Sweet Interruptions # 277

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree, looks very comfy! Looks like she found mamma's shoe? She sure is growing!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Susan, I so understand what you are going through now with your mom. Just enjoy every minute you have. It was indeed good you were able to stay with her......we were not given that option where our mom was.

Jaye, I hurt for you!! Mouth pain is the worst as far as I am concerned.

Sue, to bad you don't live closer.....I would gladly work with you and your sewing machine. Always available if you or others have questions. I bet Barb, Karen, and LK are also.

Love the couch Kathy.

Well need to finish up some things Kim and I started on Saturday. Will check back later.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

goodness imagine if we all lived in the same neighborhood !!! oh what fun and ruckus , mischief we would get into :)
Susan sending you prayers for you and mum.
such a cute pup you got. They grow so fast.
well savannah is home with a cold.
Dentist went well, no cavities for anyone. Savannah had a very very loose tooth pulled. LOL the dentist did a sneak attack on her and yanked it.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Zippers are good!

Sue, sorry about Savannah having a cold...seems it is that time of year yet again.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Plugged up toilet problems again. Went to Lowe's and got some things and if this doesn't work I may have to use dynamite. Only one bathroom too!! My sister from Mn. should have arrived in San Diego by now. My sister who lives in Fallbrook ( kind of close to San Diego) they will be staying there. I'm hoping DH is feeling good enough to take a ride up there to visit. It is a very long drive and he has been using his oxygen a lot lately. I know she will be glad to get out of the snow for a couple weeks. It is a beautiful day here, 78 degrees, just like summer. I didn't even go in the nursery at Lowe's, I guess not ready for spring yet. Love your new couch, Kathy.

my friend of 40 yrs is posting pics of CA ocean views with sun and blue skies. Man i wish i was back in Ca again. I miss it so much. If i could afford to go back i would .
Pegi hope you guys can out and get to see your family.
watching Full Throttle Saloon.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Me too, Sue. But they are in a terrible drought out there. At least we have plenty of water here.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.

Coffee is ready.

Jaye is having problems logging into DG. She will be back as soon as she can get it figured out. In the mean time she is on Facebook.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

im having problems with this site to

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

What a beautiful couch! Gadget is so pretty. Her ears are standing up great, too! Why did I think her name was Gidget?

The sun is shining here today, but I'm sad. Have to take our kitty, Neeky to the vet at 2:30. Her leg is swollen to twice its normal size. Bill thinks it might be broken. We don't know how it happened. Hopefully, it can be splinted and doesn't need surgery. If she needs surgery, we'll have to have her put down, cause we can't afford it. So pray for us!

On to the good news! I'm about to get my 14th grandchild! DDIL is having a C section right now in Texas. Baby Anna decided to turn at the last minute and the cord is around her neck. She isn't in any danger, but they want to get her out quick before she tries to turn again and tightens the cord. So surgery was to start at 7:30 Texas time. I think we should hear soon! DS was to be allowed in to watch. He is so excited. These are the kids that have 3 boys and are finally getting a girl after she already had her tubes tied! Pray for them, too!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

How exciting to hear about the new granddaughter Joyce. Oh the joy of a small one again. They just grow up to fast. Let us know when she arrives, please.

Sun shining here also but the temps are on the cooler side. Atleast we aren't getting the heavy downpours with thunder and lightening we had last night.

Thanks for the coffee LK..needed it this morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for a safe delivery, and congrats on the new Granddaughter. I am surprised your not flying down to go see them?
Marion, hope your rain lets up soon!
Temps here was 32 this morning, but getting warmer, supposed to be 70 today!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Lucky enough to be there to see all grands and most greats right away, even got to help deliver one grand, cut his cord and name him.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

LK, the rains have stopped but everything is still damp....good for the the springs plants that are setting buds now. Won't complain just don't like the thunder and lightening we had...scary! I think we are headed to the mid 60s not sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I was allowed to watch the delivery of my Grand kids too! Such a miracle to watch them come into this world!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

joyce, her name is gidget

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Baby Anna Grace Alease Thomas arrived this morning safe and sound she came into the world at 7pounds, 11 oz. and 20 1/2 in. long. She has no hair, no eyebrows and no eyelashes. She's adorable as any respectable Nana would say.

LK, Christian's mom and dad are there and so is Kevin's mom. No need for me to be there. Bill doesn't feel up for any long travel, and we certainly can't afford it anyway!

Won't be long now we'll be leaving for the vets office. Oh please keep your fingers crossed and your prayers coming so we don't have to put her down.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Santa Ana winds are really bad in some places. They can do a lot of damage. No good for sinus problems either. In the low 80's yesterday and looks like another very warm day today. We sure are in a drought, think it is worse than usual.

Looked at the magnalite cookware, wow so expensive. I'll just stick with my odds and ends. Got an electric griddle on our gift exchange Christmas, but haven't used it yet. Once in a while DH wants french toast and I thought this would be the perfect appliance. Just means I have to find room to store it and I'm out of storage places. Time to clean out some places I guess. Can't keep everything that comes my way.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy has the Valentine swap open.

Good luck Cookie!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Aw congrats on the new grandbaby. So wonderful. I am going to be a gma later this year. Can not wait. Hey Linda we went thru Walker to as we were going to the golden corral. No far from my house at all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I think I was at that place last time I was there. My Dad loves that place! My Sis will take him out of the nursing home for a few hours on the week ends occasionally for lunch. He likes Russ's too!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Good news at the vets. She thinks it might be a fracture, but not a bad one. She gave us a weeks worth of anti-inflammatory meds. If she gets worse we have to take her back, but she thinks she'll be fine. Thanks for your prayers.

Bill posted the pic of the new little grandbaby. Hooray ! for Cookie's 14th grandchild. wow. Her tubes were tied ? !! oh god that makes me very nervous :o
Hope all goes well with the kitty . sending love and hugs to the kitty . you too Cookie. Tough call to make when our pets are in pain.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

congratulations, Grandma Cookie!! 14? wow........

Yes, I had a great last day visit with Mom - she was so sweet as I left..... said to say "thank you" to Bob for letting me come - told her "there was no LET" lol
it was such a sweet "leave taking" Mom was great (quiet day), and waved her hand goodbye as I left the room. I gave her several kisses on the forehead and cheek before I left.
I got home this afternoon
Today...... not so happy news - she's still with us, but she, who has been bedridden and unable to get out of bed without help for over a week, got out when no one was looking.... she must have slid out, then walked the few steps and turned around to the visitors chair, and sat down. Then she slumped over. Her roommate must have been sleeping but when she woke, she saw Mom and used the call button. The aide got Mom back into bed, the gave her a lecture.
Mom is NOT to leave bed. She's far too weak. She'd only had 1/2 cup of tomato soup, and a few sips of tea that day..... far too weak, but yet she got herself out of bed.
If will alone could do it, she'd survive anything.........
I know she's determined, but that isn't enuff for an 80lb woman in her condition.....

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Congrats, joycet. What a blessing.

Oh, Susan, I empathize ... saying a prayer for you and your mom.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I wouldn't give up my magnilites for anything. use them all the time. they make a great jambalya

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So glad you were gifted the opportunity to spend time with your Mom and family. Glad she had a room mate that called the nurses.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

good morning, or shall I say, cold rainy morning

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Seems those who have Magnalite love it. I wouldn't have any other. If you have a dishwasher, the detergent does discolor it a bit though. I don't now so not a problem. Well I do but right now he's out clearing the snow we got through the night.

Glad to be back home, it's gonna be a mess blending another household into ours but we will somehow. Last hour and a half of trip was very stressful. Heavy snow and bad roads. Now to get the truck unloaded.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Make sure you tell them the house rules Karen!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Most important part of sharing!!!! And necessary from day one. I'm glad to hear you can get back to some sewing. That will make you happy I'm sure.....
At least there will be young people to do the shoveling etc. so you won't need to do it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

DGS has spent enough time here, he knows them. I told them before hand, I will give them a home but I cannot support them they MUST work. Both are looking already so off to a good start. I'm soft but I will speak up and they know it. She jumped up and did breakfast dishes and got baby changed and dressed. He's out helping to clear snow. They then will get truck emptied so it can be returned.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Miss me? I'm back! Yep, sometimes DG locks me out.

Sis Kathy, that's a beautiful couch. Love it. Alabama throws, they'd be the perfect catch for future pukes!!
Good Gidget :D

Congrats Cookie! Wow.. that many grandkids! So when will you be in Texas? I hope you can find a cheap airfare to hold that 14th grandchild.
I am sure happy that kitty has a fracture. We have a rescue that had his front right leg like that, and it took him months for him to be able to run without 'gimping'! And when he could run, he's the fastest of the cats.
Kel called him "Forrest" after "Run, Forrest Gump, Run"!

Ronna, do you do any crafting? Tell us please.

Sue, when will that sewing class starts? Hope the teacher is good at explaining stuffs.
Bring along the manual if you have one. That will be a great help. Hope Savannah is over her cold.
Thought of you last night when I had a glass of muscadine wine. So goooood for something so sweet!

Pegi, I'm laughing at your worries in finding a space for that electric griddle! If none can be found, maybe you could hang it!! Yah, it could be avante garde art, with cord dangling! Lol!!
Sorry Pegi. When Kel asked me whether I have space for a certain purchase, knowing space here is limitied, I'd reply .. "Yes, on top of your head"! Instead of helping me clear up some space, he'd leave me to do the rearranging!! Men!!

Karen, I'm happy that it's off to a good start for your blended family. You and your DH may lose some privacy, but our Lord will bless you abundantly for sacrificing so much.
Like Barb said, now you have young help with the shovelling!
We'll add them to our prayers, that they find jobs soon.

Susan, there's nothing you can do with your mum right now. That;s sad when the body contradicts with the mind. So sorry sistah. Glad you made it home safe, but I know your heart will remain heavy till you see her again.
(((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))

Hey Barb. I'm happily hooking again. Still can't face the sewing machine, and I hope before the end of the month, I'd pick up the cover and be inspired to do a small project and finish it!.

LK, thank you for keeping me company on FB. You too sis Kathy!
I like that sugar free gummy bear jokes you sent. I think I'll get a bag for the NC governor so he can s*(t on himself!!

Carole, I'm aware of the dangers of aluminum. Thanks sistah. I had got a set of TFals years ago, thinking I'll heed the warning. But, after a while, I gave away the TFals, kept an Analon abodized frying pan and Cuisinart stock pot, and return to cooking main dishes in the Magnalites.
As sis Kathy said, gumbos and jambalayas taste better in a Magnalite!
Us too used to sell on eBays, and know the importance of feedbacks. But I'm the kind that like to see and feel what I'll be using.
Since dental procedures will cost me $$$, I think I'll just find something at Big Lots. A 10 inch frying pan and a 5 quart pan.. they're what I need for now.

We have yucky rainy weather Marion! I know you'd rather take the rains then teen temps.
By the way your team has proven itself, and yours luckily will still be good even with the defensive coach's departure.
Breaks my heart to tell you that, again, many LSU stars are leaving for the NFL.
I thought this year will be a good year.. no.. more heartaches. It's not degrees they're after, but $$$.
I don't blame them though. Good paying jobs are hard to find, guess, strike while the iron is hot.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good to see you online again Jaye.

Sunny and warmer today but it is suppose to change starting tomorrow....Saturday they are saying our high will be 48. Oh well, I will bundle up if I need to be out and about.

Had errands to do this morning, now I have dinner on the stove. Wednesdays are "Grandma Takeout" day. The girls are at school really late with chorus and play practice so I prepare a little extra to share with them. Tonight they are having roasted pork, sweet potatoes (Abbigail's request) and field peas (Catie-Beth's request). LOL I only worry about pleasing the girls, can't you tell. Oh yes there is cornbread to go with it tonight.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

You are raising perfect Southern belles Marion. Sweet potato and field peas.. best side dishes besides mac and cheese!

Plainwell, MI(Zone 5b)

Marian send me a care package of food. I am a cook and am tired of cooking by the time I get home! Some homemade goods would be so good.
Sounds like you are going to have a full house Karen. But hopefully it will all be good.
Jaye no I really do not do any crafts. Just gardening. I am starting to do some fairy houses for this summer. They are pretty fun to do. But I do not sew. Really not quit as active as most of you ladies are. Kinda lead a quiet life and like it. The kiddos are all grown so I do not have to do any more running around everyday.
