Good morning and Happy Easter to you and yours.

Judy, sun shinning here..I'm totally organized, sitting with mom trying to decide if I want to go outside and work an hour or so..heavy frost so might not be a good idea. Got to love it when a plan comes together! Lol

Warming and cooking veggies won't go on till they all arrive, just takes 1/2 hour or so ..wish my bread rolls would rise

"M" hope you had a heat wave and your snow is gone.

Happy Easter everyone.

Good morning and Happy Easter to everyone,

Tony was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I told him he has tomorrow off.

I am continuing what I hope is recovery, not how I'm going to feel the rest of my life. though if that is the case I'll get to watch a lot of TV and read many books. But I do seem to be getting better so I won't complain - much - about how slowly. I worked in the new garden for a couple of hours yesterday. And I think my head is a little clearer. I hate being in danger of either hurting myself or seriously messing up a project when my brain is fuzzy.

Mary, glad to hear things are going well for you and "witchy poo" is out of your life.

And, Susan, finally you have a great job and you and DH are now both working. And let's not forget no more child support.

Dianne, I'm reminded of when I moved to my present - and forever - house about ten years ago. Two days after I moved a hurricane totally submerged the little house where I had lived the previous five years.. I said many prayers of thanks.

Marion, I hope you are able to get home soon. I had many years of "helping" my younger sister. She alternated her needy periods with direct nastiness and gossip. You may have to leave with some hard feeling on her part but don't let that stop you. This is the voice of painful experience talking.

It was chilly here last night and I got out my flannel nightgown and cuddled with Twink and Max. Max is much better but I'm still very careful when he's on the bed - that's when he seems to feel most vulnerable. However, the other day he jumped on the bed and in my lap while in an exceptionally good - and unafraid - mood. He likes to sleep cuddled against my back while I sleep but if I pet him he doesn't like it and leaves. He sometimes snaps but is not as fearful - and dangerous - as earlier.

Lots of chicken and rice cooked so I can do other work if I get a burst of energy.

Meanwhile, coffee time.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, is it time for bed yet?

Katie, wonderful to hear you are feeling better...how many hours a day does Tony work? Do you think max was abused for being on a bed?

Got to say I'm exhausted..everything is in its place, dishes done, lots of left overs even though the boys took some home.

Anybody for pie, lots left.

Rita just came in, made her a plate, both of us look so bad even a cat wouldn't drag us in..each betting who will be first in bed and who will make it to eight. I'm ready for bed now.

Nice visit with the kids, reminded my boys mothers day to do list is ready..Jeff wants me to find an all around odd job person to do a weekends work and he will pay, told him no go,can't get out of it that easy.

LOL! Betty, you're mean! Just kidding. I'm about to ask my son to help me paint the living room. He'll probably say the same thing!

Had a nice time at son and DILs. Really good ham. Great granddaughter had me by the hand pulling me all over the yard. What fun!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Sounds like everyone had a great Easter!

Andy and family were here for the week end, and we had a blast, we put the kids on the floor with newspaper to color eggs, then they went outside to play, they found my stack of garden soil and mulch, and of course they had to climb, then they found a snail!

It's so fun just watching kids do what kids do. Makes the best photos too, don't have them smile & say cheese, just catch them having fun.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Awwww love the photo's..know you were smilling while taking them!
Too bad they grow up so quickly.

Just got an email inviting me to Braedon's grade 12 graduation mass mid June, responded I'd be there with bells on, now where did I put those bells.

Raining lightly this morning, here is hoping it will melt the leaves stuck in ice.

Took measurements this morning for the cover of the swing that got ripped/eatenn, going to check fabricland, if their canvas is on sale I will head over and buy a few meters

Might try to put top on gazebo later if it stops raining..might even see if Greg can meet me at Walmart, they have a nice patio set on at a reasonable price

Might be more encouraging if I replace what is broken with new

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Love the pics of the kiddies LindaK .. that's what it's ALL about ^_^

Had a low key Easter .. my Hospice client was admitted to hospital, so, spent some time with her and her family .. left feeling lucky to be able to walk out and head home to family, even though the dinner was done, it's only food.

Weather wise we're DRY, but, windy .. snow is going in leaps and bounds ..
Robins are back and singing their hearts out, and, I'm lovin it .. my favourite bird along with the Chick a dee ..

Gotta tell ya Katie, the thought of a flannel gown in MEXICO just sounds kinda different ..
Here's old MENOPAUSE MARILYNNE hardly able to keep a TShirt on at night in the north .. LOL .. menopause has given me a total internal combustion furnace with NO controls .. driving me buggy !!!!!!!!!!!!

Rushy stuff here today ,, I transferred 1643 pictures from the puter to a memory stick, don't know about anyone else, but I find that so intimidating! Then I went to DELETE the pics from the computer and had to try 2-3 times to HIT Delete.
Can't really say as I find the machine quicker, but, that was the purpose of it all ..

Hugs to all needing it ..

Toodles

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Marilynne, I have MAJOR issues with hitting the delete button !!!

very quiet Easter here, I worked 7-4, came home to dinner all but finished. Dave's sister and family were here. got to visit for a bit before they had to leave.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Memory sticks are to make sure your pictures are saved if something happens to your computer.

Victoria Harbour, ON

With my abscent mndedness it's likely loose the stick...should do same.

Bet Thunder you were crazy busy..laughed at Greg, said he went to Walmart Aturday night to pick up chocolates and outing left. Dahhhh. Last minute guy...then he blamed me for buying them out.

"M" must be so overwhelming for you, as Sharon says, gives you courage to go on when you see how much peace you offer your clients..so young! Sharon hasn't been back volunteering since Jim died...must ask her if she is strong enough to go back shortly.

What great weather today, in 70,s
Off/on light rain but that is a plus, washes some of the ugly away..can you believe grass is turning green already.

Bough some lovely canvas to cover the love seat rocker I set out near the pond, even bought a few cans of water repellant, that might help..went downstairs to start the project and talked myself out of it

Rita is at her house with her brother painting away, she will be tired tonight, glad there is plenty of leftovers.

Had my bath, think I'll get a few quilt magazines , head to bed, make myself comfy and look at pictures..likely make it through a page or so. Painted about 1/2 of 2 cookbook covers, will try to finish them tomorrow and do lettering Wednesday..likely that is why I'm tired!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning

Rain and fog but mild!

Not much going on, painting on recipe books, decided to do my outdoor rocker cover another way so need another yard of canvas..will go and purchase another yard and maybe another coordinating fabric for pillows for back patio

Will keep me out of mischief

I'm so laughing Joyce, remembering the fun time we had in Wasaga Beach with those guys and how they were harming it up with us..Wasaga Beach here I come. Lol

If for no other reason it's work you guys driving up!

Too funny

Big sigh, wondering how when I look at my photo's where ever I travel I'm in an eye candy group, am I a cougar??

Was telling kids of some of my exploits while travelling, both piped up and say it was too much information, nothing they wanted to know their mother did..

I may be old but not dead yet

Thanks for the sole today Joyce

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, if you're a cougar, then so am I!!!😈

Glenview, IL

VavaVooom!! lol what a way to enter a room...Thanks for the smile Sunshine.

Today is very chilly but nice and sunny! Will continue with household stuff and off course some yard work...
There is a pile of wood I want to stack, sigh it's in my way!

Betty, are you on holiday?

Yippeee, Waiving hello Bev!! Sure have missed you, You sound busy, so glad you jumped in to post...
Oh gosh, as usual, love to see your flowers! i really like the first and the fourth...

Can you all please say a little healing prayer for Our David? He spent time in the emergency. Something with his heart. He has to go for stress test as well as others. Julia is so upset, doesn't even want him to go to work...I think, they just heard the worst scenario of the situation. Not sure when his stress test is. He didn't want her to tell anyone. Have no idea why, but Im glad she talked to us, it is just not something she has to deal with by herself and shouldn't...I also have to believe it's something that can be treated. If it weren't they would have handle it right away, at least I would hope.

...Yikes and yesterday Emily was sooo sick, vomiting all day. I was getting really worried, Thankfully she is Good today.

Yay, everyone back to their routine.

Thunder, How is Reighly? So glad you were able to visit with David's sister and family.

Linda Kay, sure loved the pictures of the Grandkids, What fun!

I'm working laundry today, oh speaking of which....Uh err, I've got to wash Jakes Whites, (Chef jackets/arpron etc.) So, I wonder, I tried the colorfast bleach in the wash, dunno, i didn't see any difference at all...So i asked him how others get their clean, he said i could use chylorinateded bleach...
But i am terrified, what if it eats them or fades the coloring on the embroidery?
Should i let these whited stand or soak in the bleach before washing, hemmena, hemena, Need advise really bad!

All right time to switch out loads.
Enjoy the day and i hope everyone is doing well so far!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Got me? I haven't a clue!!

Glenview, IL

Lol, Sunshine! I told him when he gets a job he should have them dry.cleaned.
big gripe here! IM SICK of washing whites why oh why do they have to wear whites??

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I just add the bleach to the wash water and then let it wash. I would not let the clothes sit in it at all. That is how the colors come out and the fabric weakens.
I also used to use Shout on Bob's chef's stuff. As soon as it comes off the body it got sprayed. That really helped with cutting down on the stains. They are inevitable but we try....
By the way, Bob is my son who now has his own restaurant. Don't remember if I mentioned him before. I know I talk about his girls, Madison and Sophia!!! LOL

How wonderful to see you pop in Bev. We DO miss you and nobody keeps up with the thread. We all pop in when we can.....

Edited to add: There is a product that I used years ago called bluing. It is a whitener for clothes. I don't know if they still sell it but the whites used to come out great..... Also check out blue colored detergents as they may contain it.....

I use dishwasher detergent in the washing machine with the whites.. Be sure to use hot water to dissolve it. Dishwasher Detergent contains lye, I guess that's what does the good job. I also add regular detergent (I use Era), and let them wash for about 15 mins. I then add 1/2 cup chlorine bleach and restart the cycle at the beginning. I also do an extra rinse. This keeps my whites bright.

I use all white towels and they look good as new after several years.

Try washing one in regular bleach, if the embroidery comes out OK, wash all the others! That way only one gets ruined if the bleach is not good for the colored threads. Other wise, I would use a really hot water, and a good laundry soap, some have oxi clean in them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, I also like the picture Cookie, looks like you all were having fun!

Glenview, IL

Wowee...thank you!!
Ive forgotten about bluing... i will try each of the suugestions!

Ok so im intrigued about the dish soap!! How much to a load? A couple squirts, hmmmm.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I use the powder...cheapest store brand will work just fine. 1/3 to 1/2 a cup.

Got this many many years ago from a nurse...remember when they always wore white? Used it to get formula stains out of bibs and undershirts too.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh my Cookie, I hadn't seen the eye candy picture yet! Cougars? Now is there anything wrong with that....you only live once so go for it!

Lovely day here. Sitting outside with a lovely beeze blowing, read the threads trying to catch up. Had a little tummy problem for a couple of days but feeling much better now. Daily progress finally where my sister is concerned. Went to therapy by herself yesterday....huge step. Discussing my going home for awhile around the 6 - 9 of May. Say a prayer please that progress continues.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers Marion!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My prayers continue dear heart.....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh my Marion, that is such good news. Prayers continue!

Back to the weed patch. I like it when I can see the progress I've made!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

good morning all. I have had Sean with me the last two days so things are quiet here this morning. He has so much energy and I just wish I could bottle it up and drink it down when I need it. He helped me with a couple chores and then we went outside. I got the walker out of the car and we circled the building here a couple of times. That is a 5K for me! I loved the company and will miss him.

So today I get back to sewing and finishing my catch up chores. I say finishing as in wishing I will get everything done. I didn't realize I was falling behind with borders until this morning.

Sending prayers to all in need. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I'll check back later......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, what is with that white stuff on the ground??

What terrific news Marion regarding Sue, I always wonder in their turmoil if they have in mind if they don't make progress that their support system will remain with them??

Judy, I also use oxyclean, but I'm the worse in having stained clothing. Praying David gets good news..can imagine just how worried you all are..any update?

Barb, was Sean out of school due to illness? Aren't they a joy to have around.

Kyle dropped in last night, finished this years college, complaining his vehicle needed repair..soo grown up now!

Was outside at 5 this morning, had thought I'd get the glass from the patio table that smashed in a zillion pieces this yeoutpaced up but rain stopped me last night so had to be done this morning..out just made it into house and heard the garbage truck empty the bin.

While having coffee made a list of needed things and clean up by the boys on mothers day..the secret garden had an older table and chairs, been there for a few years, weather did them in, now n the burning pit..thought a metal cafe step would be the thing to put there, worse is they rust and that would mean they match all the metal pieces so off to Canadian tire..looked at the metal sets and cheapest was $179.00 hmmm I already have metal set on back bedroom deck...got an aha moment, they had a small 4 piece set, lounge, 2 chairs, coffee table..constructed in metal with mesh fabric, think rain would fall right through it so bought it for $120..will put it n back deck and back deck furniture in secret garden..needs to be put together though. Heavy, heavy..will open box and bring a few pieces in at a time

Friday I will get Greg to pick up the dining patio set for me, will be in a box then he and Jeff on their workday with me can ut it together...then all will be right in my gardens except raking..was given a name yesterday, lady works well, $20 an hour she charges..do you think that is high? Probably would take a good week??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That seems high , but with everything going up, maybe not? I would keep looking, maybe place an ad in the paper? With the kids out of college maybe one will be looking for a job?
