Sinus' woke me up this morning! Could not breathe, so I got up and took some meds, and a hot wash rag to my face and steamed it for a bit! Much better now!
84 degree's. with 65% humidity right now! Supposed to get light showers today, I sure hope so!
Sounds like your getting all your things packed up and ready for the trip! How is your Mom doing?
Best/Worse/What did you learn today?chat with friend old/new
Nothing worse than sinus head cold, drats
Is it the weather that brings it on?
Will call this mornimg and see how she is doing..but first have to get a roll of tape to put over my mouth so I can only say hmmm,ahhh,awww..
Kow she's unwell, not steady on her feet but she gets complaining about everyone and sometimes I can't keep my mouth shut..
Yes, am cleaning corners, not a lot to clean, I've been on a mission these past months, before I leave a room I look to see what belongs somewhere else and I go put it there..amazing how easily the house stays clean..just regular dusting and mop up the floors, not much more than an hour's worth of work.
Lit the firepit as I knew rain was coming, no sooner did I do that did it start to spit..not sure I will get the grass cut today but that is ok.
So staying in my Jammie's until it's time to head out to the wedding.
Yes, it is the weather changing, this darn humidity will sometimes affect my sinus, and it is not fun!
What color tape is on your mouth? ^_^
Let's hope the meds work LindaKay, aren't their units you can set your face in, with something over your head to keep steam in and breath in a few times a day?
Love her dearly but you can be ontop of the world and after a 10 minute call you look for anti anxiety drugs. Was on with her the other day and on msn with Sharon at same time, Sharon said no way she could call her, has enough anxiety in her life. Kim, my SIL goes to see her every day and calls at least once a day, she and Mike are thinking if moving to Wasaga Beach, Mike wants to retire this year, will be 55..mom is fretting already, who will she have to look after her?
Meant to ask Mary, if you are talking design for signage how long before the grand opening? Bet you are getting excited even though you are probably shaking ...
Morning all, supposed to rain here this A.M. Hope it does and gets it over with, we're having Amelia's 1st b'day party today. Friend of DGD rents inflatables, we got a giant Slip & Slide. kids will have a ball with that and I'm betting a few adults too. It'll be our weird bunch today. Son and his new family, former DIL and her new family. Somehow we all manage to make it work, we all love the same kids.
Happy Birthday to Amelia! Hope the weather holds out for the party!
Hope you have a sunshine day Karen..had about 20 drops, sun is coming out!
Sounds like a whole lot of fun for kids and adults alike..maybe even you will take a try at it.
have same situation with Jeff and his ex..we are still friends, I'm included in everything that is celebrated even though she is remarried and has a youngster..nothing given to my grandsons that her little one is not ncludes n..sure makes life easier for all concerned.
Oops forgot to say happy birthday to Amelia..big "1"

Betty, I finally found a graduation card. It is going out today, please let him know who the card is from when he gets it please?
It is easier Betty and makes life so much better for the kids concerned. Former DIL has another daughter from second and she is as much our DGD as any of the others. My parents even included her in their last gifts to their greats.
Just got a call, few girls dropping in to say 'hi', should be here any moment, there goes the grass...didn't want to do it anyway. Lol
Lindakay, you are a sweetie, will tell Kyle for sure.
Karen, not kids fault, all the same in my books..
Been looking all over the house for body parts..eagle parts are missing..am sure they were in ziplock bags, already cut for use..no can find..that puts a damper on finishing him this weekend..off to look in more corners
Linda, two things. First, try the Netipot. It is a plastic squeeze bottle that you add a saline mix and squirt it in your nostril and it comes out the other nostril. Between nostrils, it goes through the sinus. Do not use tap water unless it is boiled and cooled. It works wonders for our entire family and flushes all that stuff out and gets rid of your headache. My ear, nose and throat doctor told me about it. You can get an infection if you use tap water.
Second, I do not send a card. I have so many note cards in so many drawers after so many years of buying them I just send a note. Usually has a flower on the front. In the note I state I did not buy a card so that is what the extra $5.00 is for or whatever odd amount I have added. Then I add an odd amount to my gift amount. And I say buy yourself a hamburger or whatever. I always get a comment back and a chuckle from their parents. Usually, thanks so much and the hamburger was great. Kids do not keep and have the time they do not even read them.
We had rain last night and a little blustery wind. My neighbor has beautiful pine trees that shade our home but also cover it with dead pine needles when the wind blows. I just cleaned up some yesterday and have some more to do today. They are easy to clean up.
Where I do not have garden, I have crushed granite covering the blow sand (Nevada soil), I sweep it with a dust mop I have just for the garden. Works like a champ.
I am going to can some fig preserves today but it is going to be difficult to do so because it is cloudy and cool today and that is unusual in Las Vegas at the end of July. The garden is going to be calling m name.
Betty I have been doing the same thing. De-cluttering many rooms. And only displaying items a few at a time and rotating them. It makes dusting so much easier. I also have a recycle wastebasket by my side of the couch and that is where all the junk mail and excess paper goes that comes into the house on a daily basis. I also throw things in their that need to be shredded. It is a small container and I empty it every day so it is easy to sort through it and separate the shredding from the recycle.
Betty, hope you find what you are looking for soon. Sharon
I do use the neti pot, it took some getting used to, but it sure does help! Never had figs, but those preserves sure sound good! Do you grow your own?
now that Pat has gone I'll phone Sharon, she called, think she wants to vent!!!
Jeff just called he's leaving shortly for the festivities..guess I have to go lol
Sharon, my grandmother used to make fig pies at Christmas, its got to be 30 years since I've had one..never tasted them canned.
Your yard sounds lovely even in the Nevada terrain.
As for cleaning/purging, I have to say I do very well, gets to the point I don't enjoy anything that is not in its place..guess it gets to be a phobia..not intentionally believe me.
How are you feeling now LindaKay, breathing better?
Pat insisted that we make little bags to carry money/camera while sightseeing next week...so 4 bags were made lol NOT so sure the girls will wear them but here's hoping.
Best I get cleaned up, have to leave the house at least by 530pm
Hi Y'all just poppin in to let you know I am alive and well...sorta
tired as all get out. we just had inventory at work!!! so it has been crazy. Now we get to change out items for new season. ( fall / hunting ) my immediate supervisor is on vacation this week, so it will be hectic again....
I'm just popping in as well
Feeling much better, seen by the nurse and physiotherapy.
Faithfully doing my exercises
Arthritic pain has gone
Lots of visitors in and out
Hugs all around
M
Love the bags Betty!
Hey Thunder, hope your not working too hard?
Hey Marilynne, so glad to see you posting that your doing better. Sounds like your on the mend, and will be dancing soon!
Yes Betty re: Shaking in shoes! We are still at least 3 months out...I'm thinking...
Happy bday Amelia !
Betty - I ALWAYS carry a little pouch just like that on vacation. My first one... Mom bought for me for our trip to Germany back est. 2000? It really was worn out so bought a couple more but like the first one better. NONE Of the purchased ones are NEAR as cute as yours !!!
I bought some for the girls (me, DSD, DSD and DS GF) last DIsney trip.... they had a stiff fabric and weren't very comfortable but usable.
The neat thing about those is they fit my phone, money, cards a lipstick and some small items and could tuck in your shirt for the rides....
Bet you are getting SO excited ! What is your route as of now?
Hugs
Mary
Betty, canned figs are just like jam. If you really chop it in the Cuisinart, it is like fig applesauce.
I put off the canning until tomorrow. We had a wonderful day. Cloudy and a light rain most of the day. And a wonderful breeze. If your eyes were closed you would not think you were in Las Vegas. Unusual weather but I will take it.
Yes, Betty, I have some beautiful plants. Zone pushing is one of my favorite hobbies. We have a 3 car garage and the 3rd car section is for my zone pushing plants during the winter.
I left the patio this morning, Made Vern and the puppies breakfast and then headed to our bedroom area to shower, curl my hair and straighten the bedroom. 2 1/2 hours later, the puppies and I appeared. We had wandered around the landscape, with my hair in rollers, and took some photos, did some dead heading, and just enjoyed the weather. Then I had to come back inside and dry my hair with the blow drier because it was still damp after 2 hours. Then I watched last weeks Masterpiece Mystery theater. I love English theater. I just totally goofed off and I never do that. But I had a blast.
You all have a great morning. By the time I am up, you are nearly half done with your day.
Photo is my cat enjoying the cool breeze on the bedroom part of the patio. She is sitting on the cushions I had moved off the glider so I could dust it. That is my retirement rocker. I have been retired since 2005 (I think). I need to look that year up again. I retired on July 15th, just do not remember what year. LOL. I did mortgages in Las Vegas for 35 years. First female loan officer in Las Vegas and first female loan officer at Transamerica Corp. Another story.
Hugs, Sharon
Betty, I love your bags.
RIP Kidd Kraddick in the Morning....
He passed away... Brain aneurysim during a Golf Tournament in New Orleans to benefit his "Kidds Kids" Charity. He brought Thousands of sick Kids to Disneyworld.
I sold his show for many years during my 11 years at Clear Channel Radio.....
He was 53.? 51? Different reports....
Hugs
Mary
Mary, if he had a brain aneurysm, he did not know what hit him. I guess God needed a new helper in heaven.
Yes Sharon ! (HUGS)
I'm sorry about the loss of your friend Mary...
Busy day here today. Pack in the morning, cookout in the afternoon with dear friends we are leaving and visit with our daughter tonight. Tomorrow we sign our lease and get the keys to our new apartment. Then the fun begins in earnest. Never really thought Norm would be in a hurry to move but he can't wait now that the decision is out of our hands....
The landlord and her real estate agent were here yesterday and they have their plans all mapped out for getting this place ready to sell. Including putting on a new roof! And that may start while we are still here. Just what I needed - strange people around while the place is topsy-turvy!!! We have set Aug 17 as the date for the major move. So maybe they will wait until after then...
Sad to read of Kidd Kraddick's death. He certainly was a generous soul.
Barb, I sure do hope the roofers arrive after the fact. I'm like you if I'm busy doing ME stuff having strangers around is a no no!
The furnace has been on since 6am, a bit chilly here... 48f in July!!!
Tomorrow it'll be 80f
Doing my exercises, and walking with the walker..Slow and easy... Sure does smart sometimes.
My operative leg (right ) rolled off the bed last night, startled the heck outta me
Dogs were crowding me off the bed. DH says, no more!! We'll see. LOL
Get to have a shower today before the nurse comes, can hardly wait..
Best go for a walk about
Toodles
M
Ps.. Any news about the twins?
Lurking....
Morning all,
Mary, you'll be moved in and set up before Christmas..I look forward to hearing more about this adventure when we meet up.. As for my schedule,
3 of us could be ready to leave at noon but have to wait for Linda at 2;00..we are hoping she can work something out to leave at least by 1:00 but as she works for the courts and only she is responsible for cashing in/out-services etc it's highly unlikely but knowing her she will give it her best.
Only reason we would like to leave earlier is it's a long weekend (is it for you) and it will be hell at the border and a long wait..it shall be what it shall be, have to be patient right..just has a thought, maybe if the 3 of us go sit in the courts in her division they will shoo her off!
She said that she had a pedicure yesterday, girl was gentle with her broken toe, it wasn't until late evening she couldn't move, too much in one day..has 5 more days to heal..Suzanne didn't do any dancing last night, her leg/hip still isn't the best, she's made an appointment for chiropractor tomorrow in hopes it helps..
We leave as I said before I started to gab at 2:00 pm..we'll be if no long wait at the border near Chicago (will wave to our Judy) had we had another day we'd have spent the day in Chicago, ahhh well, maybe come fall I'll take a weekend ride.
hoping to be in St. Louis Saturday morning, doing the arch, boat ride/lunch and some sightseeing.. will leave there late Saturday and spend night between St. Louis and Branson.
up and at it early..caves in Springfield and arrive in Branson mid afternoon Sun..2 days in Branson, have some shows booked, the duck tour, Titanic Tour,Dam tour
Long ride when we leave Branson, not sure think it's 10-12 hours depending on sightseeing possibilities so a late arrival in NewOrleans, know the girls will want to go out regardless of the time. In NOLA we are doing the historic river cruise re 1812 battle, air boat ride in the swamp, ghost tour late evening, cemetery tour, taking ferry to Algiers, of course the French Market and Café du Monde and my special treat, meeting up with you..then Friday morning before dawn it's off to Nashville, won't arrive until late afternoon, will do Music Row, Grand Ole Opry, will in the morning have breakfast at the Gaylord hotel then off for a long ride home..if all goes according to hoyle we'll have a quick visit with Joyce...there goes 10 days of fun..
Mary sorry to hear of Kid Kraddick, a loss to the community for sure..
Thunder, sounds like a tremendous amount of work trying to change for the seasons, not much time for you to play.. how are the little ones?
Barb, I'm thrilled that Norm is ok with the move..fun day for you today, just don't overdo! imagine next weekend the family will be doing most of the lugging? A fun time for you, downsizing and not being overwhelmed with daily house/outside chores.
"M" so glad the pain issues you were dealing with prior to your operation has all but left ..you must be smilling. hmmm will have to go listen to my messages, sometimes I forget to and its days before I realize I've had calls. Will let you know if you had the correct number as I called from 2 different locations..will d-mail..ohhh have toll free number to give you so we can chat when you've time.
Katie, how's it going
Sharon, know you extended an invitation a few years ago...one of these years I will get there to see your lovely gardens. That 'kittie' sure looks as though she's hard done by, not one cushion but 2..wouldn't you love to have the life our furries have.
Bet you've loads of stories to be told you your experiences as a Realtor in Las Vegas..like to hear some of them and of course the stories untold being a loan officer..
Sometimes it does one good just to play, love Masterpiece Theatre, don't think we get it here, will have to check.
Can't believe I slept in, not something I do often, maybe I'm stocking up on sleep so I won't have to when I'm on the road..lol
Cool breeze, rained last night so still too wet to cut..have to go and put on fall clothing, I'd freeze if I were to go work in the gardens with in the light outfit I have on.
although I didn't feel like going yesterday I had a wonderful time, got home about midnight, stayed much longer than I thought I would
We counted, had 46 of my nieces/nephews at the function..all a lot of fun..
of course it was the younger generation sitting, older generation dancing and having a good time.. then there was me, a want to be young and not old so enjoying dancing with them all..thought I would hurt today but NOT..
Don't be lurking Lanakila,
1. Roger's brother Rick and his 5 girls, he's the one who is extremely ill
not so sure he's going to make it ..on the right is Roger's brother Marc
2. Roger's youngest brother Louis, turns 50 in September..was 2 when
Roger and I married
3. my goddaughter Stephanie, Linda's daughter
4. Suzanne's daughter Danielle and family
5. Suzanne, Louis and Paul (all Roger's sibblings) Paul also my boss..
Ahhh Karen, Amelia is too adorable..how did the water slide go, bet it was a hit.
1. More nieces, all belonging to Ric..Ric's the one who has bonded with
me the most
2. Paul's other daughter LeeAnn who works with me but in Penetang office
3. Gail, Roger's youngest sibling and the one who glares at me with hatred
is the 3rd to the left..but then she doesn't even talk to Suzanne so I don't
take it personally!
4. Ryan (groom)
5. Got a picture of Robert, born 11 months after Roger..didn't take a very
flattering photo of him so will post photo taken last Saturday at the bbq
Aw, Karen she is so precious!
Betty, you have a large family! Looks like they all had a good night!
1
Paul bought my dad's house on the lake after dad died..lots of memories there
2.

(I took many of you there on your visits)
3.
Lenny (Suzanne's hubby of 30 years) also great bbq chef
4.
Marg, Roger's sister elder lady in the middle (oops were only 1 1/2 years apart in age, you'd never know it, I act 'young' even 'childish'
5.
Auntie Betty's little girl 'Arianna' Suzanne'sgrandaughter
only 2 brother Mike and Rene who were not in attendance last night, both out of town,1 sister not in attendance as Marg's son took her to dinner/supper for her 67th
well, must have bored you with my photo's and it's noon hour, best I get a move on or the day will be completely lost
This is on Roger's side, there were 11 of them, still 10 living
I only have 3 sibling, but yes quite a crew when you consider all the children they've had..
really did enjoy myself 2 weekends in a row..
Glad you said 'soap' Karen, was just about to say 'oh no, they have snow already' lol
great day and mega memories..
love sharing in your photo's
Betty, you never bore us with pictures, family or crafts!
Karen, that looks like a lot of fun!
Thanks LindaKay, guess over the years you've seen them grow, seem changes in their lives etc. I'm a picture taking gal, seems I took over when SIL Barb passed on.
wow, thank the Lord for ridding lawnmowers..did hand pushing in the ditches and small corners and voila, grass cut..if I'm lucky and it doesn't grow a lot this week I might get out of cutting it before I leave.
64 today, no humidity and all of a sudden it looks like rain, if I hurry with lunch I just might get some deadheading done!
Love big family gatherings Betty.
Love all the pics :-), and, happy birthday to beautiful Amelia, looks as though she had a slip sliding great day !!
My granddaughter, Brooklyn, turns 15 tomorrow !! Hard to believe.
Betty, your family grows and grows, guess all of them tend to do that .. nice to keep in touch and in the loop with everyone.
Lordie, your travel plans are certainly well thought out!!
I hope you have just the BEST time .. Lorna and I are planning to travel east in the fall ?October, to see the folks, but, if they come here in September, well, it'd be kind of overkill .. mind you, I'd sure like to test out this new hip .. just that we need to research and book ahead for handicap rooms on our way down .. Lorna still travels with a fair amount of equipment.
MIGHT be 60F here .. going down to 46F .. DH is thinking cucumbers may not do so well ..or the corn, but, the cabbages are VERY healthy .. what a crazy crazy mixed up summer .. Ma Nature is playing a fickle kinda game here in Canada this summer .. last year and the year before it was SO humid sitting outside was a NON issue, this year .. wet and cool ..
I had a SHOWER today, washed my hair, feel like almost a million bux !!
Have done my exercises twice, one set left .. nurse has changed my dressing, I asked today, I have 18 staples holding the incision together, which she will take out Aug. 6 (YIKES) LoL ... I'm a chicken LOL
Hope everyone is happy and feeling loved,
Thanks again for thoughts and prayers offered .. they worked real well ^_^
HUGS
