Morning all

We moved from here

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1348410/

No snow so far this mornimg, do say that LindaKay is sending me the front that will bring snow by late afternoon.

Hard to believe I slept from 6pm last night through to this morning, body said I needed it.

Susan, oh oh, you know I'm terrible, get these lovely packages and hate to use them but promise, will tonight!

Barb, we're you sewing blocks?

Katie sorry there were no kids at the gathering, know you were looking forward to playing with the children but know you enjoyed the furries.

Mom dropped into Barrie yesterday, was pleased with all I had gotten done for her which was good. Omg couldnt believe when i saw her, her left side of the face completlely red and raw and cut , skin with deep cut...ouch sure looked sore..i asked what happened, she said 'lets just say i fell' lets just say?? Oh no, what really happened. Apparently she couldnt sleep, aunt muriel's dog must have been sleeping, she went to cuddle and kiss it, startled the dog and it bit her. Very upsetting for all..entirely her fault..

She couldn't find the deed to the cottage, that was a worry, i called Linda at the court office, she ran over to the land registry office next office over and within 15 minutes had faxed it over to me. Mom was visiting with her brother and aunt Muriel..today she and aunt Muriel head back to the city. Bernie and SIL Charlene are hoping to spend the weekend with mom as to get a few things done for her so do hope that comes to pass. Think once she decides what she will do with both places it will be time for healing.

Just tidied up the craft room, girls are coming today, won't be sewing, will be painting, not

What is on your agenda today?sure where they would work had I not! Lol

Yes Betty - sewing blocks. Today I will try to get photos of the different BOMs I am in this year. I love doing things this way now since postage has gone up once again. Swaps are wonderful but can get expensive to mail out to everyone included.

Betty, I sure hope your Mom went to the Dr with that dog bite!
Rita sure has been busy sewing, so glad you taught her how to sew.
Love that prayer shawl, that is so pretty., as is the shams for your Mom!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

For sure a dog bite should always be looked at especially on the face.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Love the pictures. The shams are beautiful!

We're expecting really fugly weather. Guess I'll have to make a decision soon on rather I should cancel garden club. I hate to, but sure wouldn't want anyone getting hurt.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, mom didn't go to the doctor, perhaps when she gets home later today! She told me not to tell anyone it was a dog bite, first thing this morning Sharon sent me an MSN asking me how bad mom's face was..lol

Think I'd be cancelling as well Joyce, sure would hate something happening when it's your call, best be on the safe side, there will always be another day for the gathering!

mulege, Mexico

We have been dog bite free for a while. I am very careful with Maxd as he has certain opinions and I'm not sure I have all of them figured out. It's funny because he is so loving most of the time. But cross one of his invisible boundaries and he goes nuts and can be very dangerous. sorry your mom got bitten but ther's a reason they say to let sleeping dogs lie.

I had one of those large plastic bottles of mixed nuts (no peanuts) on a kitchen counter. I'd eatten maybe one-fourth of them. Yesteday one of the dogs took the bottle off the counter and outside where they got it open and ate all the nuts!! Guess they had not had enough dinner I know Maax likes nuts but it was probably Scout, who is much taller, who got them off the counter. Teamwork.

Kitchen clean up is progressing. I was ceaning out the freezer yesterday. Left some cheese in easy reach of the dogs but they didn't touch it. must have been full of nuts.

Hard to think but you are all in my prayers.

hugs, katie
My upset stomach is better but I'm still dealing with a lot of pain. Like lots of us.

Lyndonville, NY

Who sent us the storm coming? Sigh. 8 to 10 inches of snow predicted from tonight to tomorrow
evening.

Not much to report from here...trying to help kids with life and stay afloat myself.

Betty, Mama Fran really needs that checked, especially since her immune system is down
from leg injury and everything else.

I am still on for the 15th in Buffalo.

Hugs to all, stay safe in this weather....

Hard to keep up with family anf friends lives at times, got to look after YOU first Debbie.
So hope we can meet up, same brats coming with me, only thing that would stop me is a storm

Saying same storm will hit Toronto, maybe Barrie, was hoping for a snow day. Keep saying next month it will all but be over

Going to try and stay up belong 6pm tonight, wouldn't mind quilting one or two of the tree skirts so I can play tomorrow afnd hand sew

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hmmm didn't we just do birdhouse?

Could it be windchime?? Off to check it out

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We just did the bird feeder.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hmmm not sure if the 2nd piece I bought was a feeder or birdhouse, thinks me made an error, oh well

I'm back with bad news. My neighbor's house burnt down. It is so sad. They should never let her come home from the hospital. She went today to see the Doctor and get the answers from the last test.

They still don't know what is wrong but told her she is worse now than when she was in hospital. Send her to get another Cat scan on her brain, want to see if there is a change.since she had one last week. I think they are going to send her to another hospital in Winston Salem. I hope so

Her Mother come up to help her. She lives in Tenn. They were here for dinner yesterday. Baily her dog was so happy to see her. She knocked Nina down 2 times. Please keep her and her Mother in your prayers.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Oh my Liz, you must be beside yourself, what terrible news on both accounts..hopefully her mom and Baily were with her when she went to the doctor..tummy is just churning, to be ill and then lose all n a fire..tragic for sure..sending prayers! let's hope your neighbor gets the treatment she needs in order to get well.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'll be praying for her Liz. That is such a shame....
It's snowing big time here. It didn't start until around 5:30 this morning and already there is about 4 inches of snow on the ground. They are saying 8=14 before it is done tonight...Glad Norm is home and NOT going out.

mulege, Mexico

Prayers for your neighbor, Liz. How awful for all concerned.

We are having a beautiful gold and red sunrise.

Left a plastic jar with a few cashews in it on a higher counter last night. Someone got it down, opened it and ate all the remaining nuts. I feel like I'm living with addicts.

Coffee time.

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

nut addicts..lol got to love it Katie!!! Sure hoping the weather in Mexico where Greg/Mel are it is nice for them..group of 30 went..the type who will all have fun regardless of the weather but nice weather helps.

Toronto is also getting hit hard..Sharon said it's terrible in Orangeville as well..everything closed.

So glad Barb to hear Norm is home for the day..feet up the both of you and enjoy a good movie.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about your neighbor Liz! Do they know what started the fire? Sending lots of prayers!

Betty, what part of Mexico did they all go to?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Myan Riviera I believe, think it's 30 and rain..likely in more tropical weather it rains then clears soon after??? at least it's not snowing..

Sharon is glad that Westminster Show isn't until next week..Graeme is travelling to NYC today thought with 2 of Sharon's dogs, Ember and inuk, but Ember is the only female so she'll go best of opposite... she is hoping Inuk will win, if he does I believe it will be 6 in a row he wins 'Best of Breed' that is an achievement in itself

just changed number of years..I thought it was more than what it was..this would be the 6th then he retires and she's hoping Ember will take over.

I still haven't heard from them this morning. Rita said she would call after talking to the Doctor this morn. We think the wood stove started the fire.
I need to get groceries.
Another neighbor is going to watch Baily till I get back.
Will keep you up to date.

Victoria Harbour, ON

thank you Liz, hopefully there will be good news re health issues..where shall they stay?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Prayers coming your way, Liz.

Betty, did the breeding take when Sharon came to the states? Can't remember if that was Inuk or not.

Saw om the weather that you're getting snow. Like you need some more of that, huh?
We got several inches last night, but gladly not the ice they said could accompany it! Planning an inside day today though.

I invited Sherry over yesterday to have an early supper and help eat some of that coconut cake. We had a good time watching animals on you tube. Funny stuff. She hadn't seen the puppy commercial from Budweiser for the Super Bowl, is I,showed her that and she made me show it 3 times in a row. What an animal lover she is.

Guess I better get moving!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Joyce, it takes 28 days..an ultra sound will be done Feb.14th to determine if it worked and if it did how many pups she shall have. Sharon hasn't been lucky with her breeding last few times even though different moms/dads, just fate. Costly I will tell you, even this breeding was mega $$$.

Hope you are telling the girls I think of them often..time for another roadtrip you guys

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - hope your mom's dog bite has been looked at, by a Dr!
Roadtrip? yes please!! To Calgary, k? lol
Hope the breeding takes, for Sharon's champion!
katie - prayers that your tummy gets feeling better.
Liz - how awful that her house burned down.... !! Does she have insurance?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, you have to move closer. Lol
Any news on Bob's test and home depot?

In bed, all comfy, few magazines to lo through but I can almost bet I'll fall asleep before I get through a few pages..

Picked Noah up at work, had some laughs..he was saying only thing h didn't get his year was his ski pass, told him Christmas was right around the corner, he started to laugh..wondered ho with his grandma being half done here di his dad get hi shop Christmas eve from..l

On a mission, got another to done, went downstairs and yes Susan talked to myself, said 'self, are you up to quilting one of them? Self said upstairs you go, meds and a good night sleep is needed...and Susan, I listened to self!!

Nina did get another MRI There wasn't much change from the other 2 MRI she had while in the hospital. I think they have given her every test there is. I have not heard them mention a PET scan. The spinal tap ruled out MS.

The one Doctor thinks she may have Encephalitis. I think he

is going to send her to the Baptist hospital in Winston Salem.

He has started Nina back on heavy dose of steroids

They are spending the nights at a hotel in Boone NC
She does have good insurance.
They were here for a late lunch today. Nina is not the same. This has not only affected her
speech but her mind too.

Crossville, TN

Liz...Did this neighbor live in the cabin that your DH built for his sister some time ago? That's the only close neighbor that I know of you having> I will add both of them to my prayers. You are such a caring person to be having them for meals. I love you. Jo

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Hey Jo, yes the only close neighbor. Thank you for the prayers.

What are you doing now ? You are always into something
exciting. I would love to see you. Are you coming east this summer?
Love you too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Liz, nothing worse than being terribly I'll and the cant diagnose the reason for it.the fire will surely take a toll on her mentally.. Can the home be repaired or does it have to be rebuilt?? Friend had hers rebuilt and every time there was dampness you could, smell the fire.

Waving Jo, glad you popped in.

Dianne/Debbie, how much of the last storm did you get?

Time to move these old bones...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Jo! Glad to see you pop in! How are you doing?

Morning everyone!

Liz it has got to be so frustrating not knowing what is going on, I pray they find what it is soon!

Victoria Harbour, ON

are you enjoying sunshine LindaKay?

Girls want me to check out a bit of Texas re our August trip
know they want to go to Alamo in San Antonio..any suggestions?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

No sunshine here. It is cloudy and 30 degrees.

Alamo is awesome as well as the river walk. There is also the botanical gardens to visit.

http://www.sabot.org/

There are also lots of old missions to visit.

Been to the Alamo and through most of Texas about 22 years ago, actually there was the oil spill along the coast so headed down to Padre island and over to Metamoris (?) Mexico for some shopping..have to research different towns/city..maybe next week I'll start working on and east/west trip and see which they pick..always talk of NewOrleans lol

Sun is out today but bitter cold. Sitting here hand sewing a binding on a tree skirt..might take Noah and his girlfriend out for supper tonight, we'll see what they have planned.

Thought I might go over to Fabricland, there is a buy 1 get 2 free sale, likely ends that one wouldn't want to purchase, we'll see, might be something good amongst their bolts.

Winterama weekend in Penetang, might check with Dougie my cousin, promised to take me and the girls for a scoot ride, might be the weekend to do it, getting antsy, been a long hard winter!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't go to Mexico! It is not safe anymore. With the drug wars and gangs it is so dangerous now. At least once a week in the news we hear of public hangings or beheadings.

Victoria Harbour, ON

ouch...don't a lot of people when in south Mexico go to matarmoes? thought it would have been fun but not at the expense of losing my head! lol Here is hoping Greg/Mel make it back ok

Would be fun spending the day doing those Missions..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The interior of Mexico is OK, you just have to be careful to always have someone with you. But the borders cities are not too safe.

We got about 10 inches of snow, was pretty nasty til about 10:00 last night. Right now is sunny and bright....but temps dropping. Supposed to be -15 tomorrow with wind chill.

Went and got my hair cut this morning and have been doing little things in the house. Not much

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

About same temp here Debbie, was -19 this a.m. then factor wind chill brrr
I need to get my hair cut as well, maybe I'll call and get it done tomorrow.
Amazing how doing little things in the house makes a difference.

At the begining of each month I receive a list of daily monthly activities and cleaning projects, started it again in November and already see a big difference.

Next is the drawer where I keep my utensils, filled to the brim, just know 75% of it should be thrown in the garbage.

about 1/2 hr. left on the sewing by hand then I'll be looking for something to do

got lazy, didn't go to Fabricland, guess it means I'll have more $$ to shop at Joann's next weekend lol

need solder and foil so I just might call stained glass studio and ask if they can stay open extra 15 minutes so I can pick some up, that or just set a bag outside for me. Be nice to do a stained glass piece vs sewing this weekend.
