Still need prayers for Steve... Message is copied from Hollies Facebook page...
Need Prayers Again:
Steve woke up in A fib this morning around 3:30am. That is where the top part of your heart just flutters and does not beat properly causing an irregular heart beat. This means his heart is not pumping oxygen rich blood to the rest of his body causing him to be light headed. We are in the ER now and heading to ICU on cardiazem dip. Hopefully, he will convert to a regular heart rhythm on medication.
Steve is getting a CT right now. The cardiologist want to know why he is having A-Fib. Looks like the plan at this point is to increase the medication and wait. We will be here in the ICU at least until tomorrow. They are allowing him to eat and drink now, which is good news. That means that they are not planning on any surgical intervention. Hopefully, that will include not getting shocked. Thank you for all of your prayers and please keep them coming.
Also, my Sister is not doing well, she has extreme nausea, and they can't get meds to help her! She still can't walk.
Best/Worse,what did I learned today? All welcome to join in
Prayers coming your way for both Steve and your sister LindaKay
drats a worry for sure! You must want to jump on the next plane..
Wish I could.
do you not make an annual trek to visit with them?
Not usually. Just when I feel like going! A trip may be in my near future, just don't know when?
Whoa, what a difference a few hours makes!
LindaK, thoughts are with Steve and your sister .. trust me, the meds used today for Atrial fibrillation are amazing, and, effective ..
Susan, all you can do now is sit back an take a deep breath and go forward .. you'll have lots of support from all of us ..
Dental cleaning was just peachy ( ikkk) the antibiotic I took prior to the cleaning has made my tummy topsy turvy .. had to take quite a bit ..
Otherwise, everything is a 'go' for picking up the new wheels tomorrow. Excited fer sure, wish I could drive it with a bubble around it LoL
Will make sure to take a pic or two with me in it ..
Off to peel some shrimp !!
Toodles
~M~
Thanks "M". Do you have heart problem? I ask because I have Mitral valve prolapse, and I have to take the antibiotics every time I see the dentist, even for a cleaning!
I'm thrilled I can take mine out to get them worked on lol
Haven't heard from Debbie all day, guess she is out putting miles on her new wheels
"M" tomorrow is your turn, exciting for sure.
LindaKay, do hope when you make the trip it will be for happier times..any more news?
No updates yet.
Betty, I needed new sneakers....so went shopping. LOL Just had to take the car up there!
Saved DH money, as I got a sweater, shirt & shoes....all for less than the shoes cost as I had
a coupon and what was on sale. LOL
I drove down the parkway....so I waved to Dianne while I was doing that also.
Morning everyone!
Debbie, glad to hear you got out shopping, and found a good deal!
"M", we will be waiting for pictures of that new car!
Susan, sure hope your next job is the perfect fit for you!
LindaK .. when you have a major joint (like my right hip) replaced, it is required you take a large dose of antibiotic prior to any dental work. As it was told to me by my surgeon .. and, I quote, "the mouth is like a sewer, full of bacteria".. ewe .. anyway, they don't want ANY of 'that stuff' getting into your system, cuz, if it's gonna go anywhere to stir up trouble, it'll be your weakest link, which would be , in my case, my hip.
At any rate, my stomach seems to have weathered that storm, next cleaning in next March.
Patiently waiting to dress and go to pick up the car .. also looking for my Bluetooth thingy so I'll be able to download the pics I take, dang lil gizmo is slippery as goose doo doo and slides away under things !!
Also curious to know if 'that gizmo' will work in the new car as it is Bluetooth friendly .. will have to have my salesman explain it all, IN DEPTH !!
Here's your laugh for the day .. walked into the kitchen this morning, DH says to me,.."How's Barrack'? I'm like ??? Seems I dreamt I was a body guard for Obama .. AND .. I was NOT happy that I had to go in an elevator to the 22nd floor with him .. the elevator was GLASS .. I am NOT happy with heights !! Anyway I was trying to talk Obama OUT of going in the elevator .. he just laughed .. DH that is .. I do this several times a month .. happily the conversations are funny (to everyone else) LoL
Take care everyone

You were talking in your sleep?
Hello All.
Just wanted to take a minute to say hello. And hope you are all doing well.
Mary and I finally got a chance to meet up. It was so good to see her.
Betty, thank you so much for the mushrooms. As soon as I find a good home in the garden for them I will post a picture. (((HUGS)))
Things are beginning to cool down some, so looking forward to being outside more.
Sending good thoughts and hugs to you all....and prayers for you and your loved ones.
Jean
Afternoon all,
Can you believe I'm still in my nighty, flitting from room to room doing little.
Jean, so nice to see you post and am thrilled you like your mushrooms..
Mary thanks for getting them to Jean!
"M". Too funny, you wouldn't make a good spy, you would be spilling the beans just a gabbing in your sleep. Guess by ow you've got new wheels
LindaKay how is Steve and your sister doing?
Debbie, never you mnd the parkway and waving, you should have crossed the border, Elvis tunes blaring!
Wanted to make a sandwhich but. Good Neil date was yesterday so that a no, might just call next door and get fries..
Hi Jean it is so good to see you post. I am sitting here listening to our Joe.
Betty I am not sure is Meaford is this weekend or next. It is usually the week before Thanksgiving but with Thanksgiving being a bit later this year maybe it is this weekend. I miss doing that show. Loved staying at the little Hilltop Motel.
Anxious to see your new ride M. I talk in my sleep too apparently. Quite the little blabber mouth then! My mam used to quiz me after I had gone to sleep to see what I had been up too. I was a little bit of a hellion but was very closed mouth about my activities so she resorted to questioning me while I was asleep.
Finished the wood yesterday. It is all stacked by the carport. I am positive with a supplement from fall on the property I will have 2 winters worth of wood. I will have to measure it and see how many bush cords there are out there. Chimney will be cleaned on Sat. so I will be ready for a fire if I need it. Some mornings I need a little pancake fire just to take the chill and dampness off - being right on the lake can make it quite chilly in October.
The pups and I are heading out - it is just too nice to be inside.
Dianne
Steve will be going home today. They finally got his heart to slow down. He has to take pills to keep it that way. Dr. said he has a protien deficiency that caused it.
My Sister is not doing any better. She is so nauseous and they can't find anything to help her. She still can't walk. Looks like she will be in rehab for awhile.
Jean so good to hear from you.
Hi everyone,
susan, Sorry the job did not work out. Job hunting is not fun but should be an improvement over the job you left. Please check in regualrly for support, hugs, etc.
I'm seeing my doctor this afternoon and will then head for home if all goes well. I'm still bummed about the two expensive and delaying van repairs but I can take my time going home.
I'm missing two packages. One will not arrive until next Tuesday, a week after they promised. The other was sent back because the company did not include the suite number in the strip mall where my mail service is. some days you can't win for losing. But if I get home without further car problems I'll be a happy camper. I have a battery for Tony and some paint for his ATV.
Neighbor Dana and her husband will be back in Mulege soon from their summer in Washington. She's usually quite upbeat and we are both dog people so I'm looking forward to her return.
Good news is that I'm able to see my doctor and my meds all got refilled
I'm counting my blessings through clenched teeth. lol. It's not really that bad but I'll be glad to get home.
hugs and prayers, katie
Dianne, Meaford is next weekend, weekend before out thanksgiving..always enjoy going as there is lots to do..I've grown accustomed to doing big sale at the candle factory, big tent carries so many decorative items cheap, good stocking stuffers, then it's the arts/craft buildings then on to the warehouse, always end up finding something I want and there goes a Saturday.
Melanie's bio mom and dad come from Meadord, still live in town so Mel spends the weekend while I do everything n ne night..like taking photo's of all the scarecrows hanging everywhere..perhaps one year you can visit and come with me.
LindaKay, great news about Steve..is your sister the one that cares for your dad?
Thanks for the support - it's more than the man of the house can give..... Would you believe, from Wed eve when I told him to now, he didn't even hug me or say anything about the job loss. He stayed up after I went to sleep, so I didn't even get the cuddle I like when we drift off to sleep.
Today he was going to head out to do an odd job for a friend/neighbour from the church and likely wouldn't have woken me up before leaving (letting me sleep in isn't bad, but his not even wanting to see me is....). Today I said to him "I'm hurting and you haven't even given me a hug since I told you). He said I'm having a bad time of it too - I'm 63 and not working. I told him, "it's not about you right now - I JUST lost my job on Wed. You've had since June to think it though". And ladies - he's not looking, either - at first, he was thinking they'd call him back, but on Aug 24 he realized they weren't. AND I told him today that he's never been told he's not good enough - I just did, and it really hurts. He gave me a long hug then. THEN he headed out to do the odd job, giving me the list of what we Should have done yesterday if I'd only gotten off my butt..... like a bit of grocery shopping for the Church Fall Supper tomorrow, fixing my tire (it went flat on Wed (yes, the day I got fired...... before I did) and he came to put a donut on it then went home on his bike.
Don't get me wrong - he's a wonderful guy and he does things for me that are great, great, great, but when I'm hurting...... forget it - he can't handle it so he ignores me.
MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm grateful for you ladies, my daughter and sisters in Winnipeg, etc - but when I need a hug to get over the hurt, it would be nice to have someone here.......
Well, he's left me a list, and I just put a 20lb turkey in the oven for tomorrow, it's Movie Night and I need to get the stuff in our car (popcorn maker etc), oh yeah, and get dressed, eat breakfast and have coffee (it's noon......)
btw - I just wanted ONE day off (thursday) to not have to deal with Anything.... was that so much?
Sorry to hear he is acting like that Susan. Some men just don't know how to handle stressful situations.
Sending you big (((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))
Katie sorry to hear about your van problems. Praying for your safe trip home.
HUGE hugs for all who need them (who doesn't) ^_^
Sorry to hear you're feeling let down by hubby Susan, but, I really do think Men ARE from Mars!!
Katie, safe journey back home, it'll be nice to have neighbour Dana back for company.
LindaK .. yay for Steve being dicharged .. hopefully he'll be able to address the protein deficiency.
Crystal Gale sang a song called 'You've been talking in your sleep' ... I'm not a C&W fan, but, I liked that song. I do tend to blab away, apparently most of the time it doesn't make sense, but, last night I was having an evening with Barrack .. last month I had a conversation with someone named 'Bernice', no idea who she is .. at least my 'chats' are humorous LoL
Car is home and in the garage , have pics of it still on the cellphone, unfortunately, no ME in any of them .. yet .. I had to run into the house to use the BRoom, and Lorna put it in the garage before it started raining here.
Quite the car, now know how to set up and use Bluetooth, the back up screen is, well OK .. I find using my EYES to look back to be a bit better .. just so many little things that are new .. have the book inside to read, and, MAYBE 'learn something' LoL
Will post the pics later once I download them .
Toodles

Download an app called dropbox on your phone and computer. Pictures you take with your phone will automatically go to both places. I also have it on my iPad. I really love it because you don't have to download pictures anymore.
I'll have to try that Linda, thanks. I have just sat here downloading and saving 2 cellphones full of pics !!
I'll do 5 .. Lorna saying BYE to the Rav this morning, the NEW car at home, some pics of this years flpwers, Impatiens, Spirea And, my Wild Virginia Creeper, I dug it up, and through it out back in our back woods, it took and is now, after 3 years alive and well and ON FIRE :-)
Here goes ..
~M~
Back from town, talk about eventful
Susan, my heart aches for you, not an easy situation you are in then add in no sympathy at all, well it's just not nice. You have always been supportive when Bob was laid off and managed to pull things together and so should he. Am hoping when he gets home tonight he shows you some tlc which you deserve...men!!!
"M" one needs a college degree to use all the features that come with new vehicles..saw Darlene's back up camera and thought how neat it was..bought back up systems for Jeff and Greg for Christmas one year, don't think they ever connected them.
As I left town to go into Midland saw n rear view mirror Melanie driving the spider, thought good for her!
Went and paid for the new washroom counter top, yikes, worth more than the house...lol
Then off to fabric store, managed to get some fabric which I needed for the birdhouse blocks then thought I'd drop n to Juanita's Sew and Serge, no sooner walked in they said my machine was fixed, oh happy days, maybe..man perhaps my age who repairs them was there, showed me the power unit he took off, all burnt, then told me that the light had been replavpced and just shoved in, it too needed to be replaced..told me it sure wasn't a new machine...
We chatted a bit, told him it fits well on the grace frame but cording is too short, he winked and told me he would make me one, went shhhhh don't tell anyone. Apparently husqvarna is the only machine the speed control will not fit on
Nice to have it home but I'm intimidated by it, not sure I want to give it a try incase it doesn't work.
Dropped n to see Greg at work, told him I saw Mel on the spider, told me to stop smilling, off to Meaford she was going for the weekend...
Factory rec told him to take on out of the showroom for the weekend so he would quit crying the blues. Lol
Drove over to Factory Rec and gabbed with Noah a bit...he showed me his new dirt bike, it's a beauty, bright green..he told me his dad was bringing him to Meaford tomorrow after he finishes work so that he and a friend could do the trails..I asked if his friend had a dirtbime, no he didn't but Charlie his grandfather will let the friend use his atv so I left after saying hi to Kyle and seeing Noah to come home
Now I had planned on picking up supper in Midland then at last minute decided just to get groceries at Foodland.
Now here is where the Lord stepped in..
I was at the meat counter getting meet and under the counter was premade scalloped potatoes and Mac &cheese..woman saw me looking at scalloped potatoes and we started to talk about precooked foods..said her husband died two years ago and she finds cooking dor one a chore, said I was on my own as well
Got to out cars and chat/chat/chat
Asked how long she had lived the the area, turns out I knew her husbands family, went to school with one of Thais sisters.
Talked about working, get this
She specializes in youth addictions, takes in private patients as well as those doctor's send through health care system..we talked forever about Noah, she asked if I would talk to Mel and Greg and see if she could meet Noah
What do you think?
And yes I kow of the agencies she works for..
Said she will drop in for tea one day..got her number
We hugged when I left, she was ever so nice
Sharp wheels "M"
Will it be as easy for Lorna getting in and out of the vehicle?
Look at those fall colors..much brighter than our, our coloring is more on bright yellow/orange.
So much excitement that I've got a headache, off to take something and just might turn that sewing machine on
Betty you better give your son her number. Sounds like she can do wonders for Noah.
"M" I love your new car. And it has plates already? It takes two weeks to get plates here. Love your flowers too, and your home and yard is beatiful.
I just bought these curved bricks and petunias. Got tired of no color in the yard. As you can tell we have no grass anymore. The heat this summer burner up everything.
LindaKay, will surely let them know..she says if insurance doesn't cover her fees she charges $60/hr which I think is reasonable..am sure the lord led her my way!
Can't imagine what it would be like having no grass
I'd be buying green paint and spray painting the earth..
Here lindaKay we remove our plates and use them on the next vehicle or we get new p,ages right away, same day service and can turn in older plates for refund on unused portion of the year. Our renewal date is the month of our birthdays
"m" did you see where we can now get our sticker or renewal confirmation via Internet..only time we shall have to go in is for ooto's and tests
Todd likes your idea of the green paint!
Betty if I were you I would contact the place you bought your machine with a detailed list of all that was wrong with your macine and demand a refund. Tell them you did not get a new machine you paid for!
Will do, just want to make sure it's working because if it doesn't work after a day or so of sewing, watch out!! Lol
Just took meds, having hot chocolate and thanks to you LindaKay, marshmallows as well
Linda will likely be here around 7:30 am so best I get a good nights rest.
Bob came home from helping friend with her fence, and I was grumpy, so he was too. He got some coffee, and went right back to her place....... just hours before we had to go to the church for movie night.....
I called her house (he didn't take his cell) and spoke to him like nothing happened (only way to talk to a man......) and he did the same. He came home and has been "nice as pie" ever since.
Anyway - only on for a bit, cuz I have those curtains to sew for the church - only 3 narrow ones, so it's easy enough. Making some turkey gravy - a WHOLE lot of it lol
Morning all,
Linda will be here shortly, long day ahead with helping her quilt so thought I'd take an hour to just sit..can't tell you what kind of day it will be weather wise as its still pitch black outside!
Susan, glad that things settled down for you..enjoy your turkey meal..
I asked both boys which day is best for Thanksgiving dinner, imagine, only two weeks away..
We are downstate for a 50th birthday party for our daughters best friend since they were babies. She's been like one of ours since her parents passed. Hubby even stood in for her dad at her wedding.
Also hope to shop for my dress for grandson's wedding, better store choice down here. Rather liked that I can go online at stores and preview what's available. I'd really prefer a beating to going dress shopping, but it needs to be done and out of the way.
Stopped in Frankenmuth on the way down, kept remembering meeting Betty & Linda and others here last Oct. Bought a few ornaments to go with tree skirt for wedding shower gift. Let hubby hit the sausage shops while I was playing in Bronners.
Wow Betty, your story re meeting that Lady in the store and striking up a conversation and then discovering what she does is just awesome .. some things are just meant to be, or, everything happens for a reason !!
LMAO @ Silio .. I fer sure would rather drink DRAINO than DRESS shop!!! Add to that the 'slip fiasco' (I had a hecuva a time finding a SLIP) and then, the ever popular PANTYHOSE !!
I wish you all the best .. I do my clothes shopping ONLINE and love it !!!
Busy weekend (what else is new) .. laundry, rendering pumpkin for pies, going to a Pumpkinfest in our little village, then off to our D IN L parents SURPRISE 40th wedding Anniv.
Happily my hip is feeling not too bad as long as I am MOVING and not sitting for more than half an hour .. AND ... bring out the brass band ... I am able to wear REAL SHOES!!! As in heels, it has been about 9 months or MORE since I could do that ...
Hugging everyone, and, wishing you MAJOR happiness all day
Toodles
~M~
Omg, is it really evening time??
Linda and I started sewing at 7:30 am and JUST finished the black white queen size quilt..machine worked like a charm however the light kept flicking, this week I'll bring it in when they get the lightbulb and replace it..in the meantime as its flickering I'll see if perhaps its just ot fully pushed in.
I am one tired girl, was a lot quilting it in one day..Linda went home a happy camper..got a hug and told I'm the best, can't get better than that,
She did call home though and found out that her neighbors, best friends were dog sitting their sons lab, guess they forgot a gate open, when they noticed the dog was running away from them, down to the ravine..didn't the man get his foot caught in a tree root, my BIL Dave and 3 other people had to go down and bring him up and to emerge..he is a big man and did not was 911
Guess Linda will have more news after she gets home!
Karen you are worse than I for travelling, you are always on the road..awwww Frankenmuth, hmmm
Fun shopping, hooe you find just the right dress.
I also am not a clothes shopper
"M don't overdo, nice flat shoes for you, perhaps runners should be worn for a bit.
Have my black/white quilt beside me, need to hand sew border but you kow I think I've sewn enough..might keep it for the office Monday..
Need to finish the 5' scarecrow tomorrow
Tired so might just close my eyes for a bit!
Home again, home again and happy at that ..
A very nice afternoon, nice salads and meat trays, and, of course cake LoL
Have 2 pics .. took many more, but, theses 2 are most meaningful I guess ..
The group pic is of the grandkids with both sets of grandparents .. the Armstrongs to the left (their 40th Anniv), and, Gordon and I to the right .. my cane is behind granddaughter Brooklyn, looks kinda odd LoL
Other pic is DH and myself .. hmmmmmmm .. starting to look alike ..
I did wear a wedged heel, and did OK, but, didn't have to get up at all except for pics and to leave.
You've had a productive day Betty ^_^
Having a glass of wine and downloading the pics .. have looked up DROPBOX Linda K .. will give it a better boo when I get more time, looks good though.

Success found an outfit for the wedding, not a dress but pretty top and long skirt, what I was hoping I'd find, preferable to a dress. Have the shoes and a dress purse so all set.
Need to see if hubby can find my jewelry box so I can find a necklace to wear. I always wore an oval diamond solitaire on a gold chain, but I gave it to grandson to have an engagement ring made for his lady.
Each of the girls got an inch of pearls when they were born and an inch added every birthday until they are 17. At that time I added a nice clasp and they got their pearls to keep. So far each has been married in her pearls as were my daughters in the ones my mom got them. I wanted to do something special for the boys too. I have given each of them a piece of jewelry to use the stones for a ring. One got the marquise solitaire that was my moms. Another I gave my old wedding set as I had worn through the band and got a new ring. I still have a few more pieces to give out as the occasion arises. They and their wives to be loved the new rings and I feel a bit of me will live on. I've never had really significant jewelry but I'm so glad it will continue to be enjoyed.
YAY Silio for finding the outfit .. bet it'll look just awesome .. I have a long black skirt 'somewhere' in my closet ... truth be told, since I got 'sick' a year ago, I rarely go into my closet, seems i stayed home all the time, so, no need, but, now i am on the prowl (so to speak)
I have handed off my Mom's wedding rings and family ring to my granddaughter .. I had them cleaned and repaired and placed on a gold chain .. she'll get my rings at a later date.
PIE DAY here .. have rendered down one pie pumpkin, it will make 2 pies .. but, only ONE today as I have bunches of apples to deal with .. one made to be cooked and eaten, and ? to be made and fozen .. gotta love having apple trees AND apple peeler/corers ^_^
Am thinking I MIGHT have the beginnings of a cold :-(
Voice is kinda husky and I feel kinda sniffly .. fingers crossed it'll go bye bye !!
Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday ..
~M~
Actually Marilynne, had I had my head about me, I could have just bought the skirt, I have tops very similar to what I bought. I probably only get that dressed up once in 5 years. I'm just not a dress up sort if I can hang out in jeans it suits me just fine.
I have 15 grands so I try to spread things out as evenly as I can. The first 10 are all grown so they are the ones I'm sure of what to give them as the time comes. Just when it seemed I had all the grands I was going to get, Oldest daughter had two more and oldest son adopted three. Kind of fun having little ones again. Well not little any more but teens.
