Hello hello hello!
No sweet dreams last night! Could be those eye candies weren't in my bed.. at least one!
I had a terrifying dream that set me upright and can't go to bed after that. It was so horrible that I am now inclined to believe that someone sent the devil to me! So, I stayed up, clean the house, early prep work for Kel's supper and yes, I cleaned the bathroom!! Long overdue..
Karen, Sis Kathy, you know it's rough when you're the eldest daughter and had to be thrown early to fix family meals. I am glad that at least I don't have to do laundry as there were no washing machines, not even the manual wringer kind. Grandad hired a washer woman for that chore.
Aww Sue, hope you heal fast sistah. Maybe Tim might change his mind, and complete that basement for you.
So sorry LK. But Marion has a point, if you want to see him, don a mask. To minimise FIL's exposure to infections, Kel had to put on a mask.
Perhaps you can "skype"? But please, take care of yourself, and in my opinion, the weather difference won't help in getting rid of your cruds.
What's for today? Anything my sistahs wish to post.
Sweet Interruptions # 277
Cleaning house since it is long over due. Worked mostly with Kim redoing her room over the holidays so some thing got neglected. Also wiping flour from unheard places in the kitchen. Wonder how it got there? :-)
I am with Marion, more eye candy???
Sorry about your bad dream Jaye. I have had some like that too, and they make me sit straight up in bed. Hope you take a nap today.
Thanks everyone. I was just looking forward to seeing Dad for a few days. But I know it will not be good for anyone if I am sick! It is only 11 in Michigan today. I am hoping these meds kick in quickly so I can go.
my furnace went out last nite, my furnace guy said a new motor is 325. oh well, either have to pay it or freeze. it's nothing but a thang
hope you feel better soon linda
I can feel your pain Kathy. My unit for the downstairs is working on borrowed time. The tech who did the winter check up said he thought we could make it though but come summer it will need to go.....goodbye another $9000........yes you read that right. But again the unit is 23 yo so what can I say? Hope you get the heat back on really fast.
we planned on buying a new unit in the spring. one where the aia are in the same thing. my air mand heat man said he would do it for 5500. that's the unit and labor. my new sofa gets delivered tomorrow, wish I hadn't bought it no. oh well, I didn't know
It is nice to have a house but the house OWNS us :( Maintenance is so exhorbitant!!
Things never break with good timing. Out tenant called us that our furnace was out. He called our repairman but then went to look at furnace. Saw we had a spare igniter sitting there, installed it and furnace is working fine now. Will get another spare igniter when we get home. Repairman had told us before that it is the most common thing to quit, we had the spare on his advice. Glad we averted a repair call this time. Nice to have such a good tenant.
You are very lucky Karen!
Glad to hear it was an easy fix, and they did it themselves!
Get well fast, Linda. So many are getting that crud, just hoping to keep away from my door.
I have those kind of dreams, but instead of doing some much needed work around here I play on computer or read. Had one the other night and Darwin woke me up because I was screaming. Have no idea what the dream was but glad he woke me up. I was able to go right back to sleep which is a miracle in itself. Whoever or whatever was trying to get me might have succeeded if he hadn't woken me up. LOL
Going to get some long over due laundry done. I want to go outside and play, but no little elfs or faries around to help me out.
Can we get all this bad stuff over with this month and have sick free days the rest of the year??
Yes, it is nice to have your own home, but never thought the up keep would be so hard. But the rents here are so high don't know how any one can afford it. I keep getting phone calls about remodeling. I wish they would all throw my phone number away.

Just saw this on Facebook. Sure hope there has been no damage!
Thank God, no Tsunami warnings. Thanks LK.
Good thing no lives lost and only a slight movement to two buildings in Cuba? I think that's the only effect reported.
Pegi, not only do we get calls but once in a while we'd get knocks on the door offering to reroof or re "vinyl siding" the house. I know most of these guys are gypsies.
Rental costs are high here too!
My sister told me that even in Singapore, there are families living in autos as housing costs are ridiculous, and sadly there are no shelters there.
I'm checking in! Today was my 3 hour house cleaning job. Tomorrow is one of the 4 hour ones.
I gave plasma today and the silly tech wiggled the needle in my arm and blood spurted everywhere. Geese... That wasn't any fun!
Sissy I'm so jealous you're getting a new couch! I need a new couch and lover seat so bad! But, I need new carpeting MORE!!
Now Jaye, I didn't say I don't like Tom....I do!!! I like all those hunks up there. And yes, of course, Bill knows all about the guys that make me swoon. ;o)
Hey all. Well the sink drain is almost fixed still kinda dripping. My hubby is not good at home repairs. Believe me. Triesso hard. My car still is not running im thinking its just the battery. Have to find a new one. Want my car back. Poor baby is all covered with snow. No snow today to speak of. The temp is even out of the negatives. So relieved. But we are going to get some freezing rain tonight and tomorrow some time.
Yes Joycet it would be so wonderful to get some new furniture.
Our furnace is so old. I just hope and pray all will be good for the winter.
Feel better Linda! Where does your dad live? I prolly missed it sometimes I read to fast. Have a good evening all. Ronna
My Dad is in a nursing home in Grand Rapids where my sister lives.
looks like we will be buying a new washing machine this weekend. The fittings where the hoses attach cracked and we had water spraying out all over the place.
Oh Linda I am only 45 mins to Grand Rapids. Well to the line of there. Where does you sister live? Wow you are leaving the warmer air of Texas to come here. You are a silly lady. Lol.
Lol. Heart strings makes you do cold and snowy things, huh L K?
Can't believe the temps are up to 36 already this morning. I'll take it!
I'd lost this thread???
I will be going up to see my mom, later, but my sister just phoned from the hospital, says my mom is sitting up and happy that we're coming to see her. She is on full meals - had porridge for breakfast & soup and toast for lunch. She's still on palliative care, but she's comfortable & happy.
And that's the point of Palliative Care, right?
I want some new furniture too Cookie, but having too many cats in the house would be a waste of money. Sis Kathy's reasoning for getting a new sofa, to replace the one she bought a year ago, is valid. Loss of money for sure, but she regains her sanity!!
Hmm Sis Kathy, maybe you should drape plastic over it!
Hi ladies, I'm not a happy camper today. Not getting enough sleep is one reason. The other is all that running around with Kel and playing vet to another rescue.
Took 2 weeks to 'revive' a very sick "Goldie". Had to diligently keep feeding it Nutrical, Pedialyte mixed with rice broth. And 'steaming' her in the dishwasher!
Set the settings to steam in the dishwasher, wrapped her up like a papoose and kept her there for at least 8 minutes. That helps in loosening up her congested lungs.
Then made sure I applied nasal spray, so she could breathe better.
No, vet didn't suggest that, but I thought if breathing in steam works for humans, it will work for cats right?
She's eating on her own now, gained a couple of ounces and her body temp is normal.
without the use of a heating pad.
Got me some potassium rich bananas and sugar free Powerade to boost me up!! Don't want to fall ill from exhaustion.
Sue .. LK.. hope you both feel better.
It would be nice if you or Ronna can see each other! 1 hr. away isn't too bad.
Susan that is GREAT news! You know we want to read all the latest on your mama! Hope your brother's finally in reality mode.
i don't like the smell of doggy puke, hence the new couch
LOL! I think every child attempts to cut their own hair!
Doing better Jaye, still have some congestion, but doing better.
Sure hope your rescue is doing better soon! We always worry about our furry kids! Bless you and Kel for taking them in.
my brother came to see mom tonight and was on his best behavior.
Had a good visit with my mom today - she really was perky.
Had 3 full meals today too (well, she didn't eat everything, but quite a bit of her supper......)
I really am glad that I got to see my mom by myself for a change.... nice to take care of her, and chat with her about "old times".
Glad to hear your visit is going well!
Morning everyone!
Sounds good Susan....
Good morning sistahs.
Good that you had a beautiful day with your mum, Susan. Must have lifted your spirits tremendously.
Sinus acting up today. Could it be due to the fickle temps? Hitting 74 this morning and tomorrow will be 50. I'll take it, and thank God for the inconvenience done to my sinus. My poor 'snowed' sistahs must be hating me!
Not much going on today. College football is over, and I can't get into any other sports. That should be a good thing right? IF not gardening and taking care of the kids will just have to wait.
Notice I said 'taking care of the kids'?
Lol.. I wish the house can take care of itself.
Do have a wonderful Saturday. I think I might just ask Kel to get some Wendy's $1 Chipotle burgers.
Staying indoors today as the weather is nasty. Thunder and frequent bands of heavy rain....I know, it could be worse.
You know it is nasty when I won't get dressed to go see the Championship trophy on display at the Walmart near us. No way I will stand in line in this down pour.
Have a good day everyone.
almost 70 here today, got the doors open airing out the house. just went and bought a new coffee table. will take pics soon of the new couch
Jealous! That's me!
Susan, glad she's doing so well and you're having a good visit.
51 here. We turned our heat off last night and just had the wood stove going. I'll take it!
Nice and warm here today, 72 right now.
We spent 3 hours looking for new washing machine today. Found one at home depot. Just need to have Todd hook it up, and we can get laundry done! Can't believe how expensive some of them are! Some are over $1000.00!!!
Ouch! Hope you found one for less than that!
Cheapest one we could find was an Admiral, for $350.00.
Carole, Carole http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2014/james-franklin-penn-state-new-head-coach/ !!!!
Sue, does Savannah takes dancing lessons? The young girls around here do that, and clogging is a favorite for the Rednecks!
Sis LK, if you were here, Kel would gladly hook you up with a washing machine, though it be a used one. He said, Admiral is reliable, and those high end machines will in the long run cost you more for parts or repairs.
Raining here too Marion and looks like our weather might imitate yours. Aww, a picture of the crystal ball should do Marion!
We are losing lots of players and read this. Saban just signed up Lane Kiffen as the OC. I recall when he wanted Jimbo to come over to Bama when he got the job, but Jimbo's better off at FSU with his own brand of program.
This would be interesting.
Cookie, we had the ac on in the bedroom last night. Kel's too hot blooded and 50 is hot for him! No way we could save on electricity!
We got back in time from Wendy's and "Tuesday Morning". I've been thinking of getting a set of good stainless steel pot ware. The Magnalites are getting too heavy for me, and if my sistahs could suggest a good brand, please let me know.
We have had a set of revere ware for years. They are pricey, but they last a long time.
There's one that I'm looking at on eBay that looks promising LK. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SWISS-INOX-18-Pc-Stainless-Steel-Cookware-Set-Fry-Pots-Pans-Saucepan-Casserole-/141104785146?pt=Cookware&hash=item20da8026fa
Tomorrow or Monday, we'll be looking at what WM has. Farberware and Revere Ware used to make great ones years ago. You're lucky to get them during their heyday.
