This is funny!!! I got my haircut this morning too!!!! Winter blahs did it for me.
Been watching the figure skating on the computer. Amazing.

Guess we are all hankering to look prettier. Lol

Olympics start tomorrow officially right?? Love watching the skaters..is it the 1st time dance skating is scheduled at Olympics? Not sure what the difference is

our Katie lives in an east coastal town in Mexico....

Bob got a callback on a job he interviewed for, Tuesday!
Said he wouldn't be considered for the caretaker job, but they want him to come in re: a Warehouse position - 2nd interview is at 1:30 - one hour from now :-)

This means we're not going to the job fair - too, too, too cold for a bus, for me..... 'sides - it's not downtown and would take Forever to get there.....
I have an interview with Telus, tomorrow....
Keep your prayers coming, and all body parts crossed that we get jobs this week!!

There are lots of places in Mexico that are safe, and if your a resident, you know a lot more about your area, and how to be careful. We live right on the Mexican border of Ciudad Acuna, and it is not safe, not even for those that live and work there. The main street that attracts all the tourist when you first cross over is all deserted now, as the Zeta's have forced everyone to close, or they have been killed. The neighbor that lives right behind us, had an auto parts store in Mexico, and he refused give into the thugs, and he was be-headed right there on the street.

Did have a bad tale that happened to a friend, too bad isn't it that one can't travel over for the day just to enjoy..for us it would be to say we did, certainly have to reconsider a day trip...

Was listening to the news..3 men died of Bert attacks yesterday from all the snow they shovelled..broke a record in Toronto re snow.

Just took gravol, don't know how I ended up itch liquid gravel, hoping it works as well as the pills.

Picked up Noah,bookeeper at his work is off on a 3 week vacation so the estimated his hours..only got $160 vs $360 as he worked a few extra days when school had snowdays,,told him its just like having a saving account, said 'grandma it's valentines day nect Friday, wanted to Katherine something pencil...sheesh these kids are 16 what possibly would cost more than this weeks paycheck. Enjoying my one no one time with him. Kyle has been home late evenings so havet had to check up on his doings..Noah said last night Kyle had hid girlfriend over and cooked a big meal. I asked how the house looked and Noah said they clean as they go, even did laundry. Am sure Greg and ml will appreciate that all wrnt well this week.

Hello back atcha, folks. I'm involved in our 3 day annual event "Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering". It' our 22nd year and I have sold ads for the booklet, sold raffle tickets, and now will take tickets at the Sunday afternoon show.

As for rebuilding that cabin...it can't be done....Lix's DH, my cousin, built foor his sister and one year we has a "female cousin reunion there....wonderful memories..

In the last year I have moved into a 4 story ( tallest building in town)Seniors apartment building,, but no more gardening. I have had my drivers licenses revoked....by my daughter!!!...but that
s OK...if I have no way to go some where she has to take me LOL

Morning everyone. It is 33 and cloudy and supposed to reach 50 today.

Sickness all around, feeling better than last night, well enough to have gotten dressed and organizing craft room..even took the hockey quilt tote out to see if I can get back at it this weekend..

Went through all that fabric I got over Christmas holidays, decided to pick out the least favorite of fabrics for backing of the tree skirts that I have left to do..3 or 4 more and I shall move on to something else.

While organizing found the boxes to be mailed out next Saturday in Buffalo and for the life of me can't find the box I was shipping to Marion..perhaps I thought it belonged in the Christmas totes ..will keep searching! Have Joyce's, the rid feeder swap and Karen's fabric box..other has to be here somewhere.

Going to see if I can eat meat pie a d mashed taters for lunch

Please say prayers for my Niece Ashley. She is in the hospital in labor with her 2nd child. She lost her first little girl a few years ago, and we are all praying for an easy delivery and healthy child. Her due date was the 18th, but she went into labor early this morning. So far, Dr.'s say everything is looking good.

I went to an interview today - @ Telus - Phone/TV/Internet provider. I found out after I got there that it's for a door-to-door salesperson.... Told them with my knee, that I couldn't do it. However, they said there are call-center positions in the Loyalty Program, and the interviewer is passing my resume to the manager of the Loyalty Program department - they're looking to fill a couple of positions there.

Oh My I think of the kids play along about Herman the worm.

Reminds me of a neighbor waaaay back when we were having our kids and she told me she named her newest Ralph while curling her lip. I asked is it for someone? She said yes her step father and she really didn't like him much. So of course I asked why she felt the need to give her baby the name....Oh my mom kind of expected it.

Well, mine are all named for family but ones I loved. Very honored to have three named for me. Some it didn't matter how i felt about them I wasn't about to burden one of my kids with the name.

A surprise after my dad passed, My Son and DDIL surprised me at the adoption of their three by giving one of the boys my dad's name as his middle name.....Ellsworth...One I wouldn't use. Funny though Ryan thinks it's cool. Even funnier, one of my older grands said "Hey I wanted that for my middle name" and changed his too it too.So Troy Aaron became Troy Ellsworth. Go figure.

Congrats, right back atcha! I'll bet that the little guy with "grow into" the name!

Ohhh Barb, best thing is meds and sleep..wouldn't you know it would be on a weekend though..maybe you can leaf through quilt magazines while resting.

Hair at 10:10 then will put the fabric cupboard together and organize it. Wanted plastic bins from $$$ store but was 1/2 hr too early and wasn't about to wait until opening time.

Did groceries, decided I'm hungry for stuffed peppers and melon merangue pie

My computer died yesterday. Tony took it home with him and his son Antonio stayed up late and fixed it. He is such a smart young man and is studying hard in college. I gave Tony some money for him (He would never ask for it) and reminded him that I will always hel if Antonio needs books or supplies for school. I still smile whne I think of surprising Antonio with a new laptop a couple of Christmases ago. My best present ever was the one I gave to him. And Tony's kids have the gift of gratitude which increases the pleasure of giving them gifts.

During the years that I've been here (about twenty off and on) there have been two murders that I know of, both drug related. I am home so much and in a fairly safe neighborhood with a policeman neighbor, four dogs and a fence, so I feel quite safe. I am careful when I travel and have as many Federales check on my safety as I have had try to give me a hard time.I've also learned some safe ways to stand up to the a******s.

I am so glad to have my puter back. I miss all of you when it's down.
