We are always willing to keep you company Betty at any time you want us to do so. Our prayers continue for you and your family. Praying Noah has calmed down a bit. Glad you have things there to keep you busy. But then - there are ALWAYS things there to keep you busy.
I got a strange envelope in the mail yesterday afternoon. It was an envelope addressed to you that I had mailed July 30th. It was returned to me as "unclaimed" and I'm assuming it went to your PO at the same time you were traveling to New Orleans. Anyway it was marked return to sender on Aug 23 and I received it yesterday Sept 20th. What is wrong with this picture??? Two months????? It is your birdhouse block and I will mail it again. If I get it out this coming week it will still be within the deadline and here I thought I did so good getting them out early.....
Mary, it sure sounds like things are progressing nicely. Any opening date yet?
Off to watch Brandon in a horse show today. Hoping it isn't too dusty so I can stay for a while. Will try to remember the camera!
Hope you all have a wonderful day. ~~~ to all.
Best/Worst I learned today, chat with NEW & OLD friends :-)
I'm baffled Betty, I guess the prosecutor thinks the hospital report wasn't concise enough and he is reluctant to put a three year old on the stand so it sits in limbo. However, for what it's worth, the children have not been back to their father's and he hasn't said a word about it. Nor has he asked about them.
We call our Molly, a lab/golden mix, the coward of the county. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old and she has been given nothing but love. Yet she hides at the least noise from outside. Even the garbage truck clear on the other side of the lake sends her into her cubby. She will bark at the door but when it is actually opened, off she goes again. The funniest is it takes 4 people to hold her to take her temp. and she never but never lets another dog do the get acquainted sniff. Hubby even has a hard time combing her out on her backside. Absolutely no clue what that is about.
As was predicted we had very low temps last night. The furnace came on at about 1am and every half hour or so thereafter.
Young couple way acrosss the way from us had their annual 'PUMPKIN PARTY', they were pumpin out the tunes until someone in the vicinity must have either driven over or called and asked them to tone it down .. I really don't mind, they only 'cut loose' once a year .. and for good reason .. the members of this 'club' grow GIGANTIC pumpkins, well in excess of 600 pounds .. have included a pic of former years.
Piper, our wee Westie boy came to his us and his 'forever home' at 8 weeks, and, as Betty might remember, he was TERRIFIED of the collar ! He would run and hide, took us almost 2 months to get him semi used to it, even at the age of 3yrs (now) he gets a bit antsie if it's REMOVED, say for a bath .. he cowers under the bed when we try to put it back on ...
Always have wondered if his head got caught while he was with the breeder, really don't even wanna go there. Dianne ,, Lilly, our gurl .. tries to EAT the vacuum (along with horrendous growls) when it gets switched on .. and, the lawnmower is ENEMY #1 !!! LoL
Good luck Miss Martha .. I loved Romper Room !!! BUT, not the shredding ..
Kyle sure is watching out for you Betty, wonderful to hear ^_^
Where does Noah work? I'd be afraid to let him out of my sight I think.
Guess I sent the rain your way ..we gor an INCH over 5 hours !!! AND, since the storm I can't send texts ! So, that's job one today, getting that looked after, seems it's the only way I stay in touch with the fam !!
Mary, scary but EXCITiNG re DH submitting his resignation .. your adventure is about to go into high gear !! All the very best to you both ..
LindaKay, any news re Steve?
LAST day for the 'company' .. have to admit I am wearing out ..
Hope you all have a splendiferous day, stay well and safe ..
Toodles
~M~
Morning everyone. As of yesterday afternoon Steve was moved from ICU to a regular room for the weekend. They are still waiting on lab results. He was told no work for two weeks.
wow, now wouldn't I love that pumpkin on my lawn for decoration..let's see how many pumpkin pies could I make out of it lol
"M" same with young couple across the street, they have one humdinger of a party once a year, I never complain that it goes on all night, only young once, glad to see them all enjoy..they set up in the field, many bring tents, more a family venue, games of all kinds then after midnight it's adult time, because I can park quite a few cars in my yard they always ask
if they can use it..yep, ok with me.
rain just stopped, put a quilt on the frame and thinking of going to see if I can find fall totes, even Ms. Noseworthy for front door, give me something to do that I enjoy and I do like season decorating.
Sneezing like crazy, sure hope I'm not coming down with a cold.
Noah works where Kyle works at a high end snowmobile/motorcycle/boat etc which is called Factory Rec. they love Kyle, doing all they can to have him leave college and stay with them, Kyle is not going for it, said after college if he still wants to then he will..because Kyle only has limited hours for work on his part, they would have him working 10 hrs a day that they are short handed and were trying to have Noah do some of Kyle's work, good pay so he goes in with Kyle and comes home with Kyle..
Noah still is acting up, being watched every minute, was trying to put a lock on his door, says it's his private sanctuary, Mel put a stop to that Kyle said and she ended up in her room crying all evening Thursday.
Noah says he will run away, Greg said go for it, see how that worked out in your favor the last 2 times...police had a talk with Noah and tried to scare the beejeebers in him but doesn't seem to work but they as well told Greg/Mel in front of them that they will be watching Noah and checking up on him a few times a day, principle and teachers to report a few times a day to make sure he is in school so all are trying.
LindaKay, now to find out what happened to Steve so they can prevent it from happening again.
Love that quilt pattern Betty. Your "wall of paint" just blows me away.
Noah needs to be told if he tries to put a lock on his door, the door will be removed. Trust must be earned and so far he's in the hole on that one.
I did that to Jeff when he was a teen..worked!
They are torn between being too strict, hard decision to make
W5 is I believe showing segment tonight at 10 on teen suicide..1 in 10 will try and too many of them succeed..will try to watch it and yet not sure I want to..will tell Greg and Mel it's on..
Lordy, on the other wall from the paints in the photo is a large cupboard filled with boxes and boxes to pick from..should really get back to painting
I had ceramic and porcelain paints like that. I finally gave them away as they were drying out and I didn't know when I would get back to them. LOL funny what you think you just have to have and then just use a tiny dab and put it up.
Betty, I love that quit!
Dr.'s told Steve this happens quite a bit. Seems he had a virus in his body, and it went to his heart.
Goodness LindaKay, a virus..
Listened to a documentary on the way to work re the super bug that they are having problems trying to beat..dr was saying as much as possible not to take antibiotics because it kills much of what is needed to fight this bug..gave numbers on estimated deaths in USA and based on our population numbers vs that of USA they say about 2,600 Canadian will die this year from this super bug.
Is there meds he will be able to take? He is a lucky man! Sorry to hear about your sister but am glad your dad is doing so well.
Karen the girls still come to paint once a week and I'm sure the minute I give them away that is the day I will need them. Actually looked through all the primitive pieces I have here unfinished and found one that will be perfect so paints are out..matter of paint a bit, let it dry, paint a bit, let it dry, anything to fill in time. Lol
My problem is those are acrylics, I moved on to genesis, chalk, pencil and watercolor so unless I'm doing primitive they are of no value

Those superbugs are unbelievable!! One of those is what my mom got in the hospital following her surgery...which was successful..Superbug.....devastating. Took 6 different antibiotics cocktail to bring her through (6 weeks of up and down) and then she was left in the condition she was in for 3 long years. They are scary indeed.
Yep, just a virus that was going around, and he picked it up. They have pumped him full of antibiotics for it, as it is his heart, and they don't want it to come back!
It is amazing how sick you can become while in the hospital! So many germs!!!
Betty...My goodness, My arms are wide open. As other's I too know how and feel what you are going through.
I can't tell you all how to go about getting Noah help, sounds like Mel and Greg are trying with all their might to find the right facility.
What I do want you to know is how proud I am of your efforts to be there for all the turmoil your family and friends are going through at this time. I am so glad that you are coming to the thread here for some moral support of just listening and offering some advise...We love YOU Betty.
I wish that I could take all the pain away from your aching heart, I can so understand your wanting to keep busy, you need that, for me it was pulling weeds.
For all of you, Keep the Faith, Keep the Faith, there is nothing that stands in the way of the Lord, the Creator's Love.
Remember above all, when you just can't deal with things any longer, Hand it over to him, trust me He is listening...
I've mentioned this book several times here and I see it's time to mention it again and I am BEGGING You and Mel and Greg to purchase and Read, reread again....I swear by this book, and I can testify truthfully and honestly that it is worth the read and it really does work! I highly recommend every Parent read it.
I actually even looked it up on the internet so i can get the title straight.
Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T) by Thomas Gordan "Dr. Gordon". (Maybe Dianne has read it?)
For Greg and Melanie, Keep strong, You will get through this too, Keep your views and options open and Remember your love and support for Each other, that's what will get you through this craziness together.
All I could think is "something" has happened to him, remind him daily you love him and he can tell you absolutley anything, if at all possible take him away for a bit, the surrounding maybe part of the problem.
And for the hard part, Basically, you start over, he does too, When i had to do this, I thought of it as in life starts with nothing, everything from this point on he/they must earn and the first is the trust. Somewhere along the way it has gone astray. Mel and Greg must keep together on this, "kids" WILL work them against each other, it's just a natural thing for them to try, Constant communication is of the essence of Importance.
I know this is not an easy path to go, in fact it is probably the one of the hardest hurdles to get through, not only does it affect him, it affects everyone...But guess what Betty, the very fact he is acting out, is his way of pleading for help, he just doesn't realize it yet.
Get the book...Read it!!
Reminder, Daily prayer, communication, openess, above all LOVE each other, say it and mean it several times a day...
Well, i didn't mean to get into sermon mode or anything.
Betty, I tried to call.
Waiving hello to all, Will try and get back in a little bit...
Judy
Betty, you have two new boxes here! My car will be full for you Tuesday!!!
I will open and take pictures later if you like. Paul and I are heading out for a bit.
Debbie
Evening,
Drats had a bad headache, was sleeping only to wake when Kyke came in..saw you called Judy, thanks..phone was downstairs and I never heard it. Lovely post, I will go in search of the book.
Kyle is going to Collngwood to see the truck pulls but we will go for bite to eat first, not far, just next door then back to bed I go..
Chilled
Of course Kyle had news
He said Greg and Mel went out for supper last night and are off to Barrie for supper tonight..need some time together, glad of that
Noah is at his girlfriends for the evening, he seems calm when she's around.
Here comes the part I'm, I'm I'm I'm ..don't know
Noah when I visited with him the first evening I was allowed to said his only interest is and what makes him happy is when he is dirt biking, told him I'd help him save
Big sigh, double big sigh
Greg and Mel went and bought him at $4,500 dirt bike in hopes it helps
Grrrrrrrr
Who am I to have a thought on this, I'll not provide them with my thoughts
Kyle is rarely wrong when he tells you a story but today I'm hoping he is wrong!
Oops Kyle is back, went to get a jacket for tonight's festivities
I sure hope someone told the girlfriend of his situation. Sometimes girlfriends, or friends can enable them and make things worse.
Sure hope your not getting sick. Make sure you take some vitamin C.
She and her parents are aware..mind boggling
Quick pizza now taking meds and off to bed
Lordy shoulder is doing me in, stress playing havoc with it
Night night
Oh My God!! are you kidding??? Demand they take that back! What ya mean who are you to have say....you are Mom, Grandma and i think have every say in the rearing of those kids.
Never mind i have got to go pull some weeds, while i wrap my head around this.
Ps...think of it as guiding your son in the right direction, and not biting my tongue, buying the kid a $4,000 + toy just aint gonna help anything, so yes say something about it!!
Grrr...ing with you.
Oh Dear Betty, The very last thing he needs is a nice expensive gift. Boy that sure shows him the consequences of his actions.
Sadly grandma's don't have a say. I know I didn't want any one telling me how to raise mine and I try hard to keep my nose out with the grands and greats, not always successful but I do try.
I'm sorry...it just gives him wheels to take off....and rewards him for being bad. He is playing
them big time.
NOT right....not at all. They are teaching him to be bad and reward for it. "IF I do this...my parents will get me XXXX"
Hello To All;
Visited FIL in ICU again today.... he is more responsive. Hoping to move him to room Monday.
Betty .... Kyle has a special bond with you. I can not believe the news Re: Noah. I don't know if I've already said this but my meetings with the Substance Abuse clinics.... BOTH of them said their "customers" come from the "BEST" Schools.... NOT the poor areas... because of the entitlements that those kids get.
It hurt me because I know I always had major guilt where DS was concerned and threw things at him to make up for it. NOW.... having been through the court system and all...he is doing better but not at the level I would love....
BARB (HUGS) Grandkids are doin you proud. we are in the process of building out..... LOL Marilyn 600 pd pumpkin..yes a good party there...
LK Hope Steve recovers quickly
Silio... we removed DS's door PROM his senior year I believe it is still gone.
It's a great punishment for teens.....
He is 21 now and still its gone.... looks terrible but I've no rush to get it replaced....
DS is doing better but IMHO is still SO immature.
HUGS
Mary
Morning all,
Found it hot yesterday afternoon, went back to playing with the heat register, woke up cold. Brrr 1st day of fall and does it feel like it..don't know how many times Roger would tell me he would put a lock on it. Lol
So now warming up before I head downstairs, always on the cool side.
I see more and more that I'm not the only one going through or having gone through what my family now faces..your prayers/concers are felt.
Debbie I'm sad to say that Julie will not be meeting up on Tuesday but I do hope we can, know you have a lot on your plate, if you are unable to this time not to worry, another time will do.
Mary, bet you are breathing easier seeing improvement with your FIL, may he soon be home.how is your mil coping? Still not sure what Greg and Mel's intentions are with this dirt bike, am sure somewhere in their minds they think they are helping..next I speek with them
I'll find out I guess...there is always Kyle misunderstanding Greg looking at the dirt bike..
Mary glad your young one is turning around....hugs
Will Lance be spending his days at the store overseeing the work?
Forgot to ask "M" how did the fish fry go?
Betty, as of right now, I WILL be there Tuesday. Christmas tree shop or elsewhere to meet?
Christmas Tree shop is always good, we can eat at IHOP or if you know of somewhere else that has a good breakfast or if you prefer to meet for lunch Sharon and I will be in that area
(fabric shops galore).
Happy Fall y'all
went in the back shed, been promising myself to do so all week..managed to find a few pieces but too dark to read which totes are fall
did find Ms. Noseworthy and the witch is in/out
Hey Judy do you have your Ms. Noseworthy hanging out, if not go find her..it's fall u'know
always exciting opening totes to see what treasures you've collected over the years
Just realized, my brother Bernie's birthday today, best I call, not this early though
Love the witches Betty!!! I have one similar and she is out now too!! Along with my Count Monkula that Cher make for me... I'll try to get pictures today.
I'm a bit confused regarding the dirt bike. Did they buy it or just look at it? I agree too with the others who feel that is rewarding Noah for bad behavior. He has put his family - all of you - through HE-- and doesn't deserve any treats. They should be earned not just given.
Glad to hear you and Debbie are still going to meet up. I think both of you need that time together and it will do you both the world of good. Just wish I could be there too!!!!
Betty did you see my post above about your birdhouse block? Do you want me to remail to Canada or send to Debbie? I know it won't get to Deb's before Tuesday.
Happy FALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoa, where did summer go? Can almost betcha the next 6 months won't go by as quickly.
The salmon was a huge hit. Cooked it whole in the oven, served with fresh garden veggies .. I was a bit nervouse as I usally cook fillets, but, surprised myself.
AHhhhhhhhh, the 'remove the bedroom door trick', worked for us too :-)
Told Murray, that we were paying the mortgage, feeding him and clothing him AND giving him spending money .. so .. if he couldn't keep his room tidy, we would let the world in .. he still remained 'Mr Slob', but, we at least knew what was goin on in there.
Funny, he's turned into such a wonderful man, kids of his own, AND, 'Mr NEATNIK' !
Never even considered 'rewarding' his bad behaviour..in fact, we took his ATV away for a month more than once, course that was then, things must be more difficult now.
I have some 'dollar store' Fall pretties to put up, just have to figure where they are LoL
Mary, do so hope your FinL will improve on a new unit, ICU was/is always dubbed 'the timeless unit', poor patients don't know the time of day let alone the day of the week OR month ..
LindaKay .. prayers for Steve .. good he's young ..
I am off to clean out the fridge, amazing the flotsam and jetsom that has crept into it over the week! Hate throwing OUT stuff, but, that's gotta happen.
Take care all
Toodles
~M~
Amen, Judy!! Hugs to you, Betty, know Mel and Greg are so confused...been there, too.
You seem to be coping and I'm truly happy about that. Just keep praying and being there. all you can do at this point.
I'm supposed to tell you that if you decide another Frankenmuth trip should happen that Sherry and Kathy would love to come up and see you! Me, too! Can't spend a long time away from Bill, but a day or two would be okay. He has had several tests. We go in about 10 days for results. His coumadin is finally doing well. 2.6 for two times in a row. Doesn't have to be tested again for a month. FINALLY!
Mary, I'm wishing you much luck with your new venture. Hope it becomes everything you want it to be. Gosh it sure sounds yummy!!
LK, praying for Steve. Hope they get that under control.
Barb, hope you're getting settled in. Won't be long until it is truly "home" to you.
Debbie, have lots of fun with Betty. I know you will, you two ALWAYS do! Just don't use the GPS and you girls will be fine....
We got 3 1/2 inches of rain Thursday. Everything looks so happy! I've been spending every day working on weeds in and by the pathways. Geesh is that slow going. I should have taken before pictures...cause then the after pictures would be so much more appreciated! Okay, off to work on the pathes again!
Love to you all.
Calling it a night, packed up what I need for my trip tomorrow, have the boxes I need for mailing out by the door..Kyle will spend the night so the kitties and be let in/let out and fed.
Nice that he's of that age.
worked hard on the quilt top I put on the frame last night..binding is on so now I have something to pass the day tomorrow
Thought about not taking a lunch and leaving at 3:30pm,,it's better than 1 1/2 to get to Sharon's then almost 2 to Buffalo..
Guess a good nights rest is in order
night/night everyone
Have a good time Betty.
Betty what time do you want to meet on Tuesday??? Just tell me when and where.
Betty So glad you are getting away for a little fun... well deserved...
Yes - Betty Lance gave 2 weeks notice... they will probably use him for both weeks but we will find out tomorrow.
He has been working fingers to the bone re-finishing those chairs he got for $5 each... booths he found... pricing equipment etc.....He met up with BIL/Electrician at the "Space" today and realized he did not do the layout correctly.
I had anticipated that.... we were too cheap/poor to go with an architect but I think his mistake will be easily fixed but since he is a perfectionist... he will beat himself up over it....
"Timeless unit" Marilyn you hit nail on the head.... FIL was so restless today I did not go up there to witness it but trying to pull tubes out and such.... they had to sedate him /restrain him last night.... Thanks Joyce ! We finally got some rain (Thank goodness) so could try to weed a bit... sun came out a bit today but I was trying hard to learn Quickbooks....
Can't believe it is FALL/AUTUMN even though it was actually cool this afternoon....
I'm hoping to get out to Jean/Moonie Thursday but haven't asked her if that day works yet... I have an appt near her then....
Witchy reared her ugly head last week and I'm hoping she isn't resurfacing to cause me trouble....
HUGS to all and hoping you are having happy times...
Mary
I have not been able to post because Noah has brought up some many painful memories of my deceased nephew and I did not want to scare you.
If you want to know all the details Betty, you know how to reach me. Have a great trip and be safe.
It has been very windy here so I stayed inside today and putting away some laundry. That is when ADHD, OCC or whatever kicked in and took over. I started to put things away in DH's drawers and discovered they were to full already. I had purchased him some new long sleeve pullovers. He thinks his arms are to thin to wear short sleeved shirts.
I was cleaning out DH's drawers because they are packed with clothes he no longer wears. Opened a drawer and it is totally full of beautiful ties. Can you use them for a quilt. They are from Neiman's or Nordstroms. I will send you a photo by D-Mail.
Also had a drawer full of dress socks. Only needs a few pair. I have the rest going to Goodwill.
Have a great trip, be safe and I wil check in with everyone very soon. DH is a full time job and some days take more hours than other.
Hugs to all, Sharon
Have a safe trip Betty and give hugs to Sharon and Debbie!
