**Sweet Interruptions** Room 264

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Faye, it sure is nice talking to you!! As I had said, don't have to say much here and none is beholden to post daily. We do look forward to news from our sistahs since a monologue is quite boring.. especially from me!! Lolol!!! When you need some sweet interruptions from your daily chores, come on down! Am so glad that the prayer shawl lifted you and Ray. God makes use of us!
We'll have that visit one day, and Lanakila is also not too far from you!

Never been to any fairs since I moved here Lanakila. But had my fill when living in Louisiana. There it's held in the summer too and mercifully the mosquitoes didn't care for loud music!

Thank you again for the birthday wishes. I had a fantastic day and Kel presented me with one free day of not having to feed nor groom the cats!!! Papa confused them when he started using the flea comb on them!!
They were very well behaved yesterday. (maybe the weather being cool got something to do with it)
Yes Carole, I'm a cat hoarder!!

Muffin needs attention and Sis, LK is right.. give him old newspapers or better yet, store things away where he can't reach!

I'm in the bestest group here who don't get into a hissy fit when weeds seem to be the main attraction in their gardens!!! Praise God!!! There was a Facebooker, who wanted to please his mother and weeded her garden. She was devastated and told him that the weeds in their carefree ways, put out beautiful blossoms. She said that he should appreciate the non-divas of the gardens. And as long as she lives only to please herself, she doesn't care what her neighbours think!
My kind of woman!

Some blooms to share with you. Rose of Sharon loves the rains! Love opening a door and see lovely blossoms greeting me. My bicolor and an old fashion pink one. Pinks are allowed only in my garden!
Yellow brugs on the back porch. It's a potted noid. Survived the rains when I can't drain it. Tough fella.
Hydrangeas for Marion..
Grapes playing Peek-a-boo. Never made any grape jelly. I let the neighbour's kids pick all the blueberries and grapes.
Only the Japanese persimmons and figs will I keep for myself!

That amaryllis bed that Kel had prepared for me... well he'll have to make another bed! Will be happy looking for more daylilies!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow, dahtzu. That's quite a list!

The gal who mows for us brought beautiful fresh squash today when she came to mow.

Oh my Faye!!! I have a few named ones in your collection. Most of mine, are lost tags so I rename some after my sistahs here!
Is Cindy's Touch by Grace, pink or orange. I know Cindy's into hybridizing, I wonder if she had patented any yet.
So many daylilies now have similar colorings and characteristics, yet having different names! You'd find one that cost a bomb and then would find the same dl that's half the cost but under a different name.

Thank you so much for your offer.

Here are a few of mine..Art Imperial, Autumn Jewels, Beloved Deceiver, Choke Cherry Mountain and Deeply Dramatic. I got these from Marietta Gardens, easy to trace the names!
That spider "ChokeCherry Mountain" is overtaken by weeds now!

The first one is known now as "Face of the Stars", but when I purchase that from MG for only $8, it was called something else, and of course the price went up and the name renewed! Sister Wanda's Blessing.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oops.. forgot the pic. This here is Footloose and Fancy. Face of the stars is the second one.
I love spider lilies!! You certainly could start a daylily business, Faye!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Drats!! The elusive Face of the stars!!!

Kel loves Electric Orange Marmalade.
Belle Isle Eye.
Bonny
Raspberry Masquerade

Sis Kathy, you are so lucky!!! I'll eat them raw!

I remember what the name was before it became Face.. it's Robe for a Queen. Imagine, from 8 to 18!

More of my daylilies. I don't divide them as they're slow in multiplying in our poor soil. Remember Sandra Mills from Mid South? She got me started on DL obsession!! She gave me quite a few this year.
My old Spider Miracle.. Bonny is thrice the size.
Japanese Butterfly
think this spider is Octopus Hugs

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

These are some that had lost their ids.
Being that I'm not in the DL trade, I rename them after a few sistahs.

Karen's Passion (siliolegma)
Cartwright's Creation (Linda Kay here..blushing pink)
Jax Folly (JSXTIGER.. wild one)
Kizzy's Kiss (Kizmo)

When I come across more unknowns... believe me there are plenty that I can't reach with all the briars.. I'll just go down the sistahs list of names!

Faye you have a wonderful list of lilies!
Beautiful blooms Jaye.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Faye has a much more extensive collection LK!! That's a lot of work for one woman! Goodness, she told me yesterday she had to spread out bags of mulch or was it dirt.... what a woman!
I think I'll stick to under 50.. only !!
Faye's must be the neighbourhood's showcase for blooming DLs! Would love to see that!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

nite sis

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I bet her gardens are beautiful!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wow.. she's in bed already? She certainly need the extra rest.

I'm turning in as well. Went through Faye's list looking for pics, and I stopped at "O". So many beautiful dls.

Good night everyone. Won't be on tomorrow morning, see you in the p.m.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

LK, sorry cross posted. I think so too. Faye is undoubtedly passionate about DLs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Cookie!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

hey what flavor

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Well finally back inside. Boy is it humid today. Have been remaking labels for some of the DL's that were faded. I love the Daylilies also love Iris & Glads as well as Angel Trumpets. We have all red clay so my beds are raised and that is why I have to handle so much soil and mulch. In late April I enlarged two large beds in the back yard and this Fall will enlarge the bed that is the length of the fence. Have to, I have to divide Iris and Daylilies.
Expanded this same area in 2011.
Gosh! looking at the beginning of the 2011 project, I have to go outside and turn the soil bags out the other way, this will give me more extension space. I'm using the bagged soil to kill the grass. These are just the beginning bags, there will be twice more plus mulch after plants are in.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Faye. Your gardens are beautiful. You have spent a small fortune miracle grow soil!

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Hi LK, Thank you and yes we have spent quite a bit on soil, mulch and plants. As long as God gives me the strength and $, I will continue until I drop. I'm old as dirt and love playing in it.
This is one street side view of the back of our home. The last picture is the latest cut back truck load of pear cactus, cleanup, resoiled and mulched project.
There are two of these large kidney shaped beds in the front yard. Wish the picture showed the entire bed...it's big, and the pic. doesn't show half of it.

Faye your place is wonderful! I don't blame you for playing in the dirt! You have d one an excellent job!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Beautiful garden, the lawn so well manicured. Faye, you are doing an awesome job. I'm sure your neighbours and family covet your garden.
It's always good to have a spouse that supports your passion. Ray is so blessed to have a diligent partner.
Pretty sure you have more plans.. as I can visualize a gazebo or a pond in the near future!

Carole, how many cats do you have?

Waving back Cookie!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

That is a lovely yard, dahtzu. Indeed, lots of room to expand or add.

Jaye, we have 3 cats, all rescues. Oldest is a tom rescued from a litter of feral cats. The middle one joined us after we moved here. She was living in the brush pile behind our back fence. She was several years old when she arrived. The youngest found our house from who knows where. He was a tiny little young thing at that time. But you could hear crying from several houses away. We're suckers for a pretty face. lol.

Love how your kitties are posing from their favorite spots!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

That Muffin Man is a stinker, just like my Mandy. She chews up everything she can get a hold of, including all the stuffing out of the toys. Yep, just discovered she had to get on the sofa to reach my headphones for my disc player. Did a good job on chewing the material off the ear pads. If she gets a hold of something and she sees me she runs with it. The neighbor's cat got into our van when DH had the sliding door open and got locked in for the night. Found a pile of poop on a small mat on passenger side so I took it out and we proceeded to drive out to the street when the cat comes bounding out from the back and dug his nails into my legs as he tried to get out. I just wish that cat would stay home. I love cats, but not when they sit and watch my humming birds.

crazy busy with fair. i will be MIA for a while.
I need a day with my Cookie girlfriend soon. having withdrawls :)
fair starts friday but we ware busy all week getting prepped.
got to get our goats to the fair grounds tomorrow.
well i m going to bed
have a wonderful week ladies
hugs

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi everyone!! It's been what, over a year? Sorry I flew the coop, I had a high profile divorce to go through and it took all of my brain, but I am back for the most part. To sum it up I left my house because he refused to go, said it was his house, so I rented a room for a few months then was able to get my own apartment. After going through hell I won the house back through the court and sold it almost immediately to be rid of him, other than the $400 he has to pay me for a year, and I didn't get to dig up anything. I relocated and am purchasing another little house in a subdivision with a good size yard that is already landscaped but it needs some gardens along the fence in the backyard. I'm supposed to close escrow on the 19th and will take pics.

Anyway, I hope everyone has been ok!!

Faye look at that list of daylilies!!! I'll pay you for some of those! You COULD open your own nursery!! WOW!!

Well I'll see y'all when I get off work tomorrow, or maybe Friday morning!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad your back with us Crissy! Congrats on the new life and new home!

Clarksville, TN(Zone 7a)

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Great to have you back Crissy. I'm sorry this past year has been such a hard one but it is onward and upward now. We really missed your posts and look forward to more of you on here. Good luck on the 19th!!!!!
