you're 100% right!!!
Sweet Interruptions Rm. 283
I just got a call-back on the job I interviewed for, on the 1st.... the Chair of the Board of Trustees wants to meet me at 2pm today.
As they want someone to start on Monday, I think this is a GOOD thing :-)
Pray for me to get this job :-)
After more than a year, I'm ready to be working
Morning sistahs!
Marion, we shan't fail you on prayers. I'm sure the therapist will make Sue see that you need to 'own' your life too, if not, there'd be another depress sister. And what good will you be to her, if imprisoned by her mind.
Kathy you're making me tired too reading your to do list!! Watch that hip though ,, you don't want to aggravate it by running around in circles with housework. The guests are there to visit you and Michael, not the house.
15 pounds of candy?? Are you treating a whole school?
Our sister Kathy is incorrigible huh Cookie? I think I'll lose some brain cells once I meet her!! Lol!!
That's incredible Barb. Sophia has little training, if you consider one and a half year, and she's in competition mode already!! I watched a documentary where in China, they take kids as young as 3, put them up in a gymnastic boarding school, and after 2 years, they're up for competitions. Thank God, it's not like that here. These kids see their parents only once a year :(
May you get that bookeeper job, Susan.
Some sad news here. A week ago, our favori te Coon cat, Marley was missing. Thought he'd return. Then yesterday, our surviving oldest rescue, Prince is gone along with Nubbs, all have been fixed.
Our house face a big stretch of woods and woods at the back too.
Few years back, we had 2 missing. And now this.
We are afraid it may be coyotes that got to them. As long as there is a supply of food here we don't see the coyotes leaving :(
SIS JA, SORRY ABout your kitties
Susan, I'm so positive you will be the right gal for the job. I want to be doing a happy dance for you. Well, with the ease I fall maybe just a little jiggle now and then.
Sorry, your babies have gone missing, Jaye. I would love to have woods all around me, but not if it means coyotes coming around. We do see bears, etc. coming out of the mountains, but that is not close to us.
Going to be a hot day so I'm hoping to get out in the yard and do a little work. Those two tumbles I took on Sunday will slow me down a little. My legs are sore and my left elbow is very tender, but hope to work that soreness out.
I wish I can take them all in, Sis Kathy, but that'd be madness. The cats enjoy staying outside, if only they'd stay in Kel's workshop at night. But no, they're still hunters and would hunt in the woods. Coyotes don't come close to the house when Hambone's around.
But after my FIL passed away, we let Hambone live with grandma for protection :(
Now Kel tells me never to leave Lola outside by herself, not even for a few minutes. Guess no more accompanying Mama when she's in the garden.
Pegi, take a couple of ibuprofens, and watch out for Mandy.....bad girl!
Hope the soreness goes away quickly Pegi.
Jaye, do the kitties have a safe place to go that they can access themselves? Maybe some place up high where a coyote couldn't go? I'm sorry about your kitties and hope maybe they just went for a long walk....
Yes Barb, Kel's workshop with a small entrance just for them. And under the house. Coyotes don't come near to the house.
Plenty of roofs here for them to be high. The gh, the house, his workshop and a gardening shed.
But the dense woods are much more enticing to them and they're about 40 ft away in the front, and 80 in the back.
We're hoping that too Barb, but it's not like Marley to be missing that long.
My ex had lost all his cats last year. He said there were coyotes in his woods.
me too, Jaye - I like the methodical "logicalness" of Bookkeeping!
Jaye - coyotes are scary beasts and will take away small animals.... we have coyotes nearby here, too, and they've been known to wander through our trailer park. Once one attacked a small dog on a leash as the owner was walking it......... poor dog died of a heart attack
Those coyotes must be very hungry to come close to humans, Susan.
We've been trying to keep all the kitties in here at night just for that reason. The coyotes are close by and hungry. So far we've been doing pretty good, but Riley will not cooperate no matter what I tell him!
I hope they're just hunting field mice and will be back when they need something more substantial.
Cookie, there's been reported sightings in another county. I'm afraid, it's open season here for the coyotes.
Most cats dont understand ""No"!
The guy who hunts deer in our woods shot at some this winter, not sure if he got any. Mother are running in packs here. Scary.
Yikes. Maybe that's why the coyotes are brazen. For some unknown reason, there were no hunters last year. But there were deers coming out of the woods.
Sorry about the missing kitties Jaye. I too hope they are out for a walk!
Kathy, glad you have that kind of energy, but please don't over do it!
Susan, sending prayers that your next post tells us you are employed!
LK, Kel came home to tell me that our neighbours had seen some coyotes roaming in the woods, through the clearing :(
Oh Cookie, they're travelling in packs, so no chance of escape. One neighbour who hunts, said he's seen coyotes brought down a deer.
Kel is devastated as Marley's his favorite. I love them all.
Please sistahs, say a prayer that our Lord direct these coyotes elsewhere. I rather be broke feeding so many than have the numbers reduced by wild predators. They must have gone through painful deaths.
That is not good news Jaye. Sounds like you guys need to get a gun and go hunting!
The woods around here are private clubs and our neighbours who are members say they'll do it this weekend. Hope the coyotes move before that.
This is the only time I wish Kel's a hunter. My hopeless legs won't be good for tracking them down.
oh geeze, Jaye - the only problem with them moving, is they move to become someone else's problem....and the ones in our park are seen 1 or 2 at a time. I've never seen any myself.
I went to a 2nd interview today, with the Chair of the Board of Trustees. He was asking some hard-hitting questions, and I think I answered them very, and pretty, well.
The other person in today’s interview was Les, who currently holds this position as Bookkeeper/Treasurer.
They spoke to my Pastor and got a very good reference,
Also, they spoke to one of the Drs I worked for at Calgary Lab, and also got a good reference!!
They’ll let me know in a couple of days. Btw – it sounded like Les was “chomping at the bit” to hire me on the spot lol
AND, Scarboro Church is showing great interest in me also – as an Office Administrator full time.
They called me at 12:30 (before I went to my interview at 2pm). I told her that I was going to the interview and being considered at another church.
I called them back after my interview, and she said they are very interested and would offer me the job, except that they really think they should meet me first..... lol too funny!!
So, between Better Books & Bibles (18 blocks from me, and 20 hrs / week), St. Andrews (bookkeeper/treasurer), and Scarboro United (office administrator)..... I feel quite sought after......... nice after being unemployed for over a year..!!!
So sorry about your cats, Jaye. After all the love and affection you have given them. Poor babies. There are several coyotees around here too. I have no seen them but others have.
Susan hope the meeting went well. Any news?
I am bouncing off the walls it is so nice out today! We got a new garden wagon that dumps out the load. So it will be great for the summer with plants, dirt and what not. I cleaned out by the road raked and bagged. So happy to be outside working. Yeah!!!! Best of all no snow. Took the dog for two walks.
It was 70 F here today... nice!! and now. the WIND!! those chinook winds of ours really do a number on the trees - I jump every time I hear one *crack* and break off. I call the poplars around here "self-pruning trees" lol
It was 92 here today, not a good day for working outside. So, after giving Darwin his 3 PM pill I decided to lay down, you know just to rest my eyes. Woke up after 5 PM, wondering if it was morning or evening. What a strange feeling that is!
Susan, I hope you can get the job you want. You really do need a break from unemployment. My son has been out of work so long that I think he forgot how to work.
Pegi, print out your son's resume, then scan it in your printer, save it as a jpeg, easier to find for you!
Not good news reading about the coyotes Jaye. We are bothered with them in our neighborhood and yes, several cats including some of ours (several years back) have gone missing. No more outside cats for us. I so hope the kitty babies turn up home safe and sound.
We had rain today and it is still drizzling. Hopefully tomorrow will be clear.
Pegi, naps are good...I keep telling myself as I so wish I could take one some days. Take care of yourself as well as Darwin.
Not the best of days today. She is now in a panic I am going home and leave here...yes, I so hope to be able to see the girls play but have told her I will take her with me. Now she says we can go up one day, see the play that night and come back the next day. NOT! I have to have some down time after that drive and I beginning to reach the point I need to take care of some things at home. The a/c installation has been hanging loose since March 1st and I need to have that resolved!! We will see what the psychiatrist has to say tomorrow.
I continue to "hang in" there but I am beginning to need a break but unfortunately she still can not be left alone. Oh well, what will be, will be.
Marion - Sue can't be replacing your mother with you......... you need to take care of YOU.
"beginning to need a break"???? just beginning? Girl, you've needed a break for a looooo-ong time, you're just now catching up and beginning to realize it.
Who would stay with her? is there some kind of home care, or respite location she can go to?
Pegi - I almost feel I'VE forgotten how to work....... it will feel *strange*.......
Morning everyone.
Marion, I hope the Dr. appointments coming up will help Sue so you can take your much needed break!
morning sisters. marion praying for your much needed break
I'm praying for you both Marion. She is transferring from Mom to you and the longer you are there the greater her hold. You need to take a break even for a week before you are sick too. You will end up resenting her and then what? I would let the doctors know that you are leaving on such and such a date and find out what options are available for Sue. It would not be good for you to take her with you as she will make you miserable wanting to get back to her cats. And that wouldn't do you any good at all. Make a timetable for her. I will be gone this long and back to see you for this long. And NO more than 2 weeks at a time. She will either stand alone or need to be placed somewhere. There is only so much you can do and only so long you can do it.
Please don't be upset with me for saying this as I say it with love and respect for you.
Morning sistahs.
Praying here you'll see a paycheck soon, Susan.
LK that is beautiful. Are they gifts or you're selling them?
Give me some of that spirit, Ronna! I want to bounce off and be cleaning up the house!!! Hmm.. maybe if I turn some music on. Gardening has to wait for now, too wet here.
Barb, you explained it well.
Marion, yes, our fears now are for you. You can't go on without a "Me time", that would lead you to depression.
Another cat went missing yesterday. This morning, 2 more didn't show up for breakfast, really hope they're hiding on the roof. My mind can't but think of the poor cats.
Synda had told me that coyotes make quick kills of their preys, I do hope so.
Kel said he'll try to get the ones outside lock up in his workshop, that will be a task.

They are gifts for my DIL's Heather and Misty, one for my Niece in Colorado and one for my neighbor.
Don't forget yourself, LK! They are all beautiful! Do you want to adopt me? 😉
Marion, I'm with Barb! I think she put it very well. As long as you'll let them they're going to take advantage. Don't let them. I know how hard this is, truly, but it's not worth YOUR health!
Heard anything yet, Susan? On pins and needles for you! Wouldn't it be fun if they all 3 offered you a position and you got to choose? What a hoot that would be!
Were already family SIS!!! ^_^
I started making 3, one of each color, then I posted them on Facebook, well both DIL want one, then my Niece wanted one, then my neighbors on both side of me... I can't make anymore as I bought all the grapevine wreaths our wal mart had. If they get more in before Easter I have 2 more to make for friends.
:(. Very sad
Sis, why are you sad?
you can't make any more wreaths.
Sorry Barb, I had meant to acknowledge you as the author of those wise words... my mind strayed to our Sue. She must be in need of prayers too!
Anyway, quit being sad sistah Kathy, LK can make you one next Easter. Right LK? Who knows next Easter she'd deliver it in person.
Wednesday prayers tonight. Please pray for Marion and Pegi. These brave caretakers will need God's intervention for sure. Healing for big sistah Karen who's not over the cruds yet and supposedly to get an eyelid surgery tomorrow.
Prayers for the rest of us.
Beautiful. And so true!
