Morning sistahs. Hallelujah it's a new day and I don't have to be dragged down by yesterday! Nope... I'm not medicated :D

According to the Farmers Almanac, today will be a good day for transplanting. Got cactii to pot, cypress limbs to root and seeds to be sown. THAT will be the easiest part... just lay them on the ground.
I had advised Kel's cousin not to do anything during 'barren' days, and he had potted 3 brugs seedlings for me. He scoffed at F.A! The brugs didn't survive.

Carole, my best friend from Louisiana days, has moved to Lebanon, Tn. She has always wanted me to move there. So you never know.. nothing is set in stone..
By the way, what's your avatar? Lovely bloom.

Pegi.. where are you girl? Hope you're doing good and hanging to some semblance of sanity.

What's eveyone's agenda for today? If not doing anything special, have a grand special day anyway! We are all undisputedly, SUPERWOMEN!

Superwomen we are indeed!

I'm not too far from Lebanon. Hey, you just never know, do you?

My avatar is a Double Tiger Lily. My first bloom from that particular plant. Yay! :)

Today I am planting a couple of things, going to gas up the car, going to the store for some wine and spraying some bamboo with vinegar and dish soap mixture. Isn't that exciting?

Help ...I'm under a cat attack! Ya'll have a good day.

We've been trying to move to the Knoxville area for two years now. First hurdle was selling our home down state, now we need to sell this place which has been our family cottage for over 20 years. Tougher market here, although it is a popular vacation area.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

If you don't mind me asking, why are you moving to the Knoxville area? Family? If you don't want to say, that's okay. :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
I have a nephew and his wife living in Gallatin, TN. Steve and Hollie Dennis.
Not doing much here, just watered what plants are still living, the caladiums are all but gone. Hoping my roses will come back after the carpenter ants ate them! :(

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Morning. Getting ready to go into town with Sue...she has doctor's appointments. One of the appointments is to have the tube taken out of the tear duct. Sure hoping the eye will be okay!!!

Small, small world indeed. I have 2 cousins who live near Lebanon, TN. One lives in Mt. Juliet and the other one lives about 20 miles away.

Carole, read where you didn't think you could join us in 2014 as your husband can't travel. Sending you hugs and prayers as I can relate to what you are doing. Inspite of the stress, I would do it all over again.......love removes the stress actually.

No planting here..much to wet. Kim says it is also very wet at home.

Need to go..Sue is ready and we need to make a couple of stops prior to the doctors. need to get something called kitty litter.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying that her eye is all healed!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I do have family in the Knoxville area, 3 grands and 4 greats. I can no longer tolerate the winters here in MI, my health is too screwed up. I don't want to go all the way to FL, no one there so TN seems a good choice. I've spent enough time there over the years to be familiar with the weather. I will miss family here but will still see them several times a year.

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

I don't blame you for that. We've had some very mild winters lately.

Thank you, Marion. I very much appreciate hugs and prayers. :)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Here are my (((((((((((((Carole))))))))))))))))

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thank you, Jaye. I received them all. :)

Hi everyone!!!Hope all is good!!!
Cody

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello Cody! Hope your doing well, and don't too busy getting your little one ready for school!

Holly Springs, NC(Zone 7b)

I’ve been away for almost two weeks now. Lots going on but I thought that it was time to pop in and let everyone know I’m still kicking. The work saga, abridged: new boss, surgery, travel, change job & new boss, move offices, change job & new boss (again!), interview, travel, interview, what’s my job again? This has all happened since July 1st. I’m thankful I have a job, but I think I’m going to have a nervous breakdown before it’s all said and done. I’ll give the unabridged version some other time, k?

For now I’m on a hit list for being two weeks late on a swap…and not communicating with the swap leader. My bad. Really, really bad. My husband is a really mellow guy, but even he declared tonight “I don’t get any interaction” as I shooed him out of the kitchen. The garden is overgrown, the laundry hasn’t been done in two weeks, and I have two sewing commissions that are coming due. Calgon, take me away!

I'm going to go make chocolate mug cake from the mix that Jaye sent me.

Hi Linda kay,i am doing good. Thanks for asking.Alex is visting his dad til tuesday. Then i will get him back for awhile. He has been in school for 2 weeks now.How are you doing?
Cody

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Lanakila, sorry to hear your going through so much! Hope life settles down for you soon!

Cody, I am doing fine, just hot! I have been babysitting the two Grandsons for the past week and half, taking them back home Sunday for School starts Monday!

Linda kay, glad you are ok.Wow you have been kept busy with the kids.I bet you will be glad to get some rest soon.Take care!!

Cody

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It will be nice to have the house quiet, but I sure do love having them here too!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

Morning, Linda.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Well hello Cody! How's the weather in Louisiana? Is it gumbo weather yet? Good to see you girl. I'm sure Alex is ready to come home.

Lanakila.. "Ommmm...ommm..."
Goodness, you've been through a personal hurricane gal! Good luck on your new job and I wish you PEACE!! Garden can wait.. but you do need clean underwear!
By the way, while the cake is still warm, we add some butter to it. Delicious.

Morning sistahs. What's everyone up to?
Anyone follow the current Project Runway? Last night was a tear jerker!

LK, you'll miss the boys when they're gone. The house will be too quiet.

Holly Springs, NC(Zone 7b)

Wait. What? I should have added a little butter while it was still warm? Well, that does it! I'll just have to make it again...and again...and again. :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will enjoy the quiet house, but I do miss them when they are gone!

We don't watch runway here Jaye!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Good Morning Ladies,

Frigging goverment and their health insurance demands is going to cause all Hobby Lobby stores to close their doors

http://www.tomtayloronline.org/2013/07/07/hobby-lobby-founder-may-close-all-stores/

Been busy outside collecting flower seeds and sending out to peeps on TPE, having dinner party tonight with Sheri & new hubby, Jenny & new bf, Doug and I, fixing BBQ Pork steaks in crock pot, yellow crook neck squash from my garden, green salad and desert, going to be a fun night

Hope ya all have a good weekend, I will be going to see my bro on Sunday, then spending two days at mom's digging up Iris, Daffs, and Lilies bringing most of them here

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't work too hard Cindy!

Oh, I sure hope they don't close all the Hobby Lobby's! That would be so sad!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kathy, and word from the Dr. visit yesterday?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Lol Lanakila. Somehow, I know with your busy schedule, you'd appreciate that quick chocolate fix. And you don't need to be baking a whole cake! Microwave when needed :D

Cindy, take time to breathe please.

I doubt they'd close, Cindy.. LK.
They filed a law suit last year. To me, it's a shame when profits are much more important than supplying health insurance for their employees and their families. The owners can't call themselves Christians when they start to discriminate.
Jesus isn't about politics. He's for the welfare of the people.

BUT, If they do close, another company like JoAnn or even Michael's will take up the slack and benefit more.
Less competition would means growth for them.

Will be gone all day.. Kel's taking off from work. Even though my garden is looking like a forest with weeds taller than me.. I'll "allow" him to play hookey!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy your day with Kel!

Linda Kay,i know you will miss the boys when they are not their.

Hi Jaye,it is still hot and very dry here.No its not weather for gumbo.Yes i do wish alex was home and can't wait for my baby t get back home.
Cody

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yea but think about it Jaye, it's not only going to hurt Hobby Lobby it will hurt all business'.........look how many companies only hire part time...... Walmart for that reason alone

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry but I stand with Jaye re: Hobby Lobby. Same regarding Walmart. You think they can't afford to pay insurance for their employees? Think again. If I offend anyone, I am sorry, but instead of continuing these statements, make yourself informed re: new changes. We all agree we need better health care but until something is actually put into place, we can't start "fine" tuning it for everyone. Only businesses with over 50 employees have to provide and I certainly don't call that a small or "mom and pop" business.

Yes, that was a statement issue by Hobby Lobby and it is their right to issue such statements but I don't think it is their right to impose their beliefs on others any more than I think it is my right to impose my religion on you. Add to this the rumors re: not saying Pledge of Allegence to the flag. It IS said in the school.

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

I didn't even get to become acquainted with Hobby Lobby since they have some stores here. Not close enough though, can't take an hours drive to go to one.

Still very hot here and I just can't get out to work in the yard. I have discovered when you get older the weather bothers you a lot more. DH is feeling better now that he has oxygen. Next week starts chemo treatment again, this is a never ending war.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

We're free to express our opinions. We all can't think alike all the time.
I'm glad that we're living in a democracy where leaders are voted in. I can't stand my state's GOP and what they're doing to NC, I thank God that next year, I have that choice not to vote for their party.

Morning everyone.
Kel's snores are ear shattering tonight and I'm pretty sure if we lived in a grave yard, the bones would have evicted us.

Pegi.. Darwin is so lucky to have you. I am sure he has thanked you so many times for sticking by him.
To rid cancer, one's subjected to uncertainties that can shatter even a saint's faith.

It's back to summer weather here. Had the ac on last night and it still didn't drown Kel's snores!

Cody, I told Kel that I'll set the thermo at 62, so we'll have gumbo tomorrow!!!

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Jaye! Sorry about Kel's snoring. Hope you get a nap today.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

No naps today, LK.
Sewing, cooking.. sewing.. trying to get promised stuffs out.
Then, will be helping Kel got pine trees and saplings to get rid of..
You'd be busy with the boys I presume?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We just got back from shopping for school clothes and supplies.
It is not easy shopping with two boys. Glad it is only once a year.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

They'll always remember what Grandma did for them, LK.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Jaye, sorry about Rudy....hope your memories of her will bring smiles to your face. You'll have lots of kids waiting for you on the rainbow bridge..

Dang that SUE!!! She talks about the cool weather and now we're in the mid to high 80's and may hit 90's next week.....geesh...... we do get in trouble together, no doubt....

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

It is still hot here, so looking forward to some cool weather. I now know why I can't have lovely gardens and lots of veggies, no rain during the summer months, once in a great while we will get a few scattered drops. Got my water bill today and it keeps rising. I definitely am going to find a way to save the rain water this time. Only nice rain water puts a smile on the faces of flowers.

Darwin doesn't thnk me for any thing, I really don't think he knows how to say those words. LOL He is lucky to have me around and I keep telling him that. I always use to tell him if it wasn't for me he would have been in the poor hourse years ago and he says that is true. Will see how next week goes with visit to oncologist and chemo treatment. He talks about going fishing all the time and I hope he gets to fish, minus the black eye.
