One good piece of news, Kel said he'll take his usual weekend off. Acknowledged that he's still not totally over the crud.

This crud seems to go on and on backs off a bit and hits again. Hubby has developed a severe ear infection on top of the crud. He's back to Dr. today for another round of meds. I have one week to get it over with so I can have my eyelid surgery.

This is Kel's second week and my first. It will take him another week before he's fully over the crud. Said his phlegm is coming out clear though.

Tell me about it! I have been having big time hot flashes the past week, Dr. said I just need to ride it out! Not fun at all!

Start drinking red wine LK. A study says it helps with hot flashes. I may have to drink 2 bottles!! Lol!

Oh my LK 98 ! i can't even think that kind of heat yet :).
we had rain rain and more rain. our little creek flooded over.
didn't do much today. made some tomato sauce with the tomatoes i roasted yesterday. turned out pretty good. Then it became sweet BBQ sauce and or sweet spagetti sauce. Kids and others like it Cincy style with cheese .
tomorrow is the gym

That sauce sounds good. It only made it to 93 today.

Got my brains back, finished my second cup of coffee a few minutes ago.
Here I go again.. good morning all.

It will be in the mid 80s today, and I don't think Kel's up to shopping for a unit later. He came home extremely tired and wouldn't even check his emails before going to bed. Guess he won't be having a noon breakfast.
Thank God, we don't have a central unit, can imagine how much that would hurt our pockets. We have working window units in the living room, and his workshop. Had suggested that he could replace the bedroom's with the workshop's. His response.. "I'll think about it." Man doesn't want to sweat when he's cutting his boards!

So for now, he's sleeping in the midst of 3 fans. Ceiling fan, table fan and an oscillating floor fan. For sure he'd be waking up sneezing.

So sistahs, I wish you all a good and somewhat tolerant Friday, temp wise.

Jaye, we don't quite need the air yet, low 30s but we are seeing more ground every day and the roof is almost bare of ice and snow. The snow finally melted enough that the swing my dad hung in the tree 25 years ago has reappeared. (the seat part)

Had to dig up the well last weekend ,had a heck of a time finding it ! Found it after two days of digging .........

Now we have had two days of monsoon rain .........

So this weekend we can Mud Wrestle in our backyard .......LOL

In my life I have learned that if something odd is going to happen I am one of the first ones picked for it to happen to .....LOL. So Tuesday I went to the DR to get my meds refilled and ask him to give me some thing for my muscles hurting so bad .He said my back muscles were all knotted up and tight .So he gave me a steroid shot .I've never had one before so didn't know what to really expect ........The pain subside to a bearable zone ,that was great . But yesterday and last night I was having these hot flashes ,like my skin was sunburned and my turkey wattle swelled up where I had a crease where my chin connects to my neck ( didn't really notice anything else swelling ,but I'm fluffy to begin with ...so who would notice ...LOL) and I was having anxiety attacks .So I thought the only thing I've done different is the shot ,so I googled "What are the side effects of a steroid shot" ! And here is what I found .......
The injections can occasionally cause "steroid flush," a flushing of the face and chest with a feeling of warmth and increase of temperature over several days - YEP GOT THIS !!!
headache
sleeping difficulties
anxiety - YEP GOT THIS !!!
nausea
diarrhea
water retention - - YEP GOT THIS !!!
a temporary increase in pain for a few days

Well the swelling of my turkey wattle has gone back to normal ,still a little warm off and on and no more anxiety attacks .........but I have had piss-itus all day !!!!! If I have went to the bathroom once I have went 15x's .......LOL.

Thank God that we have water ,even if it is still yucky looking .I can at least flush the toilet .....LOL

How is everyone else .....hopefully good !!!!!!

Doncha just love it when the cure is worse than what was ailing you? Maybe the whole idea is to give you something else to focus on so you forget your problem.

Synda I had you ga shot as well as a two week script for steroids. I had most of those symptoms too as well as my heart pounding. It does go away but not fun when they are going on.
Thank God I am doing much better now.

Well we're home! Had a fun time, pretty tired though!

Thank you once again for our goodies, Sue! However, we're pretty bummed, cause everything we opened we had to leave cause we didn't have any lids! We opened the peach, apple cider jam, beets, garlic scapes and the gold jelly. Loved that especially with the cream cheese and crackers. Brought the apple sauce and salsa back home with us.

We had a ton of fun last night. Might have gotten a wee bit silly!!😱

Well, Darwin was dehydrated when he went to doctor so put him on an IV. He had the lab come up for blood work, thought he looked anemic, but that was fine. He is still so weak that he could hardly stand to have a chest x-ray. Almost ready to put him in the hospital again, but said he could go home where he would be more comfortable. DH heard in that statement that he was being sent home to die. Gave him some antibodicts for his cold, I'm sure that is making him miserable. He is down to 168 lbs, and that's not good. The best part of the visit was doctor order more anti-nausea pills for him and when I went to pick them up she was going to charge me $54 plus. Well, she said the computer went down so they were going to give them to me free. Maybe it was because they made me wait longer to fill that one.

Synda, all that digging doesn't look like much fun for the guys. Glad they found the well, and you soon will be up and running. Pun not intended. When it rains it pours, oh gosh another pun not intended since you did have lots of rain. You could send it our way. Hot weather is coming, nothing to look forward to.

Well my neck swelled again tonight .Now I have a cramp in my back muscle and my neck.I'm probably having pain from the weather and stress of the well .Fibro is the pits !

I don't like A/C ,I like open windows and fans.
We have started hearing the frogs sing ! What a beautiful sound .Can't wait to open the windows at night and listen to the frogs and the creek running behind the house,so relaxing .

Well, Synda, I put on some 60's music and that did it! (Plus a little alcohol). We most certainly had a wonderful evening and trip in all. Michael was a good sport. We went to a lovely nursery in Knoxville and he said we were going weed shopping. All of us came home with plants to remember our trip by, but Kathy wins the prize for the most!! Judy took a picture of our plants, maybe she will post them later.

That reminds me, I got a hanging basket of a plant I don't remember ever seeing. I need to do some research to see what to expect!

I have to clean house today, so
Judy can recouped for a few hours. Then we're hitting some nurseries here. Can't tell we're gardeners, huh?

Hello Sistahs All!!

As you know we are back home safely at Sunshines and oh baby it's cold outside!!

I tried several times to get on at the cabin, but for some reason I couldn't access the wifi on my tabby! very upsetting. We gave lots of Armwraps for everyone.
Had a fabulous time. ( I'll post pictures on the gathering thread.) Geesh talk about shopping till you drop, I was exhausted...but then I think it was from all the laughing we did!

Sure hope your feeling a lot better, we missed you.

Darwin asked for oatmeal this morning, but said he couldn't finish it. Well, guess that is a start. Oatmeal is not my choice of food so guess I'll let the doggies see if they like it. LOL His voice sounds better so lets hope the meds helps him get rid of that cold.

I don't feel like looking at plants yet, Did repot some plants I had here, My therapy is playing in the yard so guess I need to do something today.

I picked up what I hope is a cool plant in TN. It's called Harlan Quinn Spurflowers. I just pulled the tag out and it is Plectranthus hybrid. I do think I've heard of plectranthus, but I've never seen this. Anyone have any information about this? Guess I'll go to plant files and see what I can find.

Had a good run to a couple local nurserys. I'll let Judy tell you what she got! I bought a chamaecyparis obtuse "Chirimen" (Hinoki Cypress). Grows 1-3 inches a year. Should work out fine in a trough. Really unique I think.

Second picture is the primrose I got in TN. Third picture is a baby Mandevilla and a variegated Tiger fern. Cool, huh?

well we got a new baby goat and dear lawdy lawdy lawdy what was i thinking ? the two other females are not nice to him, so he is in a large dog kennel. He is not happy.
