just leaving,
will read and blame Joyce when I get home and settled..
plumber coming to see what is needed to put that new stone counter top in, I got it made maybe 6" longer, ooops maybe now I need a new cupboard
need some pain meds, some that won't send me to bed at 6:30-7:00
Rita moving in with me Thursday, need to clean the closet in her room and make room for her computer seeing she has a business she runs (fiberglass)
Will be a busy busy week
Best/Worse,what did I learned today? All welcome to join in
Well $10. (I had a half off coupon), 3 yards of red flannel, and 1 hour later got 62 powder bags all done. That's more than enough for 2 years. Now to clean up that mess so I can get back to my own stuff.
Only a couple of days for that, I just found out DGS and Amelia are coming back this week end for a couple of weeks.
LK poor little Duke has a raging UTI. No wonder I was having trouble house training him. I usually house train a dog is less than a week and just wasn't getting anywhere with Duke. A friend stopped by this afternoon and mentioned how much happier and calmer Duke looked. I sure needed to hear that as there are times I feel like I am banging my head against a post.Duke no longer paces when he is awake and for that I am very thankful.
All this talk of Frankenmuth got me to looking http://www.frankenmuth.org/
Now I REALLY want to go .. seems to be a quaint place .. touristy but nice ..
Took us 2 days to get to Traverse City once, so, am imagining this destination would be the same?
The tye dye is incredibly lovely, crafty hubby !! My DH is strictly into hunting and marksmanship stuff .. mind you, he cooks a mean chili and some knock yer sox off beans !!
My gosh, poor wee Alex, darned MRSA .. can see why they have to watch out for Addy ..
Not much time to stop and chat .. have some Hospice courses to look over, want to take a few of them, but, it's ALL or nothing .. so, have to get a feel for them.
Toodles
~M~
Marilynne, my hubs used to love that stuff too. but physically he can not do much of it any more. If he was to shoot a gun with much of any kick back.....it would probably paralyze him !!
his spine is held together with plates and pins, and it seems every few years he has to add more hardware. he is not supposed to lift anything more than 3 pounds.
Holly smackers Karen, you've sewn up a storm, bet you are in hubby's good books! Can see you smilling from here having Amelia to spoil again..they are coming from where?? Tennessee?
Dianne, so glad the meds are working on Duke, poor thing..I'm chuckling, you sure have your hands full with Diesel and Duke. I'll be in MeFord Saturday and will be thinking of you.thanks for asking about Noah, he works until 6:30pm so will wait till later and call and ask about his weekend..when I spoke to Mel today she says everyone are on their best behavior
Joyce, don't play Mrs Innocent, I know better..you guys had me outside while that Karen was picking pressies for me..I'm game when you all are
"M" If they say Alex is a carrier then how could he have gotten it from someone not washing their hands or is that a fallacy ! Are you ready to go back to doing palliative care? Sharon had to take a break, she was mentally worn out, just going on Sundays..
Thunder wasn't there a bit of improvement with his back? Not enough gor hunting but a relief of pain.
Jason just came and did all the measurements and looked as to what supplies he needs to put new counter top..cupboard has to be strengthened as the stone countertop is heavy plus he has to make a cedar side cupboard about 5" to allow for extra length..he works full time so not sure when he will do it but he says he wants to get it done (secretely I'm saying yeh to soon)
Sorry Betty, I don't know about Joyce but I was innocent in that caper. The others didn't know me so I wasn't in on what was coming down.
Hubby takes such good care of me, I'm always glad when I can do something for him. This is really his only event for the year.
Bob is coming from Tennessee for the cannonade. He is a stay at home dad as his back doesn't allow him to work. Another DGS is going to go get him as we cannot make the trip. He had to go now though because of his job and military obligations. We are going back downstate next week-end and will pick Bob & Amelia up at our daughters and bring them up here. DD also told me she had a box of clothes there ready to send to Amelia so those will come in handy as she doesn't have cool weather clothes. Good thing we have a few that can send clothing back and forth.
Betty hold the control button and use you mouse to scroll. It will make your text larger or smaller.
Is that Noah? He sure looks happy.
Noah does look happy, sure hope he's got his demons out of his system.
just found it..this moving from ipad to computer to lap top is confusing for this old gal
was tempted to put in an hour or so on the next quilt (twin) but think I'm just going to make myself cozy in bed, get my painting magazine out and see what I need to do the wine glass candle holders, just found a box of 24
Karen we spoke for a bit, told him how proud I was of him
he said things were going good at school, I asked if he was being harassed by kids he previously hung out with and he said no..I asked if he was fibbing me and he said no all was good at school
asked how he and dad were doing, said both were trying but tempers flare from time to time
Greg took him to Meaford to let him ride his dirtbike..said he rode 2 hours sat. night and 8 hrs Sunday
As for work he says they need someone 5 days a week and Saturday..I personally think it's too much but he said he has $1,500 to pay on the bike, the rest was covered. He said 2 brothers each bought a bike $6,900, rode them for a bit and didn't like it so brought them back for resale..because Noah / Kyle works there and Greg is always buying something or other and does a lot of work for them they sold it at cost, good bargain Noah said
it's a start..am sure it will still be hard going BUT one day at a time...
told him how pleased I was that he could visit, told me he'd come more often to say hi
Hello To All;
Trying to hang in there... I am reading scanning if I forget to mention something I truly apologize....
Thunder that tie die is pretty. I told hubs yesterday I wanted tie die shirts in orange and brown for our employees but he did not like that idea.... I thought it would be cute.
Dianne.... LOVED China Beach especially for the Delaney character.... so glad Duke is settling in... Diesel needed a dog. LOL Keep saying we need to get a dog for Belle. LK How is Luka ?
Spent almost 3 hours with FIL today so MIL could go home... she is up there 24/7 now and hard to get her to leave. He is out of ICU, still with Trach and respirator. Today I heard him say a few words. The opening had a set back yesterday ...but with everything going so smoothly I was expecting that.....
We apparently designed the kitchen area in such a way that we won't be able to get equipment back there LOL... Hubs says $500 to fix.... change the size of a door
Now that I've posted on FB....surely witchy knows or will find out soon... but I'm having a swell month at work. I do believe we are blessed...
Thanks all for thoughts / prayers...
Betty... Noah looks good.... and I think I can glean now the reasoning ....so Greg will have excuse to spend more time with him and keep an eye on him... that makes sense....
Good for you getting the straight answers out of him....
HUGS to all
Mary
Morning
quick in/out, will gab in a bit
just got a call from sharon, mom fell downstairs last night, spent all night at the hospital..poor/poor Jim!
Sending hugs Betty, Hope Sharon's Mom is OK!! And yours too!
http://www.staph-infection-resources.com/info/carrier/
The above link explains the MRSA carrier dilemma .. here in Canada if you are admitted to an acute care hospital from any other kind of facility, be it a Homes for the Aged, a Rehab hospital etc, you have to have your 'orifices' swabbed and the swab sent to the lab to ensure you are not a carrier of MRSA, if you are .. you are isolated for your stay.
Mary, seems as though things are coming together for you two, despite a few burps!
Betty, hope Noah is back on track .. seems to be though ..
I am just doing more courses for Hospice right now, will be ready to take on a client/patient in November, I'm making sure I keep all my options open .. Lorna has even expressed an interest in going to some of the classes .. we'll see ..
Rain is falling, DH is out with the dogs for a walk!!
Dianne, good you found out Duke has a UTI, the meds will make him feel so much better ..
Lilly needs her anal glands expressed, will tell the groomer on Thursday .. NOT something I will do, don't want to have to suffer 'the LOOK' from her after it's done LoL
Have a wonderful day, and, RABBIT RABBIT .. Happy OCTOBER !!!
Toodles

Akkkkkkkkkk .. best wishes re your Mom Betty !!!
HUGS

Oh Betty...so sorry about your Mom. Hope she didn't break anything!
Not good Betty. Please update us about your mom . Hoping she didn't have any serious injuries.
new swap open
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1336152/
Just talked to her, seems kitty was meooowing and she decided to go look what the problem was..had taken her sleep time meds and thus fell down first flight of stairs.
luckily no broken bones but her skin is so porcelain like that a good portion of the skin lifted and was just hanging..they froze the area and had to cut a lot off, did some precautionary fixes and gave her meds that have morphine and told her to spend a few days resting.
she was up when I called, said she thought it would be better to keep moving...gave her the story that she has to sell that 3 floor house and move to cottage otherwise one day she will fall, break her hip and her bones are extremely thin and that she would end up in a home bedridden..said 'guess that is what will happen to me' so you can't win and I let it go by
Aunt Muriel is still at her brothers for another week or so..operation went well..she's a tuffff old lady but a dear.
Oh dear....hope she heals okay and doesn't over do.
Laughing at Debbie's post, last week there was a big 'to do' with whose mother she was..not mine and Sharon says not hers..guess I'm the winner because I soooo look like her lol
but really think she's more Sharon
then we tried to give her to Debbie, as mom likes Debbie
Mary, so much going on in your life..
easy fix is right, could have been so much worse
prayers coming your way for FIL and MIL, sometimes I think it's harder on the spouse that sits in waiting..oh oh, when I saw it posted on facebook that's the first thought that came to mind, witchypoo will see it then thought who cares, hubby is entitled to starting up a business
BATTEN the hatches Betty, sending some wicked wind your way!
Fella on the radio warned us to get out and enjoy the fall colours before noon, because, soon after noon the wind would be picking up, well, he wasn't kidding !!!
The leaves are falling like rain out there, even the dogs won't go out as they're afraid of the noise of the wind.
Do so hope your Mom will be OK, she's really going to have to watch that skin tear she got.
The skin is the bodies largest organ, and, it doesn't like being injured .. just good to hear no broken bones ..
Mary, keeping your family in my thoughts ..
Supper is done here, made it early as there is stuff to do out of the house tonight .. best go try and look 'spry' for my physiotherapist, but, I know she's gonna gimmee heck for being on my feet too long on Sunday ...
Toodles
~M~
Maybe I sent the wind your way "M"
you should see my yard, about 1" of leaves on most of it!!!
Body aches just thinking of all the raking, might call the neighbor Noah and see if he wants to rake.
Aha, you realize you did too much Sunday..pointing my finger, not a good thing.
Thanks for well wishes re mom but she won't listen, guess I'm much like her lol
Kyle got here at 11:30 and didn't leave until 3:00
many hours to fill in between classes
He had to run to pick up oil for Noah's dirt bike, didn't realize needed oil change and filter about every 8 hrs..$30 for both so gave him money to pay for it and money for him..I'll have to learn to live
with less dollars for my allowance seeing I'm treating the boys.
This morning I was finding it so hot in here, no air to breath now I'm freezing, got the chills
lots of colds going on so maybe I'm catching something.
Sorry to read of Mom's fall Betty. Sure hope she is okay.
Today was a lazy day here. I just couldn't get in the swing of things for some reason. So I read a book instead of sewing. That and a bit of housework and now Norm is home!!!
Nice to have some of those days Barb, downtime is what your body needed.what did you read?
Are you getting this spectacular weather? Makes travelling for Norm a lot easier.
Sitting here yawning, watching 'Castle' rerun.. was trying to stay up late, at least 10 so i might sleep all night but bed is calling me.
Home again, home again .. and as wise as a tree full of owls, NOT LoL
I find that no matter how good the speaker is, or, how engaging the topic is, i sit in the class and look at how people have their hair cut, or what kind of an accessory they have on .. drives me bugs, no control ..
Glad I went though. Lilly and Piper have been asked to visit a Hospice client who is just nuts about dogs, so, plans are in the works for the visit.
Have had my 'therapeutic one glass of wine', and am now off to bed, busy day ahead tomorrow ..
Sleep well all
~M~
I read one of the mysteries from Annie's Attic. They are a series and are nice light reading....
LOVE reading Barb. Hooked on Kate Morton books right now .. not really light reading, but very entertaining.
Just nice you had a YOU day ^_^
Have all the ingredients out to start baking, best get at it, the Applesauce bread won't bake itself ,,
Have an awesome day all
TOODLES

Happy 33rd anniversary to me (and Bill)! We had wonderful news at his check-up with the pulmonary Dr. He had two big tests and they came back with all clear on heart and lungs. He does have a leaky heart valve, but he said nothing to worry about and nothing to do about it right now. His sleep study shows severe sleep apnea. We'll take care of that, too and then he should feel so much better. Anyway...YAY!!!! ^_^
YAY! for sure Joyce and congrats to you both on all counts.
Happy Anniversary Joyce and Bill. That's a wonderful health report. So happy for you....
Thank you all. I can't stop smiling!
Meant to say in my earlier post that Noah went to court this morning..forget what Greg called it but until January he must attend meeting with a phychologist once a week, the call for the appointment will not come to Greg or Mel but directly to him, 1st one he misses he will be back in court! Greg and Mel hoped this would happen, way of getting help and him NOT having to supervise or fight him to do so.
Spent all morning thinking of heading out to emerge, drats these headaches and neck pain are getting out of control, then it came to me, stress likely of all going on and then court today so took some meds but promised myself, if no better in the next few days emerge it shall be.
Hi all - sorry to hear about your mom's fall, Betty - she may think she's being pragmatic (oh well, what will be, will be....) but she's being foolish - she needs to get in a place with less stairs! Glad no bones were broken.......
(((((((((Betty))))))))) lots of gentle hugs to you - this situation with Noah must be so tiring on all the family.
I'm in a new job, with a company called ACN. We sell services like Cell phone, home phone, internet, tv, etc, through 23 companies, of course including Canada and US. Now, if I can get some sales, it would be awesome...... anyone want to try it out? It would be a HUGE help to me, to get some startup sales......
Bob's helping too, and it looks like a real job that we can work hard at and make a good bit of change. Yes, it's self-employment, but yes we'd be able to do things without having a type of job where I'd have to give up my church work - they can run consequentially......
oh, forgot to put my webstore link here lol
http://susanjm.acndirect.com/default.asp
and if you're not in Canada, click on the appropriate flag at the bottom, for the country you Are in.
I need customers...... big promotion on right now, which would help me a LOT.
Bob's helping me as well.
Congratulations Joyce/Bill on your 33rd..doing the happy dance for Bill's great results! Now to look after his sleep apnia he'll be good for another 33 years.
I've set aside reading for a bit because once I get involved in reading all else goes by the wayside
Sounds interesting Susan, would love to give it a try but most of what I have I'm under contract..will have to see when it ends
