I've been informed that my sitting services will not be needed for Uncle Ray. My nieces sometimes boyfriend will watch him. That's OK by me. I was not looking forward to watching him.

We have a storm coming in for us. Right now just lots of wind in gusts. According to the weather report we will have rain today (Monday) and rain with chance of some snow on Tuesday. I have to drive to Lexington on Tuesday to see the ortho surgeon and I hope get a release for more active use of my right arm. It's been 6 weeks since surgery to repair my torn rotator cuff and I'm anxious to get busy gardening and digging holes to plant my flowers and work in the veggie garden.

Marti) your forecast sound like here , weather is not allowing much gardening , only seed starting and hoping ,
I did cut a couple of broken tree limbs today for a neighbor , still recovering from cystoscopy .
I get winded too easily ..

Babysitting us old fudds ain't what it use be is it ? lol or the youngsters anymore for that matter ..
A few flowers under bottles outside , I will hope for their survival ..

Uncle Ray is develomently disabliied. If left alone he gets in trouble by breaking things. He hoards left over food in his room. He's broken the faucet in the kitchen, the bathroom and even damaged the light switch in the bathroom.

boy marti, there is just one thing after another going on there, eh? cannot imagine that 18 yr old and 13 yr old living with that.

I worked pm shift yesterday, got home at nine, have to go back at nine am and am doing a class, so I was just laying in bed, keyed up, thinking about not being prepared for class. SO I got up, and looked over what I am not prepared on, so I would stop obsessing, and then go to sleep....and then messed around for two hours...LOL

we're all shivering and wondering how the flowers will look in the morning, here.

They released my niece, Jackie, from the hospital today. So much for helping her. This is her second suicide attempt in 6 months and they only kept her in the mental ward for 5 days this time. 3 days the last time.

My refrigerator broke down.and my niece, Autumn, and her husband, Ron, who are living with me right now, went out and bought me another one as a birthday present.

I saw the ortho surgeon Tuesday and he says I don't have to wear the sling on my arm all the time. I can leave it off when in the house and at night, but when I'm outside or at large I still have to wear it. Plus I can start using my right arm for active ROM. I'm to keep up with PT for 6 more weeks and I don't have to see him again unless I am still having severe pain or lack of progress with PT. Having use of my right arm feels great and will take the stress off my left arm doing everything.

BajaBlue, that is what this forum is for. It's for those of us that find ourselves up between midnight and 6 am.
Its now 2:49 am and I can't seem to settle down and go to sleep. My niece, Autumn and her husband, Ronny are staying with me while they try to find an apartment that they can afford. They have been a big help to me and although I like being alone in my house, I will miss them when they move out. Ronny fixes me a cupof tea every morning and even breakfast. He is an excellant cook and has taken over the cooking duties and kitchen duties. Autumn has helped me with my personal care after my shoulder surgery until I was able to do for myself. They are paying for a new used refrigerator for me as mine gave up working. I lost all my blackberries and tomato that I had in the freezer to make jam with. Darn!! I need to get me an upright freezer to put on the back porch. The one I was using belonged to my niece Jackie and she took it away from me. The new refrigerator has a freezer on top of the refrigerator. My old one was a side by side.

Marti I was not intending to imply anything about Uncle Ray .. It is really no different people around us helping us . I only rather meant I doubted you were up to that , as you said , as you had not been feeling well enough with your shoulder and other concerns ..
As for some other things there , hospitals can only do what they can do ,, mental or physical ..
As us , we can only take care of difficulties as we can .. sometimes it does take a while , as I am sure you already know .

Most of the time seems to be used up recovering or wondering how to feel better ,, or sleep better ,, trying to comfy sometime is darn near impossible ...
nicer weather for a few days though is sure a mood improver ...

Almost 5 am and I'm still up. Just can not get to sleep. I sit here and play on the computer and I start getting sleeping and having trouble keeping my eyes open, but as soon as I lay down, I'm wide awake.Wish I had room for a nice lounge chair.
The only problem with watching Uncle Ray is I would have to do it at my nieces house and I don't want to be there and she does not want me in her house, but I don't know why.

Hi all. It's 4:30 here. I need 12 hurs sleep to feel close to functional, but can I get it? Yolks, I don't understand, my body needs the sleep but doesn't sleep?
Now with my DSO unemployed and staying up late, sigh....
Anybody else have to check to see whether it's X:00 AM or PM when you wake up?
Kids coming over for Easter tomorrow, we need to be up before 4 PM.

Good morning everyone! It is 1 am and I'm up. I have PT in the morning so I need to get some sleep but for now I can't get to sleep. I just toss and turn so I'm watching Miami CSI and playing on the computer.

4 AM and I've been awake since 1 am. I keep trying to get some sleep, but no such luck.
the weather channel said that it will rain but none yet. I hope it does rain, my plants need the water.

Hi Marti, I'm up too. In fact I >just< put some soil in the oven to sterilize. Sometimes if I think about what I have to do I'll fall asleep. But if I think about the things I want to do but need sleep for, then I'm wide awake. Sometimes I try to trick myself and think about my alarm going off and I need to get it up. Sometimes it even works to put me to sleep!

I just up-potted three of my tomato seedlings as test subjects. Unfortunately I think I've found out what people mean when they talk about seeding in sponges. I couldn't separate anything within a plug, gently or not. Sigh.

It doesn't stay warm for long enough for a fall crop, so I guess this may be it for 2014 tomatoes for me. I'm not complaining, I have plenty. I just wanted to give a bunch away. Garden and learn! I don't even know where I came by those sponges. But I do understand now why people referred to either peat pellets/discs or peat pots. I kept looking for something about peat plugs.

I hope you get some sleep. It looks as though others may actually BE sleeping!!&&€#%???

Kid was sick; didn't have to get out of pjs til I went to dollar store for cheap deep cups.

Oyoyoyoyoy. I wrote that thinking it was still Easter - kids were supposed to come over but one was sick, so no baskets. Thus the pjs comment. But I lost a day! Sigh.

My sighing increases after midnight.

I'm up and awake again. Sitting here eating an ice cream sandwich. I'm hook on them and can't stop eating them. I bought a box of 12 last night about 8 pm and have already eaten 4 of them.

marti, i like ice cream sandwiches too, but i just dont buy them. i could eat 4 no problem.

I know its not time to post on here, but as my subscription is up as of midnite tonight and I don't have the money to renew, I just wanted to say good bye to all my friends on Daves Garden. I will miss you all.

Well, here I sit, 4 am and eating a peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich.
We spent the last 2 days burning tree limbs. My yard is starting to look better. Now I just need to get the lawnmower running and I can get my yard under control. We are still trying to figure out how to afford a tiller so that I can turn the back yard into a veggie garden. The area I need to til is 75 X 60. I have a 1lb bag of peaches and cream corn seeds, Blue Lake bush beans 1/2 lb, 1/2 of white runner beans, plus spinach, watermelon, zucchini and crock neck squash seeds. My friends are also putting in a veggie garden and I told them I would share seeds with them. I don't have room to grow a lb of corn seeds here. So I will have some seeds to share with friends.
My arm is healing and I now don't have to wear the sling all the time. I'm surpose to wear it only when I'm out running around, but most of the time I forget to put it on.
It just started to rain. I heard some thunder also. My yard needs the rain. With no water in the trailer I can't water the yard either. Hopefully the guy will be over next weeks to fix the broken pipers under the trailer and we can turn the water back on.

marti, maybe you and your friends could share the cost of renting a tiller. or look on craigslist.

I forgot to mention!! I got all the seeds and 12 tomato plants for FREE! We have a place here, The Community Action Agency and they help people out with electric bills and they had a gardening section. I qualified for it and got a $35. voucher for the garden. Another friend also got a voucher, but she lives in an apartment and can't plant a garden there so we are putting it all in here. She will come over and help with weeding and caring for the garden and take home fresh veggies for herself and a couple of friends at the apartment complex.

That's very cool marti. I wonder, with all those seeds, if you'd still have enough to look for a trade with someone to till your space. Could work out great for both sides!

Good morning! 4 AM and I've been up for over an hour. Just had a peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich.

Our rain storm was wild. It started Friday early morning and by 7 am it was thundering and lightening and down pouring.By 10 am it was gone and was sunny with some clouds and wind the rest of the day. My plants all got a good drink as did the yard. Now the weeds will grow like gangbusters. Must get the mower fixed. Will talk to the neighbor I bought it from and see if he will work on it for me. I had it covered up with a small tarp during the winter but the tarp came off so its been snowed on and rained on. So it needs overhauling to get it started.

001 plant lots of roma type tomato plants in your garden they make such good sause and are great for canning.

4 am seems to be my wake up time. I spent some time yesterday digging and planting tomato plants. Got to get the rest in today. I am also sorting thru my potted plants to see who survived the winter. I've decided to get the survivers out of pots and into the ground. I've lost some of my roses that were in pots. I've got to make a list and see about replacing the ones I lost. Most were OGR and are hard to find.

I don't know what day it is, let alone what time. I finished cleaning after up-potting. Having run out of seedling mix/ingredients I had to stop. It was dark. I climbed onto the bed, then after awhile got back up not having slept. I went right back to the dining table to start potting again. But, oops, oh yeah, I had no more soil. The store isn't open yet.

Now, I don't have a ride there. I can go in my scooter, and I can carry bags of "dirt" home on it. But can I get it in the house (no ramp yet)? And am I that keen? It's not exactly warm out there, nor exactly dry. Is this a sign I should get some sleep? I slept 15 hours solid the night before. Poor ol' confused body. Sometimes I think I must be from another solar system.

I have 53 tomato seedlings, the same as I have Earth years. We're all still going pretty strong.

Midnight and I'm still up. Can't get to sleep. I'm sitting here and feeling sleepy, but the minute I get into bed, I'm wide awake and can't lie still, so I get up again.

Slept for a few hours about 9 o'clock . and will try again before long , Woke up to a rainy stormy night .
Usual aches and pains , the groggies have been with me for days .
I can do , and am doing a few things , only that tired feeling that just won't let go , stays with me .. Flowers blooming makes me feel better . bees buzzing around ,, spring is such a nice feeling ..

I just noticed that my previous post says 11.10 pm, but my clocks at my house said 12.10 am.
I still can't settle down and sleep. I've got thunder, lightening and rain here and usually I can sleep well when it's storming, but forget it tonight. I'm wide awake.

I've been working alittle in the yard. Found out that I can't use the hoe yet to chop out weeds and the weedwacker causes my right shoulder to go into spasms. I can't get the mower started and need to get it to a friend and have him go over it and see if he can get it going. I need to rent a rototiller and turn my veggie garden area over a couple of times after I knock down all the weeds. In the mean time I have been digging up areas near the back door to plant my zucchini, cabbage, and tomato plants. I have to work a little at a time due to my right shoulder is still healing.

Still think you should offer seeds in trade for someone else doing the heavy or expensive stuff marti !

Oops, not 12:00 yet. But,m I've been sleeping 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, so relatively? I have NO idea what time it is. Just gad a meal though, so I won't be going to sleep for at least 3 hours.

My legs are sore from light digging ,, no go , in me much at all , That is from planting about 300 to 500 zinnia sprouts in a new bed .
I decided to watch a movie and have a cup coffee . sleep ain't there , it ain't .
I suppose the Idea is to never give up , I got our mower for lawn working a couple days ago .
Basil and more herbs to start , the Basil and the peppers are already growing ,
Something ate my tomato plant today , so I will do a couple of restarts , yellow ones usually re sow here , Been eating lettuce , onions and some garlic from the garden
Everything a little at time as you said Marty , It is suppose to help with healing that way ..

Crimson Sweet watermelon 2 packs with 20 seeds in each
Spinach 2 packs with 1 tsp of seeds
Blue Lake Bush beans 1/4 lb to share
