Wonderful Thunder that your Mom is still around to take the call (HUGS)......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

brrrr, grab a sweater 41F this morning and raining, thinking how if I find it cold now what am I going to do in a few months?

Speaking of birthdays, best I not forget to call mom tomorrow it's her 83rd birthday.

What a wonderful idea getting the older chairs to recycle, quite a job for Lance though.

Great that your cough is no longer Sharon

watched some of the news re Colorado flooding, lordy they need an ark

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is 77 here this morning.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

So smilling at the photo's Bev..amazing where these little critters look to sleep!
Are you closing up your gardens?

LindaKay, we are at the point where one day we freeze and the next is up in the 70's as well.

Didn't cut my grass on the weekend, likely too wet to do so tonight.

cool in the office, wearing a light cover all but still chilled, likely it's me feeling off that the cold is getting to me.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Crazy weather here too, forecast is for it to warm up a bit but I don't believe "them" anymore. going to ready my plant table and bring in the house plants. I don't have a any good windows because of being in the woods. We put them upstairs under a skylight, give them a spray for bugs and cover with a sheet for a few hours. We have a well but need a softener for iron so we also collect rain water and fill jugs to use while they are indoors. I used to have many plants but when we moved, I only kept the ones I'm sentimental about due to lack of room and proper lighting. I have my great grandmother's Christmas cactus, The Hoya my dad got when he had his cancer surgery, the hibiscus tree my daughter got me several years ago for Mother's Day and a purple shamrock that blooms almost constantly. I saved it from the florist my DIL worked for when they threw it out back. Made it fair game and I did tell them I was stealing it. The Hibiscus tree I do put in the living room by a window, I trim it back quite severely, as soon as the flowers are done, it grows very well each summer outside.
At one time I had a huge glass room filled with plants, I would hope that at least I will have a porch or sun room when and if we ever get to TN. I love plants and flowers and can't wait to fill a yard again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lots of preparation Karen, wonderful how you've kept those plants alive, can't even imagine how special these plants are to you

Only plant I have to look after is the Mother's Day plant Greg gave me and a planter filled with mini chicken and hens that Joyce gave me..I'm terrible with indoor plants, let's hope the two survive

Look at Brandon, how grown he is..how proud you must be!

Been a news morning for me

Noah is being sent to Toronto, Sunnybrook Hospital..for the gals from Ontario here I'm sure they will confirm that it is one of the best hospitals in Canada..veterans hospital..Roger had his spine operation there, top quality doctors..not sure what services they have to offer re Noah's needs but am sure they have the best of the best of whatever it is..glad about it but also sad..I will try and get down there I day during the week and once a weekend

Rita called, she's my friend that is separating from her hubby and while we were away had an offer on her place on the lake and her hubby twice put a spoke in the wheel that stopped the offer, one of the offers was what she wanted $$ wise and cach and he turned it down for silly reasons..anyway, offer signed and delivered this weekend, closing date Dec. 20th but realtor called and said the people have 2 offers coming in and if either accepted people want 30 day closing..do able, told her my house is open for her to stay until she decides where she wants to go.

Then Linda and a coworker had allegations against them by male coworker, stupid things, nonesense but really mentally exhausting..had her meeting this morning and all o.k. so am sure where she decided to retire on an offered plan to go next April it might be at end of year..she was really fed up with the bu"%sh8* (her words)

Big sigh

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Ah Betty, seems like a good thing for Noah. Hard to have him away but so worth it for a chance he will come home whole in mind and body. So many of us have gone or are going through this pain.

It will be nice for you to have a friend with you for a while. So sad for Linda but as she says it will put an end to the Bulls---.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thank you, will be hard for them all today, can't even imagine how Noah is feeling, likely feeling like he's being cast aside

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The end of the bull____ is the best part of all. That kind of stuff can really drag you down. Especially when it is NOT warranted.

I'm happy Noah is going to get the help he needs. I was really worried when you said there were no beds for him in the province!!! And he should know by now that his family loves him beyond all his thoughts and that they want only the best for him as they always have... Get that thought of being tossed aside out of your head dear Betty!!!!

It may be a good thing to have Rita with you for a while. It would certainly help with keeping your mind off Noah at times....

Yes, Linda just sent me an e-mail

everyone they interviewed said how knowledgeable she is, how helpful she is, kind to everyone..hey how could she not be, after all she is not only my SIL but my cousin (we're like sisters as we grew up together) said not one negative comment

only thing said is ALL the ladies have to remember there are 2 men in the department..couldn't talk but said she would call me tonight with further news.

Melanie just e-mailed me, said Sunnybrook Hospital was the only one that could take Noah, only bed available..she will let me know if they move him today how the transition from Midland to Toronto went..needless to say I'm in tears again.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

How far is Sunnyvrook from your place Betty? We all know it is for the best for Noah to move there and get the help he needs. Is he still having raging fits? I hope they can sedate him when that happens? Glad to hear that Rita sold her place despite ex hubbies shenanigans.

Verona, ON

Sunnybrook is an excellent hospital Betty no matter what you might have read in the press. My FIL loved his long stays there - he was a WW1 vet and had TB. Everyone who stayed at the Princess Margaret Lodge when I was there that went to Sunnybrooke spoke so highly of the staff. He'll be in good hands. Now don't be surprised if they tell you no visitors for a week or two. That often happens. Sending positive thoughts and those of comfort and strength.

I'm flipping mad..not sure of the details

while I was at lunch there was a message from Mel..here is what it says

'new change sounds like he's being discharged tomorrow to home? But Dr. and Kathy will let me know this afternoon'

excuse me?????

called Greg, he was at the hospital and our Dr. Jilesen said he could only keep Noah so long..Kathy the social worker with kids spoke with him early this morning and Noah said he would go home and do exactly the same

just so discouraging, hated to hear he was going to Toronto but this is even worse

They will wait until we find him dead somewhere and then give the 'should have taken action'
sure not crying right now, spitting out the bad words...

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Sure do understand the bad words. It was so hopeful for him this morning.

Lyndonville, NY

Oh Betty, I would be steaming mad also. Your boy needs major help, and Greg & Mel are
in denial. It will only get worse at home. AND....he can't come to you...he needs someone
there with him around the clock for supervision.

BIG BIG Hugs!!!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

My hopes were so high earlier only to be crushed much like yours Betty. Sending a hug and a shoulder for tears!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sure hope they change plans and take him to Toronto.

Victoria Harbour, ON

NOT Greg and Mel Debbie, they are there fighting to get him into any hospital they can, they do not want him home as he desperately need help and no denial there

got to give them credit there..as with Kyle, Melanie was like a dog with a bone, wouldn't let any assessment go without some direction, Kyle doing so well is all due to her tenacity, same with Noah, if anyone can get him help via the system it will be her..she accepts these bumps in the road and tries to find help.

Greg is waiting with papers for whoever lets him out tomorrow, wants them signed by hospital so that should anything happen he will be able to show exactly who is sending him home and accepting the responsibility.

now I'm wondering if maybe the intent is that if they do get appt. with specialist tomorrow , this professional is where he says, "hospital you go"

won't know much until late tonight

Sending prayers Betty. Sure wish there were some trees I could shake for you but I have been out of the business too long now to know anybody who could make a decision about a treatment facility.Huge hugs!
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Dianne,
Mel's bio mom is a nurse in Meaford, she is shaking trees as well

Verona, ON

Excellent!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Any word on your sewing machine Betty?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Can you feel the hugs coming your way dear friend? Both Norm and I are in the same denial as you. We don't understand how they can release him. Do they have any private hospitals there that would accept him? Or is everything in Canada government run?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Oh my Betty, did Greg try the MPP route .. worth a try.
Am STUNNED at the lack of compassion and concern being show here by the medical community!

I am EXHAUSTED .. just cleaned up (with help) from a huge supper for 7 .. tomorrow we go OUT for supper , I find I am tiring way too quickly ..

Off to bed

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got this email from Mel

"Well he goes Toronto doctor for assessment tomorrow and then home
so lets hope that he's willing to negotiate. (Fingers crosses)"

Then spoke with Ann, Mount Siani doctor said if Alex continues as is he will come home in 5 weeks

Addy is swelling now in feet and legs, concern over this

LindaHay, they figure it is the power unit gone in the sewing machine, approx 4 weeks before I get it back

Calling it a night

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg just dropped in, couldn't believe that I am already in bed

On his way to see Noah

Sunny brook hospital are doing a 6 hr evaluation tomorrow

Greg is beside himself..apparently when paperwork was sent to Sunnybrook this morning and they saw he had ran away from the guard they seek they are not equipped for 24 hour guarding of a child.

Greg says right now Noah is in frame of mind "see, nobody can make me do anything"

Just wanted to add some exciting news in hopes it will help energize us in our efforts to provide our Betty with strength, comfort and hope.

I have had this secret I have wanted to share but didn't want to jinx my chances of this whole thing happening.Late this afternoon Diesel welcomed into our home our newly adopted rescue male GS all the way from Kentucky. Duke (foster kids named him) is 4 -6 mon old male GS. He is black and tan and if his paws are any indication he will be a big boy. When Debbie finds a chance to breathe in the next couple of days she will post a photo of Duke.He is full of P and V and is keeping up with Diesel - no problem. My goodness I had forgotten how much energy puppies have.

Sweet dreams everyone.

Wonderful News Dianne! Welcome DUKE! Sounds like "Patsy" (who raised me) beautiful dog.... Dianne... you are my MOM! (rescuer of dogs and completely wonderful woman)
(HUGS)
Betty - I am praying very hard... things will work out.... Many hugs your way....

FIL had the Traech surgery today. They will move him to promise hospital when ready to recover (That means nothing but perhaps to Jean/Moonie)

We were delivered the "space" today which also means nothing at this point. Our sign is done....
The website is being worked on... begging him to add "coming to Baton Rouge" but here it is

Wonderful news indeed Dianne, very soft place in my heart for GSDs.

Wonderful news for you too Mary. Mmmmmm gelato.

Hoping for good news for Betty tomorrow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Can't wait to see the new one!
Mary, congrats on the web page, you guys are getting really close to opening those doors for the first time!

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning,

This is my new "nephew" Duke.....Diesels baby brother. And I don't know if I am in love with those big ears....or that tongue! Dianne and I have a thing for dogs with long tongues! LOL

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Congrats on the new puppy Dianne. I just adopted a new kitten and yes, they like puppies have more energy than I remembered. Love the ears on Duke, but that tongue is something else....all the better to lick you with my dear!!

Mary, sounds like things are starting to pull together....know it has been along haul so far.

Well, today is my day to do some more cleaning in my yard. Hopefully my yard man who does all the trash removal will show up.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Frost on the pumpkin this morrning, low 30's when I left home and frost warning again for tonight!

Oh Dianne, Duke is adorable, you have your hands full now lol bet you woke up to them playing..just watch you don't get tangled up in the play and get hurt! When the boys were young be had a german sheppard, gorgeous animal, had a bit of difficulties with him, he was Roger's dog for sure, he'd let me in the room, lay there quietly but when I wanted to leave i.e. to check on the babes Roger would have to come to my resuce.

Mary, are one of those 3 sites your restaurant, thought yours was closer to Baton Rouge?
Prayers for your FIL, you all must be terribly worried.

Suzanne is not in the office today, Paul up north so I've a sewing room all set up, in small conference room is my sewing machine, in the big conference room my ironing pad and cutting board..best I keep busy!

Marion, what is the temp..Up in the air as to when I will take Darlene south, her cousin also offered providing he hasn't started working, almost tempted to tell her to let him and I'll fly down for Christmas.

Debbie, do you think we'll be able to meet up on Tuesday????

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning all ^_^

Over the moon re Duke, quite the handsome boy ... congrats and welcome back to the world of ACTIVE PUPPYDOM!!

Nice website Mary, I like watching Raechel Ray, she cooks like me LoL, a real plus to have her pic on the site.

Betty, as always, thoughts are in your corner re Noah, but, can imagine Greg has about had it with the 'attitude', very frustrating. Sure has given me pause for thought for which causes I give to, altho, the Salvation Army is one organization that does deal with problems like Noahs, I donate to them simply because over the years I have seen them in action and have been very impressed.
Re Addy, poor wee girl, my prayers remain for her and her brother.

Have a nail appt this morning, and Gord has his left knee assessed at 1pm. I'm going with him as it's the same surgeon and team that did my hip. I sure hope they opt for anything else BUT surgery .. the knee bothers him, but he is still very mobile.
NO COOKING today ... out for supper, YAY !! I was in bed by 8pm last night and could hardly get up at 7am this morning .. this having company is a toughie this time around.

Best get a shake on

TOODLES

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Awe. Duke is so pretty. I agree your going to be very busy with both of them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just called my mom the birthday girl, she was telling me all about the operation she has to have haetus (??) hernia..they think that is why she is coughing so much!

Told me Sharon is really ill with cold/flu, guess it will be going around due to big changes in the weather, hope it doesn't come to my neck of the woods.

"M" might be better that he gets his knee replaced while it's not hurting as bad..remember the pain and the wait you went through. Did you get frost?

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, Paul is home sick...so something is going around. Pretty sure he got it in Ohio from our niece.

Cold here also, Court with Shannon today...so am a bit on edge.

Wish Mama Fran a happy birthday for me!

Prayers for all today
