(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen, have tou been sick? Hope your feeling better soon!

Happy Birthday to you and all of your family Sharon!

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Thanks Linda. I keep saying, I cannot believe I am 71. My body doesn't think I am 71. Still going like the energizer bunny. I strained my hamstring and I tell everyone I did it running a 5k. Actually I did it gardening. Just to stubborn sometimes and do not ask for help.

I am looking forward to seeing my son and his family. We only see them once a year because my husband cannot travel because of Parkinson. He is a doctor and he said he was going to try and find a conference to go to in Las Vegas this year. He has to attend 2 a year. So we shall see.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes Linda, I've been down all week with something. Hubby took me to urgent care on Wed. and they said UTI even though I have none of the symtoms. Gave me a scrip for sulfa drug horse pill. Makes me angry that my Dr is in an office with 8 others yet they can never see you on short notice, just say go to urgent care. I've been down so long that I reel like a drunken sailor. Trying to walk around more

Victoria Harbour, ON

Gab with you all in a bit

Joyce we are in Elizabethville Kentucky, likely 21/2 hour drive from you..yep, unless something happens dropping in for quick hi

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Lookout, Betty is on the road again, wouldn't be surprised if Willie Nelson was perched on her roof singing that song.

Karen, sorry to hear your still suffering. I sure don't agree with the UTI Dx either
Sulfa can really drag you down, it did me last Oct. Had to toss it. I was given it for an auto immune disorder.

Sharon, age is just a number
Congrats on all the birthdays!!

Spent a few hours outside today. Our Ash trees are ok so far,
Surely don't want anything to happen to our Sugar Maples!!

Dogs are asking for supper, best get a bustle on.

We sang that song many times on our trip! LOL

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh boy!! Thought they were coming tomorrow! Better go jump in the shower! Need to straighten a bit as well!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Marilynne, I'm agreeing. NOT taking any more of those. I'm hungry but looking at or smelling food sets my stomach rolling. I think that's why I feel so weak, wanna eat just can't. Diabetic too I'm sure I'm on sugar lows much of the time. Even the fruit water I usually drink all day upsets me, I've cut it in half so the flavor is diluted.

Ocean Springs, MS

Sending prayers to all of you! Been having a bout with my colitis for a month, and I'm over it. I force myself to eat, but not nearly as much as I used to. Seeing the doctor soon for check-up and to schedule another colonoscopy. This too shall pass!

Betty, your road trip sounds like what I'll be doing in September. i keep calling my cousin to ask for the route we'll be taking and she hasn't even figured it out yet! I know I land in DC on Sep 23, go to memorials and then head north to Niagara Falls. After the Fallls, we are heading to Bennington, VT, for some shopping time. Then to the Maine coast to see lighthouses, further down to Massachusetts to Martha's Vineyard, and maybe one day in NYC! It's gonna be fast and furious! LOL

Sorry to hear about the trees being damaged/killed for some of you. something killed my pecan tree! Last year, one half of it fell... then the other half fell in May. Outside, it looked fine. Had leaves and developing pecans, but the inside was just rotten! Sad because it had been on the property since I was a child. My grandmother used to threaten us if we tried to pick the green pecans! Thankfully, I have two babies in various parts of the yard. Plan on moving one this winter because it's growing under another tree. Crossing my fingers!

Everyone have a good evening. Kids are coming later so I may not be back until Monday! They hog the computer when they are here!

love to all ♥

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear you could not get in to see your regular Dr Karen. Hope your feeling better soon.
Cookie give Betty hugs from us please?
Sharon enjoy your visit.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Karen I had a UTI that I couldn't feel either, but it was there.

YAY SUSAN!!!!!! Congrats!!!!

Betty I bet you're at Cookies! Or just left!! Hope you are having/had a wonderful time!

Marilynne you better not overdo it, and at the same time you better keep up with the therapist! There are your chores LOL!!!

Debbie so sad about the tree, that sucks!! I used to ask my grandfather, who was the boss for the city tree crew, "Why do trees have to have roots that ruin things?"

Well ladies, it's bedtime, take care and be safe!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, can't chat, sending hugs and prayers to all.

Did stop in to cookies, got the hugs, so glad I got to see Crissy,Mary and Joyce

Heading out, if all works out I'll be home around five.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Drive safe Betty, sounds like your going to be so tired when you get home! Hope the others are sharing the driving?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

It's always wonderful to see Betty and Company!!! She's in a lot of pain. I know she's anxious to get home and really relax. Susanne is having some issues so she isn't sharing in the driving. Just Betty and Rita for right now. They were only here for a tiny bit. After 6:00 when they arrived and they hadn't eaten yet. Still hoped to get in 100 miles before stopping for the night.

Just had a real treat! My son made pancakes and bacon for us all. They were so good. No box mix for him! All from scratch. I served the maple syrup I brought Bill from Canada that friends of Betty make and it was delicious, but the pancakes were so good I ate mine with just butter.

Already distressed the mushrooms I made yesterday this morning. Little Emma helped. Now I'm going to try a new "recipe" and make some more stems today. Have a lot of orders so need to have a nice selection for those that come.

Hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WHOOPEE Betty and the gurls made it to you Joyce .. clever wee travellers are they.
The food sounds wundabar !! Haven't had pancakes in an age !!!!
I'm hoping the stress of driving will seep from Betty's neck and shoulders when she gets home .. nothing worse than a cranky neck.
I have used flexeril for it in year past and it is a great drug ..

DH walked in with 8litres of fresh picked blueberries last evening. Had bought them at a roadside stand along the way.
Have a deep dish BBerry pie in the oven now, took 8 cups of berries, but, holy doodle is there lots left.
Son and family are due this aft, so maybe I can give some to them .. blueberries are supposed to be SO good for you .. course, I could always make muffins or a crisp.'
Truth be told, that pie took a lot outta me, gawd, my stamina is NOT where it's supposed to be at !!!
I think Gord will freeze a goodly amount to use on his cereal in the morning, he's a Type 2 diabetic, controlled with diet, exercise and a med.

Yesterday was SO brilliant, a wonderful summers day, today is kinda BLAH, dreary .. every so often I think I see some sun ..

Guess I'll sign off and go and attempt to clean up my mess ..can you believe this .. I wore BLACK to back a pie, it's now black and WHITE, flour all over it LoL

Anyone who needs a hug (or not) I'm sending a big old Canadian BEAR hug to you all.
Have a splendiferous day all !!

So glad to hear Betty got to stop for a bit and see you Cookie, and those fresh pancakes sound so good! Post pictures of your mushrooms when you get them done please?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay, LK. I'll take the camera out in a bit and so some snapping!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

The pie was a hit, and, there are lots of berries frozen for cereal topping.
I guess tomorrow I'll find a creative way to use up the other 4 cups .. either muffins or cobbler I'm thinkin ..

Nice to spend time with family today .. miss my son if I don't see him in over a week.. has to be tough on those of you whose children are days away ..

I'm tired, so, I'm shuttin'er up .. nighty night for me, AFTER I do those danged exercises LOL

"M" So happy you spent time with family, and those berries sound delish!!!

I miss my son so much. This is the longest I have ever gone without seeing any of my kids, and it has been six months now. He is at least a 2 day drive away. it is very hard. After 3 daughters...our son was MY special gift. The girls were all "daddy girls". LOL

Bet Betty is home and collapsed into bed!

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My youngest son lives 3 hours from here, and my oldest lives 8 hours away.
I see my youngest son about every 2-3 months, and I see my oldest maybe once a year. They both stay busy and have thier own lives with families! They are both tattoo artist, and my oldest has been in Sturgis for the bike rally.
Betty sure hope you got home safely, and get a good nights sleep! Can't wait to see pictures and hear stories from your trip.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Checking in gals, just got in a few minutes ago..nice to have the trip behind me, everything went according to Hoyle re planning and financing..proud of myself !

this afternoon I took money from the kitty and bought us dinner, gave them a refund soooo that made me smile..

Sorry I couldn't spend more time at Joyce's but know she understood, between a few of us in pain needing meds we drove on..had intended to go just south of Joyce for supper but we forged on.

Just looked at the clock, want to phone Ann but likely she is in bed if she is home so I'll get an update on the babes in the morning..

Off for hot bath
Get to chat with you tomorrow

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi - yes, prayers answered, re: job.
I will be working for a co called Complyworks - they make sure that companies working for other companies meet compliance standards/requirements in licensing, insurance, etc, before they can work on site. In other words, Complyworks is the "middle man" assisting that all I's are dotted, and t's are crossed.

I'll be doing inbound customer service work. They had originally said that they wanted me to do the (boring/tedious) work of verification - their words, not mine - but now are having me do something more interesting - talking to the vendors and clients. I may be getting a free parking spot too (bonus!!).

btw - saw the comment re: look for a job while I'm working for this company.... no, won't be doing that - I'm 6 years from retirement, and just want to "nail my feet to the floor". Besides, this is a friendly company, and as I know the owner and his wife (my good friend, Judy), I don't think there will be any problems.
This is a permanent, full-time position, with full benefits.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey All;

Got in around 4pm today after 6 hour drive alone from Ft. Walton. SO glad I went though... it was a very emotional weekend....

I'm so so happy ... got to see Betty Suzanne and company.... passed by oh so quickly...

will try to post more later but I'm exhausted from 600 miles drive by myself within 3 days...
Glad for you Susan
(HUGS) Deb... missing DS.....
waving to all

Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Thanks Mary, so happy you had a good time and are home safe!!!
Can't wait to hear about the trip from you and Betty.

Get some rest!

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, and Mary, so glad you both home, get a good nights sleep!

Susan, so glad you landed that full time job with benefits!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning!
Welcome back to your homes Betty and Mary .. you have got to be exhausted !!

LindaK, my son works for Canadian Pacific Rail in the office, seems every second day he hears rumors that they are going to 'transfer' someone out west to British Columbia!! A 3-4 day drive from Thunder Bay .. but, so far, so good !!

Susan, all I can do is wish you all the best in your new position .. just nice you have a job, with, FULL benefits YAY ..

Have no voice today, have no idea where it went, but all I'm doing is squeaking, dogs think it's funny, but, as I'm alone for the morning, I'm hoping the phone doesn't ring !
Going to try to finish off the blueberries by making muffins .. hope I'm ok to do that .. feel good now, but, half way through, that could change.

Off to check FBook

Have an awesome day

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Glad all are home safe and sound.

Susan so happy you finally have a lasting job.

Still a bit puny but getting there.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Did I hate to get out of bed this morning, could have slept all day!!!
Getting a bit old for the kind of vacation we took, add pain and ouch..

Upset by Riley being missing since I left..sure hope the past week is the week that her other family were on holidays and she will be home tonight..drats, worried about her.

took so many photo's

just catching up with a few things then I'll be back to read and gab

Called Ann but she wasn't home so called June, almost afraid to hear the update just incase but June said there are no changes, Addy, our little lady is fighting for her life with every breath she takes..issues with Alexandro as well.

prayers would be appreciated

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending lots of prayers for those two little ones! They are fighters, they will make it and be nice and strong!

Victoria Harbour, ON

glad you are feeling better Karen..

Susan, sounds like a job made in heaven, here's hoping it's your final workplace

Lindakay, I sure thought of you when I was in the south..omg the heat and humidity..think it did us in lol

Your posts "M" sure remind me of the old "M"..can tell you are in full recovery mode.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Many prayers from the heart for the 2 wee babies as they fight for their lives, as well as prayers for the families involved .. such a stressful time.

Betty .. good to hear you're back, but disappointed to hear about the pain factor .. as for Riley, perhaps she has gone 'on vacation', we once had a cat, Poppy, who did that each May .. we'd see her walking around the perimeter of the property, but, she was quite happy to 'go solo' until the nights cooled down in September, then she came back and fell right into the routine with the other 3 cats !!! Hard to believe there was a time when we had 4-5 cats and 2 dogs !!!
I must have been crackers .. hmmmm, I do think I was LoL

Blueberry muffins are made .. but, I STILL have at least 2-3 cups of fresh berries left. Maybe I'll look up a loaf recipe?

LOL, the phone did ring while I was the only one home .. my dentists office, how embarrassing/funny .. I was just kind of 'squeaking' .. the receptionist started to laugh, as did I, and she said she'd call back this aft ..

Making dog food this aft. DH is cutting up the veggies and fruit as I type this. and, the meat is thawing a bit before it gets portioned, spoiled pups ^_^
Wouldn't have it any other way though. We'll likely bag about 5 weeks worth of food .. takes the 3 of us about 2 hours to accomplish it.

Take care everyone, and, enjoy your day

ROADTRIP 2013

Won't bore you with a whole lot of photo's but will certainly post a few from each location so you can have a taste of Roadtrip 2013.

With all the girls having difficulties with broken toes, water on the knee, me with shoulder problems etc (thank goodness Rita was feeling good), we had talked about all wrapping ourselves in bubble wrap so no more injuries would happen sooooo here is the start.

I leave the office with Rita to pick up pizza and Linda at the court house.Just pulled in and sat and waited for 1:00pm to come as Linda had to work that long.

While waiting we were looking at everyone coming out of the courts..here this odd looking woman came out and Rita said 'that lady is covered in bubble wrap' never, never thinking anything of it..she looked so sad..Rita said 'I don't think she's coming this way' and I said 'I'd take a photo, maybe she has injuries that she has to protect herself, poor soul' so we didn't want her to see we were looking at her so we turned around..all of a sudden a know at the window and there was the lady...Rita yells "OMG IT'S LINDA?" out we went almost pee'ing our pants from laughter..why we didn't catch on earlier I'll not know..she sure did get us..

laughed for hours that the lightbulb wouldn't have turned on after all the talk of bubble wrap but guess in the excitement of leaving it didn't register..
