Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old&new

mulege, Mexico

Betty, it reminds me of one of the funnier moments I've had with Tony. I said that a toy chest I had was mine when I was a child. Totally seriously, he said, "yes, it's REAL old." Then he froze as he caught what he'd said. I tried to glare but couldn't keep a straight face. He's been completely oblivious when he spoke.

Speaking of Tony, he took today off instead of last Monday as it is his daughter's fifteenth birthday and the are having a huge party (the 15th birthday is a big deal for Mexican girls). Most of us Americans are reluctant to celebrate this too much as we'd rather see the girls getting more education instead of spending huge amounts of money, time and energy on tis. I talked to Dana and I think we will give Barbara a college (or other school) fund under Tony's control as he is very good about keeping his agreements. The party starts at 9pm so I will not be attending. They understand and will not be offended by my non-appearance.

I just took a nap for a couple of hours. I did get chicken legs cooked for the dogs earlier so we're set on that.

Weather is perfect.

hugs, katie

It is amazing how much they spend on the quinceañera's!

Hoping you send some of that perfect weather my way!

Laughing at the toy chest..don't think this guy even realize what he said. Lol

How wonderful to be off for his daughter's birthday..late at night for a party righ? Great that you and Dana are helping the birthday girl..think you mentioned before many girls that age marry..did I remember correctly?

Lovely gathering at the restaurant tonight..don't think Paul was surprised but he put on the ohhh what a surprise. I had spaghetti, wrong choice..guess its one of te few things I make that is tasty so this sauce didn't appeal to me

Time for bed, one heck of a day, tomorrow is another one so here is hoping I sleep through the night.

Yes DSD had been invited to one way back when... it was a very important affair.... Katie I know Tony knows he is blessed to be working for you !

HUGS to all.... I'm sorry I'm not on here much but will attempt to come back a bit more.

I had Quick books to attend to this morning and taxes and bills. Then I went up to the shop to count tips and etc.
I came home and a friend came over and i planted some things then sat with her at the hot tub and it reminded me that I CAN ACTUALLY Relax a time or two and the world won't come to an end.

Of the Louisiana School For the Deaf Students that work for us ...we have one (the only girl) who is never happy with her schedule....I will need to deal with that... but I generally can't have an employee who tells me what her hours should be.

I'm blessed with the plants that are struggling but made it through this cruel winter.

We are headed to Disney 5/20-25. ME, Lance, Brock Heyam , Raquel and her beau Clint and we will visit DSD1 in the Disney college program Roxanne.... her discounts have saved us a lot of money on this trip.

BEV thinking of when clearing out the daylilies today....

BETTY thinking of .... she has sent me many yellow flowers that are beautiful ! Can't wait for them all to bloom.... they may end up as vase flowers for the shop!

Dianne... hope Diesel and Duke are taking good care of you !

Debbie (Gentle Hugs) we go through much of the same...

Hope you all are well

I WAS asleep, but, had a horrid nightmare, still can't settle down from it .. must say I haven't had one like it in yeras !
Woke up and poor wee Piper was licking my face, I guess I must have been crying ..

Morning all,

Mary as always, love to see you post!

Know how you love your Disney trips, marvellous that you can get away as a family. Who will oversee the shop? How is your step daughter making out in the Disney program, does she enjoy? ,
no you don't need someone telling you when they can/cannot work, best nip that in the bud. Is Lance settling in with career change?

"M" some of those nightmares stay with you for day's..just feel sooo real.hope you got more sleep. Gord puts a lot of energy into these shows, he will be glad to start spending weekends home. How is Murray adapting?

Well, been procrastinating, time to get warm clothes on and determine which project I will undertake today. Rita thinks I could leave the ponds dry out but when I look at rain forecasted for next 10 days not sure I should.

Regardless what I pick as today's to do I must start with getting dressed

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Going to be a sleepy day, but, I think I'll rejuvenate once I get out with the dogs into the sun ..
May not be majorly warm .. 34F, but, the sun is blazing.

Betty, Murray is home to stay .. very fortunate he did NOT sign the papers until he went and saw for himself exactly what would be expected of him.
His shifts would consist of 12-14 hour days .. 10-12 days in a ROW !!! 2 days off, you are on call !!
He had the courage to tell them 'no thanks', I'll go back to my old job ... so .. we have him HOME .. but, sadly, he is not happy with CPRail .. life is never easy.

The nightmare is still there IF I think about it, so, plan not to ^_^

Likely taking the dogs walking today .. still snow here on the property, and, lots of it ..
DH will be home around supper time ..

Living room painting is finished. Yay!

Here are some before pictures. Not sure how good they are, but I know I'm one tired puppy today!

Marilynn's, sorry about your nightmare, hope you. An shake it off in the sunshine.

We're expecting rain for several days as well. Not long til garden club comes, the cleanup in the garden will surely NOT be finished in time!

"M", sorry to hear of your nightmare, I hate it when I have them too. Thanks God not too often!

Mary, glad to see you pop in, and so glad your taking a break to Disney!

Betty, call Noah and tell him to come and work. He will be glad to help you.

Hard to tell that the room was an ugly green. Now it's the color of chocolate ice cream. 😛

I don't think you can really tell the color from these. I'm happy with it so I guess that's what counts.

"M" must be frustrating to still have winter with you..as for me. I'm enjoying bright sky and 50 temps. Likely Murray is disappointed having to come Bach when he so wanted to move forward.

Love the new look Joyce, I'm with LindaKay, will have such a warm feeling. What a difference once carpet is installed. You will be happy to learn Joyce the pond didn't shift..cleaned, being filled and already have the waterfall going.

As for Noah, he has church this morning at 11am so if he does come it won't be until late afternoon.

Just had cereal, pop and it's back to the big pond...hurting but not giving up till its up and running..Lordy even with these hip waiters I stink swamp..heavy suckers which doesn't help

Break is over

Victoria Harbour, ON

Finaly out of the swamp ..oh happy days..

If you could only see me, splattered in green yuk, so tired that I sat and grabbed handfuls of guckyleabes and throwing them over the edge but I can hear sounds of the water features, nothing like it at least for me. Will take several hours to fill so I can rest, worse that could happen if I fall asleep is pond would overflow. Big sigh, sure put in a weekend.

Did you hear me scream when I grabbed guk only to find it was the white remains of a frog..happened a few times...uggggg

Cleaned the back patio area, temxered glass all over the cement pad..I picked out a patio set that has lovely cushions, was going to have gregpick it up for me this week but am second guessing myself, means a lot of work bringing in the back and seat pads so rain doesn't damage them..maybe I'm better off finfpdng a set without.

Know the boys will say why have a work day Mother's Day weekend when all the work will be done, am sure I will find something.

Sure is nice working outside with sun shinning.

Sure hope you all had a relaxing day, my relaxing starts now

Had a carcas from the turkey I had Easter so thought nothing more soothing than homemade soup. Rita is at her place and has also been working since just after dawn so am sure she will appreciate a bowl of soup.
