Thanks so much Betty. I have seen that ruler your talking about in the sales papers. I think they were on sale for $40.00.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Never when I want one. Lol

She set it aside, says she has problems with cutting and with the formed ruler more body pressure is used and easier on slippage and much easier on the hand.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Betty, my doctor just advised me to use Voltaren Gel on my hands...seems to be doing the job. I know you can buy it over the counter in Canada where we have to have a script to get some. Might be worth a try...who knows.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Marion, over the past 6 months voltaren has been my constant companion as is the freeze spray. Went to health shop yesterday, funny thing happened, not sure if I mentioned it..

Had placed an order for the quilting machine, patterns, specialty needles for quieter etc..then off to health food store..looked at the price of pills that I was told likely would help and thought "I'm not paying that". Finally I shook my head, why is it I can spend hundreds if not thousands on sewing/craft supplies and not give it a thought...here I am paining like crazy, can hardly function and second guessing myself about pills...after talking to myself I picked up another container.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LOL You sound just like my sister.

mulege, Mexico

Mixed news here. My package arrived but the pain pills were stolen out of it.
I'm ding better with dietary changes so I'll survive but it's upsetting. There;s nothing to be done but suggest some disguising of the contents the next time.

It is full spring here.

Speaking of thefts, my new neighbor had an ATV stolen last night. Thieves rolled it down hill without starting it. Best suggestion I could make was to go to the police and offer a reward for its return. The police know who the thieves are and the thought of a reward might get them working on it.

Such is life in Mexico. No meds but I'm in a t-shirt and jeans.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is terrible Ktie on both accounts..read your suggestions on both incidents and think both would work.

Envy you the t-shirt and jeans..lucky lady!

Marion how is your sister dong?? Any chance end of March you will be heading south to visit with her?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your pills were stolen Katie! How long before you can order more?

mulege, Mexico

My friend has another script already and will disguise them and mail them next week. I also wrote to my doctor that a bottle was stolen and asked for a refill which was due anyway. We know each other pretty well and I want him to know I'm not misusing them.

I thought a friend who used to send them to me was being over cautious but I was wrong. Will not make that mistake again.

I'm consoling myself with ice cream. Bad for me but there's a limit to what I can give up right now. Am doing well on no wheat, corn or oats. Have fish, scallops, meat and lots of veggies.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are doing well Katie, all good food, glad you are treating yourself to ice cream.

let's hope the thief isn't working from within and will now watch what comes through with your name on it.

I was in charge of lunch..just took a package of sauce I froze and it was delicious

Rita gets to do supper..think she is cooking for the queen.

She is so excited that she gets her place in 12 days, she has been here 4 months and I've totally enjoyed her being here..kitties as well as I will miss her..likely she won't move in till mid or end of April.

I'm resting, soon to have a hot bath, she is getting her project out so I can help her over a hump, then she will do a bit more on it..I'm done for the day.

mulege, Mexico

I don't think it's our local postman who is the problem but I've made some suggestions to my friend. Put the meds in a bottle labeled rat poison and the rat poison in the meds bottle. Probably not a real good idea but it has its appeal.

Tony will be back Monday. Goody, goody.

Morning all,

Not snowing but cold brrr

Two nights in a row the telephone has rung exactly at 3:23am then 4:43am ..likely a pre recorded call system..no one at other end! Big sigh

Had hot bath, slipped back into bed after first call, tried to sleep, no go so ended up starting my day.

Checked the barometer..one in the house is spouting out liquid as its sooo high, looked on my weather system, it's 102 so headache will be with me for the day.

My cousin Linda is dropping in for a play day, will try to hide the headache, hopefully the meds I took will shortly take over..she is leaving at 7am, bringing timmies and here by 8am.

Dianne, watching Frankie flowers, great show, all about spring flowers, he had 2 arrangements done with faux flowers and real pussy willows, makes me yearn for spring..soon. Hope you feel better today..

Where are Susan and Debbie, given up on us???

Hour difference in Labrador, Greg's team adventure will likely start soon..wish them luck

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope you can keep us posted on how Greg in doing on his trek. And sending more healing prayers for Dianne.... And I certainly pray your head clams down Betty.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Barb, again he will be travelling the 3'330 kl along with the 2 racers, he will be providing backup re equipment/gas and whatever comes..I'll post the link when it starts so you can drop in from time to time..winning team gets $50k, 2nd $30k and 3rd $20k..the rest go home with tales of their adventure.

Snowing now, Linda just called, she doesn't like driving on snowdays, starting out and will turn back if she feels it's unsafe.

Sitting quietly, hear against a pillow, am sure I'll improve as day progresses or the girls will end up with wonky projects and that wouldn't be good.

Lyndonville, NY

I am here Betty, not posting much but reading.

Please rest Betty, take care of yourself. Big hugs to ALL of you......I am reading as often as
possible.

Good morning ..
Pill night last night, so I am kinda 'funky' today ..

Oooooooo Dianne, sure do hope your 'owies' are better today ..

Betty .. if you dial in *57 after you have taken the call, the telephone company can track it and tell you where it has come from .. of course, there IS a cost .. wouldn't hurt to phone your phone company and ask, calls at that hour are nusiance calls
When I was working with VCARS (police) victim violence team, we would dial *67 prior to calling a victim for a follow up .. that blocks your number (it's free)

Debbie .. HUGE hugs for you .. keeping you close in my thoughts, certainly is most unpleasant to have to deal with these challenges.

Gonna go and lay down, try and shut off my brain for just a minute .. once the nausea passes (this aft) I'll be rarin to go, umm, sorta ^_^

Oh, Debbie, big hugs and prayers from here. You are amazing in your ability to cope. Good for Shannon for getting out.

Dianne, remember our agreement. No falling!! Since you did fall you must now take extra good care of yourself and recover fully.

No news here. Watching HLN and the weather reports. Avalanche in Montana; mud in California. Very pleasant here. Not long before it's hot and humid for months so I'm enjoying this while it lasts.

Betty, hope your headache subsides. As I've said before, pain sucks.

need to finish waking up.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Supposed to be another warm day here. We hit 82 yesterday.
Dianne please get some rest so things can heal quickly.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh Katie and Dianne, I'm so sorry you are hurting. You, too, Betty.

Betty I have a couple of friends with fibro and they swear by cherry juice for helping with the pain. You have to use the real stuff though, no blends. 100% juice. It's expensive so they tell me, but well worth it. I know you can get it at the health food store. Might check on line, too, could be cheaper that way.

I'm assuming since you're doing your Florida trip in late March that you won't be joining us in Gatlinburg this year.😢

We're supposed to be getting a doozie of a snow and ice storm starting tonight. Expecting between 4 and 8 inches of snow with half an inch of ice mixed in for good measure, wow I'm tired of winter.

Debbie, I'm heart sick about your son. I'm praying for you and your family. Glad Shannon came back. It's sure a tough situation.

Marilyn, what kind of heat will you have when your fire goes out? Hope the weather breaks soon for you. Bill and a helper are splitting wood right now. He promises that going into winter next year, all that cutting and splitting will already be done during the summer months!

Getting over a nasty cold. Hate being stuck indoors not feeling up to doing anything!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Just did a little research on tart cherries. Looks like they have capsules now as well. Might be worth a try, Betty.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. I was outside on the ice with the pups and 1 of my knees gave way. Down I went hitting a huge tree stump before I landed on the ground. Had to crawl home with the pups making sure I was doing it right. So here I am with 2 broken ribs, 3 cracked ribs, a massive goose egg on my head and a glorious array of bruises from the shoulders down. Hard to breathe when I am upright.

Barb thanks so much I have saved the instructions as I know I will not remember.

Bitter cold here again today. Immediately thought of you when I heard about the 400 accident Betty.

Need to lay down. Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH Dianne! Sorry to hear about all your bruises and broken ribs! Sounds like you need to go to a Dr. Sending prayers!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

OMG Dianne .. that's quite the array of boo boos, and, I know only too well what broken and cracked ribs are all about ..
I took a fall on ice about 3 years ago while out with Lilly, no one saw me fall from the house, and, poor Lilly was frantic, I was crying and laughing all at the ame time and terrified she would run, but, no way would she leave my side ..
Finally I was able to crawl over to the chain link fence and pull myself up .. quite the shock to the system, and, it took a good while to heel :-(
I'm sure if I did it now I'd shatter !!!
Take pain meds and relax, but, i know you'll worry about the dogs. Wish I lived closer.

CHERRIES, DH searches them out as a preventitive for gout .. the health food store has the juice and capsules ..
Gout and fibro are basically forms of arthritis .. hope you do try it Betty ..

Good gravy Joyce, sounds like quite the storm !! One thing about this cold, we don't have to shovel it !
Take care ..

Evening all, girls just left, Rita on her way to help a friend move and Linda wanting to get to Barrie before dark.

Thanks for info on cherrie juice, Rita bought me a bag when she did groceries yesterday, likely not as good but I will eat them anyway and hope I get some good out of them.

Wow Dianne, you sure did a number on yourself, you must be in so much pain...do you have a fenced in area the dogs can be let out in?? Wish I lived closer as well.

Joyce, sorry you are coming down with a cold, maybe the day resting will help it not get worse.
Think everyone has learned a lesson, winter can be cruel and long..we will be prepared next year for sure. Wind is up, few flakes in the air, calling for a better day tomorrow.

Omg Debbie, don't know what to say about Shane, heart breaks for you. We try our best after that they have to learn the hard knocks themselves. You must be beside yourself, bet Shannon got her eyes open, long way to see things how they are though..might have done her the world of good.

Head is just a pounding so a little lay down is in order

Betty is this the ruler your looking at?

Verona, ON

Betty and M I hope you both are feeling a bit better this evening.

Saw a doc LK as I needed to be checked for a concussion and xrays of my rib cage. Awesome pain meds but I hate taking them. Will take some soon in hopes they will help me fall asleep. I might try the bed tonight but I have a feeling the recliner ill win out. The pain of actually getting into and out of bed is out of this world so the recliner helps lessen the pain as there is less movement.

LK are you babysitting Dylan Marley all weekend? Loved the tote you did from Betty's pattern.

Oh Jean, Debbie and Barb it looks like you 3 are really in for a storm. Sending positive thoughts and hopes that the Weather Liars will be living up to their name.

Katie I hope your pain meds get there soon. What a dirty trick. Although my 2 adult nephews live way back in a northern bush area and I send them in OTC meds. In the last box the 100 pill bottle of Mersyndol (excellent OTC here in Ont. works as well as T3's) and the large bottle of Robaxacet plus some candy were taken out, box sealed back up and sent on to the guys. Worst mail theft I ever experienced was when a huge wholesale order from our SG supplier in Quebec didn't arrive. It was sent Priority Post but never made it to Verona. About 3 weeks later the 3 boxes turned up at the Wholesalers EMPTY. Only someone at Canada Post who did SG would be interested in what was in those boxes.Of course it was a rush order in November so I was really up the creek.

Going to try and change position and find on that doesn't hurt as much. Need to get the pups out.... they are going to be missing the amount of time they usually get to play outside for a few days unless Steve and Pam drop in to let them out.

Mary I am sorry you found out the hard way but it always seems the best thing to do when you have a business is not hire relatives nor lend them money. Hope things are starting to settle in for you and the business gets its 'mojo' going.

Sweet dreams everyone.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am sure many an hour was spent on that video "M". Might have managed to get Sailor to stay still for a bit but not for the entire skit..thought it was cute.

LindaKay I don't think that is the ruler..if course my mind was going from project to project and saw a clerk use it and thought with what ease she was cutting..guess I'll see it better when I pick it up Monday..would be nice if it were the one in the link though.

Dianne, hope the meds have worked and you are sleeping soundly, I'm here counting sheep!

Maybe the postal worker who got the stained glass also got the wooden candle holder that never arrived with Santa Warren's Santa hat. Lol

Did you end up having to pay for the shipment.

Can't remember dianne if I took a photo of the stained glass lampshade I got in Meaford.
Lots of changes in the stained glass industry here in canada, was told one of the major glass manufacturers is no longer, supplies harder to get unless you purchase half their stock..lamp bases at an unbelievable price..difficult to make pieces for profit,

Good day everyone ..

Dianne, try using a pillow against your chest when you get up, it sometimes works .. kinda squeeze it tight to you to brace the ribs.
Hoping you have a better day today ..

Canada Post .. no friend of mine .. in any way, shape, or, form .. I use UPS or PUROLATOR if I have near and dear items (or gift cards) to send. Have been 'ripped off' by Canada Post more than a few times .. the last time it was Easter cards for the grands .. foolishly put a 'tenner' in each card .. Brooklyns made it, Austin's didn't, called Can Post .. the customer service rep just laughed at me, BOY was I irrate .. so .. that was that !!

Do I need to say it's COLD here!??
We did get wood, not the kind we wanted, but wood anyway.

Heading for the gym, expecting the fam this afternoon .. feeling on the edge of 'ishy' still, but, like any good woman, I'll push forward !!!

Stay warm and safe

Betty, I've had this cold for over a week already. It's better for sure, but still a nuisance.

We're expecting big weather shortly. We've already had the rain part. It's ice on the windshield of my car. The snow looks like it might hit harder all around us. That won't make me mad!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy Birthday Betty. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Thank you,
It's a cold day out there, brrr
Andrew was here snow plowing early, not snowing right now but more to come.

Raking in USA $$$ lol. LndaKay and Rita both gave me a good chunk to spend at Joann's next time we go or while I'm in Florida at months end.

Rita wanted to take me out for breakfast or lunch before she leaves for the week, declined as I'd just like to have a quiet day, really is only a day!

Received an e-mail from Greg during the night, reads as follows

It's been an exciting day Mom, Brent and I left early this morning by truck, drove an hour, then rode 100 km (one way)  into a warm up shelter with fuel for 4 teams. Once we returned to Lab City at 6:00 PM, Chad and I loaded the other truck and drove 580 km to Goose bay, and arrived at 2:00 am just in time to see the first come into the first mandatory 8 hrs layover‎.... just waiting for Kirk/Dave before heading to bed. will keep you posted..love

                 Greg

Best you stay in Joyce out of harms way re weather and another day of healing.

"M" you sure are staying steadfast with YMCA program, am sure I'd have fallen off the exercise wagon by now.

Off to see how Rita is making out with her quilt top

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Very Happy Birthday wishes coming to you Betty from both Norm and I. In celebration we are having an English Toffee Timmies for breakfast. Hoping you get to rest and that you have a great day.
Been watching Cain's Quest.. Greg's team isn't doing too badly. Hope they stay safe....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Betty, happy birthday to you! Sure wish I could be there in person to celebrate with you!
