Hmm .. Debbie, I don't know the story re Shannon, but I wish her (and you) well as you proceed along to a Dx
One way to mess up a smoothly flowing path is to stick a MIDDLEMAN in it !!
All my best
Re the 'hair removal joke', OMG!! Back in the day, while in nurses training, living in residence I might have had a story like that to relay .. but, clearer minds prevailed (thank heavens) LoL
Good luck to your niece Betty, she's come a long way to get to where she's at .. hahahah .. just sounded like a Newfie :-)
Love the Eagle .. very pretty, but, I know you want it D O N E !!!
I got up from the puter at 11am this morning, every intention of going out .. laid down, woke up at 2pm !! DH and Lorna had gone and gotten wood (Birch) and stock piled THREE LOADS of it .. I think over a cord (useless in that dept)
Got up, made a sammie (almost used Smokey's cat food) and I am still sitting here .. mind, I did do my banking .. way behind, and read some UBER long emails I had been avoiding from relatives in Ireland who tend to INSIST I come to visit again .. gonna be a while for that to happen.
Plan is to get a bit o help out the backdoor, and to get some fresh air, just NO spunk today.
Gads, now I hear a chainsaw!! Best go out and see what's up ..
Take care, be safe ..
TOODLES

Best/Worse/What did you learn today?chat with friend old/new
Am proud of her yes, although she's quite the Diva lol
more of a song writer than a singer, we'll see..been a few years since I've been to the CNE, should be fun..CNE is like your state fair.
Crissy those girls want to be in NewOrleans as early in the day/early evening as they can be so I'll be taking the most direct route, sightseeing will have to wait till I go again and add it to the agenda.
Debbie, sounds like Doctor 'V' has a plan, best forgo the middleman for sure. How have you been feeling with all this additional stress?
Kathy when we head north from NewOrleans it will be to Nashville, going to Music Row and Grand Ole Opry, breakfast at the Gaylord Hotel then homeard bound.
made 3 curling iron bags, gave Suzanne hers, bit larger than the rest but then her curling iron also has a brush..takes so little to make these girls happy lol
Great way to use up scraps, only thing I had to buy was velcro
Been a long day, guess I'm anxious for the week to end
Tonight I'll get as much done as I can, really not a lot to do..wanted to cut grass so all is very neat while I'm away but it rained for a bit this afternoon so likely to wet and will have to wait until tomorrow night.
Always a few last minute things to do before one leaves..
"M" I think you are already doing to much, your body is saying 'I need rest'
See that Lorna and Gord are getting things ready, your winter comes a heck of a lot sooner than we get so you have to be thinking wood this early.
I am tired, over tired and mentally shot. Waiting for that other ball to drop as they say.
Next set of tests will tell if this is a tumor somewhere in her body causing all the cortisol levels to shoot up or something else. She is not on any meds to cause it, which would be the first suspect.
Hugs coming you way Debbie..can certainly understand you are apprehensive as to what is just around the corner..never ending for you!
Jean, how are you doing?
Betty that's perfectly fine, you know how I get when I get an idea in my head! LOL!!
Debbie big big big hugs! I know this is frustrating, stressful, and tiring.
If I don't get back on here before you leave Betty, have a safe and wonderful trip. But please don't dance on the tables any more!!!!!!
HELLO! EVERYONE-
I know it's been a very long time since I have checked in, but have been keeping very busy and so I sort of get side tracked easily. I think of you all now and then, but then I usually am too tired to open up my computer. I hope this note finds you all doing well and life is good.
I went back to Nebraska in June for a visit. It was good to see everyone and try to catch up, but just not enough time to do it all. I went back to the old place and dug up some flowers to bring back and plant here. They had changed alot of things there so that just told me not to go back again and just take the memories with me. I shall.
Well, there isn't alot new with me, I have a nice garden and the flowers are doing good. I have some quilts to get together before the next meeting. The weather is cool, but we have had some mice rains which helps. I did can some dilly beans yesterday and got some broccoli and zuchini ready for the freezer. Will probably buy some sweet corn to freeze as we didn't plant any corn.
Well, just wanted to say hello to you all and may God bless and keep you all in his arms. Please take care of yourselves and have a lovely summer.
Shirley
WONDERFUL!!!!! Shirley you are missed and you just made my day!!! Glad to hear that you are well and life is a bit easier for you.

Morning all,
Oh my goodness Shirley, what a wonderful surprise seeing your post.
Am sure your gardens are beautiful and as you say, sometimes it doesn't do the heart good to go back to our previous homes, Lordy I stay away from the lake in port Severn and Coldwater re the farm because memories hurt..have you joined a quilting guild? Would love to see some of your handy work, please share.
Look forward to more posts as the season progresses and you've more time to come sit and chat awhile..Tubby is never far from our gardens and hearts.
Barb, thanks for the good wishes, I'll stay off the bar tables and I'm sure the girls will remind me I'm not a university kid..maybe that way I'll not get injured..haven't got over the last fall..aren't I a sucker for punishment. Lol. Now if you want me to behave, you will do the same right and won't overdo with the packing.
Mary, drats, thought we'd get to meet Lance...not to be but sure am hoping we can get together.fingers/toes crossed..great seeing you out of the Witchypoo Funk.
Mother Nature decided to help me with my to do list, rained during the night and continues to do so...am ok with that as the gardens really needed rain and grass hopefully will be a bright green when I get home from my trip.
Did not sleep well last night, Greg called about Noah last night about 10:30 asking if he was here, a big to do, was to have called me right back with news, didn't.
Finally at 1am I sent him an email, got a quick response..couldn't sleep without waking every 10 minutes or so all through the night.
Got everything done and in order here, even the bedding incase the lady picks my room to sleep in..tonight I'll simply dust, wash the floor and voila ready!
Ohhh look at the time, must get a I've on
Sending prayers for Noah that all is okay. It is a hard age to live through for some..... Norm's colonoscopy came out clean!!! No sign of cancer so we are thrilled.
Once again - have a safe trip......
That's fantastic news Barb..may all further tests be the same. Now you get to start a new chapter in your lives, how exciting is that.
Got to call Greg to give him the whatfore...am just sick to my stomach, no sleep most of the night. he called late evening, knew all was well and let me think the worse..if he could call once it would have taken but a few seconds to call me back regardless of the time for an update..
I am not a happy camper..shaking my head NO and yes, Noah is in need of megal prayers..
Once again .. thoughts and prayers going out to those in need of'em :-)
Betty .. ONE MORE SLEEP!! YAY!!
As for Greg, SHYZA, smack on the butt with 10 wet noodles .. my son Murray pulled the same stunt with daughter Brooklyn and a bus trip she was taking with her class .. phoned to say there had been and 'incident' on the bus with one of the kids and that he was driving west on the Trans Canada to go to the bus, he'd call .. WELL .. I conjured up ALL sorts of 'incidents' .. I don't watch NCIS and Criminal Minds and Flashpoint for nothing LoL
No call. no call, finally the NEXT morning I get a call from Brooklyn telling me that one of the kids had had an asthma attack, and, NO inhaler with her.
Chalk up 15 more silver hairs for Grandmama LoL
Hi Shirley, I'm Marilynne, another Cannuck living north and west of our dear Betty ..
Waiting on the nurse to come change my dressing, want to have a shower before she gets here .. as well .. DH brother is due for coffee.
Enjoy your day everyone
Toodles

Morning everyone! Shirley how nice to see you posting! Sounds like your keeping yourself busy, quilting and cooking! I agree with Betty, it is so hard to go back to another time. My Mom used to tell us kids, that once you leave this is no longer home! Home is where ever you make it! She is so right!
Barb, so glad to hear that Norms test came out good!
Debbie, love those towels and pressies Betty got!
Betty, are you stopping by Debbies place to pick up all your goodies?
So what happened to Noah? Was he missing? Glad to hear he is OK, but I agree, Greg should have called!

Betty, look at these cute plastic cuttings boards being painted!
thanks for posting the t-towels Debbie, love each and every item..can't you just picture them in the French Cafe?
LindaKay, wonderful idea but I still think for the amount of work put into them I'd do them on wood..can get wood cutting boards at Dollar store or walmart..
will soon have to make another one for my kitchen, somebody and NOT ME has been using it as a cutting board, imagine lol
drats, drats and more drats
Ink cartridge came for printer, took top off, went to insert but the minute I turned it around it covered me in ink including my outfit..on my way to staples and see if they will exchange..
got to go get USA $$$ so will do at same time.
Went to Staples, was too funny, the lady was so nice, I joked about the girls getting their nails done to go to NewOrleans, she said might be an omen that I shouldn't be going..this man behind the counter who works there says
'think you've had a few omens not to go, one broken toe, one with knee problems' and he starts to laugh..caught me by surprise..said now how would you know that?
he starts to laugh and tells me he's Rita's SIL
too funny..
'
Sorry aout the ink Betty, sure hope it comes out of your clothes! If not take the bill for a new outfit to staples!
Too funny about meeting Rita's SIL! Small world!
I agree, they would look nice on wood too! Sorry someone used yours!
Got the grass cut, treats/food for kitties
making a list for the lady who will stay here, sure hope she shows up tomorrow...am sure Bernice has looked after it.
bedding in dryer so there will be clean sheets regardless where she sleeps, I'll just cover myself with a blanket and lay on the quilt as not to dirty as will Rita if she spends the night
going to vacuum, quickly wash all the floors then dust
check my list to make sure all is in order and voila ready for bed and away we go tomorrow.
checked a bit more about where we can schedule some quick stops..really want to do Springfield Illinois to visit and walk in same rooms as Lincoln and go to the Cemetery where he is buried..think that will be a must. I even watched a movie on his assassination to get myself into that era.
that will be 2 Springfield's as I'm doing the caves just outside Springfield Mo
getting anxious to get going now..more too see of your lovely country
Waxing the Hooha????? NEVER!!!!!!! That was so funny! Tried waxing my legs once. Got one strip done and almost passed out! LOL
Beautiful twins, Betty! Can't wait to have my new ones next year! Colt and his wife are due in January. My daughter is due in April!!!!! I'm going to be one busy Nannie! But am I a little prejudiced that Liam is my heart? :)
Betty, thanks for saying I'm gorgeous! I've gained about 20 pounds in the last year, but my health is better.
The cable guy just got here to check some wires, so I better get this posted. Be back later.
Love y'all
BTW, Betty, New Orleans is 2 hours from my house! :)
Oh Betty, sitting here laughing right out loud about that Route #66 picture....and
the fields there. A treasure in my life I will NEVER forget!
Please drive safe....have a wonderful time and give Mary a BIG hug for me.
Not who else you are visiting....but pass that on to them also.
I think you'll find that grandbaby love just stretches and grows to fit them all in. I thought I'd never love again as much as the first on, but I have 15 of them and I can honestly say, I don't love one more than another. They are each and every one as precious as can be. It stretches still further with another generation as I have so far 9 greats. This is a great time of my life.
Enjoy your trip Betty!
How right you are Karen, you just got to love those grandchildren, bet it's the same with great grandchildren..I won't rush things though
Debbie, when I was doing research for Illinois I came across that photo, broke out laughing..brought back great memories ..for newcomers, Debbie and I did a roadtrip ohhh must be 4 or 5 years ago..we wanted to visit with Bev,thought it would be ice to buy chocolate bars for Scotty, coming out of the store we saw a sign that said route 66' of course Debbie thought I should take it..ended up in a cornfield, at least 8-10 feet high the stalks were and I would be lying, tallest corn stalk I've ever seen..as we drove the road became a pathway, a pathway a cow path, only inches between car and corn stalk...we eventually were lost in a maze, no way out, couldn't turn around..we'd back up, take another maze, nope, then another and another all the while, laughing our heads off, finally daylight..ahhh Debbie said it was a runway for planes ..ooops
We were forever in the cornfields..
Had the best visit ever with Bev and Scotty, left early evening, drove and drove, what was it Debbie, an hour or so only to end up in same place!
Omg how we ended up seeing all we did is beyond me..
One day Debbie and we will do another roadtrip.
Glad it made you laugh.
Julie, likely not make it this time but one day I'll make a trip especially to meet up with more of my dg friends
Barb yay!!! I am soooooo glad to hear that about Norm!!!!!!!! I am grinning ear to ear!
Betty I can't wait to see you, I was bragging about my Canadian friends at work today and how I get to see a few of them in a few days!
I have a question ladies, someone told me that you need a Visa to get into Canada for no matter how long you stay. I don't think so but I thought I'd check with y'all, not that I can go up there anytime real soon but I like to keep up on things.
Betty I'd ring Greg's neck for that! If Noah sneaks out of the house and they don't know where he is he needs to give you an update for when they do know where he is! I'd chew him out royally for not letting you know everything as it happens. My goodness!
Debbie those towels are so cute!!!!
Judy if you are out there I am so glad you are enjoying your job!!!!
Crissy, I believe now the law is that you can have a special drivers license that allows you to go to Canada by car but if you fly, you need a passport. Seems such a shame as I grew up in the Detroit area ( where we were just north of Canada) and we used to go often for a Sunday drive or dinner at a favorite place or two. We were used to just a quick stop at the border and on our way no fuss, no bother. How sad it has come to this for national security.
Betty I totally remember that!!!! Dang time flies!!!
Crissy, I don't think you Ned a visa to visit Canada, but you do need a passport.
LOL I know you have to have a passport, I have that, but he's saying a Visa, like a green card. I don't think you need that to take a vacation in Canada.
Check this site out, you do not need a visa...
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp?country=United%20States%20citizens%20and%20permanent%20residents
Crissy, you need a passport/visa or enhanced license to come into Canada, even to drive across the border. Even us who live right on the border are required.
Betty, I didn't think it was that long ago....but it was!!! Four years, year after Mom passed (2008) and my DD got married. Had to be back for Shannon's graduation party...which was Aug. 2009.
Just some of the memories of that trip!
Judy/Liz/Betty/Me Crissy/Betty/Me Bev/Betty and Rt. 66 & corn field
Crissy, no, not a visa....I think that is for extended stay, working and school purposes staying long term in a foreign country.
Thank you everyone for that!! I'm going to bed, have a wonderful night, sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite!!
Yep! Gotta love those grandkids! Nothing in the world like them!
I'm visiting the East Coast again in September. Flying into DC, my cousin is picking me up there. We'll visit the memorials then off to NIAGARA FALLS! We wanted to go into Canada, but we do need passports. After Niagara Falls, we are heading to the Maine coastline and working our way down the coast to visit lighthouses! then another trip to NYC and back to DC where I'll fly home! probably be my last trip North for a while. I'm heading West on my next vacation... probably 2 years from now. Want to see the Grand Canyon, Pacific Coast, and possibly Hawaii!
I would love to take a cross-country trip through the mid-west, but time will tell.
Hoping you all have a good day! Will catch up later today! Love y'all ♥
Bon Voyage Betty and friends.
Travel safe,and, have fun!!
M
