Thanks everyone for thoughts and prayers, and now, another loss ... good grief .. not that grief is good ..
Got a text to call a cousin .. I did .. fer crying out loud .. her sister's son, 33, dropped dead yesterday. There are 3 sisters in the family .. Mom and Dad passed over the last year (my Aunt and Uncle) .. the middle daughter Colleen has 2 sons, and 'Kas' is the one who has passed.
These girls are just now coming to terms with their parents passings 6 months apart, now this ..
Ya know what? 2014 better start getting a whole lot happier !!

Having a cuppa, and waiting to speak to my brother, who is at the funeral home with his daughter helping her with Wayne's arrangements ..

OH NO! So sorry. Whats going on, so many are passing?


I have to share a funny from yesterday.

While I was at the Dr.'s office getting a breathing treatment, the Dr's assistant came in to give me my TB test, and she had a student in training with her. The student ask the nurse how do you practice giving shots? The assistant turned to her and said she learned years ago while she was learning at a nursing home, she said she took old wieners and and injected them. We all knew what she meant, but we all looked at each other and started laughing so hard. I stopped my breathing treatment for a few seconds, and said, oh those poor old men! We all laughed for about 5 minutes! Then she said, I meant hot dog, not wieners!!! ^_^

So sorry for another loss. Hugs coming your way.

Can believe how it is pouring down on some of my friends here. Fervent prayers for all of you.

My neighbor who brought my meds is home and will be down to bring them to me soon.

Clinic head told me to call about the dentist tomorrow.

Things are quiet here. Haven't heard from my niece in a while; hoping that means her life is busy and wonderful.

I'm looking forward both to having pain killers and to seeing the dentist.

Dogs are all fine. Except for Max occasionally snarling and snapping they are all quiet mellow. They greet every new day joyfully and I usually join them with big hugs all around.

Oh, LK, thanks so much for telling me. Darius spent the night with us a few years ago at round-up time. She laid her hands on Bill's gout and relieved so much of his pain. She didn't often speak about her healing hands but we're living proof that she had them!

I will surely miss her.

Sounds like she will be missed by a lot of folks!

I'm back home for a week. Hugs to all that can use them. Finally got to hold our new baby Becka and she is now home.
Got a call from DGS who was holding down the fort here and furnace quit, repair person said it has a cracked heat exchanger which means a new furnace. UGH. The next day our tenant called and the furnace there wouldn't stay lit. Fortunately it can be repaired and the bank will renew our line of credit loan which I had so proudly paid off several months ago.
Heading back downstate the end of next week, kids want to surprise hubby with a family dinner for his 75th. Then it's on to TN for a couple days with DGD then hubby will drop me off in Pigeon Forge for a couple days. I am going even though the 2nd is our anniversary. I guess we can celebrate on the way over.
Sweet Caroline and Jojo were so happy to finally get to see and hold Baby Becka. Caroline just says over and over, I love Baby Becka so much.

"M" I so know what you are feeling. My oldest son and his family live in Colorado Springs, CO
which is 2000 miles away from me. It takes a while to come to terms with it but you will. Do have Skype on your computer? You might want to invest in that and a good web cam.
How is Lorna making out regarding a new leg?
Glad to hear things are quiet for you Katie. Between meds and the dentist, you will be on top of the world.

How is Dad doing LK? I keep him in my prayers. I, too, will miss Darius. I loved to read her postings.

Could you tell me how far from where one would obtain marriage certificate..they say I can't get it from Toronto, would have to be thunder bay?? Not sure if one has to get it themselves or if someone could go get it for me??

You know the problems I have with having documents in one name, really need to have 1 only

Here in the states, you have to go to the county court house where you were married. Don't know about Canada.

No all our records are stored in major gmt offices, mine happen to be in thunder bay

While as a recreation coordinator for township of Georgian Bay I worked with a then councillor for Coldwater..he is now Mpp for our district..oh happy days, he will try (his staff) to obtain proper documents for me

I had to go through the Thunder Bay office to get a copy of my marriage certificate Betty. Your MPP should be able to do it ... maybe he will even adsorb the cost.

I for one will miss Darius greatly. She was full of wisdom and wit as well as being a gourmet cook. I learned a lot from her over the years. So glad her passing was fast as I know she would hate to linger. DG has lost a stellar gardener but on the upside heaven has gained one.

OOOOOOooooooooooo, Lorna's new 'socket' is beauteous ... if I get a chance I'll take a pic, she has her leg off right now .. she goes back Monday to have it checked, a good thing as the inner side is riding up a bit in her groin area ... the fitting of these things is tricky business I must say as the prosthetist has to search out the brim of the socket ti ensure it's correct, he always apologizes profusely, but really, in the end, it doesn't really matter .. he's a professional ..

Made Caesar salad with grilled chicken for supper, everyone is full and, STINKY LoL

Sue is up and down. The doctor is still trying to find an antidepression medicine that doesn't agrevate the situation ....so far we know Cymbalta and Prozac made her worse. Cymbalta made her so sick she had to go the ER. Prozac caused her depression to be worse. They are trying Soloft (?) now plus 3 therapy sessions a week.

No clue how long I will be here. The doctor told me today she still needs to have someone with her so......

Got to barrie and changed limo first having to make one stop..he went right through a stop sign, thankfully no one was on the road..almost asked him if he didn't like that stop sign but thought better of it.
