I'm right there with Barb and wishing everyone on the roads of the USA and Canada safe travels ..
Betty, I just could NOT imagine going through Atlanta at rush hour !

Want to hug you all for your more than kind thought and prayers for our son Murray.
If you were to meet him, you would love him .. he's just that kind of guy .. wouldn't hurt a fly, kind and caring .. for him to have turned down the job is really something, tells us it HAD to have been a bad situation. He will be staying on another MONTH (his penance) .. CPRail MAY fly him home fro DGS Austin's 13th birthday in April.

Off for coffee with some nursey buds .. always a fun time ..

Barb, your quilting is splendid! The 'tree skirt' I got at Xmas will be kepr safe and handed down to Brooklyn ..

Hope Susan and Marion's Sue are doing well .. as well as Katie and everyone else too ..

PS .. Katie, how's the tooth?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Betty, hope traveling is easy for you and the menagerie today.

Sherry and I are going to the Catholic Church for the fish fry tonight. She is fighting a cold, but doesn't feel too bad.

I have to take some Garden Club paperwork to my Vice President today. Our April meeting is Tuesday, and I won't be here. Dang, she works at a garden center. That will be so hard for me, going to a place that has flowers and garden doodads! I'll try to persevere.😄

It's already in the 50s here. I'm ready for a real warm up!

Glad Murray has made his decision to come back. Hope the month goes quickly for him. Wonder how pink would look in salt and pepper hair? Probably pretty bad!

Hope Sue is doing okay. Hope Marion is doing okay, too!

I'm glad someone mentioned your new picture, Barb, cause I looked at that and wondered how long it had been there that I hadn't noticed. Now I know it wasn't too long.

LK, are you still going with hubby for your thing next week? Haven't heard you mention it recently.

Judy, hope you're as excited as I am about our upcoming fun!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Safe travels Betty, hope you can get through the traffic jam quickly!

No traveling for me today, but to Austin next week end with Todd for the car show!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning...
OH Yessirre Sunshine, I am packed and ready to go!! As a matter a fact, DH gave me some Cash, LOL told me he was making an appointment to get my hair cut!! ROFLOL, Said you can't see your friends with frizzy ends...hahaha, I was thinking, maybe keep the cash and cut ends myself. Well maybe I better not...
hahah, i'm crackin my self up at the thought, hmmm, uh ya I NEED to see my Sistahs.

Speaking of, Cute with the Pink M...If it were up to me, I'd have a really short pixie style cut, but DH would divorce me, sigh...lol he is way old school and always said Indians are Suppose to have long hair! OMG, Once i did cut it really short about neckline short and the man wouldn't talk to me for a while, lol so i just get the trim probably 2inches...OH and the raciest I ever got was when Liz came and put the Purple feather in my hair...Oh wow, I'll take it with and she can put in for me again.

Safe traveling Betty and Dar, lol watch out for corn fields.

Awe, I feel for Murray. But, you know he was willing to give it a shot, how disappointing for him but wonderful for you he will be home. Hope the Month goes quickly...Yes i will keep both eyes wide open when it comes to my baby P, which reminds me going to look up the thing about bird sight.

Hi Dianne...How are you doing? Was glad you and the pups got to take a nice walk the other day. Just take it slow, hope they are still mindful about your soreness.

Barbara, You have a wonderful visit! Yep i like your new photo too.
Thanks about my 3 B's..Breenie, Bird, & Bud (jake)...He is so funny, About 10 he starts going a bit nutso, said he doesn't know what to do with himself, So yesterday, He cleaned the kitchen for me, lol and so my break begins too! Currently he is on the hunt for an affordable vehicle, narrowed down to 3 choices.
Oh gosh the nice thing about break is All the buddies are coming around, lol forgot how the door keeps revolving with his visitors! Very nice to see all these young people progressing so well...One of "our" boys Scott just purchased a Condo! Was great catching up with him, haven't seen him for long while.

Woohoo, booked our first Rental for July at the cottage...

Well, today is shopping day...got a small list of things i must take care before going.
Oh here is a first, made a Pot roast yesterday. LOL took a lot longer to cook then i thought, so well have it tonight. But the first being, I added a cup of red wine...I was laughing at the thought of it going to be very tasty or were going to be drunk.

Well, i forgot all i wanted to say so, I better feed myself, starting to shake from all the coffee, lol.
Have a great morning everyone.

Hello, and thanks so much for the kind and understanding words.

The last few days have been busy...not bad...just busy.

I went shopping for the baby, bought a bassinet that she wants for her bedside and some odds and ends.

Also got the outfit for the shower and a pair of shoes which ended up being FREE with my Kohls' cash.

The weather is in the 50's here Betty.....but windy. AND...the craft show in Hamburg is this weekend. No....don't think I will go, have done enough running the last few days.

Waving and hugs to all....safe travels Betty & Darlene.

HALLLLOOOOO ^_^

I SO eny the SISTAHS meetin ^_^
I doubt I'll ever get to one, but, I guess I shouldn't say NEVER .. Betty is 2 days away, maybe we'll do a NORTHERNERS get together ?
Hec .. Thunder Bay is a beautiful city ..
At any rate .. E N J O Y !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all of you , thank you for your support with regards to Murray, I know many of you have 'been there' .. I am just SO glad Murray followed his heart .. and, I am not going to to say much about his DW Alison .. she and I have a mutual "I can take you or leave you' thing happening, I also know many of you have been at THAT address too !!

Judy, Lorna is native, and, her hair is SHORT !! Because she's so active she cut her long hair .. actually, she's an APPLE .. not a derogatory term in these parts .. simply means she was adopted at birth by a non native family and raised out of her culture ..
Her parents are the most awesome folks .. Lorna and her brother are both adopted .. her brother is also native .. anyway, her parents are just wonderful people.

Did you find a site re 'bird vision'?

Good to see you posting Susan ^_^

I am SO ripped right now .. one of the popular city radio stations, my fave, changed GENRES !!
They had a BIG announcement at noon, which I missed as I was havin coffee with the gurls, came out .. turned the car on .. my classic rock channel is now COUNTRY!!!!!!!
Everyone likes what they like, but I am more a Beatles, Eagles CCR fan, than I am Country ..
Wrote'em and told them so too ..

Betty .. I hope the trip is going well

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Debbie, are you having a shower for the new baby?

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Judy called me, and she told me I was bad...said I needed to get over here and post!!! so here I am.

I have posted here and there in sewing threads, did not realize I was not posting anything here?? in so long........... I sorry. all's well. I guess.

Had an excellent visit with my girls. we just stayed home and did fun stuff. played games, did puzzles and crafts. we glued a zillion Popsicle sticks, had a fun time with it.

Malena has good days, and bad days. can't blame her I am much the same. some days I just want to sit and cry, so how is a four year old supposed to grasp " daddy is away" ?? I try to deal with it. she does too, but when she gets upset....she lets the tears fly. sometimes Momma has to go get her early from school, but those days are getting farther apart....

the baby is contemplating walking !!! she stands up on her own, and squeals like crazy...to be sure someone is seeing her. It is so dang cute ♥ she takes a few steps and then plops back down and crawls. she will walk quite a ways if you hold on to both her hands.

We got to skype with the Levi, twice while we were there ^_^ that was awesome.

otherwise everything is S.S.D.D....go to work... come home... hang out with the hubs. sew a little here and there...go to work...repeat.

Betty, safe travels.

same to the rest of you going to be gathering soon. I gave Judy orders to give Y'All special hugs for me. ♥♥♥

Drats Debbie, you telling me that the craft show is this weekend..was just saying to Dar that if it was in the next week or so I'd bring mom and aunt Muriel, it would have filled in the weekend..not wearing a happy face BUT smilling Debbie that temps are ok

I pouted when I got to the exit (hwy 71) that I knew if I crossed I could visit with Joyce for a bit but had to drive by, yours ears must have been ringing Joyce..was thinking of ll the good fun things we'vedone

Barb, can't wait for norm to put the hooks up, anxious to see your blocks

Thunder, I waved as I passed Wildwood, can't believe I'm always so close and we've never met..was at your place and met your son a few years ago but you were road running, perhaps another year.

Judy you will have so much fun at the reunion..how many are going?

Glad your trip is going well. I knew you couldn't stop with Adar and the kitties. I surely would have LOVED seeing you though!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry Betty, package arrived yesterday. Thanks so much?
Glad to hear your day of travel went well through Georgia. Are you stopping to see Debbie to get your goodies from past swaps?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Meant to say hello to Thunder. So glad to see you posting. Sounds like those littles ones are growing so quickly! How much longer till the boys are back home?

Verona, ON

Hope Betty gets herself home before this next storm hits. Snow and freezing rain in the forecast for overnight and into tomorrow. Rats, that's all she will need to face at the end of a long drive. When my DB had his business still in TO and Ft Lauderdale he used to drive straight through all by himself. Crazy!!!

Was chuckling to myself about the baby shower Debbie as it reminded me so much of the shower my Italian soon to be inlaws gave for me. Over 150 people, better meal than we had at the wedding. I never got to open 1 gift as there so many. My soon to be aunts opened all the presents showed me what they were and I stood at a microphone and thanked each person. The very best gift was a fancy hot pink negliege (sp) outfit from an 89 year old great aunt. We all laughed at that. They even played Bingo and had prizes if there was a sticker under your tea cup.Take all the pics you want.... if Carrie doesn't want to be in them fine but at least you can show us the decor. (((Debbie))) I know this is a difficult time for you.

Have a blast Judy!

Thunder good to see you. Glad you had such a great time with your grands.

Love the pink M.I need my hair cut desperately but need to go into Kingston to do it. Maybe in a couple of weeks time I will feel like driving in. I was so excited with the weather these last few days and now this pending storm.

LK are you over all your crud? That's been a long haul for you.

Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crud is slowly getting there I think. My worst problem is the strong heart beat and jitters from the albuterol! Sleep is a precious thing right now.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wish I could help in some way!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty, I betcha you're home by now ? OR, not far from it ..
Like Dianne says, I sure hope you miss the PREDICTED bad weather, we're supposedly in a storms eye as well.
Friends of mine in Fla are battening down the hatches as there is a TORNADO watch in Venice City .. you sure left Fla at the right time !!

Thunder , good to see you posting, your wee gurls sound sweet, can imagine the 4yr old taking a bit to get used to the absence.
My nephew is going back to Brussels Belgium .. he and his wife have gone and left their 2 young people (18 and 20) at home in Ottawa .. thing is, he'll be with NATO for perhaps 5 years .. both 'kids' are in univ.

Debbie .. just try and enjoy the shower.I went to my BFF daughter in laws, held after the baby was born, in a hall, 100 there .. decorated to the teeth .. I kept asking Jo (my BFF) if I OWED any money .. nope, the families took care of everything .. for the second baby, I bowed out and sent Mom a card and a gift certificate ..

Worried about Katie, hope she posts soon .. Marion and Susan as well ..

Dianne .. I wanted MORE taken off my hair, but, the hairdresser said NO .. means I have to go back sooner I guess .. today will be the first time of wash it, going to a 'hen party' tongiht .. a friend is marrying her long time partner, this'll be a first for me ..their wedding is May 3 .. never been to a same sex wedding, but, there sure is lotsa stuff in the Hallmark stores in so far as cards ..

Lorna has a GYMONGOUS bruise on her left hip, carries all the way up!!! She feels it's because her new leg is hitting a certain area .. I sure hope so, she's laying down with an ice pack on it .. with her being on warfarin I worry !!! Says she feels fine ...

Best get at it here..

That storm is to hit here tonight and rain all day tomorrow. Norm took me out this morning so I could get some yarn and needles and such. I have a dear friend who is going to be a Grammy soon and I want to make a couple of sweater sets for her. I have already made a quilt for the new one but I gave it to my friend to give. Then I thought it might be a bit tacky to give another quilt so I'm knitting instead. I'll make another quilt after a while - maybe an I spy
one....
Norm got the hooks up for my design wall. I want to let it hang for a while to get the wrinkles out from being folded up so long. Then I'll get some pictures of these BOMs for you Betty....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon all

Coming on to wave'hi perfect trip, weather sure did cooperate!

Hard on Dar today, she had emailed her sister when we left, few times over the trip, called when we reached Canada and no answer so immediately and especially after dreaming her mom had died last night she was convinced her mom had passed on! So nerves were tense.

She was a good sport though and stopped at joanns in Buffalo so I'm stocked up with thread and fabric till next time I go..

Got almost to barrie Nd she tried her sister, mom failing ut was alive..Dar didn't want me to sit in the car sitting the kitties but I insisted she go visit her mom, had something happened between now and tomorrow she would never have forgiven herself.

Lo and behold, she said her mom was nicely dressed in bright colors, hairdresser had been in and Mae looked just like a doll...Dar came out of the home just beaming.

Yikes, did get rain here, snow compacted but not much, here I oped I could get to the back shed and finally put those Christmas totes away, but won't happen this weekend bless the boys drop in.

Before I got too comfy took a quick run to Foodland, imagine me craving a roast beef dinner but tired of restaurants and fast food sooo din din is cooking.

Barb, looking forward to seeing those blocks, think it took days. For mine to rid itself of the wrinkles. Must show you the pretty Easter fabric I bought, will work this week to make Mel and Julie a runner, who knows, think I made enough. Fabric for one for me.

No didn't meet up with Debbie, no socializing when travelling with Dar, hard with her babes the kitties. Am sure within weeks I will be back in Buffalo and maybe we can meet up there.

LindaKay, glad it arrived, now you can join me and make more tote bags..reminds me, cut out a bunch, won't take me long to do though.

Wonder where Katie is as wel l, often unwell, worry she is alone..thankful that Tony drops in.

Dianne, drats hooe the storm they are calling for misses us both.

Read all your posts, going to get comfy and go unpack, heck I will even share photo's of. The lovely fabric I found. And for you Joyce, will share my new pretties. Lol

Ohhh my friend the little black squirrel is eating from the feeder, so missed watching him all winter..looks a bit bedraggled but I will fatten him up

Ahh, just missed hitting a bunch of deer at daybreak in PA, thankfully Dar saw movement and there was only a car a bit of a ways behind me, I pulled off the road as did the other car, startled them and they kept going back from where they came from then back towards where they were going, 2 or 3 times..during this came a transport and he wasn't concerned about hitting them or not, had plenty of time to stop but just motored by, thankfully these little ones by then decided not to cross..should have had my camera out

Be back in a bit

H everyone, Don't worry. I'm OK. I should be able to see the dentist on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm more in a state of being aware that something is wrong than in a lot of pain.

Got an email from my niece a couple of days ago and it precipitated a lot of mental housecleaning. Spent most of yesterday and last night writing and writing. What we call hairballs. Old stuff, some funny in a way, some painful. I wrote it down so if it pops up in my mind again I can remember that I already have it written down so I don't have to think about it. I only slept about an hour but I was able to be up for most of time Tony was here and to assure him I'll be OK tomorrow - his day off.

I have more energy than I've had in a while. I've got the patio off my bedroom almost all cleaned up.

It has been rough the last few months; really since I crashed my ambulance and realized how close I had come to killing myself, maybe not so accidently. It was a serious wake up call. Dianne, are you listening. I have promised my niece that I will not commit suicide - she has lost too many relatives that way and I won't ever add that to the crap she already has to live with. But the accident brought home to me how depressed I was.

My neighbor Dana said something very interesting to me a while back. She knows I have ongoing issues with depression and she said, seriously, "I don't get depressed so I don't know what it's like." Her lack of depression is as foreign to me as my depression is to her. Something to think about. Imagine never being depressed and not knowing what it's like I ponder.

With all the writing some things have become clearer and I'm hoping I will continue to have more energy and joie de vivre.

Enough philosophy, I have a lot of deal leaves to sweep up and add to the compost. Cooked a large pot of chicken and rice yesterday so the dogs are taken care of. They are all quite happy and remind me of how wonderful they think I am. Who could ask for more?

My schotia tree is starting to bloom. It's about thirty feet tall now and I grew it from a seed, starting about ten years ago. It has lots of nectar so the birds will be flocking in. Google has some great pictures of these. I also have a desert rose that is covered in pink and white blossoms, drawing compliments from everyone who sees it. And I have enough squash and parsley to share. And little papayas on a couple of trees.

Sorry not to have posted for a while. I know you worry and I appreciate it so I try to check in often enough that you know I'm OK.

hugs, katie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Wonderful post Katie. And we do worry. But I'm so happy to read a smile in this post. Depression is hard to deal with and I'm fortunate that I only have suffered from mild cases now and then. It sure isn't fun.
Sounds like spring has certainly arrived there. We are expecting snow to hail to rain tomorrow. A miserable day and one to stay put.... Maybe I will knit for a change....

Lyndonville, NY

Barb, if you are getting what we are....stay in the house. There are accidents everywhere.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks Deb. I made sure I got out today so I can stay put tomorrow. I would need to be desperate to go out in that stuff.....
