Hi...

Omg, so much going on all around!

Sending you all some tight comforting Armwraps. Along with prayers for healing for everyone.

Marion, So very sorry to hear of Sue's depression hitting so hard. You know, i am always seeing the side affects to those meds on tv. I am so glad this was detected so early? I sure hope that the dosage can be adjusted. Also, for continued strength for you. You have been through so much hardship for a while...Good you are taking things one step at a time, and I was really glad to hear she had a better evening.

OK...I am working in the office on computer all day today, so i can be in and out of the gardens...
But first got to taxi Jake to train, first, stomping off to clean my car of snow, again!
Be back in a little while.

Until then please be safe in traveling.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Snow is changing to big flakes so maybe it is getting ready to stop??? Hope so. I'm getting to the point where I dislike anything WHITE!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sun is shining and Sue is more upbeat this morning. I am sure it is the medicine but will be grateful for that.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So happy for that report Marion. Maybe that is all she needs along with some company for a while. Hope you get to go home soon. Is there anyone else like a friend who would be willing to spend an hour or two with her each day? It would give her something to look forward to and Hopefully would get her on track again. Just thought rambling around in my head......

Well, the snow is back to really fine again so I know it is not going to stop soon. Plus the wind is really whipping it around. I'm ready to spray paint it green!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Meds and having you there I'm sure..she is feeling safe and loved..sun couldn't hurt either.

Drats still -20 here, Marion hope you save me some of that sunshine for next weekend

Barb, I broke out laughing, green would be good.

Couldn't believe Canadian tire, my haunt store on Saturdays sent me a flyer..they are ready for spring..plants/shrubs and sod..can you tell me what on earth would possess them to advertise such items

Looking for a restaurant , checking out menu's..hungry but for what??

Glenview, IL

Ok..I am back from the harrowing drive across the city...

I am with you Barb, just sick of white right now! Well, i really, really do hope this is the last of it.
Yesterday our weather was such a gust bowl. I never even left the house. Breenie took Jake to the train and it took almost 2 hours, normally a 45min trip there and back...Oh ROFLOL spray paint the snow green!! Hey you could say it's for St. Day decoration...P.S. I was elated to see you had good results!!
Oh yeah, So smiling...The coverlets are simply precious and I know made with an enormous love.

only say harrowing ride because it is a major big deal driving around the pot holes!! Some are so big that would cause major problems should it be hit...I used to enjoy the ride but now It is so stressful dodging all the holes. LOL it is the only time we can drive like maniacs swerving all over the road! .Yikes, you can tell when a "newbie" to the road is around. I just wish the hole patrol would get out there again...YIKES and yow.

Big Gentle Armwraps Dianne. My goodness, I was so saddened to hear of your fall and how broken you are. Awe, I bet the pups are ever so gentle around you...I've been keeping you in thoughts of healing, hope its quick. Sure wish i lived closer too, I could haul and keep wood stove going for you, Did I read Steve has been checking up? I am ever so grateful he is there for you.

Ohhh, Linda Kay, So glad the grandsons are coming. Big Bummer that you are so sick again. Yikes, sure hope this is the last for a long long time! I am glad the meds are working. Was happy to see you had Dylan time too...Blackie is Huge and beautiful!! So sorry he is still sick and i hope his meds knock those worms GONE. Saw your Bloom, how lovely!...Woohoo, Spring is just around the corner.
See your Hummers yet? You just keep resting up. hope the trip all around goes well.

holie moley...got to get my fingers flying across the key board, not an easy thing deciphering Steve's writing...be back in a bit.

Meantime, hope to see if Betty posted!!
Waiving hi...just got to knock this bill out and i'll be back again...

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So great to see you here again Judy. You have been so missed. Sounds like you are keeping pretty busy.

The snow has finally stopped. It looked like it was a huge blizzard for a while but I guess there is only an inch or two on the ground now. Very strong winds got rid of a lot.....No spray paint today!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy. We do have hummers. They came in last week. I will try to get pictures.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WOW, Hummies already .. sounds wonderful .. we will get them around mid MAY .. love watching them, just always so afraid they're going to bang into someone (me) !
Had a flowered dress on last summer, was in the wheelchair being quiet, and darned if one didn't come up to my shoulder to check out a rose on the dress .. such a delicate wee thing.

Judy, you sound happy, and busy ! I hear ya on the holes in the road .. maneaters .. tranny chompers, we have a contest here in the city each year run by a radio station to find the biggest, most ugly and car wrecking pothole of all .. I've never entered, but might this year as there's one we ALMOST went into today .. suspension would have been gonezo !!!

Cool temps here, but such wonderful sun !!! Supposed snow overnight ..
Piper and Lilly have discovered the snow is crusty enough to walk on TOP of, Piper thinks he THE MAN out in their run perched on a snowbank LoL

Marion, so great to hear about Sue .. fingers crossed ^_^

Best get bake to baking, one batch of cookies done, now on to Biquick buns, then I am DONE for the bake sale !

Toodles

~M~

Barb, I'll send ya some green spray paint if you'd like :-)

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thanks for the paint offer "M" but it's still so darn cold here I can't go out!!!!! Darn - I could have painted shamrocks for St Patty's Day!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, got to a high of -11 today, heat wave, heat wave. Lol

Meant to tell you gals, Ann took a big step this week, she has anxiety attacks, would never get on a plane but she decided what avenues it would open if she flew so off she went, all alne to Vancouver, right across country for 10 days..was a challenge, she took it and won..can't wait for her to come back and tell me all about it.

Then this afternoon I met Rita at the place she bought, small river on the side of her house which flows right into Georgian Bay, is a fix it upper but she is up to the challenge..remember the dump I bought

So am proud of both of them

Before coming home Suzaane had dropped in, then Melanie..could have been a party. Lol

All the excitement has done me in, enjoyed reading your post Judy, missed you

Going to have an hour or so of shut eye then back to read and retread then post

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, we are to drop into the low 40s tonight. Will put ina request for warm weather next weekend.

Very good day here.....so grateful! She still can't be without someone but atleast she isno longer arguing with me about tamingher meds. Told her I would sit on her and usethe cats pill popper. Works every time.

I don't remember who mentioned having friends drop in.....part of problem, she lives far out of town and not many friends. Don't mean that go sound harsh but it is what it is. She has always been shy and didn't make friends easily. We are working with the therapist trying to change that. Babysteps but they will get bigger.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

One small step at a time Marion, that's all anyone can do!

Big step for Rita to go on a flight, good for her!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oooooh Hummers, ours usually return about the middle of May too. I know they're back when they buzz my head out on the deck. Like they are saying "OK we're here where's the food".

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Debbie - keep warm... interesting about the DS not wanting the food Pantries...but I love that idea and hopefully will file away to use in the near future. Might be best for me to up the rent enough to get DS out of the house and learning how tough it is....Great advice from you, LK, Karen, ETC...Yes Betty as they always said and I didn't understand "Little kids little problems, big kids, big problems"

Might have to think of something MIL/FIL could do to "help" but something within their means. FIL is improving but tires easily.

Dianne "Don't know which way to turn" about sums it up. couldn't have said it better. Once one drama with the biz gets put to rest another seems to pop up and darned if I don't have this full time stressful job as well... LOVE Lays onion chips.....chomp chomp

If I didn't already mention... the second manager they just hired in October has just resigned as well. She was the one that seemed nice but I never got a chance to visit with her much....

(HUGS) MARION! Thoughts and prayers your way.
Marilyn Thank you too.... good thoughts....

I have a good story today.
When We realized our lunches were too busy and we needed dish help...we remembered some local schools have a Foodservice program teaching students to go into Restaurant business.
The closest one to the shop is Louisiana School for the Deaf and we hired 3 students to be "Support Staff" 11-3, one per each day.
The girl, Jalon, came to me after several weeks and expressed her desire to learn more in the kitchen and we asked our chef to teach her but for some reason our Chef tells us she will but never pulls Jalon over and shows her anything....I'm working all the time so I can't monitor this.
So Jalon sends me a long text last week how she has given up on learning since she won't teach her.

So I asked Jalon to come in tonight and learn with a SECOND Chef ....Taralyn who we hired about a month ago and are really impressed with but she can only work nights/weekends.

Jalon texted me tonight 8pm after her shift and she is SO Excited over everything she has learned with Taralyn and wants to come in Saturday to learn more.... she says "I learned how to do the chicken, the macaroni, etc."....

I truly felt so happy getting that text from Jalon. I hope our business survives just so I can have this feeling of helping people and making a difference....

Love to all. Prayers to those hurting....

Mary

Verona, ON

Oh Mary I am so glad you followed your instincts about Jalon - her desire to learn will help bolster your 'team' efforts. I bet as Jalon enjoys some success some of her fellow students will want to expand their horizons as well. Kudos to you and Lance for hiring these young people in the first place. Do you know only sign language? I am positive these young people will gladly give you a quick tutorial to start off with. I thought of you and Dh the other night as I was watching TV around 3am. I was watching an episode of The Secret Millionaire. This Baton Rouge couple Gwen and Michael (??) are both millionaires. Gwen owned and then sold her Mac Donald's franchise so she could spend more time with her wee ones. He started up I think it is called Caine's/Cane's Chicken Finger restaurants ,Even though he had a solid business plan they did have to diverge from it as their daily work experiences started to roll in.Anyway I digress from their story. They were sent out to work in a terribly battered community near BR - the whole area has barely started to rebuild after Katrina. They were to give away just $100,000 of their own money amongst as many worthy groups that they volunteered for while undercover. This young couple had their eyes forced wide open by the whole situation in this community and ended up donating 2 if not 3 lump sums of $100,000 to different organizations. Sure did my heart good to see this - I must look out for this programme.

Well I got blasted with a mighty wallop of this last storm. It took both of our plow guys plows plus 2 different swipes at our lane to even make it safe enough for those who had to get out to work.Temps are warming up but WLs are calling for another deep freeze next week . Oh joy!! But at least that will assist with a slow thaw

Going to see if I can catch a few more zzzzz's. Want to bake some cookies and make a baby back rib casserole today.

~~~~~ to everyone,
Dianne
Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)
Awesome making a small change and hooking Jalon up with the right chef. Sounds like a good mix for both of them and possibly a life altering decision for Jalon. Trial and error is sometimes what works best.
Perhaps your inlaws could be your greeters when they are able to be there. It's nice to walk in to a place and have someone say welcome or Hi glad you stopped in.
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
I was thinking the same thing about Mary's in-laws being greeters. I always liked that feeling of being welcomed myself.
I'm really happy for Jalon too. Did you find out why the other chef wouldn't work with her? Jalon will be a great asset to your business just because you gave her that chance Mary.
Hope you are able to get out if needed Dianne. You must be as sick of this white as I am.
Kudos to Ann for flying!!!! That's wonderful and can be so liberating. And kudos to Rita as well with new home. The two of you (I say that as I know you will help) will have it fixed it perfectly in no time at all.....
No bird feeders here so I will miss the hummers so much. I so enjoyed taking care of the birds and squirrels and even the bear.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Morning everyone! Mary, so glad the 2nd chef took the new employee and is teaching her. I too wonder if you asked the 1st one why she failed to do as directed.
Sending lots of prayers out for all those on that missing plane. Hard to believe it just disappeared!
Gonna be a busy day with the boys, going in to get the oil changed in the truck, so we will walk across the street to wal mart for breakfast, and a bit of shopping. Rory loves to read, so we are looking for a book or two for him while he s here.
Then he wants to get on you tube later to lean magic tricks. We were watching a program last night with a magician doing street tricks, and he was just in awe of all he could do!
Victoria Harbour, ON
Morning all,
Had a novel written then June all excited wanted to kow what her email addy was so she could get on Facebook to see photo's of her grandson in south America, should have pressed send but didn't so here I go again.
Cold mornimg but clear
Woke up just before 8am, good night's rest, going to start calling me sleepy head!
Rita was on the way to her place, meeting a company representative who will give her prices on new flooring, washroom renovations..now the work begins..yep Barb already asked to do some things, look forward to doing so!
Mary, what's fantastic opportunity for those young adults..glad you had the foresight to have the evening shift cook be her mentor..it's all up from here on in!n omg I can so see the in-laws walking around with a tray for samplers, doesn't have to biped big portions, featured ice cream of the day..yes,yes,yes, a home welcoming atmosphere, does go a long way.
Overwhelming for sure, breathe in breathe out, spring is almost here and customer base will improve. Are you able to put a few little cafe type table/chairs outside on the sidewalk?
LindaKay, you do indeed have a busy day planned, any fabric shop in same region? Would make for the perfect day. Magic tricks, kids loved doing them, you tube is great as a learning tool for them..you'll be having a magic show tonight before setting in.
Oh happy days, my little squirrel just came back to front window feeder..wonder where he spent the winter??
Love hummers and I've been planting flowers/shrubs that attack them but had so few last year. The iridescent who dropped in a few weeks ago are nowhere to be found again..guess its just toooo cold. Barb is there a little sitting area outside that some of the residents could make a tiny garden and have a feeder that you could go sit in..might be worth looking nto a community complex project..assure many there are missing a little sitting area.
Karen, been meaning to ask how your doing with the extra live-ins?n grand baby must be loving it! Spoilt by you I bet.
Dianne, do you think the snow will be gone by May 24?
Just read an article that water levels will be up this year ut still a worry.
Very icy, be careful when going out. Sure hope you filled the freezer with staples this year..hard going for bread and milk
Judy, where is Jacob going that you have to drive him to the train every day?
Steve working downtown? You mentioned on your list of to do's some yard work, Lordy girl, what can be done with these temps.
My sister Sharon is now back from 2 week vacation, spoke to mom yesterday for about 1/2 hr. she was in good spirits, not more than 10 minutes later she called crying, she and Sharon got into it..ugggg. Then email from Sharon saying mom was picking a fight..DON'T. Want to get involved in these antics..note to self 'DON'T'
Not sure what I will get into today, have a christmas throw that might take me less than an hour to finish, bit of aplique stitch work thapen I should really fix Sharon's stained glass piece, been dragging since Christmas orrrrr could do nothing.
Coffee and cereal calling
Coffee time, should get dressed
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
So much happening .. and, most of it GOOD, makes me smile.
Mary .. awesome news about Jalon .. she will flourish. DH younger brother, Brian (now deceased) was a 'special needs' young man. He was hired by a lady running a Momand Pop store on a country corner .. Brian was shy and mostly non verbal, but, as the months went by, he blossomed! He swept the floor, stocked the shelves, and, basically showed his sincere smile as the customers arrived at the store. You will never regret the joy and happiness you made Jalon feel ^_^
Yo Ho Ann .. how wonderful to hear she has taken time away for herself .. does she have friends or relatives in Vancouver?
Betty, are you on holidays ?
LindaK, enjoy the kids ...
Have some unsettling news, innuendo, whatever floating around the family .. first is the SPECULATION that Murray is about to be promoted by CPRail, and, likely will be leaving Thunder Bay (I'm trying to think positively on this) .. my nephew Robert is goint back to Brussels Belgium to head up a NATO Committee, the poition is for 3 years with Canadian Military .. he and his wife and 2 children previously lived there for 7 years, came back to Canada (Ottawa) for 3 and are now going back, MINUS their kids as both are in university.
Trying hard not to dwell on either scenario!
I C Y here!!! Lorna let me off so I could go into a store, I swung out of the car and went !"OH OH"! I was standing on glare ice, a fella saw me and kindly waited and watched as I went across the frozen patch .. I told him NOT to come into it with me or we'd both fall .. it was only a matter of maybe a foot til I was on pavement again, while I was in the store, Lorna moved .. it's the kind of ice you don't really notice ..
Dreary today that's for sure, and, snow is expected ..
Best go and feed the Blue Jays, boy are they noisy !!
Well it's going OK at times and others..Grrrrrrr. Very hard to abide laziness. DGS is working, it's not a great job but will do for now and he has applied for a better one, so far sounds promising and I hope it goes through. His wife has needed more prodding. it's an everyday,"did you do any apps today" Looks like she might finally have something, again it's not great and I just know she's going to hate it but if so she can look for better. She was going to orientation yesterday after we left for downstate so we have Amelia with us. Hubby has to get on her too. She will sit playing games and yell at Amelia to quit doing something. Hubby just tells her get off her A-- and take care of it. My biggest peeve is laundry, I'd just as soon do a couple of loads a day but even though theirs sits at the top of the stairs, it just gets left until the pile is huge. I've said over and over you come down the stairs, bring it with you, but it falls on deaf ears. I have started just doing what is there and she can handle theirs. One thing she does know is, it better be a full load, not gonna be washing a couple things you need.
Trying to stay calm, don't want to have a blow up, but at the same time not going to be walked on. Shouldn't have to go through this with adults.
Glenview, IL
Good Morning,
Thanks for the coffee LindaKay, need a good boost today!
Oh golly, it didn't take all afternoon to do that bill, in fact when i finally got to it, it only took about 45 mns.
lol not to bad, plus DH actually printed nice and neat...Now, hope this guy pays up so i can got to the Gathering.
So, what kept me from coming back? Loss of my cell phone!! Now I only made one stop to get gas on the way back! Petrie was having a nap and was looking too cute all fluffed sleeping in her cage on the perch.
door wind open, very cute. Thought to take a picture with phone and discovered it was gone! So went on a retraction hunt. Called the darn thing in each room i was in, Went to car, called again, nothin...Come in try to concentrate on bill and other stuff, mind kept thinking where the heck is that phone? Where was i, what did i do, etc, etc. sigh. Set up the bill, and decided to wait for Breenie to get home and as if she found and picked up from anywhere. Good thought right? Well as you all know, Once a thought is in my head it's just stuck until, something works...This was driving me insane. So looked up the gas station I was at...( some guess work on location) made a few calls, grr not the right ones. Times getting later, Breenie not home at usual time. Sooo, I figured if they by the time i figure which number it is, I could be there and back, so off for another ride. Oh no and boo hoo, it was not there and no one turned in a cell phone...Get back home search more...Breenie finally gets home, nope didn't find. So finally concentrate on the bill get it all worked up, meantime, Breenie comes and asks if i could go get Jacob at Grandmas!
Now in catch up mode said no tell him to get to Golf Mill (mall) and i'll get him from there...About an hour and half in walks Jacob...woohoo. So he says been trying to text you...cry around how i lost my phone.
I told him the last thing i did was toss and old duffel bag into dumb truck. We go outside, He climbs up and rings. Yippie and great Joy and many thanks it was actuallly on the ground, buried just enough to not see. Fortunalty it didn't get water logged!! Kid to the rescue...
Betty, i take jacob to the train to get to School. Le Cord on Blue is downtown. Once this weather gets a little better he will be back to the bus, and Thankfully he will be getting his license back! OMG, I can't wait!
...So I never answered about why he left the job. It was insane trying to get all the way from downtown to the job. He tried it and really enjoyed it. It was crazy being late almost routinely, so he thought for now he just wants to concentrate on schooling. I like the idea better too. Said he is going to apply at this other place when he can drive again.
LOL, Betty...I actually meant running around DG gardens to catch up...But i did go out on the nicer days to assess and pick up debris.
Ok...Be back in a bit again, it's time to go.
Enjoy the monrning.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Judy, you have the dangest time with cellphones, perhaps it's time to get cracking, get your creative juices going, get a belt and make a carry all so it's always with you! Take it out, use the phone and right back where it belongs Lol
I lost one of my house phones, been over a year..two I have when I am downstairs they are upstairs, when upstairs they are downstairs, always worried about falling down/up stairs when rushing to get it.
I too should do the same.
Wondered about being in the garden, thought omg what can one do when it's covered in snow. Grinnn thought maybe you had a fire going. How much longer does Jacob attend school..hard going right now but imagine having a cordon blue chef in the family.
When you are waiting for payment that's when it is late..hope you get to go..I would have gone had it been a weekend..not to be, have Florida next week then my Annual trip with Linda,Suzanne and Rita. Want me to start now to plan 3 senerio's then meet and pick one, then Florida likely in October and December so that will do me in..
That being said Judy one trip is aiming for Texas, one full day in Chicago along the way..more details to follow..sure will entail boat ride we took and also San Antonio Texas..they say Austin Texas is quite a music city, girls , bacck through new orleans then nashville and home..would like that, just don't know if we could get it all in.
Karen, you are a better person that I, am more than sure, nah I'm positive I couldn't keep my big yap closed regardless of the outcome.
"M". Nice of that chap to help out..drats, the sunny days, melting then freezing is causing chaos..glad Lorna doesn't try to walk in..how is she liking her new wheels? Will be hard having family move away, how are Murray's kids taking this news?
Little lightheaded this a.m. Been sitting with sun beaming through the window, should be relaxing but I'm seeing how badly they need cleaning ..terrible at windows, think I'm gong to look for a wndow cleaning company when weather is nicer and have them do it, that and all the eaves
Off downstairs, have a load of wash needs drying and another to wash..nice to get all done wash, house cleaning on a Friday, leaves a play weekend.
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
Good afternoon! Been busy this morning making tomato sauce and then two lasagnas - one for dinner and one to freeze. They are a bit of work but so worth it. Now I'm having a bite to eat and then will head in to sew all the pieces I cut yesterday for one of the BOMs I am in.
It is so good to see you posting Judy. Sorry about the disappearing phone. Betty had a great idea and if anyone can adapt to you it is you yourself!!!
"M" - sometimes I get confused with names. Murray is your son is he not? Does he live near you now?
Need to make another coffee - chilly here today.
Glenview, IL
LOL, You do mean... one full day in GLENVIEW, right?
ROFLOL, you know. Not that long ago, I was thinking I should start wearing aprons again!
We had them at Staples. I hated the thing, but yeppers, held all that I needed...At Cokesbury, we had smocks (thin jacket) with nice big pockets. LOL they were uglier then all get up, but added an extra layer of warmth year round, and at McDougal, I had my own room, everything close. Well hmm, I did keep the Staples apron, thought to use it around the gardens.
Marion, what great news! I hope and pray each day is better and better. Marion, are you getting in some rests too? I know probably not much...
Susan, I missed your birthday too, Happy belated Birthday! Glad to hear the child care payment is over, yikes. Was glad to hear Bob's Home Depot is close, will he be able to come home for lunch?
Thunder...Sure hope your having a fantastic visit with the girls. Can't wait to see photos and hear about Grandma time.
Linda Kay, Ohh what fun!! Is Rory familiar with Chris Angel? I think was who my 2 little ones were crazy about. I love magic and am always glad to see kids get into it...I hope you all have a blast with it.
Have they learned any magic? Jake was into card tricks, could do a couple different ones.
Mary, Mary!! Was good to see you post. You got some good advise here! Think it was a good three years to get our business going..I think the first year is pretty much the whole learning phase. Second year...lots and lots of practice! I think your doing Well. How wonderful your family will come and even better excitement, wanting to help! LOL, gotta love when that happens. Three Cheers for the girl wanting to learn how to do some of the kitchen work. Pffft, to the one that didn't wanna show her and smiles of thanks to the one that did...Wohoo to you for making a great decision!!
SCREECHHHH...On your news of Witchypoo!! LOL you be sure to slam the door behind her...
Ooops was pulling a Debbie thinking out loud, roflol. ummm, meant to say tell her her to have a nice life,
er uh...maybe her last day will be on your day off and you won't have to be me and be mean.
Ohhh speaking of Team work! Congratulations Team 7!! Wow what a ride Betty. Actually only caught some of the end of the compeetition, was jumping for joy Gregg's team pulled in 3rd.
Congratulations to Rita on the new home!
OK, i been at this for a while...need to go change laundry out and get some stuff put a way.
be back in a bit.
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Barb .. must be LASAGNA weekend ..
I'm going to make one up to cook on Sunday .. always seems to me, if it sits just one day, it tastes better .. I'm sure it's an IRISH thing mith my Mam LoL
Here's me gonna have LASAGNA (leftovers) on St Paddy's Day .. the shame of it !!!
My son is Murray, hubby is Gord .. Murray's 2 children, Brooklyn 15 and Austin almost 13 will likely be on 2 different ideas if a move happens (hoping not) .. Miss B will be devastated, and Austin will consider it an adventure .. Alison (my hard to deal with DinL) well, MORE DRAMA for her ..'OH, POOR ME, we have to move! Had she gotten a JOB, Murray likely would not have pushed so hard for a promotion .. her excuse for NOT working ? She needs to drive the kids to school, AND, pick them up .. she just does NOT trust those bus drivers .. here's me, trying to keep the yap zippes, but, if looks could kill .. well >>>>>>>>>
Murray is our one and only, so, seeing him move away (depending on where that is) would be tough on Mom and Pop !!!
Judy, love your post re WITCHYPOO .. I wasn't in the thread when Mary was dealing with this person .. she sounds like a real piece of work!
Like you said, tell her not to let the door hit'er in the rear when she leaves .. her poor fiance!
Lorna and I and the 3 furry people just finished banging down the ice and snow off the patio .. it was thick on there and getting hard to walk on .. lordy, when Gord comes home he'll be so surprised .. mind you, both of us will have sore arms tomorrow !!!
Betty, if you're light headed it could be your BP med is a bit too high a dose, have you taken your BP?
Your upcoming trips sound wonderful, and, it is so great to hear Rita is happy with her FIX'ER UPPER :-)
Best get a shuffle on ..
(HUGS) All.... quick post need to get to bed.... St. Pattys day parade rolls at the shop tomorrow and likely we'll have either a super day with lots of sales or a slammed day where no one will be happy or a dead day with everyone at the parade.
Dianne... Yes Raisin Canes is a HUGE Chicken place here... great local story guy gone big... Jalon has ability to speak and hear / limited. I know the sign language alphabet but it is too slow for me to communicate with David and Jonathan our other 2 Louisiana school for the Deaf students. Jalon ... I can talk to ......The neat thing is that our other employee's are interested in learning Sign Language and so the Deaf students are like rock stars when they get here because the other kids want to talk to them.
Greeters is a great job for MIL/FIL but we are such a small shop that we do try to greet each guest as they enter anyway....
Good question as to why Shelly our main chef did not train Jalon... I try to let Lance manage but interestingly today I noticed Shelly DID work with Jalon...
Maybe a little competition knowing her night replacement taught Jalon so much was enough to motivate SHelly to get Jalon more involved....
Betty we do have a porch area set up with tables and chairs...
Tomorrow is St. Patricks Day parade and should be huge.
Morning all,
Rita and her daughters are off for a girls weekend, so all having breakfast then off on their adventure. Isn't snowing at the moment p, let's hooe it's clear for their adventure.
Mary, let's hooe weather today for St.Paddy's parade is a hot one and all are looking for a cold refreshing treat, ice cream will do it! Sounds as though you've got a good working team now and that is what it takes for success. Enjoy your day and do not worry.
Day before TWO 'fun days' here in TBay ..
March 16th is 'ST. URHO'S DAY' http://www.sainturho.com/
He's the Patron Saint of FInland,and, of course Monday is St Patty's Day.
Since Thunder Bay has the larget Finn population outside of Finland .. there is always friendly 'banter' between the 2 events.
Not saying much today, feeling sick from the chemo, plus learning DS Murray is going to be transferred to Brandon Manitoba, about 1200 miles from here in another Province !!!
Mind, his boss here in Thunder Bay wants to promote him and keep him here .. so, we'll see what happens ..
Mary .. good luck with the Parade ..
Hope today is all you wish for Mary....
Good morning Betty.
Just getting ready to go sew. Must get dressed first.... No more sewing in jammies as Norm told me he is expecting FedEx orders to come here!!!! Darn.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Let's hope "M" his boss wins out, he gets promotion and $$ and gets to stay..I believe it's more than difficult on young ones your grand Holden's age to relocate..here is hoping
Barb, great minds think alike..I just said to myself, self, get dressed before going downstairs.
Turned on dishwasher when Rita and her 2 girls left, load in washer and that is about as much housework as you will see me do today..gong to play lazy, well not quite, did put a patch on a pair of jeans for Jenny, Rita told her to bring them and likely I could do repairs..
Who sent the snow, big sigh
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)
Nice day here now - a bit breezy but at least the sun is shining. I would love to go out but Norm's working. Hope it isn't too bad tomorrow so I can get some fresh air....
Victoria Harbour, ON
Would be nice, even a drive..are you within hour of driving to visit the kids for lunch?
Snowing here, hasn't stopped since early morning..light fluffy stuff that blows in the wind.
working on the back of Braedon's hockey quilt..wow, didn't realize just how big it is, should have done just a throw and not listened to ex DIL lol
been thinking about Mary this morning, do hope she gets a full house, everyone wanting a tasty treat, must go look at Baton Rouge weather.
Jean, as always you are in my thoughts and prayers
same with Bev and Shirley, do miss them
think it's time to head upstairs and make lunch
Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)
Barb, are your temps moderating?
We have 'the BIG breeze' here as well, and, it drives the temps right down .. I think we'll be lucky to see MAYBE 25F, even that is nice to us ^_^
This past few years we have seen the presence of wind become the norm as opposed to a nice relief on a warm day.
Do hope you have a good day ..
Laundry day here, beds stripped, thank heavens for Lorna, she LIKES doing laundry, I help though, would feel odd not doing so.
Lasagna is made.. now waiting for Gord so we can package up dog food..
Not sure how Brooklyn and Austin will take the news of a move ..at least I KNOW Brandon is a nice city, smaller than TBay.
Like you say Betty .. place all bets on DS boss here who wants him to STAY !! It's definitely more money ..
Still and all I am sick at heart .. as my Mam would say, 'You'll get over it' .. LoL
For all of you from all of us :
May there always be work for your hands to do;
May your purse always hold a coin or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
What a lovely toast "M"
Couldn't ask for more than that in life.
Did Murray apply for this position? Must be something he wants..too long a drive but you could fly! Will work itself out, guess we have to adapt to changes although they are hard on us.
Wind is really up here, light snow blowing around, real winter day! Think I should have stayed in my Jammie's.
Came upstairs to make lunch, decided on salmon sandwhiches, not sure who got more, me or Missy. Lol
Was thinking of going downstairs to finish the back of the hockey quilt but I can dpfeel I'm nodding off. Hmmm maybe a lay down?
Hope you got a nice rest, Betty!
Did you nap Betty? Lazy afternoons are like that. I sewed this morning - got two blocks done- then crocheted this afternoon. Had lasagna leftovers for dinner and now it is chill out time with Norm. He will probably nod off in a bit he is that tired. I'll crochet some more and watch TV for a while.....
I did indeed fall asleep, infact I woke up just as Melanie was driving out of the drive, heard car door, must have woke me..layed there for a bit, it was do or die so downstairs I came, put the hockey quilt on the frame and calling it a night (at least for doing things)
Barb enjoy your evening with Norm!!!
You feeling better Joyce?
