Nice here...low 70s but windy. I can deal with a little wind as long as it isn't really hot.

Busy today. Kim leaves for a 3 day conference tomorrow so I agreed to finish a load of laundry for her today. Got off schedule keeping the granddaughters this past weekend. Kim wasn't about to miss out on her time with the nieces. Good thing she was with me as both girls had stuffed themselves with Halloween candy and oh my were they sick. Needless to say I had a long serious talk with their daddy!!! Mom was out of town visiting her sister who just had a new baby girl on Thursday.

Dad's lol just fill them up with sweets, only once a year right? know you enjuoy your time with them

Dad was busy doing something else and just paid no attention to the fact they were eating as much as they were. Grandma, I assure you, gave him an ear full. It was so upsetting to me as they were really sick.....even refused syrup on their waffles on Sunday morning as it was to sweet.

Yes, laundry can be done later. You are right, we did enjoy ourselves even though they were sick......some of the best cuddling!!!

Betty, when do you think you will be going back down in December?

Rita had me going last night, no sooner did I get in she wanted to know what I had off for Christmas, said a cruise 3 nights/4 days leaving Miami would be nice..I started to laugh, before I left a week ago she wanted to head to Nashville on our way to Ft. Myers

Told her to investigate all the possibilities and when I find out office closure I we can talk some more

Spoke with Denis from Campbellford where I bought the grace quilting frame, he called to say there was a sale on the Janome 1600P quilter..drats, right after I've been away..got to see what $$$ I have as it's a good buy and something I want..

You sure didn't slow down much after coming back, just wish the weather was nicer for you.

Marion .. no bisquick, so , made some bran muffins and have banana loaf in the oven, odd recipe. Calls for 2 large ripe bananas SLICED into the dough, ought to be interesting.
Hope the kids feel better after their sugar rushes ..

Oven is going to beep soon, and, have to call a good friend, whos friend passed away .. I knew the lady as well, but, not as well as Jo did .. it was sudden ..

Great news re your FiL Mary .. hope his progress continues.

My BFF is in kind of a daze re her friends passing. She was just 60, had just retired and was care giver to her hubby who has just recently been diagnosed with Parkinsons, a new Gramma as well ..
Once Lorna is off in her new truck, I think Jo and i will go for coffee.

Beautiful sunshiny (COLD) day here .. Off to classes tonight, with the time change it'll be darker going into the city :-( Just hope the deer STAY way back !!

got an update from Ann last night

Alex: now 7 lbs 9 oz..home and doing ok other than vomiting a lot so breathing issues, not on any meds..has an appt. at the cardiologist at end of month but is growing in leaps and bounds
Ann said he's the best baby ever, wants to be cuddled and sleeps all the time..

Addy though is going through a surgery today IF and only IF she's up to it..having her bowel reconnected, 50/50 chance they can
she is now 6 lbs and on oxygen

because Alex is doing so well, they had permission to take him out and went to hospital with Melissa... she asked if he could go into the room with her and they allowed it, was nice Melissa said to have him lay beside his sister..

Melissa did get some good news though

the insurance company notified her that the time off she's had so far will be put as emergency care and that it will be ongoing for a few months longer then she can get her year off employment insurance by then she should know if she'll go back to work or not..great news financially for her

let's hope Addy does well today

Mary, I'm glad your FIL is improving all be it slowly, little steps right..great that he is close to the shop that way you can drop in if only for 5 minutes..perhaps MIL can eat her meal at the cafe, that way you know she has nutrition

"M" sunshine is out here, I'm a little behind the 8th ball re winterizing, might be one of the last
days I would have closing in back porch so have on my list of 'to do's' to pick up a roll of heavy plastic and get it done after work

What wonderful news re ALex, and , my heart and prayers are with sweet Addy as she faces this surgery ..
Absolutely awesome news re the financial backing for Melissa !!!

Just sitting waiting for Lorna to come home with her new truck. I left her there to do some final paperwork, she is SO excited !!!

Jeeze Betty, hope you have outdoor lights so you will be able to see whatcher doin tonight. Dang me, it's getting minimally light (hate saying DARK) at about 5:30pm here !

Oh YAY on Alex and adding my prayers to Addy for surgery today. Glad she is up to 6 pounds. Hope this surgery helps her. Wonderful news about Melissa's insurance. Are they all settled in to their new apt.?

Marilyn, hope Lorna loves her new truck as much as she is expecting to love it! Can't understand the unwillingness to come a little ways to see a needed vehicle! When Bill is looking for a new one he looks on Craigs list from here, to Indiana, Kentucky and north Ohio. A deal is a deal after all!

lights yes, on the back porch, roof and screened in, just doing extra so snow doesn't filter through and I'll put clear plexi on the screen door window..deck is large but won't take a long time to do with compressor/brad nailer and air stapler..just got to start that's all

No, pond still as it was. I did clean both filters and scoop leaves, but I didn't have the waders from Bertie yet, so I didn't want to get in to clean the lily leaves. Geesh, that will be cold WITH the waders, can't imagine doing it without!

Silly me, bought more plants yesterday. I just gave away a PeeGee Hydrangea, an Oakleaf Hydrangea and a Nandina. So what did I do????? Bought a Contorted Filbert (aka Harry Lauder Walking Stick). Anyway, I've wanted one of these for a long time and it was 50% off, so it came home with me. Had to get a couple of hostas and a few other things as well since they were $3.00. Regularly $15 or more. They will probably go down to $1.00, but I didn't think these particular perennials would be there then.

Hi Betty,my son has been keeping me busy.He has a mild conductive hearing loss in his left ear.So i been focusing on him.Hoping he will gain it back all the way.If not they will have to put tubes back in.This would be the 3rd time if he has to have it done again.Right now he is hearing sounds like going through a tunnel in his left ear.

Barb, Lorna is just itching to get out in the truck .. hopefully we can make it a day today, even for just a ride, but, my BFF also wants me to go to coffee with her .. with the death of her friend and the arrival of family to attend the funeral, she's a bit pooped. We'll see how the day plays out.

Class last night was OK .. can't say as I am thrilled about driving in the pitch black home though .. and the deer are springing up everywhere.

Couldn't sleep last night, thinking of all I've to do in the next 6 weeks and mind was boggled..I've a schedule on the ipad calendar so if I keep up to it I'll manage..that being said, guess who was up at 4:30 sewing

got the felt socks cut and sewn for the 7th Annual Christmas Workshop project-Snowman, this morning and put them inside out and they will be ready for the kit...

got an e-mail from Lisa this morning, she asked if the hockey quilts could be queen size..hmm I thought they'd just be a memory quilt for keeping, guess I have to change my design somewhat

My adrenaline is pumped up big time, always happens at this time of year..shoulder and knee not so happy about it ..

Gawd, I love shoppin ladies!! Especially since I really haven't been able to in 2 YEARS .. mind, I am taking my time, but loving every moment, cept when someone bumps into me!
Lorna's truck runs like a dream .. just wish the 'smokey' smell was less obvious, the dealership did a 'fair job'. Am going to look into those Febreez smeller thingamees for vehicles.

Trying hard to either snow, or rain here .. either way the roads will be slippy. Saw so many deer today, lordie, even in by the University/hospital .. you have to be so careful .. their colour right now is blending in with the underbrush.

How'd you make out with the quilt Betty? Can't imagine what you'd do to make it Queen .. do you have enough sweaters ?

DH took out a pork LOIN roast (he bought it) for supper .. I marinated it all day before putting it in the oven .. I find LOIN roasts can be a bit dry .. we'll see .. can tell I'm better cuz I am up to cooking/baking .. it's just WALKING that has me stymied at times LoL

Cody, I'm with "M", he'd be sure to show signs if things were not ok..

"M" Rita cooked pork loin last night, it was spiced and lordy it tasted good..she also made rice..getting used to home cooked meals..

when I did get home I told her I wasn't hungry then I felt bad, am sure she put a lot of effort into cooking so I ended up eating..agreement when she moved in until she finds a place that she would not wait on me, we'd both do our own thing re meals but I think she feels seeing she works from home that she has time to do so

M having applesauce with your pork roast? Mmm I had to go to Foodland to get milk and OJ and a store made pizza just jumped into my cart so that and a salad is for dinner tonight.

Poor little Duke is off to the vet again on Friday, It just seems we take 3 steps forward then 2 steps back. He was supposed to go yesterday but they rescheduled.Its very windy now so he is beside himself, cruising through the house like a shark. At least once it gets dark he finds a spot to hide and lays down. Then I crate him for overnight as he can't be trusted in the house. Diesel is cranky today and I have no idea why.... this is the first time since I got him I have seen him cranky.

Pulled another tick off of me this morning. I guess I am a tick magnet too, not just Duke. This one is a goodie. I just finished a Rx for the last 2 bites but this bite is the worst of all. Swear I am getting them from my fire wood when I bring it into the house.

Hi everyone. Addison was finally taken into surgery at 6:15 yesterday! Everything went well. Be a bit to see if surgery is effectine.

Thank you for your prayers..one step closer to having her home as well

GAwd Dianne .. those TICKS, makes me shiver .. our area has them IF you go into the bush .. but, I think perhaps you're correct in thinking they come from the firewood ..

Very tired tonight, early to bed, saw a friends niece today, Tanya is a nice girl, divorced and has been 'seeing' a younger fella (she's 38) .. well .. I couldn't help but notice she is pregnant, and, as pleased as punch even though she has gestational diabetes (diabetes while pregnant) and, usually very large babies .. she feels it's going to be a big change for her .. I just kinda stood there speechless ... Tanya is like a 'Princess' .. totally self absorbed, but, a nice woman .. just find it hard to believe she's going to be a Mommy ..

New Christmas swap open!

A quick good morning. This is the first morning/day I have been home in over a week.

I have never hurt so bad, head to toe, and took a board to the face. It just slipped in my hands
when rubbing stain. My hands are swollen and just ache!!!

My friend ordered me home today, she is doing opening with her daughter and I will be up there
tomorrow to help.

Miss you all so much.....and so very happy to hear Ann's good news!!!

weatherman does say possible snow on Saturday..it's ok have enough inside that I need not go out

will call TimBrr mart this a.m. and if the wood is cut for me for the workshop I might try to make it to Midland before their 5:30 close so that i don't have to go out at all after i get home tonight..would have to speed a tad to make it though...oh/oh

Rita is away on business then spending weekend with friends in Toronto, will miss those home cooked meals.

At lunch I have a few things I'd like to do
. pick up Braedon's rain jacket from Sojourn Camping
. striped christmas fabric
. pure apple cider/honey..Rita says it will help the arthritis in my knees, can hardly walk

pain/pain go away..getting bad enough that I went looking yesterday for distributors of the stair chair lift so I don't have to do stairs in the basement, ok, bit premature but the way I've been feeling know it's a coming..early spring I'll get it done.

sitting here today with neck brace to take pressure off my neck..hard to hold my head up
