LindaKay, you feeling better?

I'm so glad "M" I've no need for dentists, can't even imagine those with no dental how they pay for such services. Hope no infection comes of your dental work.

I'm smilling "M", have a gizmo as well and need to take mine off before it gets heavier as it melts/freezes but it's in the back shed..would take me forever to venture out in 4' snow then shovel doors of the shed enough to open them so guess snow will stay where it is.

Guess I shouldn't complain about the fur, I've enough threads that manage to get into every room and that's my doing.

Barb, very interesting concept re Resurrection, those who are resurrecting are all somewhat of the same circle..just wish it wa on earlier. Rita will look on Rogers on Demand and see if it's one of the shows they keep, if so we'll watch it the day after at an earlier time.

Wow was I tired but kept awake..change in time didn't help either.

Took my blood pressure pill, headache all but gone, just a glimmer of one..maybe it's worrying that Greg and the boys make it home without mishap seeing they are so tired and have to drive the distance.

Need something to occupy myself today so took out the box of cut pieces for yet another of the pieces I did the other day..feel much better when I have a little something to do, other than that not much happening in my neighborhood

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Getting there Betty. I think the worse part is over as a sweat so much last night, had to take a shower first thing this morning, now to change the bed sheets. Not coughing too much today, so that is good.
Dad has his toe removed yesterday, when the Dr. came out to talk to my Sis, he told her that it had a major infection at the base of the toe, and he tried his best to get it all, but his concern was there was hardly any blood flow during the removal of the toe. He said it won't be long before he has to have the foot or leg removed, as he has no blood flow! Keep him in your prayers please?

With the time change it is still dark here at 7am when Tony is due. He isn't here yet so he may have missed the time change. Hope there's not a family problem.

Last week I developed a tooth ache. Just what I needed!! However, neighbor Dana told me that a very good American dentist who specializes in root cannels will be at our local clinic in a week or so. I will call today and see if I can get an appointment. Need to check the antibiotic I need to take.

Max is much better but he had a bad episode last night and I have a small hole in the third finger of my left hand. He likes to sleep back to back with me but I have to be careful not to try to touch him or he may go nuts. The good news is that he is more relaxed in a lot of situations. He doesn't like to be picked up and the one time he tried getting up in my lap he couldn't relax and was shaking. Now he waits until I'm sitting on the bed or at the computer and then he stands with his front paws in my lap to be petted.

He is very happy most of the time and likes to play with the other dogs who would be much less active without him. It's fun to see the puppy in him come out.

The ATV that was stolen was found and returned to the owner. The thief tried to take it up to a small mountain community. When it stopped and he could not restart it he went to a nearby rancho and stole a motorcycle. The rancher went to the police and they found the ATV parked by the side of the road.

I'm taking anti-inflammatories and aspirin and keeping the tooth pain at a survivable level. Hugely relieved that the dentist will be here soon.

Neighbors Dana and Tom have gone to Cabo for a week and neighbor Maria is in northern California. Our weather is still great so I'll get what garden work I can done. Mostly taking it easy with no pain pills and the tooth ache in addition to my usual arthritis I'm not real active. But I am inspired by all of you and your tales of perserverance in the face of medical issues and family problems. (Thank God, I do not have those.)

Coffee time.

hugs, katie

I watched and enjoyed Resurrection, it's a bit different than I expected. I thought there would be something of a solution and it would then move on to another story elsewhere. Seems a bit weird for all these people to "come back" in the same town. We'll see how it goes. I get bored if a show stays same-o same-o. I guess it's why I don't watch much.

We have very few neighbors who are here year around. We noticed that at one house apparently a service came out and cleared their roof of snow. I hope the owners don't come back any time soon as now there is a 10 foot pile on the deck and all doors are blocked.

I don't have to deal with dentists anymore either thank goodness. One time I called a place and made appointment to have a repair to my denture, which they advertised they were quick and had the best price. When I arrived, receptionist insisted all new patients were required to have an initial xray. I said Ummm I have nothing to xray. Doesn't matter she says, it's is policy. I said see ya.

Morning,

Popping in and taking a break from cleaning. We started on the attic and my house is full of
clutter and boxes.

Been dealing with "the child" issues again. Her car did a number, yet again, and with her starting new job we had to help. Sigh.

Yes, we are supposed to get a BIG storm staring tomorrow night into Wednesday....the weather liars are saying 7 to 12 inches. Sure hope they are wrong.

Nothing much to report, have been having wicked headaches and just upset of my system. I think is stress....imagine that.

Miss you all
Debbie

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Checking in briefly. First, Betty it is 7 hrs. from my home to Sue's provided I am dealing with Spring Breakers going south. I was this trip so it took me 9 hrs driving.......start and stopping mostly due to such heavy traffic on I 75.

Sue is not doing well at all......very serious depression. She has been going to group therapy but it is not working. She had a serious episode during church yesterday and thank God the person who was sitting behind us was a therapist. (Physcologist....sp.?). She tapped us on our shoulders and motioned us to go out into the lobby. Am I glad she did as what followed was so upsetting. Short version, I will be taking her in this afternoon. Not sure what next.......Sue has lost the desire to live. Please keep us in your prayers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry Marion, sending lots of thoughts and prayers!

Trying to post but keep getting this dumb thing about tags and then my post doesn't go through.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Wow .. needless to say, Marion, LindaK, Debbie and Katie (as well as all of you) are foremost in my T&Ps
What can one say about depression, I thank my lucky stars I have never had it myself, but, I have dealt with friends who have .. I guess the sense of helplessness on the part of the caregiver is the worst .. I remember holding my good friend while she wept .. then she would sleep for hours, and, I would hope when she awoke she would feel better, but, it took weeks .. then her fog lifted, and she took baby steps back into life .
Bless you Marion for being there ..

LindaK .. your dear Dad must be in pain, I hope he's being medicated .. what a situation to be in ..

Debbie, I can imagine you must have headaches .. big hugs ..

Katie, don't use the aspirin along with the anti inflamms .. will play havoc with your belly .. hope the dentist relieves your pain .. I am NO FAN of dentists !

Gorgeous sunny day, 40F, but, the howling west wind arrived on the scene about an hour ago :-(

Betty, if the wind and sun keeps up, I think the 'gizmo' for the roof will be put away for another year ..

Think I'll treat myself to a glass of cold white wine^_^

HUGS ALL AROUND

~M~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks everyone. I won't say that I didn't expect some grief issues and yes depressionto happen. I am just so surprised how bad she was. She has been in group therapy and seemed to be doing so well....then bang it all came tumbling down. The extremely bad reaction to the Cymbalta and having to be taken to the ER was just to much. Did go with her to see her primary doctor today so hopefully the new meds will work. The doctor did tell me to keep the meds in my possesion and that someone needs to be with her 24/7. If she is not showing improvement soon I need to take her to the hospital. Please pray that isn't the steps I will have to take. For now it is one day at a time.

Thanks for being here.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Here we will remain Marion for whenever you need us.... Praying......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, must be overwhelming for you..here you need to be looked after and here you are looking after someone else. prayers being said.

way past my bedtime, think I will leave the craft room as is and clean tomorrow..I make such a mess lol

was productive in the last week

Right now Marion probably you will have to take it hour by hour. Sending positive thoughts and prayers. Would a change of scenery help .... like a few days at your house? Remember to take of you!

Well there is sleet out there right now. The dogs are running around looking out all the windows to see what is making that noise. The windows stretch from almost floor level to the ceiling so I will have lots of nose prints to clean off tomorrow.

How did you make out at the dentist M? I've been thinking a lot about Lorna's need for a new limb. Knowing nothing about this organization but what about War Amps? Are they as good to assist as their ads on TV.

Greg home Betty?

Were right here with you Marion.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Marilyn; Thank you so much for words on DS. and the Biz. Hope Hubs enjoyed and did well at the sportsmans show....we have one here this weekend... wonder if it travels around....

LK Thanks too. Prayers for your Dear Dad being said now.

Barb (HUGS) hope the DGK's are staying busy with equestrian /music, etc.
I do feel out of sorts not having been steadily here as of late.
Oh Dianne.... I know what you mean about the dog hair.(HUGS) To Duke and Diesel.

Folks just have to put up with me and dog hair as well Karen.....

Marion glad there was an angel to take care of you and DF...... re: depression

Deb / The Child... one thing after another . Why oh why does it have to be so hard ?

We had a DEAD week last week (Mardi Gras week) maybe everyone went to New Orleans?

Then picked up on the weekend.

Worked on a "BOGO" Promotion for this morning and while it was unsuccessful we ended up having the best Monday we've had as of yet. (Sunshine)

I took a vaca day from the job today and so I missed the BIG NEWS....

Witchy Poo has been dating a "Trust Fund" in New Orleans and so at age 47 (year younger than me) she is planning to marry him and move to New Orleans and manage a sales team there....

She will be leaving the company in 3 weeks. We shall see what this brings. I don't plan to stay at the company regardless. I'd rather wash dishes and mop floors at La Divina.

I'm done.

HUGS
Mary

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Mary, hope you are hanging tough. I'm sure when summer comes your business will really get going. If you've gotten some of this awful winter weather too, it's most likely had an affect on your customer base.

What a surprise re Witchy Poo. Makes you wonder sometimes doesn't it? We had one like that in the office where we used to live, not only landed one but a rich one besides.( We called her Toad in the hole)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! Toad in the hole!

Glad to hear she is moving elsewhere Mary.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You must be sure to give her a GRAND SENDOFF Mary!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

LindaKay you must be frantic about your dad..sometimes don't you think under such circumstances they should take the foot and not put them through toe after toe. How is he taking this..your sister still isn't up to par to look after him is she?

Mary it is so good to see your post, for various reasons, most important because we miss you (think we are a good support system for you, please drop in for words of support)and secondly the extra good news that Witchypoo is leaving..with straight face on day of her going away party you must tell her you will miss her and she's been an inspiration to you then walk away..as for the business Mary, think as the others mentioned that there were so many variables going against you, end of summer, cold winter etc..temps are on the rise and am sure things will pick up..how is your FIL doing? Sending warm hugs your way.

Karen so laughing at your toad in the hole.

Yikes Dianne, think tonight's storm is moving your way..be careful..are you mending? As for Greg, think he gets home sometime today.

Rita just went to put the garbage out and fell down the stairs, pure ice..just salted them! Drats, she goes to lawyers this afternoon to pay for her place, deal closes tomorrow, wouldn't want her in the hospital with broken bones.

Marion, how is Sue this a.m. Guess you won't be heading home for a bit. Warmer temps in her neck of the woods

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm usually not derogatory about people, but she was so nasty to folks and I thought she looked like a toad so......

Betty I'll bet you'll be so relieved to have Greg home safe. Owie hope Rita wasn't seriously injured, we had a thaw here yesterday and it made walking outside treacherous, water on top of ice. We're in the woods, no sidewalks just a path and it slopes up to where we park.

Marion dear, I know you probably won't see this but hoping things go better with your sister.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ^_^

Dianne .. dentist is noon tomorrow, gag me, literally ... getting a filling repaired in a bottom right molar .. besides taking the antibiotics, I will take an ativan as well ..!

So much hard ship amongst us .. all I can do is hope and pray that situations change for the better in all cases.

Re Lorna's limb and War Amps .. welllllllllllllllllllllllll .. we found out about 3 years ago that War Amps is basically for kids .. but.. she did get a one time pay out of $1000. which went directly to the prosthetist .. this whole scenario has been an outrageously long uphill climb .. it's a darned good thing Lorna is a fighter and has a strong will as well.

Off to the gym in an hour .. I am trying to get along without my cane, and, doing not too bad!
Just basically use it when walking on packed snow/ice.

As I said, ALL of you are carried with me as I go about my day .. no fancy tote, just a heart filled with compassion for all those who need it ..

Toodles

Happy Birthday Susan as well, hear me singing..

You'd better get yourself in here or I'll eat that cake that "M" just took out of the oven.

Susan if you are going through hard times, it's best you be with friends so click our link..

"M" just thought that war amps now that many of the soldiers are less in need would go to all ages, not just children, see how much I know...think it's terrible, likely something obvious that we are all missing.

Rita is sitting with hand in a bag of icecubes

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Betty, sorry to hear about Rita, I hope she did not break anything?

Happy Birthday Susan! Hope you have a great day! Please pop in, even with just a hello!

Happy Birthday Susan!! We miss you - poke your head in and let us give you some love and support.

Gearing up for a major storm. Carefully moved (Diesel helped) more firewood in so have enough for 4 - 5 days. You can't walk across part of the LR but I have wood in! Have the bathtub full and some extra buckets. Will go out to the village later and get my Rxs, drinking water and maybe even I will splurge and buy some potato chips. LOL I rarely buy potato chips as I like them far too much.

Hear ya on the meds for the dentist M. I hate having to take them but know I wouldn't want to risk the consequences. Hope your DH had a great show. Bet he socializes a lot with his cronies while there.

Laughing at the 'toad in a hole'!!!

Mary I thought people falling in love were supposed to be happy - not a witch. Guess witchy poo didn't get that memo. Good riddance to her. Hopefully that will make your days left there more bearable. Don't despair things will look up with your business. While your BOGO (I have no idea what that is) wasn't a success it WAS your best Mon. People have to get to know you and realize they will get a quality product and service.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts for your dad LK. Hard times for all - I know you are very concerned and being so far away just adds to that worry.

Marion how are you doing today? How is DS? New meds helping or is it too early to tell.?

OUCH for Rita! Hope things are not serious. This is a time to celebrate not hurt.

Pups want out again!! Spring is coming, the air is full of enticing smells. All of the wildlife is on the move as they are very hungry - nothing for them to get .

Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
Dianne

Susan, happy birthday....sent you message on FB if you are there.

Mary...big hugs. I am so understanding you and your DS issue. Mine is the same.
Really into a big mess....and I have had to walk away. He knows I love him but,
ball is in his court.

AND...The child. Went to work yesterday...and finds out that she has to go OUT into
city of Buffalo and surrounding areas and sell ":marketing" for veriszon door to door.
This was NOT mentioned in interview.....NOT good and not safe. Sigh.

Marion.....when I was on Cymbalta, after 2 years...I had a MAJOR health issue. They thought
I had a stroke. Turns out....it was from Cymbalta....and once off that (withdrawals are not fun)
I was fine!!! So please...be careful with this med.

Waving to all....back to cleaning. I found a few mice nests in these boxes.....if they run out from something...you will hear me in every corner of the USA!!! And the cats are no help!
