no problem Betty - I found that my Telus was under contract for TV and Internet, but not phone, so I switched my phone. Will save $6/month, and every little bit helps. Not only that, but I have so many other countries I can call now - I may try to find family of mine and Bob's in Scotland!! lol

Afternoon everyone, I am back home from San Antonio. Yesterday was my youngest son's Birthday, and I drove over to surprise him. We had a great time, and I already miss Dylan. he is growing so fast!
Mary, Luna is doing fine, she is so full of it lately, always wanting to go out and play with her tennis ball! When does your business open! Sure hope that bigger door is an easy fix?

Betty, so sorry to hear about your Moms fall down the steps, I agree, she need to get a one level home! It is about time you go see the Dr. for that pain, it has been going on for too long!!!

Got all the cut-outs done for the last 5 birdhouse blocks, lordy it sounded like fun in March ..was all gung ho, made 2 sent them out and just didn't get moving on the next 10..made headway, now to find time to do applique stitch on all of them and get them posted.

Marilyn - even a bundle has only part of the bundle that's locked in. I found that out, the other day, when I checked with Telus - my internet and tv were under contract, but the phone wasn't under contract at all.

Great photos Betty, I miss making costumes too, kids never had a store bought one, Think they were deprived?
Best ones were often the most simple. Did Smurfs one year with blue PJ sleepers, white knit caps,a bit of blue make-up, white skirt and blonde wig for the girl.
They've endured too some of them are being worn by third generation. When we had a bigger house, I had a huge walk in closet full of costumes, all the family came every year to root through and see what they could find. Turned all that over to DD.

think my DIL's pass them around to other kids..mine come up with unusual things and don't want to wear what the other one did..

Betty, bet one of them will wait till last minute like before and ask you to make one!

TONS of thanks for the birthday wishes, it has been an amazing day, and I have enjoyed every single second, even the ride into the city at 7:30am to have the dogs groomed, but, then there was a nice breakfast with DH and then some shopping, and, I could WALK and do it all .. however .. after a Chinese Food dinner, and a lovely cake .. i am ready for bed ..

The shooting in Washington was quite upsetting to read about, and i thought along the lines of Barb .. guess we'll see. i can only imagine the folks who live from pay check to pay check in a panic right now ....

Sharon is here, we got her 2 sets of placemats quilted, just needs binding
Think she was anxious to start memory quilt but I said I'd rather be wide awake and bushy tail before starting to cut out fabric.

Melanie dropped in for 1/2 hr while she waiting on her pizza and chicken wings

She was just leaving when Rita got here, says she has about 75% of the house packed..her first night here, hooe she stays for a,few weeks or longer, give her time to adjust to being alone and decide on the next chapter of her life.

All settling in our own rooms, now I'm all worked up and wide awake.

Didn't hear any news except while driving home, did they say it was a woman /child and woman was shot while in pursuit?

Morning everyone!

'Mornin everyone. Well I need to do a quick look/see at the yard for items just incase we get some of the storm.

No work going on today in the dungeon waiting on the skim coat to dry. Besides today the GDs are home from school (day off) and since dad is caught in the government shut down, he plans to spend the day doing things with them. Not a problem for me. :-) This will give me a chance to finish cleaning up all the debris from the sanding of the first coat.

Todd has been furloughed too but he still has to go to work. He is a civil service worker for the base and everyone is upset they have to work not knowing when they will get paid.

This is definitely a mess. The children in D.C. need to stop pouting and take care of business.

Good morning from Northern Canada, where, the frost is coming BACK to cover the pumpkins starting tonight. knew the awesome temps were nothing but a tease, BUT, no Hurricane Karen to contend with, or the SNOW that is falling in northen Montana and up into BC/Alberta in Canada.

Betty, it'll be nice to have a house mate for a bit, sure hope Rita is feeling better. Her next chapter will be a toughie.

Debbie, I am 'sittin on it' here as well .. don't know if your upset is child related, but, mine is .. son Murray went and bought a new 2014 truck for wifey, she decided she didn't like her SUV anymore .. I am furious, but saying nothing, his pile ... but, he's already working TWO jobs, she works 'whenever' the spirit move her ... makes me feel a headache coming on !!

No sooner done that Darlene popped in 7:30am, took her mom to the hospital for blood transfusion, can't pick her up till 2:30 this afternoon sooo

Still working on my new company..... needing favours...... here, in Calgary - have a meeting tomorrow night, and obviously I'm doing the wrong thing - can't get my friends to come look at the services I'm offering - even if it's a favour for me. Am I really that bad a person that they won't help a friend?

They are probably like us, under contract with what they already have? We don't have a house phone, and I just renewed out Sprint service for 2 years!
