Susan, sorry to read the latest update about your mom....brings back such sad memories. Life does go on here thought. Saying prayers for the coming days for all.
Jaye, take your medicines...otherwise I am going to start calling you Sue (my sister..not our Sue). She is finally getting things under control but only after she admitted that she is taking the meds for her IBS (had for years but refused the meds), muscle relaxers and the mild pain pills prescribed by the Neuro doc. Surprise!! She is feeling much better. So in short...they won't help if you don't take!!
You are not the only one bothered with depression at this time of year....this household is also. I think it is the lack of bright sunshine. Of course, that is my HO only. Not such good weather predicted for our week either.....only in the 40s on Friday.
Need to finish my cleaning of the dry wall dust in the dungeon as Charles has finally declared the walls are to his satisfaction. Painting mostly this coming weekend......maybe. Depends on whether or not he gets the "crud" from Catie-Beth. Yeap, she has it so all of us have been exposed.
Sweet Interruptions # 277
I so agree Marion about the winter blues. It's a very real condition called SAD..Seasonal Affective Disorder. I'm pretty sure I get it as I really am a crab these dull, cold, stuck-in-the-house days. Sitting under special lights helps.. I know I have Ott lights for sewing and it seems to help when I use them. I also have one for reading.
I need MORE lights then!!!!!!
Today started out bright and what looked like a nice day in general....not so now. Dull, dark and dreary. Oh Spring how far away can you be? Karen, I have the Ott lights also and when I am using them they actually do seem to help but I need one large enough for my whole body! Might be asking a bit much..LOL. Add to feeling down situation, the construction next door is beginning to make me bonkers!! I don't mind the work or noise but never being able to get into or out of my driveway is a pain royal. Kim even has to ask them to move so she can leave for work at 6:45 each morning. Arrrgh. I guess that is only problems because of living on a cul de sac.
Catie-Beth is still sick so I am hoping this "yucky" feeling isn't the results of to much hugs and kisses last weekend. Oh well, it will be worth it!

My Ott reading light is a floor lamp that pretty well bathes me. I got it from JoAnns when it was less than 1/2 price and they had free shipping.
I think we might have the same lamp Karen.....well one of the same lamps. One of my Ott lights is extremely old. Ross got one for me when they first came out many years ago......can't believe how much cheaper they are now. It still works but is so heavy I don't move it very much.....might when the final touches are put on the sewing room. Kim and I have one each that we use plus I keep one at my sister's house so I can work when I am there. Go nuts if I don't do something while watching TV.
MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDSON ARE COMING HOME IN THE SPRING!!!!
Kaden hates it where they are, and so does she. they are both miserable
I have 3 Otts, 2 in the sewing room one by each machine, and the floor lamp, Can't imagine how I ever managed without them.
Congratulations Kathy.
Everyone should have atleast 1 Ott light..agree.
I have one too, and I love it!
Kathy, bet your excited to see them!
Susan, how are YOU coping? I'm sure you're never too far from the phone, and forever checking your emails. Tight hugs for you.
Will say prayers for Bertie, Cookie. I'll pray that she'd recover before spring gets here.
Send her my love will you?
Yoga is good for your spirits besides slimming you up Sue. It also teaches one to be graceful. My old Indian yoga teacher kinda glides when she walks.. but not me nor Zi. Our footsteps are always heavy! As though we're wearing army boots!
Sis Kathy, we are very happy for you!! Finally, Kaden and mama can keep an eye on you and delete a worry off your list!! God is good. Months of praying, and you didn't give up.
Thank you everyone! Today is a good day! Yes Barb, I need lots of light!
You all are right about that.
The sun managed to dispel the gloomy clouds and my moods are much better with strong sunshine beaming through the kitchen windows.
But, I will heed everyone's advice not to abandon Xanax. I may have to increase the dosage too.
No Ottlight here Karen, Marion and LK. Somehow I miss their sales. Let me know please, if you're aware of one.
Had to bring 3 Tom cats to be neutered today, and I thank God the vet we are using now charged only $25 per cat. $45 for female. We have saved $600 so far! He is much cheaper than the humane society.

glad youre feeling better jaye
Hello Ladies,
Haven't been here much, been busy with a lot of other things.
Most of you remember me talking about my friend Sheri. Well on Jan 8th, while she was at her apt. in Fair Oaks she received a phone call saying that her house in Oroville had been robbed. The thieves got away with about $400,000 - $500,000. She had lots of antiques and jewelry that were her mother's. I went up on Friday and started cleaning up some of the mess they had made. They have several leads and are watching this one guy who suddenly has a lot of money. Yup, they think he has sold all the jewelry, but has the furniture in storage. They have two detectives working her case right now.
I have put myself on a very strict diet, a friend of mine is on it and has lost 133 pounds in 11 months. I need to do this because my back and feet hurt so bad!!! Plus I am borderline diabetic ugh :( Today is my first day and so far all I have done is PEE!!!! LOL I want to take my dogs walking but jeez, I would end up peeing my pants before I got one block away from the house, lol. You can see my friend if you go to www.liquidaminodiet.com, her name Diedre Bonar, I have several other friends who are also friends with Diedre that have join it, but do not know how they are doing.
We have no water :( and no rain in sight for weeks.....below is a link that shows two of our lakes. The one in Oroville is what I see when I go to Sheri's house, her house is on the far left of the second picture

Thanks sis Kathy.
Cindy, so sorry to learn that Sheri's home been robbed. Half a million! Wow!! I do hope she has insurance for the loss. I'm sure she's going around the pawn shops looking for her mother's jewelry. That will break my heart if that happened to me.
Can't open the link Cindy. How much does it cost?
Hope some relief come soon for you all!

Jaye, glad to hear you have some sunshine, and your feeling better.
Thanks verymuchly LK!! It's raining now and there goes the sun for the next few days! BUT I have y'all and Xanax!
Wow so sorry for your friends loss. How terrible why do peeps have to do things like this? Awful. Keep your chin up Jaye. Hugs to you both. Wow those lakes are way down. I am so sorry for you all in California. Bad bad drought.
People rob because they "can" (know how to), and because they feel that they're more deserving of the items they steal than those they steal from.....
Jaye - I'm doing ok. No other way TO be, is there?
I think, with all that's on our collective plate, Bob & I, that I'm numb to any sadness or whatever......
With my mom's condition, I can only know how I feel, but am not a nurse. Unfortunately there awer so many medical "opinions" that my family is hoping back and forth with no steady info.
Now they're saying mom's rallying again.... I think it's a toss-up as to whether she passes in the hospital or a care home.
With no $$ coming in for Bob & I (no assistance and no unemployment ins.), we're blessed with people who are helping us LOTS with food, etc. And of course the flight to see Mom..... what a blessing That was.....
Unfortunately, no $$ means nothing to pay bills with, nor rent. I called the City last Wed, re: our trailer park lot rent, and they said the manager would call me back but he hasn't.
Currently, we have $140 in the bank and that's it......... can't pay bills with what you don't have.
Bob & I are really trying to get jobs....... a friend of mine (who has done a lot of interviewing and read a lot of resumes) worked with me on the phone, re: both of our resumes. She'll help us with interview techniques too. Of course, that doesn't get us jobs to apply for, but we've been doing that as well.......
It's difficult to get the "oooompf" up to do any job searches, or even feel like we're (I) am qualified for anything anyone, once you've been off work for as long as we have.........
Ah well, we'll plug along..... The Good Lord will help, I'm sure........
Strange weather, feels like summer. It is so sad that rain doesn't come our way as everything is so dry. There was a big fire about 30 miles from us, set by careless campers, and everything here was covered with ashes. People are praying for rain now.
Trying to get myself energized so I can get some work done around here. At least I got caught up on my laundry. I have to eliminate some of this clutter.
Got a letter from the Ca. francise tax board that they can't find my tax return for 2012. Don't know where hey come up with I have sufficient funds to pay taxes. All we get is social security and always budgeting money trying to find a few extra dollars. It seems everyone has their hand out.
Just read that after April 8th of this year Windows XP won't get any more support. I guess I'm going to be in big trouble. My computer is almost 10 years old and they tell me that is usually the end of life for it.
Only had time to skim read today. Waving at ya'll. ~~~~~~~~~~
Sure hope California gets some rain soon! Do you have a receipt for your taxes? Cancelled check?
Morning everyone!
Good Morning,
Yes LK, I hope we get some too, I have a feeling it's going to start in March and rain thru most of Spring, that has happened before. My poor flowers are so confused, I have Glads that are two feet tall, lilies are about 3 inches above ground.
I have lost 3 lbs already, but I think most of it was water. But my coach says that's normal and will keep dropping like that for about the first week then things slow down ^_^
morning, gidget just ate me couch. can y'all say mad?
UH OH! Big trouble ahead.
On the other hand... there is a web site called "My Dog Ate What?".
Yikes Kathy. I thought that was thunder that I was hearing to the north but it must have been you instead. I would be sick also..........
So sorry Kathy! You need to put a muzzle on him.
