"M" what is DH selling at sportsman show? Poor campers, nothing like looking forward to a weekend away all week only to be rained on.

Must be get together weekend for the young ones, about a doz or so pre teens all sitting on the lawn across the street having such a good time, almost tempted to go join them..

It cost almost $300.00 for both of them. That was clothes supplies shies and haircuts.

Betty, sorry I can't do it then, I feel bad. BUT I promised Nate I would drive him to Rochester and move him into the Dorms for the year. The family he is staying with will not be around to help.

LindaKay, sure doesn't take long does it..shoes are the budget eaters I'm sure..
Guess like in most areas the children are expected if not required to purchase items that were once supplied by board of education. Sure will be a help to the parents..what time do you have to meet their mom tomorrow, early mornimg??

Don't feel bad Debbie, always enjoy meeting up but Nate needs you and that is important, wonderful that he is going back to school...he's grown into a fine young man, a lot to do with the love and care you and Paul provided.

Going to sit down to a home cooked meal..made hamburger patties, new potatoes /corn picked this a.m. from the farmers garden, salad..all that is missing is fresh beans..cooked enough likely have enough for tomorrow's supper.

Mouth watering, maybe I will eat early.

Oh yummy....quit teasing us Betty. The grocery store I took you to was Jungle Jim's not Trader Joe's. Big difference. Trader Joe's is very small....Jungle Jim's is VERY BIG!!!! LOL. I like Trader Joe's, too. They have frozen mashed potatoes that taste JUST like real mashed potatoes with a little added milk or cream and butter. Nice for just once person, cause you can take out just what you need. They have really yummy nuts and cheap wine, too. ^_^

I got this craving for Cabbage rolls a little while ago, so I've been on the net searching for recipes for a casserole that will taste like cabbage rolls without all the work! Now I need to go get a head of cabbage. Have all the other stuff!

Waiting for DH to BBQ the chicken breasts, I would have, but, my track record with BBQing is kind of IFFy to say the least LoL

Betty, Gord is a marksman, I would say 'sniper' but that would make him sound dangerous LoL
He is totally a TARGET shooter .. he also hunts big game (moose, bear) so, he's selling bullets, rifles etc. it's all very confusing to me as the paperwork needed to buy, and or, sell is pretty involved .. both of his buds he has a table with are OPP .. (police)
Anyway, they did well and I now have some kind of quirky fan that'll sit on top of the woodstove and circulate the warm air outwards .. whatever LoL

Lindak .. WOW .. quite the expensive proposition going back to school .. I think I might have been lucky as I wore a uniform for my 5 years of high school .. one week in 6 we could wear 'normal clothes' while the skirts and blazers were dry cleaned.
Then I went into nursing, UNIFORMS again .. !!!

Guess I should try one set of 'Es' before supper .. supposed to be close to 100F tomorrow, gag me ..

Neck giving me the whatfore, just took somethink so I'm thinking to bed at least to make myself comfy is not to sleep.

checking in to let y'all know I am alive...feeling very tired and just worn out...it has been a very rough week getting kiddo ready to move...only got about 2 hrs sleep last night. Son had to be at airport for 3 am!!! and then I had to be to work for 8.and it is raining again.

If we get a strong breeze, I think there are going to be a lot of trees falling over around here...the ground is just soggy wet. air is too. weeds growing like crazy, and just can't get to pull them...it starts raining every day as I am walking across parking lot to come home, so then it is too wet and there are tons of skeeters!!! and most days it has rained earlier also....sure wish we could send some of it out west...

It has been raining most of the day which has cooled things off some but the ants are out in droves. Most of them are fire ants and they bite. No question why being staked to an ant hill was used as torture.. I've done a bit of screaming; sat in the outdoor bath tub for awhile and took a pain pill.

Betty, I have to drop them off at noon, DIL will meet me half way again, about an hour or so drive for both of us one way. I should be back home by 2.

Thunder, hugs coming your way, don't know what it's like having kids any further than 1hr or so away, bet your heart is breaking..add being tired and rain, not a good mix at all. On a bright side, he'll be with family that will care and love him.

Do you have any holidays left that you could take a few days off to recoup your energy?
Sewing usually calms you, perhaps a day at the sewing machine?

Katie,once in Florida on our back lot there was ant hills, fire ants, we were having a gathering, doing one of those mystery nights, wouldn't you know I set my chair right where there was a mound, don't think I've ever has anything hurt so badly..owwwwe, feel for you..storms see to bring out the critters.

LindaKay, won't be too bad travelling for a few hours, you will be home before you know it...you will find the house quiet till you readjust. Was Todd home for part of their visit.

guess Marion is on her way home tomorrow, sure hooe she'll not have to travel in all that rain. Her sister sue will be overwhelmed being on her own..so much care went into he aily routine re her mom..am sure there will be. Lot of phone gabbing going on so both can adjust to loss of their mom.

Got a good part of the glass window hanging done, not my colors but are that of Suzanne and Lenny's...at this stage of the g Mae I'm never pleased with outcome..just setting random left over pieces of glass along with bevels one would think would be quick but not...tomorrow's another day, will see if I can't at least get it tacked together".mayve the 6 lamp panels as well, ambitious aren't I..

It's raining harder here but the National Hurricane Center has dropped IVO down to a tropical depression. Huge relief as there was a big purple blotch around the eye of the hurricane just a couple of hours ago. Purple is the worst.

Don't think I'll get much sleep tonight. I have a bunch of food cooked so we are in the best shape possible. Doing OK except for the ants.

Katie .. ANTS, and FIRE ants at that !! I So feel for you .. had an Aunt who lived in Florida years back, she was an ANTAPHOBIC, she had all kinds of sprays and traps and gizmos to get rid of them, or, keep them OUT of her apt.
She even moved from a ground apt with access to the pool, for an apt on the 2nd floor!!
I sure hope things look better for you today.

Good morning! Betty meant to tell you to please give my best to your Aunt and Uncle. They are surely sweet people and I can still see them sitting there holding hands. Ain't love grand? LOL

I have to make some mushroom stems. The girls that came the other day took most of my smaller mushrooms and I have two more coming on Tuesday that will probably want smaller ones, too. So need to make stems so I can make caps tomorrow. Have made 5 troughs that are curing. Have orders for two, a rectangle and an oval. Made two more yesterday that will be unmolded on Tuesday. A round and another rectangle. At first the ladies both wanted rectangle then one of them saw my oval and decided she might like that instead, so I made two rectangles just in case she changes her mind again.

Has anyone seen the movie the "Butler"? Have plans with friends to see it on Tuesday. Sue and I were going to go see in last Friday, but life intervened and she had to cancel.

Yes, Todd has been here. He works 7-4, but is here the rest of the time.
I was out watering this morning, and found a huge hill of piss ants. We use wasp spray, as none of the sprays for ants work here.

"M" its your gang that got me gung ho on crab apple butter/jelly..of course once I heard there coud be worms there went the idea of just coring and cooking..took forever to cut in 4, pare the seeds, big pot now down to 1/4 it's size..decided to add sugar and have homemade applesauce instead..might even make another batch for Ruby's Applesauce cake that I love so much..doesn't it sound like a plan?

as for the stained glass, I'm this far, have pieces upstairs to foil, not working hard at it just piddling...

LindaKay, hoping not late as well, what are piss ants?? lol

Joyce you are doing well with your sales, guess it comes from belonging to all those garden groups..good for you..you won't know what to do with yourself come winter time, need to find another way of increasing your allowance.

well best I keep a move on, Sharon just e-mailed me asking what my plans are, still putting off telling her I'm not up to going. Mad at myself for not having the energy to do so but just not 100 percent yet

LOL! We call them piss ants, because the are little tiny ants, and when you get bit by them, they leave a really hard like pimple, and it hurts and itches for a few days, all they are good for is pissing you off, so we call them piss ants!

Ants are so curious, they USED to fscinate me, I'd lay on the chaise lounge on the patio and watch them 'do their thang', then, I got'em in the house, NON biters just pesky and into the fruit basket etc .. lost my curiosity for them right there and then !!

Pretty quiet here bouts too .. Gord and Lorna are our sharpening lawnmower blades in the garage, i think they must be nuts !!

Had a wee chuckle a bit ago .. I was heading into the bedroom to do set 3 of 'Es' .. shaking my head wondering how older people can be expected to do this FIVE sets of 'Es' a day, picked up the booklet I follow if I forget what I'm doin .. here .. in BIG BOLD LETTERS across the top is this "Exercises to be done 2-3 times a day as tolerated' !!!! Again, 'paint me green and call me Gumby', I took for granted that it was 5x/day like in the hospital .. lets just say, I'm DONE for today !!!! LoL

Norm and I are in the unpacking state today. We are getting a handle on all we have and what we may need. We went to Walmart and bought a few things - kitchen stuff and a new lightweight vacumm. I swear we will be putting things away for another week!!!
May go to our daughter's tomorrow but we are not sure. My son returns to Colorado on Monday and I want to spend some more time with him...

Big issues up here with our lakes, if the water levels keep decreasing as such alarming rate they will soon be puddles! Is the Colorado River also low?

Think depending on size of glass pieces I only have about 4 pieces left to cut and tack..although I'm not a fan of orange nor of ultra modern that it will fit into Suzanne' decor.

Surprising how much solder it takes to tack so will finish, set it aside until next weekend when I finish the soldering and have it camed then another Xmas gift done, ok, you all laughed when I started Xmas week just after opening Xmas gifts. Lol. Well, it's now as of today only 4 months away! You say 'still lots of time', we'll see.

Dave says he wants to paint, but I don't think we will do that right away. the walls are very dark purple. He wanted it black but dad would not allow that, the dark purple was their compromise.

Believe they have new paints on the market that you won't have to pre prime even though the wall color is dark..boys, remember my cousin painted his ceiling black once, every time we entered the room we ducked, allusion. Lol

Greg just left, of all times for him to drop in..my head is pounding like crazy, barely lift it and he comes to put laser on sewing machine so it can be used in quilting..told him some other time, nope, had the time so let's do errr..

said it wouldn't take more than a few minutes and a few minutes it did..then wanted me to show him how the frame worked and did it make things easier for me, said Mel's mom wants to come and see it work, she too is interested in one..all the while I kept thinking, home you go

Did ask me if I'd make a batch of chile, told him I would..asked that I let him know and he'd come help..Roger did the pickling, would make over 1,000 jars of misc to last us the winter, when we built he made a lovely cold cellar..when he died Greg would get chili from Roger's mom and dad, the had gardens and made and sold pickles, chili, jams, now they are both gone so he has no stock left

Will go in search of tomatoes this weekend and do a few npbatches..one way to make brownie points.

I am back home and tired. I met my son in Uvalde, an hour from here. as my DIL kept calling and changing the time. I told her I could not wait till 4 to meet here, so my son drove over and picked them up! We had a nice lunch at Applebee's. and I came back home. getting ready for bed soon!

Well I am back home and exhausted. Traveling yesterday wasn't to bad....missed all the rains but did encounter many college students returning. That is bad enough. The Highway Patrol was having a field day writing tickets.

No rain again today but my sister told me this morning she had another 2" late yesterday afternoon. Yard is flooded yet again and mosquitoes are horrible.

I am truly concerned what the future holds now for her. She has scheduled something for practically every second of the day......doesn't know the meaning of "take a break". I think she is still in denial but only time will tell. Me? I totally collapsed when I got home.....exhaustion, relief of being back home after 5 weeks and of course, the reality I won't be on arranging things here in order to go help with mom. I am just very grateful I was there assisting Sue with her eye surgery and did have 2 very good weeks visiting with mom.

Temps are dropping in the 60's here at night and oh is that a relief after being further south.

Thunder, waved and through you a hug as I passed through Wildwood. I did stop and visit with a very dear friend in Gainesville before coming home home.

Betty, when will you be going back down to Ft. Myers. Might can arrange a meeting now.

The Butler.... we went to see it ... my birthday because we thought we would see a lot of the cars from our Red Stick Model A CLub in it... and didnt'.

I do have 2 good friends that had parts in the movie and glad to see one of them (I didn't catch the other) but I was very disappointed in how political the movie was.

It was a good movie though. ... I go to the movies to be entertained... not for a political pep rally.... my opinion. and I really have not attended a movie for many years...that being said....we enjoyed it....

Perhaps it was the change in the barometric pressure, looks like you got the storm we had yesterday morning .. BOOMER for sure.

ANOTHER scorcher here .. shocked myself by getting up and walking from the bedroom to the kitchen WITHOUT my cane, totally forgot it !! Then, I realized, I can WALK !!! Not 100% steady, but, pretty near ^_^

Doubt today will be very productive, good thing i have a good book !!!

Terrible storm going on, how can one sleep..never heard thunder so loud..So black out there I almost thought I had slept all day right into the dark of night.
