I just wrote CNN some 'hate mail' .. good grief!! The picture on my (their) Homepage is of Miley Cyrus doing lord knows what, wearing who knows what (not much) with her tongue hanging out like a dog !!!
I was going to play the video but decided against it .. talk about PORN in your face !!

Betty, that storm lasted only 40 minutes here, but BANG< BOOM< FLASH .. be happy Sailor is watching over you away from it all ..

Getting things together for brunch .. Lorna is out in this heat WALKING with her walking sticks .. she is surely committed to getting that prosthetic limb to behave itself the way SHE wants it to !!!

Betty are you getting some relief from the migraine? We are doing good here, little ones are fine and happy. Sadly this isn't the first time we have had to deal with this, The last one is spending major time as a guest of the state, where I truly hope he has made many "personal" friends.

Karen, that is so sad things like that go on! I am so glad she came forward and told someone!

Betty, I got the sewing machine out, and am cutting fabrics. I have some sewing to do for one of the swaps, and also the birdhouse blocks. September is almost here, and I need to get them done! Where did the year go too?

Betty, we are just back from PT and some errands. She is fine, but has fear for tomorrow in Court.

We had rain start last night and off and on all morning, is very overcast but not thunder bumpers.

No worries if I am not on a lot this week, we have something almost every day with Shannon, from Court, PT, Doctors, job interview...it is full. AND she can't drive my van, isn't on the insurance and I refuse to let her...so I have to play taxi!

Just stopped inside for a minute to cool down. It's 89 out and with the heat index it's 101. I'm working in the shed to be out of the sun, but there's no air circulation in there and my oh my it is a hot one!

Have all my molds set up for caps for the stems I made yesterday. Made a big mistake...this new "recipe" I'm using only takes 1/2 day to set up. I finished my pour at 1:00, so I didn't feel like unmolding last night and when I did so this morning, it was hard, hard, hard. No distressing but I did get the shine off the stems. Bet I don't do that again!!!

Cakes looked yummy. I made two peach blueberry breads last week and Bill was a big fan. Not too sweet and very satisfying. Got more peaches to make some more and freeze but I didn't get to the peaches fast enough and Bill ended up eating what was edible and pitching the rest. Might just be blueberry bread this time!!!

Glad to see Marion got home. Hope she can rest and recover now.

Prayers as always for those of you who need them and big hugs for Ann and those sweet babies.

We survived the storm. Heavy rain, lots of ant *now mostly gone* Mexican keyboard. I'm exhausted and frutrated. We lost electricity which caused my tv receiver to think it's been stolen and to shut dodwn. Don't know when my tv guy can reprogram it. Much worse is that my roof sprung a leak over my computer desk and my puter i dead. Did I mention I'm exhaused and frustrated? Thank God /again and agian/ for Tony who arrived this mrning and sorted out the things that got wet as water got under the doors in both bedrooms. I will wash what got dirty. Lots to hang on lines.

I'm tired and weepy but will recover.

The electrician who has made two appointments to come and tune up my a/c has not kept either appointment.

Dogs and Tony and I are fine. I mostly need some time to recover.

Don't worry is I don't post. Can use the internet cafe when I'M IN TOWN BUT i've lots of work to do at home.

Was able to read several chapters of the book I am presently reading, "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton .. just LOVE this book, soothes me ^_^

Finding FBook to be a bit challenging the past few days !! Freezes up, and, I can't play my SCRABBLE games LoL.

Best get a move on and put supper together, sometimes leftovers can be a challenge, always wish I had THREE microwaves !!!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and thoughts. Yes, in a couple of days I will be back on schedule.....will be a very different one after 3 years of traveling back and forth. Now maybe I can get some of my many projects completed. I wouldn't change a second of my travel time these past years as it allowed me time with mom but it is really going to be some adjustments. Hummm, wonder if Kim (daughter) can stand having me home more than 3 weeks at a time.

No rains here and not extremely hot. Chilly last night and wonderful not to have the a/c running. Best part was going downstairs to make coffee this morning and seeing all the birds flying around the lake. I had almost forgotten how serene and peaceful it was in the early morning hours.

I have added a new baby to my household.....a black and white Manx and believe me she is very active. She is about 3 months old now and every where.

Marion, glad to have you home as well, been missing you. You asked when I expect to be in Fort Myers, originally I was going to leave Monday of our Thanksgiving, let's see around the 14th of October but Darlene is undergoing much of what you went through, her Mom is not doing well, critical at times, doesn't want Darlene to change her plans, wants her to head south but Darlene is willing to fordo Florida for awhile so who knows.

Got news tonight re Ann..Toby was rushed back to the hospital, just got out, seems for lack of better description, his bowels got lazy and are not working..as for Alexandro he is over 3 lbs..hallaluliah Addy is struggling , if Melissa agrees to be at hospital from 5:30a.m. And monitors her progress or non progress all day, into early evening they will send addy to Mount Sianai hospital to be with her brother...not sure mentally and physically Melissa is up to it.

Off for more,drugs and settle in for another nap..been good, stayed in bed all day..aren't you proud of me?

Good for you Betty, It's a needful thing every once in a while to recharge the batteries.

I can so relate to Darlene's situation. Mom's can't be replaces so I am sure she feels best being closer for now. When you do go, let me know as I can make a trip down and we can make arrangements to get together this time. With the ups and downs with Mom, last time it was difficult.

Kim is indeed glad I am home. I saw her for 4 days when she returned from the Dominican Republic then left; again for 4 days when she came for the funeral. She has an extended day, no planning period, all classes are split...meaning 2 levels of Spanish each class so she is really tired when she gets home. Atleast I can go back to having meals ready and see she is eating better. Besides we do enjoy doing things together and I have missed that.

If the kitten slows down I will attempt to get a picture. Whirling dervish has taken on an entirely new meaning around here. She is at the stage she resembles a rabbit when she runs and jumps. Loves to "fetch" things and we can always count on finding pencils in our beds. Inspite of that, she is a joy to have.

We had major downpour here yesterday and flooding. Today was a light rain the majority of the day. The high today was 75 degrees. Wow, unusual temperatures for late August in Las Vegas. But we had no wind or lightning.

I got on here late. Marilyn, great news about your walking. Debbie, I pray you and Shannon have a good week. Betty, so sorry about your head. I am slowly learning everyone's names and what is going on in your lives.

I had a scare/surprise this morning. Went into the ensuite bathroom, was washing my face when a MOUSE ran over my foot!! I tried to remain calm, but, I couldn't, both Westies were on alert on the other side of the doors, and I was afraid to open a door. The mouse ran under the vanity, who knew there was a small hole there! DH has set a trap, have to use that bathroom as it has the raised toilet seat!
Gads, always something.....

Going with Lorna to try a quick shop at Walmart..wish me luck.

Yikes, Sharon, seems we had the same clouds, worrysome for sure. Hope you are feeling better today..

"M" trap will work..stay away from poison pellets like I did when I saw a mouse, remember how it went in died in the ceiling of my craft room and took weeks to get rid of..rather that than my touching one of those critters though...amazing how they find such a little hole and take advantage of it. Mine loved the washroom cabinet, ate half my hand made soap..drats, need to make another batch.

What was left in the garden ended up flattened yesterday, such heavy rains.

Just talked to Darlene, she sounds exhausted..said Mae fell yesterday, blood all over, now 24/7 in bed..amazing how some so weak can hold on for so long

Need to pick up solder, want to finish the lamp I'm doing and soldering Suzanne's piece so I can get it camed. Have a few places to visit, will be short visits then home I will be so I can enjoy the nice weather.

Darned mice can get in a hole small as a dime. Use care handling, don't touch trap pick up with a plastic bag and discard trap and all. Shouldn't even sweep up droppings dry, moisten a bit first, use paper towel and wash well afterwards. Horrid germs they carry.

Guess with fall around the corner they will all be looking for new homes..

Suzanne is off to the city in a few hours and I will be all on my own..did bring a few things with me (fall/halloween) to do but wether or not I'll do them is another question. Ordered and paid for a fall pattern, should call to see if it's in, would be nice to give DIL's each a fall throw..

Hmmm although I started so early with Christmas and have all kinds of projects made, have a few quilt tops that need quilting so before I get too enthused with starting some 'new' I should finish some 'needed' projects..know we are 4 months away but lordy time flies
