Good Morning Ladies!
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
Sweet Interruptions Rm. 283
Good morning everyone. Sunday didn't start out good for me. I went out to the garage and of course the neighbor cat had to come and sneak into the garage. I came in tripped over that darn oxygen tubing DH lets laying on the floor. Gave him his heart pill then went back out and wouldn't you know Mandy had to sneak out and start running. Here I was in my bathrobe and barefoot chasing her down the street. She wouldn't come to me no matter what. Almost got hit by a car again. I fell again, on some nice soft and wet grass and Mandy comes running thinking I was playing. I'm really mad at her and thinking about trading her in for a hamster. Knee and elbow is sore, boy do I need a keeper. She knows she isn't suppose to go out in front, but like a naughty kid doesn't listen. Thank goodness Sami didn't follow her out.
I'm here!! Was trying to cook, and typing here... took me one hour to write my thoughts and replies. Then when I tried to send, the internet went off!!!
Will be back later ... gonna feed the sick man... cut more limbs outside while the temps give me a gift of 70, yep, not 80 but 70. Catch you all later. Don't wait for me, carry on sistahs. Love you all too! Pegi.. no more jinx okay?
Pegi, what a way to start your day. Sore is not good. I have chased many animals outside when they run a way. Ggrr. I know you just get so upset cause they do not come when called.
I had to work this weekend am glad that is over. But I do have the most sweetest lady to work with on the weekend we just get along so well. Work well together and have fun. Off on monday, funning around to do. Suppose to rain I believe.
Took a nice long nap, woke up wondering what day of the week it was. Soreness is starting, still not doing much talking to Mandy. Now half my day is over, but guess I needed that nap and I slept sound.
Pegi, your body needed that nap. It's bad enough most of your waking hours are spent on Darwin, and Mandy got to throw in some unwanted excitements. Do you have a closed in backyard where she can use up her energy there unattended?
Karen, are you and your DH over the crud? Why must this viral thing makes its round just when you need to have some R and R at the reunion.
Synda I hope the reactions to the steroid are over. Sorry sistah, you sure got more share in that stress department!
LK, I hope you didn't breathe in any hot rod fumes. BTW, you look good in the pics.
Cookie, looks like you scored with your new green babies. I like the variegated fern. Anything with yellow edges are pretty. One of those will look good in Bill's planter.
Hey Sistah Judy!!! Moi miss our late night talks too!! Guess I'll have to give you a ring one night! Did you fix your special omelette? Next year maybe, I'll get to give you giant armwraps!
Sis Kathy, I'm gonna say this again, you are one lucky woman to have such a good adoring husband like Michael. He lets you get away with practically anything.. especially plants.. and he's the one that will be planting most for you!
Ronna, what concert will you be going to next? Guess the musicians are hit by inflation too and hence demand high ticket prices. CDs cost less, but nothing like a live concert.
Goodness goats? Sue, are they pygmies? Are they for Savannah's 4H. I love them, and yes, they can get into mischief, besides being stubborn! Who knows, you might be the only supplier for goat meat for the Muslims in your area. I'm hearing "Kaching".
Marion, I hope Sue's taking therapy well. May she allow you to return home for a few days... better still.. be totally recovered that she can let go of your hand.
Kel is still coughing and none too keen to return to work tomorrow as he told me that his co workers too are ill. Funny he didn't believe me that he won't be recovering fast as long as the prison isn't 'lysoled'. BUT, he managed to help me trim the fallen branches off the only oak tree. It's in the 70s today, and comfortable for cleaning the front yard. The forsythias are in full bloom and I spotted some late blooming snow drops. Couple of old clematis are already showing new growth, and I'm afraid the baby 5 I planted last year didn't survive the ice storm. Oh well.
Waving to Sistahs Susan, Carole, Katie.. and Cody if you're lurking.. we miss you.
This is done through WordPad.. and I know the internet devil can't kill it this time!!
Pegi, hope you are recovering from your fall......please be careful
So far Sue is doing well with the new medicines and doseage. No idea how long this will take. Truthfully I am so missing my family and my GDs big time. I am also concerned that she is replacing mom with me. As much as I love her, I am not willing to give up my home or family to stay here forever. I know that sounds cruel but it is the way it will be.
Hope all are recovering from their illnesses, trips, yard work and whatever else you have been doing.
Hi - no, Jaye - haven't been lurking - just on tonight :-)
It's supposed to be 63F tomorrow afternoon.
Yesterday was a Fabulous and an Annoying day:
Bob had brought home an office desk from work - they were going to toss it out - it's modular.
Size - 10ft long, 31" deep, by 72" high - has a "back" on it and a credenza (6 cupboard doors) - 2 person work station - beautiful wood. wow oh wow.... I'm am "over the moon" with it. Yesterday he brought the pieces in from our deck (been there for 3 weeks, covered with a tarp, under the overhang), and he did most of the assembling. It was sure something, bringing in pieces that long, and/or that wide. east through the porch, continue through the kitchen (shut the door), backup, then north down the hall, then sharp turn west into the den, and sharp turn north fully into the room. phew.
Then, when he was putting it together (and our den is pretty crowded with his desk, and my sewing table) I went into the LR to keep out of his way.... CRASH hear I.... jump up and RUN into the den... he's not hurt, but knocked a bunch of stuff I'd moved off the old desk...... of course I Wrenched my knee jumping up and running, so today I'm in Pain! it's getting better, with drugs LOL
Annoyance - had to take my entire computer system apart, to fit the cables in through the holes in the desktop, and generally clear the tangle (LOL) Well........ no internet, tv, or phone now, cuz it's all through a modem...... panic!! .... our provider won't come here for 24 to 48 hours... no PHONE? no TV? no INTERNET?????? ........ played Freecell..... boring.......
I went to bed at 12:30am... 2am Bob woke me up to say he got internet & tv!! yaaaaaaay "My Hero!!" In the am, I checked the phone, and it must have reset, because we have phone now too LOL
I'm on "pins and needles".... Interviewed april 1st for a job at a church, as a bookkeeper/treasurer.
I will hear sometime this week - he called our Pastor for a reference, so have to imagine he called other references too?!?! One of them said "no, never heard". 3 people were interviewed - I was the 2nd. 1st one didn't have my qualifications, they said. Don't know how 3rd interview went. Our Pastor said they sounded interested...... Oh, and they'd asked me what I was looking for in a wage...... told them "I hate that interview question, and I know interviewers hate it too LOL"
Told them $15 to $25/hr. They said they were looking to pay $25 to $30/hr!! Told them I wouldn't undervalue myself, and I have been paid $26/hr previously......
Well Ladies - we shall see..... there's another company that sells religious books and bibles (new & used) that are looking for a Administrative Manager - they're only 18 blocks from home lol They emailed me today...... asked me to come see their store, and introduce myself - they're open on Tues, so will just have to DO that :-)
Well, that made a Long Story, LONG lol
Oh Susan, you sound so good today! I hope and pray that one of these jobs work out for you. They both sound like they're right up your alley! Congrats on the new desk. Sounds awesome.
Marion, I'm so hoping and praying that this medicine works out for Sue, but you do know that there is going to be a time where you will have to go with tough love and leave her to fend for herself. She is never going to tell you that she is well enough for you to go home, cause she won't ever want you to leave. Maybe if you tell her you miss your kitty she will be more understanding since she has such a close relationship with hers. Anyway, big hug to you sistah!
Lovely. Do you think they planted all of those, or just some and they multiplied?
They are all planted, as the loop they are on is only a few years old!
Anna is so precious!
Anna is adorable Joyce. What a joy she must be.
She's in Texas. 😢 surely wish I could get some Nana time with her!!!
Distance is such a bummer. I have two in Colorado and I hate that they are so far away and that it is soooo expensive to fly there now.
Awww Anna is just darling.
Linda I soooo want to see the bluebells one time.
Anna is adorable! Blue bonnets are so pretty, going 80 mph is not allowed here. Has anyone heard of palliative care? Primary doctor mentioned it as something to consider. I guess our medical group has this for anyone with a serious illness. DH is eating a little now, but at times it sounds good, but then when I fix it he can't eat it.
Guess I need the Geek Squad again. My printer isn't working now, probably something I did wrong. When I want to print out something it says my printer is in error. I also get pop up saying programs are not compatible with computer. Also I finally got my son's resume into my Word program, but try and figure out how to bring it up when I want to send a copy out. Seems it is becoming more confusing as I go along. When I signed up for a Microsoft account my computer is locked until that is the first password I type in. I finally made myself a book listing all my web sites, utilities, bank, etc. and putting down passwords. My Internet bible.
Palliative care (pronounced pal-lee-uh-tiv) is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
Palliative care is provided by a team of doctors, nurses and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment.
Improves Quality of Life
Palliative care treats people suffering from serious and chronic illnesses such as cancer, cardiac disease such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), kidney failure, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and many more.
Palliative care focuses on symptoms such as pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, constipation, nausea, loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping and depression. It also helps you gain the strength to carry on with daily life. It improves your ability to tolerate medical treatments. And it helps you have more control over your care by improving communication so that you can better understand your choices for treatment.
Found this on Google Pegi, hope it helps.
just a quick check in. i m tired. My trainer is kicking my butt ! she added weight this week. I did find my bicep is not as squishy ! LOL
did some errands and i m pooped
Marion sure hope this works for Sue. I can relate to what is going on with you and her. your not cold hearted , its just a cycle and it is never ending is it ? . I remember the day when i had to let Jessica go and tell her " i can't do this anymore " . Hard but i couldn't be her care taker and be a mother to my other children also . I needed my sanity . Stay strong gurl. Sending you love and hugs
Susan thank you for letting us know that you're still sane!!! Girl, praying here hard, that one interview will land you a job. Hi Bob!!!
Anna is of course, adorable Cookie. Did you crochet a baby blanket for her?
I get what you're saying Barb, air tickets are atrocious!! Only the rich can fly!
Why do our loved ones got to be so far/
LK, I'd love to be in Tx to witness the beauty of blue bonnets. What we have around here would be brown reddish vetch!
Thanks Karen for that little lesson. I looked it up and found it's different from Hospice. Kel wished he had known about this, but then I'm sure MIL would disagree to it.
Pegi, sistah.. perhaps you can check into it when the going gets rougher?
((((Marion)))) That's when you draw the line, your life is exclusively yours with no hangups, no matter how much you love Sue. It's wonderful that you feel responsible for her, but don't let her be your albatross.
Did some garden work before the rain starts. Hauled two trash cans of rubbish brought about by last month's winds while Kel puts up the new ac.
Yes, got a friend who uses his generous discount to get another GE for the bedroom. I can live without ac, but not him.
Anyway, 80 here is like 90 with the high humidity that seep through the open window!
I rather hear the hum of the ac than the whirrs of the ceiling fan!
What next to be replaced? Hmm.. Kel?
Thank you Barb!!! Smiling widely here! I'm sure she's told many times how pretty she is, and a medalled gymnast! Look out, we have a future Olympian!
Aw! How sweet is that? Looks like floor exercise for her first pose. I was a gymnast. BB was what I did, too. That and vault. So many memories. How long has she been in gymnastics? I don't think this could be school supported at this age. Is she in a club?
No, Jaye. 😩 I was a bad Nana. No Blankie for Anna.
Anna is a little sweetie face!!!! So sad the miles are there huh? My grandbaby will be an hour away from us. Not so bad but just enough so you can not go everyday. Kinda jealous that her mother in law just lives two or three miles away from them. Is that a bad thing to say? But an very glad she is there for her.
It was suppose to be a rainy day but no rain yet. Glad. So it is a good thing. Really overcast and windy again.
Just ordered a few things from audubon workshop. Two different hydrangeas and a clematis. So happy for that!!!
Barb, what a smile on the face of the gymnastist. So beautiful.
Bluebonnets are beautif LK. Would be great to see all those in the spring.
Very pretty Linda, so spring---y
Cookie, shame on you!! Perhaps you could start quilting? Your first project will be a baby quilt for Anna. Sewing machines for beginners ain't that costly. I know some sistahs will be glad to send you fabric ;)
Ronna, clematis is one of my favorites! Last year I had indulged in quite a few.. hoping they return this year as I failed to sufficiently mulch them. The old ones are showing new growth.
Never know LK. I haven't seen my extended family in Houston for 8 years. Would love to make that trip in Spring. Your wreaths are beautiful!!
Ah the joy of checking this thread and seeing what all you wonderful ladies are doing. All the pictures are fantastic from blue bonnets, wreaths and adorable granddaughters! Of course they all take after their grandmothers.
Not much here...more doctors appointments, another ear infaction for Sue and the much dreaded panic attacks. She had a bad one today when my DIL called to give me the dates of the play my GDs are in......thoughts I will be leaving her. Will be discussing this tomorrow with her therapist and on Wednesday with the psychiarist. I will have been here almost 10 weeks by that time and truly feel in need of a break. Please keep us in your prayers
Thank you Karen for the article from google. It will be something I will look into when the times get rough. I'm sure our insurance has this, I will check into it to be sure.
(((Marion))), I hope Sue gets better very soon. If she could have you there forever she would be happy, but you have a life of your own with kids and grandkids and you just can't give that up even though you love your sister dearly. You are in my prayers.
Susan, I hope that job has your name on it. That desk sounds great, already wondering where I would put it here. It would take up an entire wall in my office.
I've got my printer working again with the help from the Geek Squad. Just forgot to ask him how I take my resume from Word and put it in my documents. I know how to send an attachment, but can't get it out of word. Just thinking about all that tech stuff gives me a terrible headache.
Joyce & Jaye - thanks :-)
I'm hoping for A job... but the Bookkeeper / Treasurer position would make me VERY happy.
The other one....... only 18 blocks away? a "wee stretch of the legs" in the summer!
Pegi - this desk is PERFECT - Tonight I actually had room to do 2 months worth of Income/Expenses, and sp.....rea...........d...... the paperwork out lol
Thank you ladies for your sweet comments about my Sophia. Yes, she belongs to a gymnastics club. New England Gymnastics Training Center. She started just about a year and a half ago and has been in competition for the past six months. She has come so far since her first one.
LK I just love the blue/white wreath!!! That is so pretty. Actually, they both are - I'm just partial to blues. That is one of the downers here - nothing allowed on our doors. And I have several hangings for throughout the year. So now they go on the walls......
LK, you are one very talented lady! The wreaths are lovely.
Marion, come check out the Gathering thread!
a red and white one would look just wonderful on my front door, or maybe just white cuz the door is Alabama red!!!!
my in laws will be here Saturday, so I am n a frenzy trying to shampoo carpets, put fresh linen on the beds, grocery shop, clean the yard from the flood, and go to revival 3 nites this week. i'm wore out already, but the lord took the pain from my hip where I feell laast nite, so this will all be a breeze
Do you have more energy since you're on this new diet? Cause what you just wrote is making me want to go back to bed I'm so tired reading it! 😴
yup, the vitamins are super energy, and the diet pills also give you energy. off to the post office, to mail candy. my grandsons box weighs 15 pounds. his mother told me to take half of it out, but I didn't. he he!
That's what gramma's do!!
