She's about to... 70! Fall is in the air!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just wanted to let you all know that Susie called a bit ago, she and 65,000 others in Michigan are with out power after the storms went through. She has a gas stove, so she can keep warm that way, but has no electricity. She hopes to have a generator soon if her brother Jim can find one. Otherwise she has been told it may be Thursday before power is restored.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

DIL had been told Tues. evening and theirs is back on.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Hoping everyone gets their lives back in order soon, I just can't imagine.. So very sad...

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes, it's tough without power when the weather is cold. Nice here today but definitely cooler.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi Friends, So glad all are safe after the storm. I do hope Kitty will find it's way home soon.
Can any of you imagine having to evacuate and leave your four footed children behind? I honestly thing the law would have to physically lift me and take me away from my Snese. That boy is my little heart, a spoiled brat that controls me like no other. He trained and is still training me exactly like he wants me..lol and I love it.

Linda Kay, Thank you so much for the Angel postage + and dear lady, I owe you. Do I have any Angels that you still want? Will be glad to send them.

Jordan, I will try to get your med. box in the mail this Thurs.

Thank you all for your kind words about my yard, I work hard in it and love it when I'm told it's pretty. It really is pretty, wish you could come see all the different location flower beds. On the other side of the fence, Hen & Chick Pen at end, and then the length of the fence flower bed has 3 Angels, 1 pink hibiscus, lol, a bottle tree made from a coat rack turned upside down and shortened, Lily Trees, Asiatic Lily's, Daylilies and Iris. Small table with 2 chairs. In another section of the same bed, on this side of fence(inside back yard) more Hen & Chicks under a Holly Tree,, many lilys, 2 miniature white roses, Iris, several small noid bush type plants. This takes us to the corner to a White Weeping Japanese Cherry Tree, more Iris, birdbath, Jacobs hook holding a chandelier made into solar lights, under chandelier is a small bistro table. Dahlias, Iris, Daylilies Hen & Chicks, noid blue grasses, gosh wow! I hope it looks better than it sounds. anyway that is just the yard side of the fence. Two more beds + Hen & Chicks under 2 Red leaf Maples in the back yard.
LOL, you wouldn't believe the front yard.
Love to all
Faye

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Faye, if I ever get to a better climate I will surely be bugging you for a share of your beautiful flowers. We are in northern MI now and in the woods with sand sand sand, so I can grow Hostas and Lily of the valley but that's about it except for a few house plants.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Faye your yard sounds beautiful.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Yes, it does sound so beautiful, I just gotta see it someday ( now that idea is in my bucket list)

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thank you, dahtzu. I went out calling and calling for kitty and when I turned around to come back in, there he sat under the carport. I'm not sure he ever went very far. I carried him inside where he took a look around and then got up on the end of our bed where he usually sleeps. He was there for 24 hrs without getting up - no eating, no purring when petted. He looked like be traumatized. I don't see any apparent injuries so I'll keep an eye on him today and see what happens. He did jump down from the bed awhile ago and sniffed the food but still not eating. Very strange behavior. Our vet isn't very far away if I need to take him over there, but I hate to put him in his carrier and take him since he hates it. Doesn't need anymore trauma.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Glad he is home safe and sound, Carole. Off to take a daughter to her surgery.. going to be a long day.

So glad Susie you weren't hurt physically by the storm, and hope repairs will be minor.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Fallen trees make nice firewood. Glad your ok Susie.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

My daughter in Lansing area still has no power. They do have a fireplace for heat but can't cook, no lights or water.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ugh. I'm glad they have some source of heat.

dahtzu, all the brugs you sent have sprouted! I have them in the house to move to the basement until I can plant them out next spring. :) Since I'm zone 7a, I don't think I want to plant them out right now. I do zone push but not until plants are established.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Cville, I would wait until frost danger is over before planting in the ground. I ,have my cuttings planted in small pots inside the garage and will plant last of April or early May. Hope they all will live sand bring you much pleasure.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I will. They are all safe in a pot right now and will be moved into the garage ahead of the cold weather that's on the way.

:)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ignore the weather, have fun with your family.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't come to Texas. It is only 39 here today.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ugh. It's supposed to go down into the low 20s here sometime this weekend.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

faye, thanks so much for the plants

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our temp. range today is 2 degrees from a low of 20 to a high of 22.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

gonna get to 26 here tonite. way to cold for November in alabama

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I know it is weird to see you all reporting our temps, here we are used to it.. I would be crying if I lived in the southern areas and had these temps.. BRRR
But we just put on our thermals, sweats and turtle necks and trudge onwards. Bleah.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Not me spending the day in my jammies.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'm still in my jammies, too! tarted cleaning for the holidays, vacuum keeps losing suction, and I really don't want to spend money on a new one right now. this one isn't even a year old

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like the hose is clogged?

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I got two drawers cleaned out today ! YAY! LoL

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Happy cold morning everyone. It is 16 deg. here and boy was that cold this morning at 5:30 when I walked my four footed sons. Sure will be glad when we get a heat wave of at least 50 so I can start outside Christmas decorating. I usually do it Thanksgiving week-end.

Kathy, a great big thank you for the postage + and I will share with you any plant cuttings I have.

Stay warm, well and happy my friends.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Faye. It is cool here, but my 40 degrees sounds warm to your 16!
Stay warm!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Well just pulled off a once in a life time Thanksgiving dinner. A small gathering of 42 of my closest relatives! I had sooo much fun, I am still just the happiest person around! Wish I could bottle this feeling.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving this week.
