LOL! We're pretty compatible. He's also pretty self sufficient. Helps with laundry, does the grocery shopping, mostly, pays the bills.....you get the idea!
I will not allow him tto tuch my laundry!!!!!! been there, done that
Please say prayers for my Dad. He has an open wound on his toe, next to the one he lost last year. He may have to have it removed.
Sending prayers Linda. He has been through so much I'm hoping they can save this one....
Thanks Barb! Me too. He is not a happy camper right now.
Every time I think of your Dad I remember your finger accident. How is it doing by the way? Does it still give you trouble?
LOL! Yeah, I still can't bend it all the way, and some days it is hard to hold a pen to write with, but I have learned to live with it!
Funny how the mind associates!!! Glad it is livable for you. And it is truly amazing how we can adapt....
Hello all I guesss I have been gone a few days really missed a lot. Sorry for everyone losses and the sickness. Prayeds going out for you all. My husband found out last summer in a big way that he has divaticulitus. They said it was myth at the hospital to about the seeds. He was one sick man and much pain!!! In the hospital for 5 days. He is alright now. Hopefully.
I agree on the pain. Last summer I had a bad flare up and after a week of no relief I went to the E R. After 3 shots of morphine they finally sent me home.
Hello all. I can't get into DG earlier.
Goodness, I will have to give thanks to the Lord that Rebel Michael is still with us. So proud of you Sis Kathy!
Will do LK. Hope it ends there, just the toe. I'm sure you're anxious to see him.
Hi Cookie and Barb. Has it stopped snowing there?
It's in the 30s today. A drastic drop from 70s yesterday. Climbing up by 10 degrees through the week. For sure, spring will be delayed.
Am lucky that I didn't get diverticulitis.. touch wood. Five days in the hospital!! That must be some serious pain Ronna.
It's Mardi Gras, celebrated in a big way in Catholic countries, and in Louisiana. It's a holiday back there!! Yep, Louisiana gets an extra holiday for Mardi Gras!
Anyone giving up anything for Lent?
Thank God, it's not required for me... if not it would be my roasted peanuts. You know I can't give up my red wine!
Just flurries here this morning. Supposed to be in the low 20s for the rest of the week. We MAY hit 40 Sunday!!!!
Morning everyone! 43 here this morning. Supposed to reach 71 this afternoon!
only getting to 50 here. 70's by the weekend
Good morning!!
Not as cold as yesterday, supposed to reach a high 50s, yay. But nevertheless, looking forward to weeding weather. NOT!! I meant, blooming weather :D
Yesterday, Kel had to do a pick up at the beach. We decided to stop by at Big Lots and Kel was vacillating between two pc tables. One was a Sauer for 49 and the other, was an unrecognisable brand for 45. He picked up the cheaper one, found the box to be heavier than the Sauer, and when he brought it to the cash register.. it rang up $149!
Of course, Kel pointed out what the price was on the display model to the manager.
He was a that true old time manager.. you know.. the one that will admit to the error but will sell it for what's shown. So, Kel got it for 45!!
He told the manager that he won't get it if it gets someone in trouble or fired. The manager explained that the furniture clerk is new, and that will be an expensive lesson for him! But it won't cost him his job.
Talk about a happy husband.
Didn't find new jelly rolls nor charm packs, but for myself, got a whole bunch of bottled curry sauce for a dollar each. So I was happy too!
Have a good Wednesday sistahs. Oh.. please include this friend in your prayers. She's Vergie's niece, Dawn, 54 years old who has Scleroderm with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She's being evaluated now for a double lung transplant in Pittsburgh , PA.
Thank you sistahs.
Glad to hear he got a good deal on the table Jaye!
Will add Dawn and family to our prayers tonight!
What do you use curry sauce for? Do you cook with it? Or like tabasco sauce, like Todd uses on everything he eats.
Use it for gravy, LK. You can thin it with chicken stock. Great for all kinds of meat, even fish. Cook them in it.
I normally make my own curry sauce. Heaping tbsp. of curry powder make into a paste. Brown it in butter, than add stock.
But bottled curry sauce saves time. There are different kinds of curries. For your first curry, try the "Korma" as that's the least spicy.
Thanks for the info Jaye. I will have to give it a try.
Coming down with another cold, loading up on vitamins.
Hot spiced tea, LK!! That shortened any impending colds I'm about to have. Some cinnamon and honey added to that. Good thing about VitC, you can't overdose. Any excess, you'll piss it off.
Pray for Marion's sister too. She's been taken to the hospital.
Sorry to hear that. Will say prayers for her. Is she headed south?

Sending my prayers as well. I didn't realize she was ill.
Hope your cold is short-lived Linda.
Well we got our precious little girl, but the Dr. bobbled it seriously. He did an ultra-sound on Mon. and said she was growing fine so he would keep the 1st. What he didn't pay attention to was her position, she was way high and no way was she in birth position. This should have told him it was too early. Her size was good 5lb. 2 oz., 18 " long. He had to pry her out she was so high, this stressed her. She wasn't breathing well, so was put on oxygen, she has pneumonia and another infection. Then she became jaundiced, which was the very least of her problems. They attempted a spinal tap twice and gave up on it, trying to find out what infection she has. We didn't get to see her face until the 3rd. The oxygen mask had her face nearly all covered. My DGD was sobbing terribly when I arrived on Mon. as they just called and told her the baby was jaundiced, without explaining what it meant, and they were preparing to do the spinal tap. I immediately took her to the NICU explaining on the way about jaundice. We talked to them a bit. then had to leave for the waiting room. After an hour the Dr. came out, it was his first day on rotation but he's very good and will be caring for her the rest of her stay. He very carefully explained every thing to my DGD and answered all her questions. He also said he was taking her off the oxygen so we could finally see her and DGD could hold her a bit before she was put under the light. By today they had IDed the infection and it is clearing up, she is now able to eat and they will be removing the feeding tube. Dr. is optimistic she might be able to go home on Sat. As soon as mommy was holding her, she snugged right down and was so content. Her name is Rebecca Grace Anne. for her grandmother, my daughter, who was named for my great grandmother. I'm so very happy the name is being carried on.
1. Birthday, 2. learning to suck, 3.All of her, 4. with daddy, first bottle 3-5-2014
Wow, what a little sweetheart! She's had a rough start, but she'll do good now!
You're still planning on coming to Tennessee aren't you, Karen?
Prayers for Dawn.....
As of now Joyce, I'm still planning on TN.
Karen so precious !
LK hope your dads toe is doing better ? How is your cold ? hope it goes away quickly.
Kathy so glad Mike is still around LOL .
Cookie i don't care what you say , Bill is a keeper LOL :)
Prayers for Marion's sis. sending you all my love girl.
Had a wonderful lunch with a friend. We had Tiramisu. My fav.
Things are akward here at home. Weird feeling.
Awe,she is so precious! Adding her to our prayers Karen!
Cold is hanging in there. I am thinking I will go to urgent care tomorrow, and see whats going on.
praying for marion's sister.
Karen, what a beautiful baby!
Thanks all, DGD sends me updates every time she gets to visit with her. Our little Becka is doing better all the time. Drinking mama's milk from a bottle now hoping to go to direct feeding maybe today. NICU nurses are astounded at amount of milk DGD is supplying. I told her to tell them it's a family trait. Most of us could have fed multiple babies.
Linda sure hope you shake that darned ole cold soon. Good thing you're seeing Dr. might have more going on.
Thanks for your thoughts everyone. Due to weather conditions, I will not be driving down today but tomorrow instead.
Sue was taken to the hospital yesterday afternoon due to a serious reaction to the anti-depression and anti inflammatory drug combination she had been prescribed. They keep her in the ER for several hours and watched her following some shots and other calming meds. I have spoken with her this morning and she was able to sleep last night and has some relief in her back and legs. She had seen the weather report this morning so she called and asked me to not travel today.
I haven't said a lots regarding what is going on but she has pinched nerves in her back due to several falls.....one of which kept me from going to the get together at Cookies several years ago. Then in mid January the reality of mom's death hit her extremely hard and she has been battled depression. She is in therapy 3 days a week and seemed to be making progress until this happened. I am going to stay a few days until she recovers from the meds and while she has the shots recommended by the Neurologist for the pinched nerves.
Please keep us all in your prayers.
Hope your sister is doing better today Marion. And are you going to emergency care Linda? Seems like this is a really bad year for colds. I thank heaven I haven't had one yet. Knock wood. (which I just did!!)
Welcome to the world, Rebecca Grace Anne. Your great grandma and us have been praying for you. Seems your entry into this world has been rough, but you'll grow into a beautiful, loved child.
Karen, I'm sure you're the calming force for your DGD. How blessed your family is to have you around during times like this.
Marion, I'm glad that Sue isn't selfish as to want you with her, irregardless of the weather condition. Hope that either Kim or Charles will accompany you.
LK, that would be the best thing .. off to the doctor..if you couldn't shake that cold. Lots of fluids to loosen up congestion.
What have you been doing to avoid the colds, Barb?
Yes, Bill is a keeper.. plus he's good looking Cookie!!
Sue, my sister is divorcing her DH but for financial reasons, they chose to share the house. She said it's been uncomfortable, and hoping to be able to move out with the older kids' help.
Hope that Tim be civil towards you, for the kids' sake. (((((HUGS)))))
It didn't go up to the 50s yesterday. Last night was a drop to the 30s. I'm sure this yoyo weather makes the pharmacists and doctors rich.
Yucky temps again today, another day I won't be able to do a clean up in the yard. In the meantime, will be trying to clean up the spare room which is a catch it all!!
Thank you for praying for Dawn. She thanks my sistahs too.
I think we all have that catch all room Jaye. I think if we cleaned ours out, most of it would go to the dump. Don't know why we keep what we do!
Marion, please drive carefully. Give your Sis gentle hugs from us please?
I can only work a few minutes at a time LK. So, it will be an all day or two days process. I think we're the sort that hung on to memories..
I have been staying home and then I take Mucinex at the first sign of any congestion. It has worked all winter for me but then I have only been out about 6-7 times since Dec 1st....... Norm took me this morning for a haircut!! It was sooo cold out but no wind so I did okay. It is not supposed to go above 25 all week!!!
Barb, my MIL does the same. It works for her too.
I'm very grateful that it does. I really can't afford to get a cold at all if I can help it because it will mean a hospital visit. I don't want that for sure.....
I haven't had a flu shot for 2 years now. touching Kel's head.. so far the spiced tea helps.
Me too can't afford more medical costs.
We get a flu shot every year, they are free through our medical insurance, and we have been pretty lucky. DH said every bone in his body aches, that's making me very nervous. Staying postive that he will be OK soon. Weather is nice now and I hope the arthritis, etc. will get better. Thanks for all the prayers.
That baby is so beautiful. Amazing how new babies makes all of us feel so happy.
Well off to the library to take a book back and pick up another one I had on hold. Do get a little exercise once in a while. LOL
