Had to hold my husband back. Now I "think" I need to go to hobby lobby. No have to same money for our little vacation we are taking to Chicago next week. Going to the cheesecake factory, on an archetual boat tour and shedds aquarium. Who knows what else? So looking forward to it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Vacation sounds fun!
Morels are so expensive. We used to go hunting for them when we lived in Michigan!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

If we would just get a wee break in the weather, the morels would pop out. Supposed to get warmer towards the end of the week so maybe......

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

That is perfect Linda Kay, DH will give musshrooms to friends and family but I doubt anyone has enough money to buy them from him...rofl.

This is the first we have seen of ticks.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Funny wewere talking about ticks during our break today. Yuckie creatures they are. Why do we need them? Just to cause us pain. And the poor animlas too.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

My thoughts exactly on ticks.

Ok I might not survive retirement in the summer. I think EVERYTHING on my body is hurting...rofl. Tomorrow I won't do much work cause going with my sister to take my sister to the eye doctor to see about her eye surgery.

It Moved over our way Happ :) So it gives me a day of rest . I Can find Feel Human again since I got that Block Injection in my back ,
you do not know how it feels to be able to get back in my gardens & work sunrise to sundown :) I have been able to do More in the last 2 weeks then I Have done in the pass 3 yr.
I feel great sore muscles But It Feels great .

I Might work in the potting shed Potting up my Dahlias & Cannas

I have a question : When you get plants from Bluestone or other comps do you Put them right in the flowerbed or do you pot them & wait till they have More Growth to them ?

well off for more coffee

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I usually just plant them where I want them!

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

ty LK I will hold off til mid may so they won't get frosted if it turns cold then i will put them in the ground :)

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

I usually put right in the ground almost as soon as I recieve them. Really have not had any problems. But you can do it any way you want too.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Depends on what is going on for me. When I get plants if I have time I put them in the ground and if I know I have time to take care of them, but alot of times it is necessary to just put them in pots and let them rest after their trip cause I don't have time.

Not a drop of rain here. Went plant shopping today and then to farmers market tomorrow. So Deejay my body got to recover thank goodness. It does feel good to be exhausted from physical work. I love working in the garden. Would be so sad to be in so much pain you couldn't work. Thank goodness for medicine.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

so much for a day of rest :( all the rain was North of us so I went out & weather the wind & Got another flowerbed weeded.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Yeap i posted my plants from the swap also. They are great.
Rain is a great reason to take a break, and now I am retired it is almost sad when it misses us..rofl. I am worried about drought again this year.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

We did get some rain herd the other night and a huge rolling thunder storm. Woke me right up. Lots of times I do not even hear them. But it was so loud. Rainded for a while. It was raining on friday when I went to work and again more in the afternoon. Havebeen pulling some more of the maple leaf helicopters. I am going to be helping with a community garden this year. You should see that lot wow millions of the maple copters there am lookkng forward to helping. They nave some great ideas.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Same here, Ronna. Our maples have dropped tons of seed copters this year. More than usual. It has been raining so even more will be down today, I'm sure. I've been pulling little maple seedlings out of some of my pots and beds. Lots and lot and lots and ...

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I've read that when we have a hard winter or the trees get stressed for some reason, they go into overdrive producing to insure survival of the species. If that is so, this should be a good fruit year unless it's too dry, or rainy, or cold, etc.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

That's what I was thinking. Mine certainly have.

I know my neighbors back yard is plastered. So was ours but not as bad as thiers. I mowed today so hopefully they will be dead now. So I got my project done I found a neat old door down the road and painted and sanded and hung it. With my wonderful DH's help. First of course is before and second is after.

What a great door and a great idea GL. How pretty, you are so creative....love it.

Tornado was about 30 miles south of me, which is too close as far as I am concerned. No one was hurt or killed, thank goodness! But a lot of homes were damaged. It is a small community.

We are getting dry again this year. We were suppose to have rain, but only got sprinkles, winds have been horrible. I am amazed I haven't lost more hostas than I have. I have lost a few little ones, which isn't too shocking.

DeeJay like you I am sore sore sore...rofl. I am edging my daylily bed and then mulching it. I had a leak in the koi pond so I took alot of the waterfall apart and then had to put it back, oh yeah and out in the yard I found a snake.

Well hope everyone had a great MOM'S DAY.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Thank you thank you thank you Linda Kay, I went to wally world back to the fish section and found the perfect blue rocks for the planter for my friend.

I think it is done except I would really like to make a pair of flip flops for in front of the chair. Since it is 50 and rainy here I might make some salt dough and give it a try. But I am pretty happy with it right now I hope she likes it.

She loves the beach even tho she lives in Missouri, loves the sun, likes to bike, and collects yellow duckies in her bedroom bath you should see her bath it is so happy, and collects coke stuff in her kitchen and family room. So I tried to incorporate some of her favorite things.

So glad you found the stone you needed. That looks really nice! Go to the craft section of wally world, and get some craft foam, you can cut flip flops out of that really easy! It comes in a package of several colored sheets.

If your friend does not like what you have made, you have my address!!! :)
