Betty, glad you made it to the airport safe and sound. Now have a safe flight!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I started those albuterol breathing treatments, and they don't let me sleep very well. The Dr. told me it would take time for my body to get used to them. They make me very jittery/antsy!

I am taking off in about an 30 minutes, just checking my list twice, making sure I have everything!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

As always Betty, all the best, god speed and travel safe ..

Linda K, much the same sentiments to you .. enjoy the BDay weekend ^_^

Laughing re Gibbs .. NCIS is a staple here on Tuesday evenings AND, anytime it can be found .. not too happy about Dziva having left the cast though, she was a great actress.

Barb, hope your tummy is more settled.

I am desperately trying NOT to think of Murray's impending move .. they are all coming over on Saturday, and I KNOW I will be a blubbering idiot .. but, he is my ONE and only, never thought he'd leave TBay, but a $30K raise is kind of hard to say no to, as well as other perks.
Nail day today .. maybe the pampering will make me feel better ..
Tomorrow is one funeral, and, my niece's partner may have chosen 'no service' ..

Have a great weekend everyone

Toodles

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Fly safe Betty. And enjoy when you get there!!!!
Safe travels for you too Linda Kay. Can't believe Dylan is two!!!!! Albuterol takes a while to get used to I know but it sure helps me. Hope it works for you too.
Holding you close "M". Sure do understand.
Good morning Dianne. Hope your fingers are better!!! LOL
Off to pulmonary doc today - hoping he will tell me I can go out more often now.....

mulege, Mexico

Have a safe trip, Betty. Hope your mom and sister will let you enjoy your time away.

I talked to the clinic person again yesterday. The dentist is here but will not start seeing people for about ten days so I have to call back in a week. Very frustrating.

I did get my meds which is a huge relief. I've been living in fear of the tooth really flaring up. Still have a dull pain but it's tolerable. Just distracting so I'm not trying to do much as I don't want to risk hurting myself.

Our weather is very comfortable. I'm enjoying it.

Wish I had more energy but pain just sucks it out of me. As many of you also know.

I will take a pain pill and see if I can get the dirty dishes washed. Not much danger doing that.

hugs, katie

Love to all

Verona, ON

Careful Katie - all sorts of dangerous things can lurk in a sink full of dirty dishes.Glad your pain pills arrived. Have you found a safe place to 'hide' you pain pills so they won't walk away again?

Wow M that's some raise Murray is being offered!!!!! Just think, his moving will give you and your DH reasons to step away together for some stolen days. Did you mention how your DH made out at his show? If you did I either forgot or didn't read it. The shows, both the arts and crafts plus home/cottage shows in this area are way down in attendance this year.

Hope you got your walking papers at the doc's Barb. Once this snow has melted it will be wonderful for you to stretch your legs in the outdoors. While Warren anxiously awaited the arrival of spring he hated how spring started off smelling. According to him spring reeked to high heaven. lol

Safe travels LK. Like everyone else I am having trouble believing Dylan is 2 already.

After a dreary start to the day it is absolutely gorgeous out there. I only needed a hoodie when I was out with the pups. The pups are full of P and V today so spring must definitely be here. They have been so good this last while. I swear they understand and know why I haven't been walking them as much.

(((Debbie)))

Good to see you pop in Susan. I was thinking of you today when I heard Calgary's weather report.Understand we here on Ontario are in for some colder temps and snow again. Boo and a hiss!!!!

Joyce have the coyotes been back? They like the rest of the wildlife are very hungry so are venturing farther afield and being more vocal about it. The pups and I get to listen to that yipping almost every night and it just ramps up in the summer. There are 2 dens on the farm and they often have vocal challenges starting about 2 am. Glad your Dh has a rifle. I keep a loaded one in the closet by the front door. I had to stop feeding the dogs outside in the nicer weather as the coyotes would come right up to the house looking for leftover kibble.

Well I am going to assume our Betty has landed in the land of sun and is off having an adventure.

The Van Morison CD I was listening to just ended so the pups and I need to discuss who is next. My preference would be Jim Croce but I think they are up for the Doors.

Dianne

Will pop back here in a bit, just wanted to SHARE this wonderful piece with all of you ...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Isn't she amazing? I have seen this before and I'm still in awe.... Thanks "M"~~~

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Van Morrison is definitely one of my favourites too Dianne .. but, I sure wouldn't snivel at Jim Croce or the Doors either ^_^
DH and the fullahs made out VERY well at the Sportsmans Show .. 1400 people over 2 days, for here that's beyong awesome. They made close to $5000. for the junior shooters.
Sigh, Austin (DGS) was one of them, guess that's gone now as well as the bagpipes .. gads, this just gets worse and worse.

Light, fine snow here .. won't accumulate to much I'm sure .. but, it'll cover the 'dog logs' I hadn't yet picked up ..

DH brother and wife will be on the same flight as Murray to Winnipeg on Sunday, they are headed to Guadalajara MX for a couple of weeks ..

LindaK, have had patients who SO wanted to quit the albuterol, but, stuck with it with wonderful results .. hope ya feel better.

Thanks for the hu gs Barb, sure need them.

The link I posted in the previous post, is just way too wonderful, and, if anyone on board has a love of 'Fresian horses' (like me) .. i have a most awesome link to share.

HI SUSAN .. and Debbie as well ..

Katie, take care .. and hope the tooth behaves

She is indeed amazing, I've also seen this before, wonderful what determination can accomplish.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I would love the link "M". My grandson is leaving next weekend to tour the University at Findlay, Ohio, which is a premier equestrian school. He is so excited about this chance. It is expensive so I don't know if he will go there for sure but just being accepted there is a feather in his cap... Only take 65 students a year.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Barb, that is quite an accomplishment for your DGS ^_^
Here's the link .. just breathtaking ..
In the small community I live in, there are 2 farms with Fresians .. they are GORGEOUS beyond words !!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,
Great flight and omg sunshine and 89..am too tired to do a happy dance!

Just got in, Darlene and Kathy met me at airport then off to fleamasters..ended up buying myself 4 tops, a top and pants for Linda for her birthday..Joyce didn't have the piece you wanted bit there was a nice black/white set that I liked, had they had 2 od same I'd have also bought one for me..know you wanted the big lue set as a gift item, didn't have exact one but had one with blue flowers that is quite pretty..now remember, if either one is not to your liking I can keep them.

Then Joann's, thought I could use the 40% off one item then the 25% off entire order but no way..didn't matter, still got good buys..also got 3 more no sew lancets and Karen did buy that magazine with the coupons at the back..will get to use them next time I'm in Buffalo, Ted for nfo.

We had all kids of plans with Kathy, we dropped her off only for her to call to say they would leave tomorrow for Minnesota..while we were shopping her husband got news his sister is on her death bed so she is packing up and will leave in the mornings..drats.

Read all your posts, have lots to respond to but just off for supper with Darlene..will try to say hi to each of you before bed, if not, early morning it will be.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Anxious to see! Glad you're safe!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Had to copy that link for my DD's God-daughter, Elizabeth.( I call her my God-granddaughter.) She's quite the equestrian, and to think it all started when she fell in love with our Joe Horse when she was 5.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all..no words to describe the fresians, so agile..thanks for the link.

Barb, wish Brandon all his best..here is hoping he is accepted..Findlay, isn't that where Janice lives?? We haven't heard from her of late, got a card from Tinker alng with photo's of the children, must try to contact them. What did the doctor have to say today??

"M" sending mega hugs to you, difficult weekend for you..will Murray's wife and family follow him out right away or will they stay and the kids finish off their school year.. Know they had thoughts earlier when it was a possibility but now that it's official they may have other thoughts.

Dianne, thinking of you as they say yet another storm brewing..you aren't without wood are you? Bet there a lot who already used up for allotment..

Katie, that is a long time for you to be waiting with an injected tooth..

Got an email from Rita, she is excited, bought a hammer and crowbar, going to do work at her house today and tomorrow.

Just sitting, feeling the dampness but sun should be out shortly so best I have breakfast and see what the day will bring.. Have to at least go to the post office , nothing else on my to do list, yikes what shall I do with nothing to do

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Fresians are so special. Brandon has ridden them and had the care of six of them for about six months. A lady hired him to be a barn hand for her before she went to South Carolina and took the horses there too. They are really big!!!!

Saw the pulmonologist yesterday and he says I'm doing good. I need more exercise so now I want warmer weather more than ever. I can go out more now but need to be careful when it is windy. So today I am going to a quilt show!!!! I'm psyched. It is only a small local one but I am getting out to something I enjoy so it is a double blessing.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Just read your last post Betty and It sounds like you are settling in. Shopping already!!!!!
Try to get some rest in the sun - for all the rest of us. WL said today would be in low 40's and then turning colder again for all next week. You picked a good week to be gone that's for sure.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Barb, is a great way to spend the day, a quilt show is great medicine and just what the doctor ordered.it Is really hard to get excercize when you couldn't get outside but thankfully good weather is on its way..aren't I being a positive person. See if I say that when I return home. Lol

Seeing as we were in the region already yesterday it just. Made sense that I get some of what I wanted done.

Suppose to be a few rainy days here, but rain never is all day but in preparation that it may I just might research other fabric shops n the region.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL! Betty, this is Florida where the weather forecast changes every 2 hours.

Love the link re: horses. Beautiful creatures for sure..poetry in motion regardless of size. They show some each year when the Red Hill International Horse Trails are in progress.

Been keeping up best I can but there are days it is difficult. Things are not progressing as well as the doctor and therapist think at this point. Serious issues happening today and it is a watch and see situation for a while. Currently my sister is asleep after having paced all night. Depending on things when she wakes, I might be taking her to the hospital re: doctor and therapist. Prayers needed here big time!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just back from the beach, don't want to get too much sun too quickly or I will pay for it.

Sending prayers Marion, overwhelming to sit with Sue and watch what seems endless torture for her.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It is and it isn't. Atleast I can be here for her. Surprised? No, Kim and I have been really afraid this is what was coming just didn't know when it would happen.

Enjoy the sun but don't get burned!!!

Verona, ON

Betty I know you are really going to be upset by what I have to tell you - you missed a snowstorm. We had quite the snowfall last night. The fresh snow on top of the now frozen melt of the last 2 days has made walking treacherous. The dogs raced out the door first thing this morning only to go head over teakettle on the ice. I'll not be going far today either on foot or by car. I got enough wood inside for 24 hours but didn't want to tempt the fates and have another spill.

Not out of wood Betty but I sure have had to dip into the wood earmarked for next winter.I've put my order in for the tractor trailer load of logs but you can never get a solid delivery date from the guy.He always gives you the best hardwood so you sort of just know he can't be pinned down for delivery. He also calls just as he is leaving the bush so if I want to pay him cash I sometimes have to scramble around to get it.

Marion sending prayers and positive thoughts. This has to be hard on you as well. It is very difficult to watch a loved one disassemble before your very eyes. We're here for you.

LK how is the birthday boy doing? Having a blast at his party> How are you feeling today?

How was the quilt show Barb? I could feel your excitement.

M are you going to have a family dinner before M leaves or will it be too hard for you all to handle? Considering this was sprung on you all so quickly I am sure M and his DW have lots to do to get him ready to fly off tomorrow night.Big hugs for you.

Glad you are being wise about how much time you are spending in the sun Betty. Heck you wouldn't want a bad sunburn too get in the way of your shopping.

Judy what are you up to this week?

Mary how are you doing balancing your work load? How is Lance making out with all these new responsibilities? It has to be hard for you both.

I have had no energy or inclination to do anything the last few days. Its like my get up and go has gone. This is so not like me. I think winter has finally got to me.Can't wait to get outside and start cleaning up the yard and gardens.

Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Darlene just asked what I was laughing about, told her what you said I was missing lol NOT!

Got an email from Greg late this afternoon, of course it was after i sent him an email saying it was 91 and that I spent morning at the beach, he replied it was warm at homeas well, 35 but 12 inches of snow..of course after being in Labrador the weather today for him is warm.

Dianne surely if he brings logs you will not be the one splitting them will you? That would do you in..

I'm with you, last week I looked out into the gardens and wondered just how many shrubs/trees and Perrenials I'd have lost..won't it feel nice to put our hands in soil..

Calling it a night..tired
Dianne, I always keep just enough energy for shopping ..grinning

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good evening Dianne. Hoping you are inside, warm and cozy with the puppies and kitty. And I pray you do NOT need to go out for more wood until it is safe to do so. I thought you were training Diesel to get it for you!! LOL

Sounds like Betty is having fun already!!!!

The quilt show was wonderful. It is one put on every two years by the local guild here in Manchester. They have about 150 members from here and the surrounding towns and put on quite a show. There were nearly 200 quilts displayed and they were just gorgeous. I took a few pictures which I will post later as they are still in my camera. And there were lots of wonderful vendors who were more than excited to talk about their wares. I met another quilter who lives near me here. She is one I "met" on line and we were able to actually meet today. She is a sweetheart. So as you can tell, I had a great time. I'm so tired tonight and I can tell I need to work on building up my stamina again. I'm just plain exhausted!!!! But very happy with all I saw and the ideas in my head now......

Keeping you and Sue in my prayers Marion. May God grant you the strength I know you'll need. I'm still hoping you will be able to get away for the weekend with the girls....

Keeping you close "M" and sending prayers for safe travels for your son. Is he the only one going right now? I'm sure you told us but my rememberer isn't working too good lately.

Off to do my nephew's taxes. At least it is not the very last minute.......

Emotional days here ..
Yesterday was my young cousins sons funeral .. 450 people + filled the ballroom of a local events centre to watch a video of his life and share stories, and the luncheon was amazing .. all paid for by the Casino he was a supervisor at ..
I cried and cried because I kept thinking about my Murray ..
He and his family came to the house just around 2pm yesterday .. my 2 grands walked in and I lost it ..
It's just Murray going at this time, for 2-3 weeks of orientation .. and I am happy he has been promoted, but, I will miss them all .. especially Murray .. he's our one and only.
The kids seem 'ok' with whats happeneing, they have already had someone look at the house.
It's a 10 hour drive to Brandon Manitoba, one Province west of Ontario.
I know we can plan to go .. but it's going to be so strange not having them here.
Went to the Market yesterday morning with Gord, locked my keys in the car! Went to call Murray, but realised I should call Lorna .. she waas fine with the drive in .. but, it made me think how much we depended on Murray and vice versa ..

Karen .. I surely do hope and pray that 'things' turn around for you.
I mentioned once before that I had cared for a friend who went into a deep depression .. the drug that finally helped her was 'CELEXA" .. but, it took some time, and I found myself in the bathroom with the shower on, or the sink taps, sobbing, and quite angry with her, more than once.
Self care is pretty importnat, so, look after you too ..

Dianne .. we are running out of wood AGAIN, the gas has come on several times .. there's wood about, but, NOT seasoned wood .. dang winter .. we're at -20F with the windchill this morning.

Barb .. sounds as though you had an awesome time at the quilt show ^_^
Good luck with the taxes .. it IS that time .. DH and I have ours done as neither of us has the patience, and, we miss 'good stuff' LoL

Betty .. enjoy the warmth ..

Best get ready to head for the airport, am fer sure not wearing eye makeup !!!!

TOODLES

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Sitting out in the sunshine, guess you don't want to hear that right?

Darlene has a bad migraine today, took meds so guess it will be a quiet dayon the home front.

"M" hurting , know how dependent I am on Greg , I'd surely go bunkers without him just minutes away and the boys dropping in. It's surprising just how often we call them and don't even realize it. Add the funeral to the mix and wow no wonder you are overwhelmed

Barb, what did you ooohh and ahhh about the most at the craft show??

If I get a rainy day this week which we are suppose to I just might use Darlene'scutting board and rotor cutter and cut out some tote bags for something to do

LindaKay, did you eat a slice of cake for me?? Bet Dylan was on top of his game with the celebration. Right?

Marion how did the night go with Sue, hooe you both were able to get a good nights rest and that today will be a sunshine day,

Think Karen is travelling this weekend

Joyce, what areyouup to today.

Katie, tony comes Sunday's as well doesn't he..great you have someone checking up on you.

Judy's gone Mia again, think they are gone north to the cottage

Dianne, still snowing?

Debbie, sure hate it when you go Mia, I always know something is wrong and I worry as other do.

Yikes, best I move my chair out of the sun, feel I'm on fire

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You be careful in that sun Betty. I will download the few pictures I took yesterday in a bit.
What caught my attention the most is a new free-motion foot for the Janome. I got part of it yesterday and will get the rest when I go to his shop. I guess he has a few freebies that he throws in when you go there.
I was hoping this weather was turning around - NOT. In the low 20s today with a nor'easter due in Tues night-Wednesday. I'l really ready for spring!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry weather is not cooperating Barb..what is different about the new quilting foot..my big quilter is a janome as is myembroiderymachine..hmm something to check into.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Karen is home this week-end, traveling next. I think M confused me with Marion who is on all our minds.

So jealous here Betty, I would love to feel "onfire" from the sun. I hear we are to get another big storm the end of the week, could mess up our travel plans. Arg. timing is important and kids want to surprise hubby with big family dinner for his 75th.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The birthday party was a huge success. I will post pictures when I get home this afternoon.

Enjoy your sunshine Betty. But make sure you have lotion on.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Because of my allergy to the sun I cannot wear sun screen..months I break out october and march, guess we are at end of march and not affecting me so far.

Oh Karen don't mention mega storms on the weekend, we leave here Friday morning...ahhh wouldn't want to be fighting storms.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Most likely you will miss it Betty supposed to be Thurs. & Fri here.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

"M", my heart is breaking for you. God Speed to Murray. Hang in there, girlfriend.

Betty, I'm going to Joan's garden (remember, we went there) to see her snowdrops, winter aconite and hellebores with Sherry. Kathy and I went yesterday, but we were a day early! Joan was so sweet though, she came out anyway and walked the garden with us. Was kind of chilly, 40s I guess. She has so many things blooming right now. I'm really jealous! I took lots of pictures yesterday, but I took them with my camera and don't have a way to get them on this IPAD. I'll have to put them on the home computer and email them to me!

We're to get some more cold weather here to this week. Drats! I'm ready for sun and warmth!

Marion, my heart just aches for you. I so wish there was something I could do to help you.

Glenview, IL

Hi!! I'm here...
Yep Betty went to the cottage. I wasn't really planning the trip. But this is last of Breenies Spring Break, so she wanted to go just to go some where. lol. So packed up last minute and off we went.

House was fairly decent. Temp was already at 30 so it didn't take long to Warm up. We had a nice restful visit... Yikes, everyone is outta wood! It's been a long, cold winter...We loaded the wood bins upstairs and down, still have a pretty good pile, but it's going quick. So, since its to be only n the 20's, we decided to come home yesterday and save some wood. OMG, winds were gusting... So, i was sitting down stairs having a smoke, decided i couldn't stand the sight of the coffee table second longer. So got a bucket of warm water and scrub every inch of the top...We've had this table for years and years, lol I'm calling it my trash to treasure project. Next time we go, I'll bring my sander and hopefully it will be warm enough to refinish. Most people would probably junk the thing, but as everything else, there is a story behind it. Well, not to mention it is still very sturdy. It's life at the cottage has been the hold all, never really being used for it's original use, a coffee table, so now it is and soon it will be beautiful again! I am taking pictures of the process, so i can share with my Good friend Judy Coon. It was hers for many years, it was at my old house for a number of years and now at the cottage. It still has quite a few years to go...Oh golly the grime, took me 2 days to get it cleaned up...The table has grooves and they were packed to the top with dust and grime, ROFLOL, I hope this don't sound as though we are complete slobs, it's been cleaned a couple of times. But now we are finally at the point of finishing up the basement, lol, at least it the recent talk...laughing some more, I guess talk is a good start!

On the home front, I've been obsessed with the cleaning: Just tired of all these (not so nice words) tools, everywhere...Well and I figure it's been good exercise at the same time earning my trip to the sistah Gathering! LOL, told Sunshine I was moving in with her. hehehe, already half packed. While packing for the house decided to set aside, what i want to take with.

OMG Barbara so glad you were able to go the Quilt show...

Sending you some tight Armwraps M. Wow, you sure have had some rough times. I don't know, not so sure I could hold together with a move so far away. My kids were talking about moving to Chicago for a while, whew I was relieved when they decided to just move to a different apartment in the same building.

Betty!! Wow, sounds like a kiss from the sun for you!! I hope it is relaxing for you.

Awe...Happy Birthday Dylan!! wow 2 already, he is a cutie.

ohoh, got to run for a few minutes. DH needs computer.
will try to post from tabby, until i get aggetated with it!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Rough night but thank God for a fantastic caring therapist who was pretty much with us. She has her PhD. And is also a RN with extra work dealing with depression. She nows thinks it wasn't the anti depression meds that are causing Sue to be getting worse but rather the anxiety medicine. Call to Sue's doctor; so now we are waiting the appropriate number of hour before giving Sue a xanax. Praying this is the key to getting her on the road to recovery.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Praying right along with you Marion.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here adding my prayers as well..Thank goodness you've been there with her.some of the meds are worse than the anxiety..here is hoping right mixture calms her down, eases her distress.

Judy, glad you were up at the cottage..nice planning the next step of renovations, especially with someone so talented in that field...just think, perhaps one day Steve and you can retire up there.

During the heat of the day I went up to Joann's and bought more fabric, also bought a ruler they ise for long arms, about 1/2 inch thick, helps process of making straight lines..will check to see if they've a web site and perhaps I can order a few diamonds etc.

Went out a bit ago but Lordy sun is strong so back in I came..got to wonder, in the extreme heat and be inside with ac or too cold outside and be n with furnace..never satisfied I guess.

Want to go looking for do on the janome quilting foot Barb..is there info on the package you bought
