Ann and Darlene just left..was wonderful to have both and get some laughing in as well as fixing most of the world problems..both seemed relaxed but I could see them keeping an eye on their phones.

"M" congratulations on setting aside the walker..you are almost there..
Not a concert person, have had tickets from time to time for both rock and country and given them away..much rather watch on tv.

LindaKay, think one of the main reasons Kyle has done so well is because of all the fighting with the system to get him help..first step is accepting they need help!

Sorry to hear your allergies are acting up Debbie, could some of it flare up due to stress?

Got to ask you, Melissa has to find a home for her kitty, Ann would take it but because she has poison ivy around the house she's worried if kitty goes out and runs through it she will catch it?? True or false?

It is possible Betty, but not probable. It is the oil from the plant that does the damage. She would
have to roll in it and get the oils on her fur.

Honest, with all my animals, dogs, cats, grandcats & dog.....I haven't ever had that problem and
I am very allergic.

Brought a bag of goodies to keep me busy today, bevels for stained glass piece to foil, a set of 4 christmas balls to paint, fabric to cut for a small christmas throw..one way of keeping awake.

Was asked if I wanted to go to Washington the next long weekend, only two weeks away, mulling it but just not sure I want to sit in a car for 10 hrs. each way..hmmmm must decide by end of week, still time to mull it over

gorgeous day here, calling for high temps but breeze 20 mph..

I so enjoyed my afternoon/evening with Darlene and Ann, we sat on back deck,you know, it's the first time I've sat out there this spring..nice to see both relaxed even if for a few hours.

got an e-mail from Fabricland, they have a 4 day sale but only starts tomorrow..when I started pinning the back of Melanie's quilt backing to the frame yesterday I realized it wasn't wide enough..need to add more fabric, doesn't have to be the same..would love to go get it today so I can get it on the frame tonight but 40% off tomorrow, will just have to be patient 1 more day!

what projects will you undertake

I need to get two runners done for a DG friend that asked for them. Deejay/Susie asked for two runners, one with a spring theme, and one with a fall theme!

Gads! I need to learn how to sew.
I can mend and sew on buttons, and do dabble with cross stitch every so often, but sewing escapes me. The nuns taught us Latin instead.

Heat and humidity are back, will be in the mid 90s today.

Getting around okay with the cane, being careful.

Murray, our son, is driving a train out east. Usually he is in the office, but, every so often he has to engineer a train to keep up his certification as an engineer. Makes me kinda frantic.

Don't blame you "M" after the disaster in Quebec I'd be fretting as well..

75 here at the moment..calling for high of 79 then 57 tonight..nice sleeping weather.

Sewing keeps me out of mischief..do have to get back to some painting though.

As well "M" we do a Christmas workshop here, I always pick something that everyone can do, think this is our 5th or 6th year..I send out kits for those who register early in November..we've done some mighty fine projects..one year it was Victorian Santa's..think LindaKay made numerous ones

one year sleighs, santa's/snowmen, christmas cards etc.
you will have to join us this year, know you can do it lol

Have a tote full of odd/sods of Christmas fabric, tired of making christmas tops, almost enough made for 2 christmas's when quilted so just looking at the pile of fabric.

Betty, here in Texas, the insurance will only pay you for the vehicle is worth. If you owe more than that, you are still responsible for the balance.

Just 'might' take you up on that this year Betty .. I don't have a lot of 'equipment', but, I am great at improvising LoL

Murray made it to the destination, now bringing the train back to Thunder Bay .. it'll take the better part of today as he has to stop and pick up cars, and drop some off .. from the sounds of it, he's thoroughly enjoying this change from the computers in the office.

I was wondering if Mary was pulling our legs re the police, but, since you all know her better perhaps it was true LoL

We had a B A D night here last night .. about 2 miles east of us is what we refer to as 'the Firecracker Ranch' .. a fella who lives 6 months in Florida, and 6 months here has about 4 tractor trailers on his property filled with fireworks that he sells in the city for 'occasions' such as July 1/Labour Day yadda yadda .. well .. last night he decided to 'let off' a few .. good lord .. 40 minutes of kaboom, kabang, pop pop pop .. Lilly and Piper were very stressed .. up on our heads in the bed, so we were patting them and singing to them, and basically swearing at the guy .. finally at 1035pm it stopped. I meant to phone today to see if we have a 'noise by law' out here in the country.

Pretty much staying in in the air conditioning .. it's way to warm to be outside ..

Better get at the 'E' word .. have 3 sets left today ... getting less wobbly with the cane ..

Here in Texas, we are only allowed to set off fireworks on certain set days. You will be in serious trouble if you get caught with them any other time!

Linda, Insurance here is the same, but when Shannon got the loan....she got an extra insurance from the bank....that covered the difference "just in case" of an accident like what happened.
AND YES, she did get that insurance and it looks like it will be all paid but a minimal amount ($20).

Blood work was for me, a follow up from my booster shot to get my immune system going six weeks ago, to see if it is working.

Shannons are back and will call tomorrow to see what Doc says and next step....which is Endo dr.

Thank goodness Debbie she had the foresight to get the insurance..doesn't make it easier re no vehicle but certainly not having to pay a loss makes life less stressful.

Hope the news from Shannon's doctor is good as well...you sure are having a time with your immune system Debbie.

"M" know how Piper and Lilly sounded, Sailor was terrified as well, was almost tempted to see if they had dog ear plugs when came May 24 and July 1st.
Am sure you are feeling the benefits of your E's, soon the cane will be gone.

Mary, went to a new cafe called 'fresh a-fare'they cook, cure and smoke their meats, make their soups daily from scratch, bake their bread and tasties and have the gelato..

I had the 'lemon' was a bit too much for me, lordy tasted like I was eating fresh lemons, talk about tangy..will try the strawberry next time I visit..am sure if it tastes as berry as the lemon tated like lemons I'll love it.

LK (HUGS) Betty - which washington ? DC? or Seattle? Love the name "Fresh A Fare"... Gelato has a sharper taste/ tastier than ice cream for 2 reasons:
1. it is served at a warmer temp and does not freeze the taste buds as Ice cream does
2. has less cream than Ice Cream which tends to coat the tongue (like oil) so the taste comes through.... next time try something caramel or chocolate? something you love the taste of....

Sitting on the edge of my seat here...

Forgive my way of telling... Mom always said difficult for me to tell a story (and I'm in sales....go figure)

Background:
Three weeks ago DS needed $ for registering for school. He is paying for this semester but just needed a smaller amount. So glad he is trying to go back to school... .I gave it to him but said he had to "work it off - ie. mow the lawn, etc"
It has rained almost every day since so yesterday was first opportunity (AFTER Bday at MIL) for him to begin mowing.

He mowed from about 5pm - 8pm in 100* heat, came in got a shower and then put on a load of clothes to wash THEN he said to me...
"I am almost done paying off ALL my debt" (Meaning to me, also for a ticket, for other stuff, etc)
DEB- as you know my heart is melting about now.

8:35pm I go outside to get something out of my car and someone in a white truck with a trailer is parked near the trash. I call out... "do you all need anything, everything okay" and they mumble & drive off.
"Hubs... did you leave something out at the trash someone would want to take?" answer - no
"Brock where did you leave the LAWN MOWER".... DS rushes out ... no lawn mower.

Hubs goes completely OFF on DS... tells him to rush on look for the white truck & trailer, and then he leaves... before DS leaves he offers to pay for the lawn mower....(he has NO money)

I am working hard to keep my mouth shut (because Hubs is right... DS was wrong to leave it out)
That's when I almost called Deb....but ended up calling sheriff thinking they will laugh at me for stolen mower.

Gorgeous officer knocks at the door, (embellishing this part for Deb & CO) and proceeds to question type of mower, where was it left.

They found the white truck & trailer and suspects "Think we were throwing the mower away" (It was at least 6 feet from the trash AND I asked them a question therefore opportunity to ask me about the mower.

We got the mower back and didn't press charges... but it was very emotional for me seeing the events through DS's eyes... "Seeing the light" of being out of debt and immediately going back into debt and then being "Saved" by the police finding the gentlemen and returning the mower.

So it wasn't a very sexy or dramatic story but it was definitely fun telling you guys about the "Cops on my birthday" LOL

Oh goodness, that must have been something to have them drive off with the lawnmower, so glad you got it back!

You do, you just melt...because he was so close....and although he shouldn't have
left the mower there...the guys shouldn't have stolen it!!! And I am sure your sons heart
just dropped with DH yelling at him.

SO happy that it was found!! Just give him a hug...and tell him you love him.

AND, in my book, the policemen did great!!! I still would have tried to get a frisk...being
your birthday and all! LOL

Thanks LK.... ... seeing a son accomplish something he has worked on for years and then it all fall to heck in a handbasket..... I SO wanted to rush to his rescue... but knew it was the wrong thing to do.

DH knew what kind of day I had....and I came home at 8:15...after no dinner or anything to eat
since Noon....and found a wine cooler in the front of the fridge. It's still there...but I am eyeing
it for sure.

Going to be 98 - 100 F WITH humidity .. gag me .. but, the cucumbers are doing VERY well as is the lil bit of corn that's planted, the tomatoes are just suckin up the rays too.

Getting easier to walk with the cane, am SO hoping my physiotherapist doesn't pitch a fit when she comes for her visit on Thursday and finds out I'm not using that darned walker! MAN, you should see the paint i have scraped off the bottom of the walls above the baseboards .. yoi !!

Guess I best get at doing something, there's a big ol zucchini sitting here looking at me .. maybe make a loaf of some sort .. altho DH says he's going to make soup with it .. guess we'll see what transpires.
