Thanks DEB!!!! They look so cute! I especially Minnie Mouse. What a cutie!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new
Minnie Mouse was so sweet, she was crying ...afraid to come up. Her Mommy just gave her a baby brother....two days ago....so great grandpa took her trick or treating!!
Power out here. Minimum power left on my laptop so the Santa Warren Exchange names will be sent out as soon as hydro is up and running. High winds have taken down several hydro lines. Sorry! Blame Mother Nature.
I see you have the absolute crummiest weather your way Dianne.
Stoke up the woodstove, grab a book and 'chill'
Sun is out here, still haven't gotten out on the road .. phone keeps ringing !
That lil Minnie Mouse is just too precious, and, the pic of the fam is a framer for sure !!!!
We got ZERO kids :-(
Had no treats would have had to have given them loonies or quarters had anyone arrived.
I do think the dogs are sick of waiting, so, I best hike'em into the car and get on our way .. gawd, they're so excited to be going for a 'car ride' LoL
They know we'll stop for a coffee and they'll get a treat !!
Ciao all
~M~
Afternoon everyone
Had a great day
Bought 5 outfits, two are just too adorable..
Went to the fabric shop,,omg could have stayed there all day..hard when you go to places such as these when the other person isn't interested although Darlene is always telling me not to hurry..bought 3 sets of Christmas panels , too adorable..couldn't resist, even though I know I'll not get them done for this year but I will have stock for next year
Sorry to hear of the bad weather last night girls, poor little ones..loved seeing your photo's Debbie, missed being home for it.
Is it next weekend the craft show..does your friend have anything new to sell this year?
I go to the Markham craft show the weekend after, wish you could come, really a top class craft show..3 or 4 buildings..this year I will keep an eye out for our 8th annual workshop project.
Betty don't you find Markham has become more offshoew resellers than actual artisans? That's why we stopped doing it.
D
Some, but still find lots of hand made..think a lot were complaining about same so they are being more cautious as to who they let in the show..maybe I'll make a mental note as to the vendors this year
Just had Chinese, won't be a late night
Going out tomorrow with a bunch tomorrow for eats then will get my garb together as we'll have a 10:30 breakfast then off to the airport Sunday
Wouldn't be so long if you didn't have to sit 2hrs prior to boarding
Still considering the 2 weeks here at xmas
Thanks for the DMail Dianne ^_^
Diesel and Duke are to be commended!
Betty, Xmas in FLorida would be awesome ..
Glad you got your outfits, enjoy your Chinese and, sleep well
Just took my 'poison pills' so, will be out of it in an hour or so ..
Toodles

I got my name too.
I am in San Antonio, spending the night at my sons place. Then up at 5:00 AM and going to Houston fot the international quilt show. I will be back home Sunday.
Ok all the names have been seen sent out via D Mail for the Santa Warren Christmas Exchange. If you have not received a name please Dmail me to let me know. Some of you will receive another Dmail once I get the mailing address of your name. If you have an questions about the person whose name you received D Mail either Betty or I and we will try and give you some hints about their likes and dislikes. Remember to take photos of your parcel please so we can all share in the event. For the person who got my name remember I don't do pics so take photos before you mail off the parcel. I think Dec 1 is a good date to mail your parcel off by. Duke failed miserably at picking the names so Diesel stepped in and gobbled the treats off of each piece of paper with a name on it. Duke is still petrified of the rain and now I know the wind too. It has been a hard day for Duke and thus the rest of the household.
Battling tick bites here. I went to the doc today for an Rx for antibiotic as the 1 tick I found left the bite infected. Just as I had a shower a few minutes ago I found an even more engorged tick on the back of my upper arm. Darn! Well that is not what I said it was more like blue words falling out of my mouth.
Off to cuddle a very agitated Duke.
Dianne

Dianne. You need to watch those tick bites for lymes disease. If you have a red target shaped rash get to the Dr. right away.
Hello To All;
HUGS TO Diesel (and Duke poor buddy)..... So happy happy ! Got my name !
DEB those pictures are adorable. We shut down because we had about 12 candies left. Hubs had bought some a while ago "so he would not forget" and steadily ate most of it. Plus bad storms.
Bought Son and GF sushi to go and we watched Cinderella. Amazing it was released in 1950. Mom must have been 10 years old !
It was a good Halloween movie because I must have "been" Cinderella for many Trick o Treats....Deb and Judy remember those nasty plastic "masks" with tiny eye slits and they tore and the elastic broke? HAHA! wish I had a picture to show DS. Costumes these days are over the top!
OMG Dianne... can they do something for the bites? I remember the old nail polish trick.
Taking Deep Breaths Betty. Yes - Gelato in cones and cups. I had "saved" 9 days of my 10 vaca for just this very thing... to get the store open. MUCH progress made today but we had to move open day back to 11/15. Hate doing that when we already announced 11/8 but "Stuff happens"
Marilyn do they give all the pups a dog bone at the coffee shop?
DSD2 in Lafayette having her confirmation Sunday. Hubs can't go (opening shop) MIL can't go (FIL in hospital still) so I called tonight and offered to go.
I told her to think about it and let me know and she yelped back "Of COURSE I want you to come... YOU'RE My MOM!"
(tears... sniff sniff)
HUGS
Mary
She will remember that you didn't let her down Mary. And that will lead to a great relationship.
Sending my best and heartiest wishes for a very successful opening and that it continues for you. Sure do wish I could be there!! Save some lemon/lime for me okay?????
Got my name Dianne and I'm off to shop!!!! Dec 1 deadline ot mail sounds good.
Supposed to be nice today (warm) and then temps plunge tomorrow so I'm off for shopping.
~~Waving to all~~~
Oh how I remember those horrible masks Mary! And even when my two oldest were little, they
had them a year or two! So happy they don't have them much anymore. And that elastic band
snapping and hitting you in the face. OUCH.
((((Mary))))) That would have made my heart....and my eyes swell, what a sweet thing to say!!
I am working for my friend Barb again today and tomorrow. I am so exhausted, ready to fall over.
Went to bed at 8:45 last night.....woke up at Midnight screaming at DH he was late to work. Oooops. He does go to work today...but not til 10:00 this morning!
Have a good day.....
Debbie
Morning everyone,
Worry about the ticks/lime Dianne, remember about 5 years ago my posting Greg got very I'll, turned out he had lime and had to be operated on...really be vigilant watching those bites.
Mary, who would have thunk it, girls saying YOU are their mom, what a roller coaster you were on and look at the bonding now going on.
One more day making sure the opening runs smoothly is sure to be a plus!
Debbie, crafting is exhausting right? Lol. You have to tell me all about what projects she is selling..tried to get the girls to go to buffalo craft show weekend but only time we could get together was on the 22nd. Linda is on a two week cruise and won't get back until the 20th and she wouldn't be pleased if we went without her.
Barb, have fun getting your Xmas box together..take advantage of the nice days.
I will mail mine out on the 22nd from Buffalo, it's ready now but wanted to put in a few personal things..can't wait to see goodies arrive!
Good morning .. lots happening here ..
Mary .. what a wonderful gesture to go to the confirmation .. won't be forgotten fer sure.
Better you open up shop a week later than on the target date of the 8th, you'll likely be far more settled in and prepared .. best of luck ..
Dianne, I had thought those damnable ticks were GONE !! We treat both dogs with 'advantix' from May til August, then stop .. pulled one tick off each this year, they pick them up on their walks with DH .. have had none on us, but, I was tested last year when I was so ill .. negative.
Have never heard of the 'nail polish tick' Mary.
LoL Debbie, at least you didn;t HIT DH .. I seem to have become a puncher when I dream :-(
Hope your weekend working is OK.
Have laundry on the go here, and, am patiently waiting for phonecalls with ANYONE interested in buying Lorna's little Chev Cavalier .. had a guy show up yesterday who basically wanted it FREE !!! HELLO .. it runs, just needs brakes !!
Gord is off Moose hunting tomorrow, so, I guess any dog walking will come from me, although, I can't bend over far enough yet to get the leashes on, but, Lorna can :-)
Take care everyone
Toodles
~M~
I have my name also......fantastic for sure.
Yikes ticks!!! We are concerned with those horrible things almost year round down this way. Ah the nail polish trick Mary......if you have ever had it done to you, believe me, you don't forget it!
Going to be a long day today. Son is going to the football game tonight but has to leave at 3 this afternoon. Grandma gets to spend the day and most of the night it appears with the girls. Can you say: FUN!!!! Their mom is out of town visiting her sister who just had a baby girl on Thursday.
Stay warm, dry and safe everyone.
yup yup - have my name too, for the Santa Warren Christmas exchange :-)
I'm excited!
It sure looks like Christmas now.... solid snow for 24 hours, the weather station said.....
a bit of a white-out, and we had record hot temps for our city just less than a week ago.... well, that's Calgary for ya!!
Betty - so sorry to hear about Sharon's puppies.... (am I on the right thread? I get confused...). Best that the mother doesn't breed again, but how heart-breaking for Sharon....
yaaaaaaay for Lorna getting her truck! and I know that these detailers have worked for years on tobacco smoke, but still..... it's difficult to get out.
Mrs Santa Claus? how awesome is that!?!? I want to see pics....
(((Mary))) it's wonderful to hear those words...... "you're my MOM!". and you deserve every happy tear you shed because of it...... :-)
Debbie - I can't remember when I dreamt last..... however, you are a good alarm clock for your DH lol
If I'm missing anyone, I'm sorry, but you know I love you all!!!!!!!!!
Busy here, planning the Santa Warren Christmas swap lol it's going to be fun, fun, fun!
Always mindful of the length of time it takes to cross the border... I'm sure those border peeps want the goodies in the packages... if it's honey butter tarts, they could likely smell them a mile away!!
Not to say that's what I'm sending lol
No one but our dear Dianne will know..........until the receipt of the parcel by....... lol
Hello To All;
(HUGS) Barb... YES will save a Lime Sorbetto for you.... we had those at the "Free Sampling" on Thursday.... after we ran out of the mango sorbetto. Thanks for the encouraging words....
Deb... You must have your days/nights mixed up. what kind of work are you doing? Yes I cried when DSD2 said that....and it felt good.
Betty my dear - where exactly are you? LOL...
Marilyn... Moose hunting? I think I've seen a moose once in my life.... when we went to see "Snow" a long time ago we took pictures of the "moose crossing" signs.....
Back in Girl Scouts when we went camping we were told to paint nail polish over tick bites and that would kill them... I suppose they couldn't breathe?
Thankfully Marion.... I don't recall having to do it myself... must be painful? Have FUN with those grandbabies !
Susan ... WOW SNOW! I can't even imagine it. Thank you for your kind words....
Got to get to bed early... drive to Lafayette for confirmation in the morning...a little over an hour to get there.....
(HUGS)
Mary
Safe travels Mary..where amd I, ft Myers Florida, but, will sleep in my own bed tonight!
See we are all excited as out our names, gabbing all year like we do makes us family so nice preparing a Christmas gift for someone special.
Susan, guess we just have to get into the snow mode, wether we like it or not it's a coming
Got an email from Sharon, Graeme who shows her dogs at all the shows bought her a ticket for Cozumel, Mexico for a well, she leaves Wedn. Thought it would do her some good getting away.
Better try sleeping again
Betty - it is snowing here this am. Only flurries but snow none the less!!!. I'm so not ready for this...
Ukkkk, oh well ..bet you are Norm are looking forward to the not worrying about shovelling..and you dear lady can stay in and sew to your hearts content.
Only regret is my outdoor stuff is still outside, need to close in back porch..sure I'll get all done this week and weekend. Lol
Bags are at the door, yikes bought far more than I thought. Lol
Darlene asked if I couldn't leave some of my fabric till I come at Christmas with the car, nope, got to have that fabric made into quilts before then.
When you think how early you have to be to the airport before your flight, the travelling to and back home one might as well drive
FOG!!!!!!!!!!! doom of the north land at this time of the year .. the dround is still warm (ish), but, the air coming in is cool .. got up with Gord ay 5am, watched him eat some oatmeal and then helped him make a thermos of tea, and, one of soup .. he already made some sandwiches last evening .. he left at 5:30am all decked out in his BLAZE ORANGE JUMPSUIT and had, he loves the outdoors, but, as he pulled away I got the ever famous ,nervousness' I get when he heads out .. but, they have been doing it for years, and are ULTRA cautious ..
Mary .. moose are big and brown and kinda .. well, for lack of a better word, stupid, but, what they lack in 'smarts', they make up for with their ability to smell anything that isn't quite 'right', say like a human nearby.
Once this fog dissipates they'll have a stellar day (I hope)
Betty .. no snow here .. seems to have taken over the West around Calgary and further north .. right now, as I said, we have fog and the temps are rising. I think we're going to be good for a bit, but, rainy.
Safe travels home, and, I think Graeme is a love to buy Sharon that ticket !!
Susan, good to see you posting, and, thanks for the 'baking idea' ^_^
Mary, enjoy the confirmation, brings back memories to me re Murrays .. I had a horrible cold, and a cough that once started just kept on, I was sitting in the 3rd pew, pockets full of cough candies and kleenex, and, just as the Bishop started to speak with the kids, YEP, I started to cough .. the Bishop turned, spoke to one of the priests who quickly brought me a glass of water, must have been holy water because the cough stopped almost immediately !!
I should get productive here, or, not ..
Toodles
~M~
Sitting out in the sunshine, what a breeze!
Think I'd be worried as well seeing the hunters go off. Does Murray go with Gord?
No sale of Lorna's vehicle? Hasn't run in a year or so has it?
Changing clocks kind of makes for long morning, keep thinking I should be on the road but still an hour or so to bake.
Yes he is a dear, he is the one who Sharon made the dog quilt for. Says she will drive my car to airport seeing hers is on the frizzzz. She bought a new van but doesn't get it till tomorrow.
Seems different dressing in my fall clothing
Safe travels, Betty.
They postponed Trick or Treat here in many neighborhoods. The wind just was AWFUL. So some did it Friday, some last night.
Been busy trying to get the gardens ready for winter. Still need to bring in my "art". Have one more Elephant Ear to dig up and the pond to close. Geez.....didn't realize until I started typing how much I have to do yet! Better get to it!
Thanks Joyce
You and I will have frozen fingers..always hate closing up
Thankfully I bought hip waiters in the spring, need to get into the pond to wake water feature out.
Here I is, sitting in the airport 2 hrs early only to find my flight changed to 1/2 hr later
Anyone around to gab
Think LndaKay is still at the quilt show,
Katie, haven't had an update on how she is doing
Debbie, working away crafting..sure wish I could go to the craft show her friend is in
Maybe I will have a bite at burger king then surf the web for quilt patterns and craft ideas
I am putting more up on Facebook page if anyone wants to see more!
How spectacular LindaKay..wow and double wow..aren't they priceless..believe I have the sewing machine pattern, first one shown..always mean to get it done and hung in the craft room..pattern must be more than 10 yrs old..that makes me want to find it and do it, think the drawback was it was paper pieced
You must be exhausted, wish we had such a show..buy anything?
Still sitting in airport, they should have outside deck as to take advantage of the sunshine
I'm popping in. Played around cleaning pond filters and fishing leaves out. Geesh, that's a never-ending job! Brought two EEs in for winter also. Seems like I did more than that...oh yes, I put two of my 3 umbrellas away. The other one is too heavy for me to move alone.
Came in to start dinner. Going to fix Swiss Steak. Can't remember if I've ever made this or not. I'm going to use an Alton Brown recipe. Hope it turns out yummy.
Wish I was hanging with you Betty. I know it's boring as get out when you're waiting at the airport alone.
Linda Kay...lovely....nuff said!
Chicken looks like a hand painted piece..love the birds
Just boarding
If the plane makes it I'll gab later
If not..sure has been an honor knowing you all..
Aren't I in a mood. Lol
LOL! Talk to you in a few hours!
OHMIGOSH Linda, those quilts are everso beautiful .. wondrous ..
I can't say as there is ONE I don't like, but, am drawn to the one with the old sewing machine on it .. just lovely.
We do have quilters (and a club) here in Thunder Bay, but I'm pretty sure they keep their art to within their 'inner circle', I remember my cousin posting a pic of one of her cousins quilts, I asked her if her cousin took 'orders' that's when I found out, these quilters do it for the LOVE of quilting, and preferred not to take orders, no harm in trying ^_^
Betty, you will be fine and dandy on the flight .. is it direct to Toronto?
Took the dogs out for a car ride .. they of course got their 'treat' at the Tims drive thru LoL
That Piper is a busy boy in the car .. Lilly just sits so prim and proper.
Lorna's car is in running order, new tires and battery .. just needs 'brake work' which is NOT cheap, but, the negine in the car is A OK.
She is so excited re the truck, hopefully we can pick it up tomorrow .. no rush .. I'll hsve pics, so, hopefully we'll be in a new thread as this one is getting long ..
MMmmmmmmm Swiss steak, made with moose meat it is awesome Joyce. I betcha yours will be a hit !!
Susan .. how is your Mom?
Best go start our dinner .. had prime rib roasts on sale so am cookin'er up. One of our bigger chains here in TBay put them on for 4.77/lb, beautiful roasts .. Gord's favourite and, i would imagine he'll be hungry from doing a lot of walking today, or, who knows, maybe the guys will have gotten a moose. Murray usually goes with his Dad, but, he's wrking today.
I'm OUTTA here , a wee spider just poked it's body out of the dang KEYBOARD .. I HATE SPIDERS !!!!!!!!!!
M
Love the twisted Kitty!!! That will make a fun project for sure.
What kinds of things do your quilters make "M"? Quilts, runners, placemats? Sounds like an exclusive group to me though. Surprising as most quilters are the friendliest people I know...
Hoping this finds you nearly home Betty.....
Linda, the Kitty is a cutie :-)
Barb, the Quilters Guild here makes all kinds of quilts, and, I would imagine other items as well ..
They are friendly folks, but, tend to keep to themselves in so far as making and selling .. I'm going to have to look into it more.
I know one of my nursing supervisors (long ago) did quilting ONLY by hand, she would explain it to us and I was just boom swoggled by the hours it took/
I looked, here's a link http://thunderbayquilters.org/?page_id=45
Supper is done, dishes are done, and I am going to play my Scrabble games and then perhaps watch TV
DH got home early, no moose, but had a great day in the fresh air ^_^
Toodles
~M~
Happy birthday Crissy. Hope you had a great day.
