Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

All you southern sweeties please be careful with the storms heading your way. They are awful. Can't help but worry about you all.

Debra you are such a sweetie. I was just watching youtube on how to take starts of shrubs. I would love some and I don't really care about color.

So cold, to cold to go outside for anything. And way too windy, yuck. Lost all our warm weather when the storms left.

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

So I am working on the tags for the plant sale.
Posted this on unusual planters, thought you might like to see it. I am going to plant succulants in the cups, string of pearls, string of bananas, burros tail, and the rest I am not sure yet.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Looks like someone snatched it up already. ;-)

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

very Nice where or how will you hang it love to see finished picture :)))

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I have a covered porch and it will hang from the ceiling like a chandelier.
I also have one hanging from my gazebo but it has solar lights on it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh Joyce. That is beautiful. Where do you find the chandeliers?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I have found them all over. I have 3.
One I found at a garage sale, one at a thrift store, and one on the curb in our home town. We have a day where you can put your junk on the curb and people can take whatever they want. They are the typical brass color and just spray paint them and then just start gluing. Some people put candles in them which at night if they are china would glow which would be so cool, but I think I want succulants.

Wind chill in the 30's...yuck! And now more rain coming in. I did see by Tuesday next week we are suppose to be 90...this is our typical NO spring going from winter to heat of summer! Just hope we have more rain this summer.

Guys I so love being retired. I just can't get over it.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Happ soundslikeour weatheris the same as yours. So cold and blah here today. Wanna work in the yard but no..... its is spring here at least I thought it was. It has been to 70 only once so far this spring. Oh well we will wait a little longer I guess.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

We are warming up starting tomorrow and then next week into the 80s. First they had said 90. So 80 will be great.

Going. Garage sailing tomorrow. That will be fun.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Hope you find some great treasures.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Well we went garage shopping...rofl. I found a big exercise ball I am not exercising but want to want to make a concrete ball, then I bought a glass jar with sand and sea shells for 50cents, needed the sand and shells for a birthday present, DDIL collects Precious Moments and found a Christmas tiered plate, a good metal scoop for potting soil, and dh found an antique trunk that is really pretty. Missed some great old metal lawn furniture I would of LOVED to have. Now this is the first time DH and I have been garage sale together.....very interesting.

I am making this planter for a friend who LOVES the beach. I am happy with everything but I need some of those smaller blue glass. I am going to try to make some flip flops. Never did anything like that before.

Thumbnail by happgarden
(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

that is adorable, Joyce. It would make a great office decoration for someones desk who never gets to the beach..

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Never thought about that. Probably make work that more unbearable...rofl.
She collects yellow ducks in one of her bathrooms and I found a yellow duck and stuck it in there...LOL
Sorry about the table, those are the plant tags for the sale.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you had a good day! Love that planter!

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Very cute Joyce wet & cold here so No SALES :(

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Well went to a car swap meet today. I found a couple of things but this time mostly car stuff..rofl.

Thank you for the comments on the planter I hope she likes it. Now to find that blue tumbled glass. I looked on ebay and they actually have the blue sea glass but way too much money for me.

deejay hope you weather breaks, it is beyond wonderful here today. We got up at 4::30 but when I got home I started cleaning the porch and getting all summery...LOL Now I am taking masking tape and writing the names of the plants on the pots for the plant sale.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

You are staying busy happ. So jealous about the garage sale you went to. I had to work today. Do you remember work??? Lol. You have been doing lots of work really. Bjt I did work in the yard for a couple hours after work. Really windy but pretty warm really.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happ, how about some fish tank gravel? It comes in pretty colors?

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

It was windy & cool today but i did play outside this afternoon.
Pulling weeds & Planting a few seeds .

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

90 here in Wichita.. holy crapola....winter to summer with no rain for April..

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well, that doesn't sound good. :(

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Happ you might look at a craft store for the glass you want.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I looked at hobby lobby but didn't find any, but you know that place is sooo big it is hard to find one little thing..rofl.

Linda Kay the fish gravel might be an idea if I can't find blue tumbled glass. I could get a blue bottle of wine, drink all the wine, and then break the glass...rofl, just don't know how tumble the edges so someone doesn't cut their fingers off....rofl.

I always know when I am stumped you guys will come thru for me. Thank you.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

they have bags of colored round flat glass stones in all colors at the dollar tree and dollar general and walmart , Joyce. I use it to fill my water planters with.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I have bought bags of them at the Dollar Tree too as well as at Walmart in the floral decorations area.

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Yes hobby lobby sure is a huge place. Has everything for cracts and yards tho. Windy here again today. But got 8 bags of mulch down still have lots more to do. It sure does look nice with the fresh mulch. The little green plants coming up really stand right out. Enjoyed being outside after work today.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I like to check out the fabric at Hobby Lobby too, most always find something I "need".

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

LOL yeah Hobby Lobby has way too many things "I NEED", lol. I have alot of those blue round glass stones you use in flower vases, but I think I want something smaller if I can find it. I think hobby lobby is probably the place to go. I am going to look at the fish bowl stuff also.

It was windy all day Sunday but an amazing day like you GardenLady. Today is going to be beautiful also. I got one flower bed done, gonna hit the others today. Debra I heard you all were over 100!!!

I have a dove who has built a nest right on top of the rose arbor going into the garden room. I am going to have to move everything out of the way of the other door so I can start using it.

DH found a bunch of morel mushrooms, he is so happy. He also found alot of ticks, none on him but a bunch on his clothes.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Check this out for blue glass!

Ticks are really bad this year, our vet told us to make sure we use the stuff that goes on the dogs between their shoulders!
