All the best of the Day of St Patrick ^_^
Am sure all my relatives 'over home' will be in fair form.
AND, the pub will be filled with song and laughter, and, MOST definitley, Michael Mahoney will get drunk and his wife will bat him on the head with her bag, and lead him home with his ear LOL.
Here in Canada we seem to jus be happy with true Irish fare at brunch, soda bread, potato bread bacon and eggs ...

Snowing like the devil here ..expecting a couple of inches or more ..

ENJOY your day !!

Good morning, everyone.

good news here. My friend Maria is on her way home from Ca. and has my meds with her. I should have them in a few days. I've been doing OK, taking antiinflammatories everyday or two and aspirin as needed. Not doing much work rereading some Janet Evonocich books. They are so funny they cheer me up. I've been able to do a little yard work, reminding myself that a little work is better than none and right now self protection is necessary. Will call in a bit to see about a dentist appointment.

Not much happening here. Neighbors Dana and Tom spent the week in Cabo; they were due back last night. Got an email from another neighbor, Barbara, as I'd gone by her house in the evening and her truck door was open but there were no signs of anyone home. I wrote to ask if she was here and she said she is, she just spaced out on the open door. We are both kind of hermits so we are now each in our own little world. We do look out for each other.

Marion, big hugs and prayers as you are helping your sister. I've been there and can only wish you the best and hope you will remember to take care of yourself.

Dianne, are you recovering from your fall OK?

Will plant a few more aloes before Tony gets here and then take it easy.

hugs, katie

Betty - when is Ann due back home? I have these carriage robes to send. Would it be better to send them to you to pass along as I'm not sure if she is at home or with her daughter.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I have a question for Betty as well Barb ^_^

We have something to return to the US (where it was purchased) .. seems to me, each time we stop at the 'check pont' on the US side, prior to entering the US, the guard asks if we are mailing anything?
Betty I know you do mail in the US, so, I guess I want to know if it's OK to do that ?

Thanks

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't go by me, lol, never specifically ask if I'm mailing

But, I do say I'm returning an item and nothing ever said because its already be claimed

Grrrr. Been on the phone 2 1/2 hrs between my mom and brother Mike
Just about fed up

Did my blood pressure this morning
154-81-80
Shouldn't be that high taking blood pressure pills , not sure what is going on with that..gabbing and being peace maker isn't easy

Darlene also called, excited about me flying in Friday but not coming home to snow

While she's home she is having decking built and extra patio, be nice for when she returns..more shade..glad its not there now, I want SUN,

Barb, Ann will be home on the weekend..either her address or mine, Rta will have my mail key while I'm away
You will be pleased to have your neibors back, someone to chat with other than furries and Tony. Hurrah re meds

Katie, did you call the dentist?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

how long will you be gone Betty? I'd rather send them to you as I wouldn't be sure Ann was home much. If that is okay?

Victoria Harbour, ON

I leave Friday and not be back until March 31st

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bet your excited to see the sun in Florida!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh my. Seems like you were just dropping her off a minute ago, Betty

I'd like to send you a envelope to Dar's, could you dmail me her address?

Bill and I had quite the scare last night. At 1:30 this morning, coyotes right in our back yard started yipping so loud it scared us to death. We took inventory of kitties in the house and Smokey was missing. We immediately assumed the worst. So we're walking up and down the lane calling for him, Bill carrying his shotgun. Finally we were so cold hat we headed back to the house. There was Smokey, sitting by the tire of my car cleaning himself. Whew! What a relief! Now the rule is no one goes out after supper. Boy, good luck with that this Summer!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my. That sounds so scary. Please be careful.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Send me something??? Need more info before I provide address lol

Just got home, such an emotional day, not so much me but just listening to mom and Mike and few other drama's....shaking my head, bath is running, then pj's and snuggle in
to bed..I can watch tv or just doze off, had enough of Monday!

Should have found some irishmen and gone to the pub

Smokey was likely about to go in searcn for you and Bill, wondering what kind of crazies were out in the cold..missy was out for a few hours today, she never goes out in winter..she must be mixed up, not spring yet, saying storm Wednesday

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Glad your Smokey was OK .. quite a scare Joyce.
With us it's Bears, but, their still asleep, but, we have sly Fox about :-(

Lorna had her meeting with regards to her new prosthesis .. everyone is blown away by her fortitude and perseverance .. feel if anyone was to have the top of the line leg, it'd be Lorna .. but, the stumbling block is the cost ..

I think I might do a memory stick with all the pics of her over the 4 years, and write a letter, or, do a video, send it to Otto Bock (the manufacturera) .. we'll see .. she goes for the fiting of her new (middle of the line one) Thursday ..

I be tired .. Corrie and bed, and try to remain conscious to watch REMEDY at 9pm

"M", what happened that Lorna lost her leg? Praying she can get what she needs!

Ladies, please keep my dad in your prayers. My Sis says his whole foot is swollen, and looks bruised and infected. She takes him to the specialist Thursday. I will know more then.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Prayers for your Dad Linda. He has been through so much it is a shame there is more......
Gentle hugs for you......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Riley is driving us nuts! He wants out so BAD!

Smokey and his sister Fifi were so cute today. All snuggled up, head to head. Don't know why it's upside down! Can you all stand on your heads to look at it please! LOL

Betty, I want to send $$$ for my tree skirt, mailing and that beautiful Jostar top you're going to try to get for me. Now don't give me any flak!

Prayers being said for your dad LindaKay..poor soul, must be in a tremendous amount of pain.
Hugs for you my friend.

Joyce, actually am going to buy a few new outfits for me on Friday seeing when Darlene picks me up well be near the merchant...bought a few lin October for me and for cousin Linda , she wants a few so be glad to get what you want...told you not to worry about the tree skirt, my pleasure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess who was sound asleep when her mom called to gab just after 8pm..now wide awake!

Went and got a glass of milk and my Riley was crying to get out, problem is she would have to stay out all night, much too cold for that so in she stays, she's not a happy camper.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Guess we're having the same problem tonight, Betty!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LindaK my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dad. Poor fella .. as betty said, it has got to be painful .. Lorna said had they not taken her leg when they did, she would have cut it off herself .. Lorna had a blood clot lodged in an artery in her left ankle.
She hasn't lost her prosthesis .... her stump keeps shrinking, so, the 'bucket' it sits in has to be down sized .. quite the science to all this .. I'll see if I have a pic of her prosthesis

Our Smokey likes to go out and look around with his ONE good eye .. mostly he sniffs the air .. he would love to be able to feel grass under his paws ..
Not anytime soon .. we are expecting 7-8" of SNOW today !!
Gag me, we're going out, good thing we have 4x4s !

The first pic is Lorna's prosthetic leg now, in the second pic (3 years ago) she was in physio learning how to walk, but, you can see that awful BELT that hold things in place .. made of neoprene, VERY warm in the summer. A new high end leg would get rid of that ..

Morning all,

On the phone with my mom, listening, complaining etc.
but I'm the only one who will listen so let her vent

"M" doesn't look very comfortable for sure..guess in 3 years since she has had it things have improved greatly. Let's hope something comes up re funding..your suggestion of photo's/tape being sent out requesting financial assistance. How is Lorna's dad doing

LindaKay, any updates on your dad?

Joyce, you have to tell me what kind out outfit/outfits you want ..they have so many more out at the shop vs what they have online..there was one with a tiger, hard to define tiger, had to look at it..last time I got the peacock, again you have to look to see him..will buy the tiger this time.

Not as dizzy today that's good news.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No update on Dad yet. We will know more on Thursday when he see's the surgeon!

Those legs don't look comfortable at all! Praying she gets one that is comfortable!

Betty, you need to call the Dr. maybe he needs to adjust your meds?

Victoria Harbour, ON

feeling ok today LindaKay..

tonight am hoping to get the bag packed that contains all my mail-outs then will add a few pieces of clothing because I left a lot in Florida

Hopefully answers you get Thursday will be in your dad/s favor.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I sure hope so. He is pretty depressed, and is not looking forward to another surgery! Wish I was closer. But I told Todd yesterday, I am going to fly home towards the end of April for a few days. Hopefully the weather is a bit warmer by then!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think he would love seeing you Lindakay and you will feel better having gone!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I am sending prayers for Dad Linda. I can certainly understand his depression. And it will be wonderful for both of you when you go to MI. Praying his pain is being dealt with for him.

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, went back through the threads awhile ago, more like walk down memory lane, was trying to see if I made note of the hotel I and the 4 grandsons stayed in ..couldn't believe it was in 2009..nope, hadn't mentioned the name anywhere BUT in my travels see what I found

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Being caught in the middle is absolutely the WORST place to be Betty .. I wish you all the best with your Mum ..
If you have the website for the outfits handy, may I ask for it .. I do believe, many years ago when my Mom and Dad lived in Boca Raton, I was visiting and my Mom and I went into some shop a local had said to go to and i bought a dress in the non wrinkle material .. black with BRIGHT blue flowers, I finally wore it out !!

LindaK T&Ps comin atcha in buckets !

Lorna is flipping well amazing, I keep saying a book should be written ..
I might attach a few more pics, don't want to bog the thread down though ..

Should get supper happening too ..

You keep right on posting them "M".. Think of how I'd feel overcoming the same obstacles, not sure I'd be as courageous.

Outfits are from Jostar but Mae's in Fort Myers has such an array of outfits..I always get compliments when I wear them and they are cheap, it's like habpving nothing on. Lol so comfy right Joyce?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Packing some of my things so out come the outfits lol

Found the place I go, few $$ cheaper than on-line I tink..haven't checked but will

Joyce, look at style color and let me know what you like

http://www.maysclothing.com/

Joyce, you must tell me colors, size
remember they are forever changing stock

what's nice about it as well they have lounging dresses, thought I might buy a mid length one as it would be long for me and I could use it to lounge around the house without being in jammies..

I also bought long black pants in same fabric, short sleeve jacket and regular knee high in black that way I can switch pants and have a dual color outfit, not same pattern

in photo 4, blue outfit note that I've had it at least 15 years and been washed a zillion times and still ok

think I added up that I could go 3 months changing tops/pants/jacket to make alternate outfit
I also bought Cracker Barrel watches and bought bracelets to match each one as well as earings that way I look dressed to the nines and it didn't cost me $40

Bought this one Joyce, didn't come as a set so think it was $50 for the 2
also bought the red set for about same..what I liked is they have the longer sides, look really dressy

I left some down south for when I go, didn't need them for the winter..saw a few more if they are still there I'll bring home with me

The one I wasn't is the first picture of the second post. Think that's the one that you got last time you were down.

I've gotten most of my stuff online from Mays Clothing. Nice thing, too is she send a pair of earrings free with each outfit.

I also love the middle one in the second picture and the polka dot one in the last, however I think I can only afford the black and white one for now!

I have the blue flower one, the same in orange and lime green. Love all three of them! I did get a couple of the newer style tops with the longer sides. Love them, too!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do my best, if not available what color, black/white?? Or something I like

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

What you like will be fine.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, thanks for the picture of Dad. That is his Aunt Ruby, when we drove to Arizona a few years back! She just turned 90, and doing pretty good for her age!

Love those outfits! They look really comfy!

Well I just got back home from the Dr. a little bit ago. I have another round of antibiotics and prednisone to take as well as a nebulizer to use 3 times a day. I got a shot in each cheek. One was a prednisone shot. The other was antibiotic and let me tell you my cheeks are sore! I have to go back in one week for follow-up. I was tested for strep as well as the flu. Both were negative. I also got tested for TB. I go back Thursday to have that checked.
So this old and sore lady is taking a pain pill and will probably crash early.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ,,
Holy smokes LindaK, I sure hope the prednisone does the trick for you.
SOunds like you're fighting some kind of 'super bug'.

Slept horribly last night, actually most nights .. seems the dogs have now BOTH decided the BEST place to be at night is tucked in right beside Mom !!
Haven't the heart to tell them to get down, and since they don't bothe DH, well, I guess i am own worst 'sleep enemy'

My niece's partner, Wayne, had a massive stroke on Saturday evening, he passed away yesterday. Felice is maybe 46, Wayne was maybe 60? All I know is it has been a shock .. one day yer here, the next yer gone. My brother Bob and wife Odene are busy trying to help Felice as much as they can .. sad all the way round.

Best get going, snow to shovel and DH and I are going out for a day together ..

So sorry to hear that "M". Sending prayers for the family!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so sorry "M" and I'm sending prayers for your family also.

Geez Linda - this bug really has a hold on you. With all the prednisone I've had to take over the years, I've never had to have shots. Try to rest as much as you can.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

"M" sorry to hear of Wayne's passing..yep, one day your are here and the next gone ..moral of this story is to enjoy each and every day and always always tell those you love, you love them!
Love you all, but then you know that..

Lordy LindaKay, that's some bug, glad they are taking all precautions by doing various tests incase it's something else. hugs

Packed some of my suitcase last night, will be a heavy sucker lol , so glad it has wheels.

they are anticipating likelyhood of 3 hrs freezing rain coming shortly so all region buses were cancelled..better be safe than sorry. Am sure some of the parents will say 'what to heck is with that?' seeing nothing is happening but best be safe than sorry..if it does materialize how would they get these little gaffers home.

Darlene's birthday today, best I call her
