Thinking if we have the parcels mailed out by Dec 1 everyone should receive theirs before Christmas. Well we can't count on my mailman but he's just special. Could I please have your answer by Fri Oct. 14. (p.s. Betty changed Dianne's 11th to 14th so that some who post more on vacation can see it)
That way we can get the names out early.

Morning all ...

For the first time in awhile, we had RAIN overnight, was nice to listen to it falling on the plastic tablecloth on the patio table .. temps are not that bad, likely up into the high 50s low 60s today, but, more than likely, rainy, way I look at it is, the trees need the moisture to over winter.
Lorna has the pruning done and the flower gardens are almost done for, she hates to be caught in a rush, she did leave some pansies, and, the Impatiens looks wonderful.

Whoa Judy, i hope you have a successful trip to AZ to be with your nephew.

LindaK, how is Kathy doing? Prayers for her.

I am glad TG is over, too much of stressor for me, and, I went at it GUNGHO!! Should have perhaps gone less overboard .. ahh well .. paying for it .. but feeling better by the day.

Lovely day here so far, supposed to rain but sunshine now. Hope it holds, been taking Missy Amelia outside every day for a bit and now she expects it every time someone goes to the door. Sure gonna miss that little muffin. Going downstate on Fri., the guys have their Cannonade on the weekend. Amelia and I will stay with DDIL and grands, then head to TN early in the week.

Karen you do a lot of driving. Do you ever get tired of it?

went to Ontario Gmt re health insurance card this morning, lady was so helpful
gave me so much info..advised me NOT to do a legal name change. I with all my documentation can go back to Pauze, only thing I cannot have is Betty, must be Bessie

has to be what is on your birth certificate..with my mom's mom dying a few months before I was born she called me Bessie after her, then came christening, priest said Bessie was non catholic, actually said it was the name of a cow..thus Saint name 'Elizabeth' which in short form they called me Betty..

Just talked to Ann and got an update

Alex was unable to come home for Thanksgiving, having issues of stop breathing, turns blue and need reviving..was when fed but had had it a few times during the night, want to make sure this issue is dealt with before they discharge him

Addy, holding her own, Sel and Melissa have asked for a meeting with the specialists..want an honest opinion as to her status

Awe Betty LOL if anyone knows themselves it is you.... Sad a priest would say that. Hubby is Catholic but was discouraged by many things he saw happen in re: back when he was a broke single dad with 2 little girls and church always wanted $ to do this or that....
One of the single most moving religious moments I have had in my life was watching MIL with her rosary when FIL went in the hospital.
He is doing better but I have not been by...
Feel bad about it but in a sense working 2 jobs now.
Especially since now the Witchy's "know".

Good morning all ^_^

Well, I did rest yesterday, good day to do it as it was a crummy wet day ..
Today I feel so so .. but, won't go back to bed, it sure did my hip NO good.

I once had an Aunt Bessie, she was a lovely exuberant soul .. one of her sisters 'Dorrie" always called her 'Bets' ..

The Catholic church and i are friends at 'arms length' presently. Until the upper echelon start giving women the proper treatment (becoming priests) I'm hanging around in the outter circle.
Mary, I can see what you mean about seeing your MiL with the rosary, it was always a comfort to my Mum too.

I hope Sel and Melissa have a good meeting with the specialist, no soft soaping, I feel they NEED to know what is in Addy's and Alex's future as they are in it to stay ..

Think I need some food, have had nothing but a muffin since yesterday, but, just don't feel like it.

As well, I think my computer is having some 'issues', Have had this laptop for 7 years, a Dell, and not a thing the matter with it, til now. SO, if I'm gone for a bit, that could be why, BUT, I do have my PlayBook to stay in touch, ahhhhhhhhh technology !!

good morning, I slept in. guess I needed a bit of extra snooze time. going to have a coffee and get to sewing. lots and lots to do.

it seems most every post, I posted yesterday disappeared :(
the best of all I had to say was it was a whirlwind here for 48 hours. Malena was here !!! and she brought her Mom and Dad and baby sister ^_^

we had a very nice visit. short but sweet. got news I DID NOT want to hear. but he is a soldier.
I knew it was coming. now I need to hope my employers will give me a few days off just after Christmas. so we can go for a visit. even though I knew it was coming....I am NOT handling this one very well. want to just sit and cry every time I think of it!!!! trying to keep happy thoughts in my head... I will have to blast some good tunes while I am sewing, funny thing there. blues music makes me feel better?!!

I had a great time Saturday at Suzanne's with 5 year old Arianna..I had brought 12 pockets for the 6 totes, she felt I was there to rest so with knitting needle decided to poke the corners for me..asked if i could make her one before heading home..told her I couldn't, didn't have my machine..she asked could I not go home, make one and bring it to her the following day..explained I was having Thanksgiving and had a lot of work

soooo nearly done making her a tote bag with all the leftovers I can find

She is going to love that tote!

Thunder, what can we say .. nothing really cuts it .. my nephew Robert is 'thinking' he 'might' be sent back to Afghanistan .. he's been there twice and, to Iraq as well .. I had his pic on here I think .. anywho, he was supposed to have gone 3 months ago, but caught a break.
He's a Colonel .. I really don't understand a lot of the Insignias etc .. I know he jumps out of planes though, that's enough to make me ILL!!

DID some stuff today to make ME feel better, and, on this sunny day , it worked :-)
As always, it was cooking, made a turkey tetrazinni.
Wanted to ask who had the recipe for 'turkey pie' .. someone had mentioned it, and I sure would like to give it a go !!

Gave Greg my leftover turkey, kept just enough to make a soup..lots of stuffing left..was hungry for tortierre's, stuffing good with it, took one out of the freezer, just got in and not hungry.

Rita is doing her office work downstairs, just like I'm on my own, hardly know she ups here, perhaps she might have some.

Rob is a handsome feller fer sure, but, he is one way with family (he has a wife and 3 kids) and, another with his job.
I do know when he went to Iraq he was a brunette, and came home as grey as they come ..

Tortiere, yum, Linda in BC gave me a really great recipe once, but, I filed it ? on here.

Gonna be an early night methinks .. NCIS was ok last night .. one show (the one I like just plain NCIS) is less violent as NCIS Los Angeles. ..

I sure don't know all of the insignias either Marilynne My soldier also jumps out of planes, and repels out of helicopters.

ribbons on the chest are in simple terms for deeds done. ie... he went to Afghanistan, so there would be one for that. things on shoulders are for rank. I know what my sons is, but could not tell you what the rank patch looks like. in USA also on shoulder would be US flag and unit he is in. Navy ranks are very different from Army, stripes are on sleeves for ranks.

first picture is not my son, but this is how he dresses for work, you can see some of patches and how they are placed in this photo. photo with baby is mine !! no Navy boy photos on this computer.

So Proud and Thankful for those soldiers who help us keep our freedom.

Morning everyone ...

Looks like 'good news' in the US re the gov't shutdown .. am hoping those kept from their jobs are able to go back, and, most importantly, are compensated for what pay they lost.

Another cool morning, I think it might be 30F, but, despite calls for rain/snow, the horizon is bright.
Not much happening, just trying to get DH set up for his trip west for the Sportsmans Show .. got him a map of Winnipeg yesterday so he has CABELAS marked out on it very well LoL a brand new store .. he and his bud are pretty excited, so are Lorna and I, we get to watch 'chick flicks' and no need for a scheduled supper time .. altho that one habit of mine is hard to put a dent in !

Should go and 'place' another log on the fire, gone are my days of scooping up a log and tossing it in the woodstove .. gotta watch that hip !

I switched from log fires to electric/propane, not quite as nice but less work..

Fridge full of goodies, enough to feed me Fri/Sat/Sun and not have to cook, just warm up
Guess I'll be able to spend time finishing another few quilt projects.

Haven't finished what I have and yet bought a magazine this morning 'Best Christmas Quilts'
maybe I can just look at the beauties and not be tempted

Patience is running short..

bought a new hp pro printer..just connected it, line running horizontal through copies..just spent being put on hold now 56 minutes..just came on and said it was beyond his scope, they are busy and will call me back..should have done so at the beginning

don't know about you but my blood boils at the lack of customer service at these companies..

Went through the same thing with my scanner, wait and wait only to be told the same thing. Hello? they are supposed to know what they are about but evidently if it's not in their script.......

I would take it back and exchange it.

That happened to me Betty with a DVD player. I called was put on hold for over 30 min then switched to another department, put on hold again. After an hour on the phone I was finally told they couldn't help me as I was in Canada and had to call the Canadian number. There was NO Canadian number on the set up sheet or brochure. Grr!!

Been busy working with my son trying to get the "dungeon" (sewing/craft rooms) finished. He was called back into work this morning (Archeologist with National Park Service) so I have a little more time to myself. Hopefully it won't be much longer and all the work will be finished and I can move my sewing items into their long awaited home area. Hooray!!

I need to go back and read everything a little better but suffice to say I hope all are well and enjoying themselves.

OMG..said they had that problem with the machine...turn it on/off, on/off from power source and it should work..

Did that fix it?
