Joyce, how is Bill, did he get his blood rechecked?

St. Louis #1 Cemetery

Nicholas Cage - family tombstone...apparently this tombstone was to be kept a secret but everyone knows about it now

Odd when you see tombstones from 1700-1800 and then look at this modern piece, personally I don't think it should be allowed..

no more than a few gravesites it sits..right near Marie Leveau's grave

We just got home from doing just that, Debbie. She said it will either be tonight or tomorrow when they call him. He said I hope it's tonight cause this will be my 5th day with out coumadin and I don't feel very comfortable not taking it!

Stopped at Hobby Lobby to pick up a big vase for mushroom stems and although they had 50% off, they didn't have any of the size I wanted. So I bought stuff to make flowers for Mother and Dads grave site. They're Fallish, which isn't really what I wanted, but they didn't have much selection for other colors that were on sale.

Still need to get pictures of mushrooms for LK!!!

Do you know what those words mean?

Lyndonville, NY

Joyce, I think it means "everything from the one" or similar. I have seen
different versions but this is the most frequent.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I love the pictures! Thanks for posting them. I hope that is not all of them?

All for one, is what it says on Nicholas Cage's tombstone!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Joyce, doesn't DH just get a finger poke and results are right away?
That's what our INR clinic does .. hecuva wait for your DH

Cool and breezy here today .. went outside after my shower and enjoyed sitting in SOME sun ..

My nail lady is going to be surprised I haven't lost a one .. but, haven't gone to the salon because there are three steps up and into .. I should now be able to do that. Thank heavens for Gord .. he'll carry my walker up for me .. sometimes I feel so useless .. gawd, this is 'quite the bump to jump' !!

They never did a finger poke for mine, or DD either Marilynne...always a small tube.

Honest, I hate the finger pokes! LOL

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

It's much like a diabetic glucose monitor, the nurse pokes your finger, puts the blood on a slide, and, in less than 15 seconds you have the result.
Perhaps they're drawing for a PT AND. PTT?

Just got in, Lordy sun was shinning and we were having a downpour..not sure if rain is a good thing or not..did want to cut grass now I can't!

Have supper ready, waiting for Greg, my sewing machine was delivered so he will drop it off..not sure I want to try it. Did stop by Joann's yesterday before crossing the border, bought backing fabric for black/white quilt, black for binding, Christmas fabric for binding and batting so anxious to get Melanie's quilt done so might have to take a chance on the machine.

Don't want to just sit or there will go this evening, want to accomplish something..

Did receive new leaders for the quilting frame a few weeks ago, maybe I will replace the ones that we're temporary with these new ounces IF I get ambitious..miss crossing off a few 'to do's off my list

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was going to say "m" you are like our Debbie, so knowledgeable re health issues then I remembered you are a nurse. Lol. Debbie should have been.

Lyndonville, NY

"M" I have had many finger pokes...they always make me jump! I would prefer a blood draw...I am big baby! LOL My daughters are the same way. Carrie even said "put in an IV, cut me open, but do not poke my fingers!"

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Debbie..how is Shannon doing?

Lyndonville, NY

Waiting on the second set of blood tests to come back. We were in the ER today for a wrenched
ankle and she has an air splint on it. Got the name and number of an Endocrinologist he wants her
to see, but said wait til these tests come back.

I tell you, this cortisol level in her system....she is even harder to handle than usual and it is driving me crazy. Trying to remember it is the illness is not easy when she is outright mean and nasty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh Debbie, sending hugs! Know it's the illness but sometimes that doesn't justify mistreating people...you too are going through your own hell

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had wanted to do something, anything tonight but body said no! Drats
Going to bed instead..

Night night everyone!

with memories of Tubby (HUGS SHIRLEY!) I thought you gals might enjoy this.....

As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, I rapidly realized that I don't really give a rat's hinny. It's the tortoise's life for me!

1.. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.

2.. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.

3.. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.

4.. A tortoise doesn't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years. And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so. I'm retired. Go around me!
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Now that I'm older here's what I've discovered:

1. I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

2. My wild oats have turned into prunes and all-bran.

3. I finally got my head together, and now my body is falling apart.

4. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

5. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

6. If all is not lost, where is it?

7. It is easier to get older than it is to get wiser.

8. Some days, you're the dog; some days you're the hydrant.

9. I wish the buck stopped here; I sure could use a few.

10. Kids in the back seat cause accidents.

11. Accidents in the back seat cause kids.

12. It's hard to make a comeback when you haven't been anywhere.

13. The only time the world beats a path to your door is when you're in the
bathroom.

14. If God wanted me to touch my toes, he'd have put them on my knees.

15. When I'm finally holding all the cards, why does everyone want to play chess?

16. It's not hard to meet expenses . . . They're everywhere.

17. The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

18. These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter . . . I go somewhere to get something, and then wonder what I'm hereafter.

19. Funny, I don't remember being absent-minded.

20. DID I SEND THESE TO YOU BEFORE..........??????

Oh Mary, that just made my night! Miss that man so much! His humor and guidance got us through some tough days.

Are you home and rested up?

Thunder, know that mean so much to you and treasure that brotherly love.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. No, Betty, I am not overdoing - at least not yet.... We do have the keys to our new home and have been bringing stuff down. Last weekend we put a big dent in moving all the totes I had packed and then Stacy and Norm moved most of my quilt room furniture down. This week I am finishing up on the packing here and unpacking down there so I can reuse the totes. All the furniture that is going is ready to move except for this computer stand and that won't get taken apart until Friday. Norm needs to be able to communicate with work through Friday night. So I'll try to pop in to say hi when I can. Right now I'm off to make sure I have goodies left for Sean. Today is the last day he spends with Grammy before we move on Sat. Got to make it special for him!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Enjoy that last day with him! Glad to hear you have help with moving!

Talking to Darlene, her mom is in hospital not expected to live!!!

Don't know how much more she can take

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh no! Sorry to hear that! Sending lots of prayers!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so sorry to read your message regarding Darlene's mother. Like Ann, she has had a rough couple of years. My prayers are with her for sure.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

thanks Barb and LindaKay..she just telephoned me to say that they are testing as to determine if no more attempts to make her well will go on..

then there is Ann again..she's at the hospital today with her nephew, removing cancer tumour again, doesn't look good..said she will stay with him today, tomorrow and trying to come home for a few days..

they've had to put breathing machine on Alexandro and put Addy back in incubator

drats/drats and more drats

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear all the sad news. Sending lots of prayers!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Dratting right along with you Betty. Hugs to all, not a good day.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Jeeze Looeeze .. poor Darlene .. enuff already, and Ann as well ..
As always, theses folks remain in my thoughts, and, in my prayers ..

I went O U T today !!.. DH took me for breakfast at a really nice restaurant .. just had poached eggs and toast, but, it was so good ^_^
He had an awesome looking omelette .. said it was delish ..
Then, it was off to have my nails done !! Haven't had them done since MAY!!!
Well .. it was kinda tough .. 3 steps up into the salon .. Gord carried the walker up and I did my best to 'DO THE STAIRS' .. lawsie, I was a wreck by the time I got in. I had had to DO 4 stairs up and down before I could be discharged, and, I did do it in the physio dept the day before I left, but, we live in a ONE storey home, ranch style, so, I have had no stairs to negotiate.
Best keep up my exercises, the physioterrorist comes for her weekly visit tonight, must tell her the exercises against gravity are killin me .. have to be done though.

I wrote a letter to the editor re the care I rec'd throughout this whole deal, phone rang at 7am this morning, my brother telling me it had been published in our local paper .. have had a few emails and calls today about it ..I simply wanted to give praise where praise was due .

Cool one here today, AGAIN, doesn't keep the bugs away .. dang hearty blackflies and skeeters! I do see we are due for some warmer weather nearing, and on the weekend, mid to low 80s ^_^
Lorna's 55 BDay is on Saturday .. I had wanted to do a 'party', but, I think it'll have to wait ..

Mary .. loved the 'ponder' you posted :-)
DH is convinced that walking through certain doors erases his memory re what he was going to look for !!!

Should start to chop veggies for supper .. one job I am very good good at as I can sit on me bum !!!

Hope everyone is doing A OK

Mary, loved your post and I also miss Tubby and his sense of humour, even the months he was so I'll he managed to make us smile..

Karen, how are you doing today, better?

"M" kudos to you for giving praise..seems we are all able to express ourselves verbally when things go wrong but few take the time to be appreciative. Do you have copy of what is in the newspaper?

Joyce, did Bill get any news on the tests

Lordy, it's 54F here with high winds and light mist..not what I've been used to this past week but not so sure I don't enjoy it better.

Imagine, a few trees on m y way home are turning orange..fall co
Lord's already?

Paul was pleased, loved the onyx lamp Suzanne and I bought him, then dropped off tarps for his boat on his way to the city..dripped in at 4:20 to pick up some documents and I told him my trusted office sewing machine did the trick..all fixed
Going to take a hot bath and a few magazines and get comfy in bed, who knows just might fall asleep

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thanks Betty, feeling a bit better today, every day a bit more so.
