Wonderful Dianne that you were able to help out, will make me more aware that I could help as well, just have to figure out HOW.

Was frosty this a.m.but I don't think it was a hard frost..would imagine leaves will soon start to get colorful.

Looking outside as I type think maybe I could go in back shed and get bins with fall decorations and set them out, would give me a bit of fresh air, might clear my head a bit!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Thanks for the new room "M".
Thanks for the update Betty, try to get some rest too please? Staying busy will help but make sure you eat and rest!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning.

Even though I have not posted, I have read, prayed, laughed and cried with you all. There have been cognitive/memory and a few physical hurdles along the way, and some will just be a matter of time and rehab work. Connecting thoughts and motor skills is a little harder than before.

Betty, you and Noah and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself and each other and trust in the power of prayer and faith.

Know you are loved,

Jean

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I reached a 'milestone' just a few minutes ago .. I took a basket of laundry out ON the walker, and hung it on the line ,, YAYAYAYAY .. no watching poor Gord and Lorna struggle trying to figure out how to hang out sheets .. and what a banner day for sheets drying, a brisk westerly wind and, SUN!!!!!!!!!! Has warmed up significantly since this morning.

Good to see you 'getting busy' Betty, I'm sure your day will be filled with ups and downs, but I am voting for MORE ups !!
The support Noah has is really quite overwhelming .. wonderful to see.

DH was to have picked me some apples from our trees so I could make a pie .. he went out this morning, brought me FOUR apples, one from each tree .. I am to PICK which one I want .. well that would mean eating SOME of four apples, so, once he gets back from the city I'll get him to just pick from the ripest tree .. I'd walk down to the one I like, but, the grass is wet, and, therefore, slippery .. always sumpthin ..

K .. I'm gonna clam up now ..

Welcome Jean, always nice to meet a new friend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jean so nice to see you post. Hpoe with every day you get better.
M please be careful doing things. You don't need to slip and fall.

Verona, ON

Jean I am so happy to see you post. You are in my thoughts every day as I listen to music.Know you are working hard at your exercises cause if ya didn't your DH would be on you like Flynn. Huge hugs sweet lady.

M congrats on getting that wash out. I don't miss Monday wash days. I grew up with a wringer washer and it was my job to hang out the clothes from a very early age. We didn't get a dryer until I was well into my teens. Hmmmm apple pie!

Mary, Diesel and I just got back from another walk and you would have loved this one. We were swarmed by dragonflies. Without a word of a lie there were hundreds of them in this one area. I love to watch them fly around. Some even landed on DIesel's back. I won't mention the huge dead pike Diesel also brought back to me.....lol

Betty I am so glad that all of Noah's family is being so supportive. Noah might not appreciate it just now but as time goes by he will realize how loved he is. I have a feeling with his depression he is feeling unworthy of love right now. I do hope that woman he babysat for is charged - especially since Noah is a minor.

Crissy I hope your first day at the new job is goes well on Monday. I will be sending you positive thoughts.

Susan good to see you post. Are you finished being around the obnoxious guy who thought he was boss?

Loving the wweather today. It has both Diesel and I energized. Need to cut the lawn so best get going.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, first smile in a bit seeing you post, hope it's one of many..you are always in my prayers! May the next weeks show much improvement health wise..Mary has been busy but know she wants to meet up with you.

"M" you are almost back to you old self, feels good doesn't it

Dianne, yuk on the pike, will diesel need a bath, omg they can stink..maybe the dragonflies are doing their prep work for fall/winter
Trying to find energy this aft to enjoy some of that sunshine by cutting grass.

I took a quick run to Barrie, right there right back..been having trouble with bobbin casing on my Janome, meant to order one a few months ago, this mornimg machine was acting up, called janome dealer in Barrie and he had one, 1 1/2 hrs later I'm home..stopped at laundromat and put the rag quilt I made this week n the washer, have it timed, must leave to put it in their dryers.

Ran home while washing ncase there was a phone call

Noah is indeed loved, all are trying to offer support and love..sure hope he sees it

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oops Jean, my bad, kind of new to this thread so didn't realize from your post that other sistahs knew you.

Betty, this was on FB today and I thought you might want to give it a look. It's handy hints for long arm quilting. Guy seems to know his stuff.

Thanks Karen, will look at it for sure

just looked at the clock, haven't eaten yet, will make a bowl of soup and sandwich,
two coffee's are wearing thin

I find hand sewing calming so will sit and do border of the Christmas quilt I'll give to my cousin Larry and his wife Janet

Uncle Allan's rag quilt is washed dried and fluffy, ready to put in a Christmas bag

Do you all have sunshine today
what are you up to

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Today was another get away day for me. We drove back to Hillsborough and then on to the next town over. It was their Harvest and Home days and Brandon was marching in the parade. Also, my friend Elaine had a booth set up to sell her table runners and placemats. We came home with four kinds of jam and a loaf of orange bread!!! Guess we know where the good stuff comes from eh???? I just love the Fall fairs and all the goodies that are for sale only then. Autumn is my favorite time of the year.

I put the six quilt blocks together and found that I really needed two more so got them done yesterday. Now all the top needs are the borders and I can get it ready to go to the quilter....

I'm glad you are at home today Betty. You can find so many ways to keep yourself busy. I know you would be at the hospital in a minute if it would help. But you, too, need to recharge so as to be a help to Noah, Kyle, Greg and Melanie. Right now he needs all the professional help that may be available to him. He will continue to be in my prayers as well as all of the rest of you.

Off to make up a shopping list. Won't be too bad this week I hope!!!!
Love to all~~~~~

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Hi all. Am here for you Betty. I haven't been keeping up too good but know that we all must pull together at these times. Love and Hugs BEV

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

So glad you are having a rest day Betty,
We are having a sunshine day, not too warm but is supposed to get warmer for a few days.
Barb I enjoy fall too except it means winter is coming. I wish we were down state and could go to the cider mill, loves me some fresh plain fried cakes, my fav. donut. Our cider mill is very old and has a neat history. At one time there was a canal being built across the state. Where the cider mill is they built a sluice so the river powered the wheel for the mill. They make awesome cider, almost impossible to get in there on week-ends in the fall. The canal was never finished but it is a good site for fishing and picnicing too.

Fixing butternut squash for dinner can never get too much of that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

In my Jammie's having hot chocolate, should have bought marshmallows.

Just spoke to Greg, Noah is having a calm day, no visitors except for either he or Mel..wish I had thought to ask how they are doing, broke down when he said they moved Noah back to regular room with guard..here is hoping he will adjust!

Barb the best I can do for the fall fairs is attend the Applefest in Meaford 1st weekend in October, will pick up jams, apples while there. Dianne know you'd love to attend!

Bev, how nice to see you post, sending hugs

Karen, no chance at all you can be in Tennessee for the winter?

Liz meant to say thanks as well for your kind thoughts

Sure do appreciate all of you

Boy I wish Betty, but unless and until we sell here, this is where I have to be. I can make visits but granddaughters place is so small. This is a resort town so selling season is about done for this year.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning, Got back home late yesterday afternoon.

Next appointment in Cleveland is March, after having an indepth MRI again. BUT
over all, great improvements. New med to help with spasms and muscle cramps.

Betty, been thinking and praying for you and Noah and family. Big big hugs my Bessie
Lou.

Babies are growing and looking so cute...tiny fingers, tiny toes....kiss that little button nose!

"M" safe travels!!!

My son is in that flooding out in Colorado. It is total mess, roads totally flooded. He said cement mixer came and dumped a barricade of cement to stop or detour water away from apartments and other areas. Sent me a picture of another rain cloud moving in.....and said no relief in site
until maybe Monday or Tuesday.

Needing coffee, am catching up on the threads...no internet but my phone in Ohio.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, 61F here right now, dull kind of day..

"M" you are excited with Lorna's parents visiting, not like their last visit when you were feeling so poorly..are they coming to better weather? gee whiz, seems like it was just yesterday they were visiting..any plans you coming south?

Debbie, nice to see you posting, how did your visit with doctor's go, know you really didn't want to go but Paul put his foot down thank goodness..any progress? How exciting you got to speak with Shane, that alone would make you feel better..lets hope Mother Nature starts to listen to the needs of the people, lordy they sure have been hit. can you imagine the work they will have to rid themselves of the cement afterwards

Barb, how is the quilt coming? will you get some sewing in today or will you spend the day with Norm..did you ever mention how far the ocean is from you?

If all goes well I am suppose to meet up with Julie from DG a week Tuesday, have a box I must get ready to post for the candle swap at same time so best I go see what I have that I can pack up

Heard there was more bad weather brewing in Mexico, wonder if it's near Katie?
Was up at 1:30 and couldn't sleep, had a hot bath, crawled back into bed and slept till 7:00am and even then I wanted to stay in bed..figuring it just might be wanting to pull the covers over my head and stay there I got up.

Did finish the binding on a Christmas quilt, rag quilt done so both ready to wrap!

have 4 more placemats from a set that needs hand sewing of binding, relaxing so might make that my today project or I could crawl under Uncle Allan's Christmas gift, rag quilt and snuggle for the rest of the day..not likely to happen lol

waiting to hear if Noah is allowed company today so I won't venture away from home.

Abby NOT doing well, had an operation last night on her bowel, still has the bag but needed to do more repairs, now blood in the bag.. Then her head swelling due to the blood clot, giving her morphine, best they can do at the moment! Today her in lungs are failing, poor darling, what a fight she is fighting to stay with us.

Alex is really doing well, if no issues arise and his breathing improves he may be home end of October/early November

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - I'm just today reading about Noah, Greg, Melanie, and yourself, and what you're going through..... *Hugs* for all.... please continue to get some rest. I hope that today is a better day. I missed what had happened to Noah in the first place - had he tried to harm himself? I came in where he'd taken off from the hospital and subsequently found.... what a scare for all of you....

Jean - SO good to see you posting again! *Hugs*

In fact, hugs to everyone - I miss you when I don't check in....

Work - well, the obnoxious guy is no longer the main trainer - Janet has come back from vacation, and the GM and she know about how I was treated my 2nd week on the job. So the end of the 3rd week (Thurs) when they found out, they've put a stop to it, and things are much better.
No one deserves to be treated like that - the teasing went "over the line", and the pranking - they said the boys didn't know me well enough to be pranking me. That didn't bother me as much as the disrespect and put downs I got. Well, it's over with now, and I'm relaxing into my job, as well as putting my head down and just getting on with my job.

Yesterday I heard that my Mom had fallen, and her Life Line was pressed, but no one responded. As the "home" checks on everyone every 2 hours, I'm not sure when she fell, but they found her. My sister Alice came by and had a hard time waking Mom up. Her colour was "off" too. Alice got Mom to eat (she ate the complete dinner), took her out for a walk in the sunshine, and got her laughing at jokes. By the end of the visit Mom's colour was back, and she was looking much better. I don't know if during the fall she'd hit her head, but maybe it just took a lot out of her and that's why she didn't wake up? Anyway, her blood pressure is fine, and the on-call nurse's aide was monitoring Mom all the time. My brother is not to be relied on to look after Mom. I suppose he thinks that the "home" (it's not a care home, and it's not assisted living - it's in-between that) will do everything and he just has to visit. That's not the case, and Alice and Ruth are looking after Mom's regular needs (like pull-ups and Boost). My older sister Evelyn won't come to see Mom or talk to her or my brother Stan. Evelyn and Alice are close, so that's good. No one's talking to Stan, after he took over Mom's bank account. Mom has no idea what he's doing - she thinks the sun shines out of every one of his orifices..

So, our family is dysfunctional again. BUT, Alice and Ruth are doing a wonderful job of caring for Mom. It's difficult for Alice with her lung cancer (she just doesn't have the wherewithal to do as much as she is doing...... and is in her 70's as well), but... something needs doing and as I'm here, I can't help much.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

(((Susan))) so glad to hear from you again and that your job situation is now improved. The sort of harrassment you were getting shouldn't be allowed in any work place. Bravo to you for sticking it out until Janet returned.

It's sad when family dynamics get into a disfunctional situation. Now that my parents are gone, ours has fallen a bit by the wayside. My nephew abused my granddaughter many years ago. My parents put him into counselling and we went on. he got older and married and we thought it was all behind us until he decided to constantly taunt my granddaughter. Next thing my sister told me he had been arrested and was sentenced to 10-15 in prison for abusing two little girls. I was upset at not being told until his trial was over. As it happened, my granddaughter would have talked to the prosecuter to show this wasn't a first offense and he certainly had no remorse over what he had done to her.. Upshot was my sister said this was none of our business and hasn't spoken to me since. Our own family is doing just fine though so I just ignore the rest and love mine to pieces.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks. I have tried to keep up with things here.

Glad the Training is over and you are in a more professional atmosphere, Susan.

So far as dysfunctional families go....I have come to understand that while we can not choose relatives, we can absolutely choose those whom we love and care about that touch our hearts and souls. Those are the folks that help us find the sanity in dYSfuNcTIonAl.

Betty, it seems all is okay for now in Mulege weatherwise for Katie. Most of the rain is coming in from Ingrid on the Eastern coast in the Gulf of Mexico.

So nice to hear from you Jean. Your post has a smile in it and that is great. I'm thinking your PT is really helping.
Susan, we are all so glad that things have calmed down for you at work. Nobody should be mistreated like that and I'm glad your supervisor now knows what went on in her absence. Maybe it will prevent that from happening again.... God bless.
Sending prayers for Alex and Addy and Noah and Toby. May they all be blessed with God's grace....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Did post happy birthday to Thunder on another thread but think we should have a sing along wishing her the best..ok I'll start

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Thunder, happy birthday to you..ok who wasn't singing.

Susan, posted re your mom's fall on another thread as well, here is hoping it was a shock to her but nothing broken, so easily done at her age..

Jean, very well said

Barb, you know your prayers are always felt..

Hmm I've the stupidest movie on and just too lazy to change it

Did watch Lincoln this afternoon and enjoyed it

I'm cozy in bed, hate the thoughts of going to work tomorrow but will..

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

thanks for the birthday wishes. I had a good day (had to work) had a GREAT evening. spoke to My Momma this morn. before work. got calls from 2 of my sisters, third one sent me wishes on FB. talked to all three of my boys. Malena sang to me on skype ^_^ while Ryleigh cooed and gurgled and smiled !! yup great evening.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I have finally stopped coughing.

My sad DH is having a bad day. NASCAR and Sunday night football are both delayed because of rain and lightening.

I had to skip a whole bunch of posts because I was so far behind.

Our rain is gone and we are back in the low 100s. There is major flooding in Acapulco. The majority of the resident in Acapulco are very poor. I have only been there once and I did not ever want to go back.

I pray that you all have a wonderful day tomorrow. That all your pain dissipates and does not return. That there is joyfulness in lal of your hearts.

Betty your quilts are beautiful.

I would really enjoy a piece of that cake. It looks so chocolate.

Take care. Hugs, Sharon

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Cross post Thunder. My mother was always the first call I received on my birthday.

So pleased you had a great day.

Baton Rouge, LA

Happy Birthday Thunder !

Must have had some rain? Saints had a lightning delay (but that was Tampa but not too far?)

Dianne definitely I would have loved that walk this morning... dragonflies have a strange wisdom to me.... must be those big EYES LOL...
Betty praying for you and family....

I've had Jean on my list for a while and she is a wonderful friend to be patient with me :o) Her items are placed carefully in the Tahoe so if I end up near I can try to call....

Barb good to see you. Susan (HUGS) For your mother...

Tomorrow is a big day.

FIL will be taken to surgery for a Traech. That way he can hopefully recover better than with the respirator.
We are given our "Space" tomorrow (Business) and our contractor will go in mid week and begin.

Hubs and I bought 30 old chairs that originally came from a library.... $5 each and went to work washing and trying to get them in tip top shape... He may try staining them.

waving at Bev... thought of you today

(HUGS) To all...
Mary

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I called my Momma, she did not call me....I always call her first thing when I wake up on my Birthday... I feel it is her day too!!! she did the work after-all :)

Lyndonville, NY

For many years...my Mom used to call me at 3:36 a.m....and remind me I kept her up
all night in labor. LOL

Mary, good deal on the chairs! Maybe do them shabby chic if it will fit in your ideas.

Heading to bed.
