our little new goat got stuck in the hay feeder. How he got in there ????
the pic is on my phone so i can't post it here. :(

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Send it to me, Sue, then I'll send it to myself and post it! Did we have a good time Sunday?

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I won't hear anything about the job until tomorrow - after the first interview, I emailed them and said "I'm on pins and needles" lol and so are you, Joyce LOL

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I think we all on pins and needles, Susan. You have waited so long for a good job to come along.

Another very warm day and I decided to tackle the dust bunnies. No wonder we are sneezing and coughing. Wish I had decided to make over the wood floors instead of carpeting when we moved in here. I had the money then for special things and I went with carpeting. My friend had carpeting in her family room and went with wood and she sure likes it better. Much easier to keep clean. Of course, nothing is easy for me to keep clean, wasn't born with the cleaning gene in me.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Linda, I would like a red and white one. I will pay for you're time and materials.Thank you sweet lady!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am going to San Antonio tomorrow, I will find a wreath there along with red flowers!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Any news Susan?

Pegi, we remove all carpets in the 3 bedrooms. Just bare wood in other rooms. Thank God we did that before the invasion of the rescues! Much easier to keep up. No more occasional costly shampoos.

Have fun in San Antonio. Such a big city with so many craft stores tempting you LK. I can't wait for Joann's to open at the beach!

Sis Kathy, time for you to change to purple and gold ;)

Karen, hope you're over the runs. Wise of you to postpone that eyelid surgery.

It was cold yesterday, and today, back to summer. Have to step outside first to decide what I'd be wearing.
Been busy since this morning, and not looking forward to accompanying Kel to the beach later.
Got to, as I keep him awake with my nagging!!

Waving to Ronna, Cookie, Sue... Katie.. Carole and sis Judy!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

no word as yet, re: job... one more hour b4 they close for the day.
Maybe I'll hear tomorrow..... they said a couple of days, and from Tues aft to Thurs aft is two days......

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Dumb me! I let my subscription lapse for a few days..what ever was I think? Or rather, not thinking. Have just returned home from taking Sue for a CT scan of her ear....hopefully they will figure out why these infections keep returning.

LK, if only we could find some one with grapevines grown on their property. They could pull it come the fall, wrap into desired size and style and later make wreaths with them. I would do that when I lived in Gainesville. Ross would go across the back of our lots and pull the grapevines down to dry for a couple of days, then we would make wreaths, wet them down to dry again. I still have a couple of them but haven't hung them any where at the lake house. Suspended from the ceiling in the utility room.

Apparently I now have a cardinal flying around at home..inside no less. Kim called to tell me of her latest episode with Bobbi( Bad Cat) this morning. Kim was putting a box of items out for someone to pick up later today. She saw a flash of black and white dash by, called her name and instantly this b/w object turned around and went inside following a red flying object.
Apparently a female cardinal was building a nest outside the front door and the cat scared her...so into the house she flew. Kim told me it is very difficult to cook breakfast at 5:30 with a bird flying around your head!! She couldn't get the bird out so she locked all the cats up; took the screen out of the kitchen window and left for work. I am so glad I won't be home to see what kind of mess there will be. That cat is terrible!!

Take care everyone....going to go outside, sit in the shade and try to read for a while.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness, I hope the bird gets out OK!
Ear infections are not good, hope the meds clear it up quickly!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Just spoke with Kim and the bird is out. She is sitting on her nest outside our front door. All is well.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh goody! You're going to be grandma again.,

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Yeap, that I am....to a bunch of baby cardinals!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear the bird is back where it belongs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

So am I. Even happier there was a lot of bird things for Kim to have to clean!

She will be coming down here next weekend. I can hardly wait to see her.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Have Kim take pix of the birds.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

God bless you Kim!!! The Cardinal Protector against all black and white with furry tails!!
What a tale Kim has to tell her kids! Poor Bobbi bad cat.. it's in his nature to recognise a meal!! Lol!!
Oh well Marion, at least you could be thankful that you didn't have to clean up whatever mess was made.

Congrats Susan for getting that bookeeping job! You will soon have a new daily schedule, which includes commuting to work :) Very happy for you.

Good morning sistahs. Cold this morning and I'm going back to bed. Didn't sleep last night. Overworked my mind with worries, but did clean the kitchen and did loads of washing.
Just want to make sure I wish you all a great Friday!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone, stopping in quickly to say Happy Birthday to Cookie! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday, Cookie!!!!!!

yes, for those that didn't see my FB page - I got the job!! Bookkeeper / Treasurer. It's a dual position, and I will be responsible for looking after 2 sets of accounts - Regional and Congregational. The fellow who is leaving the position (retiring) will stay for 2 months, to train me.
Their previous building was sold for $40M, and they just moved to the Regional office to an office building, and the church is being held in another church (sharing with another congregation, so there's 200 people on a Sunday...). AND they were gifted $50k for 4 years - 2006 on, to create programs (senior's, youth, etc). This is a fairly wealthy church now......
Anyway - I start on Tues, take Wed off (big meeting, that I'm not ready for, and my trainer is in the meeting) work Thurs, and have Good Friday and Easter Monday off..........
After that, it's M-F, 9 to Noon.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Here'a couple of cute kids........ what talent!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISSY! I LOVE YOU

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you for the BD wishes!

Congrats on the job, Susan. Hope this one works out. Sounds like it's right up your alley. Good for you!

Going out to lunch today. We're celebrating someone else's birthday. My celebration will be next Thursday.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for the "congrats on job" wishes
I am going to treat this like it's already going to "work out"......... I Will Not set myself up to fail!!
and I Will Not expect that the job will go to someone that is a "friend of the congregation" or anything like that!!! I know, in the past, jobs have gone because of company cutbacks or more seniority by someone else, but this is My Year to shine! and I'm going to Take it to it's fullest potential!!!!!!!!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Happy Birthday Cookie. With that positive attitude Susan, you will surely shine in your new job. I know there is one very happy gal in Canada.

Going to be another hot day, at least I'm trying to get rid of clutter inside & out. It does stay nice under the aluminum patio cover so no excuse for not getting out there.

DH is not doing any better, if only he could get a little stronger. He still goofs around so sense of humor is still with him. Friend of ours was told his EKG didn't look good and he had to wait so long for another test. One doctor told him he had a heart attack at one time. Well, the test came back and 2 doctors read it and said his heart is strong, didn't have that attack. Beginning to wonder what kind of health insurance is that. Scared the heck out of everyone. Heart disease runs in his family.

I hear Susan humming in the back ground, sounds like one happy gal.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That's not humming, that's singing! and yes, one very happy gal!!

Had an old vacuum cleaner buried under junk out on patio so I hauled it out to see if it still ran or if it goes into the trash next week. It is a Kenmore canister that I think is over 30 years old. It does run and will be perfect for cleaning the small back porch free of dirt and webs. Of course, I could have used the shop vac, but this is easier for me. Slowly I'm trying to get rid of all this stuff so I can have a patio I can enjoy. When it stops running out it goes.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Just planted a bunch of flowers, mike planted 2blueberry bushes, which makes. 5. Now I'm chilling on my back porch. We also planted 2blackberry trees.

CONGRATULATIONS Susan on the new job.
Pegi sorry to hear hubby is not doing well. Sending prayers your way.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love that porch!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Thanks Linda, we want to expand it eventually, when we get the money

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks on the good wishes! I had a fun day!

Wouldn't it be fun to be chillaxin on that porch!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Oh wait! I be running late sending happy birthday wishes my dear.
Hope it was filled with plants, love and oodles of eye candy!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sis Kathy, you will be on your way preserving blueberries a few years from now! Your garden will look so 'rounded' sis. Flowers and fruits.
Think I'd like to get a blackberry tree. I had one in Louisiana and you should see how the birds got drunk on the berries every year!

Pegi, my back porch can't be cleared off eating and sometimes sleeping cutesies .. cats.. possums.. raccoons!!
Forgive me if I'm being insensitive, have you looked into a Palliative care for Darwin? He will be needing all the professional help and you can't do it by yourself, sistah.
Will continue to pray for you both.

Marion, don't expect eye candy here!! There's none, unless you don't mind Bubba with a roll up sleeves and belly button showing ;)

Waving to LK, Cookie, Sis Judy, Susan, Susie.. Ronna.. Carole... Katie..

You all have a good night now.

Aw, thank you, my maid M. Don't recall seeing any eye candy today. Guess I need to go back to Canada! They abounded there!

No plants today, but I did get some nice things in Tennessee while there. Now if I can just keep everything alive til the middle of May!!

I have to share this picture with you. My poor new granddaughter. Her boyfriend won't have a chance!

Good morning all. I have been having so much fun being outside. Been so tired after working all day then in the yard.... but I am smiling ear to ear. We have stretches of highways here that are dedicated to family memebers and the families are suppose to clean that stretch of the high way every three months. Today is our day for that. 2 miles long. Usually the first pick up is the worst of course. My dad and some of his brother and maybe his sister will be there. Today is suppose to be in the 70s. Warmest day of the hear so far. So happy!

So happy for the news of the new job, sounds like peeps are getting over the crud? My poor co worker has really been batteling with some virtigo.
I have ordered so e new plants they should be here next week. SPRING IS HERE FOR SURE. Lol.
