What I learned today. Expect the UNEXPECTED in Canada as far as weather goes.
Was expecting a wedding party to come by so they could take some pics on the property (LOTSA Evergreen trees etc). The day the bride called it was in the mid 90s with horrid humidity. Today, too COOL for pics outside .. it's about 64F with a cool nothern breeze. Can't blame them for wanting to stay inside for photos. I actually prefer this kind of weather for a wedding, can do a lot more dancing without breaking a sweat LoL. Not that I'd be dancing this time around, but, I will soon !!
Thoughts of the babies and the families scoot through my head frequently.
Just thought I'd pop in ..
Toodles

64 sounds nice!
Betty, please know we're saying extra prayers for those little ones!
Sure hope you told that guy he is not welcome like that!
Just got caught up here and my prayers are so fresh and new and full of thanks to God and asking for His grace for these babies. It will be His will and I pray for strength for all of Ann's family.
Many many prayers going out here too!!
I hope your surgery goes as planned Marilynne, can't wait to see you on your feet!!
Betty Oh Betty I bet that gave you a scare! Glad he knew you, and you knew him and didn't know it!
I looked at the larger house today after work and ICK!!! I accepted the counter offer on the small house, found out they asked for a month escrow because they can't close on the 1st of August, I know they're elderly from the pics but I didn't know he had a stroke recently and is having tests done on Monday to determine if his heart was damaged. Prayers for him are being sent as well. I have never met them in my entire life but I have a feeling they are super sweet.
Barb so glad you found a place to move to as well! When are you moving again?
Katie hope you are feeling better since your sleep! Miss you girl!
Hi everyone!!!
Morning all,
Light breeze, lower temps, great day to finally get some work done outside..
Promised to go help Darlene today IF she's feeling up to it, said she would call so not quite sure what my day will be, a wait and see.
BBQ was great, never ate a steak so tender..Lenny is quite a cook. Will download my photos later to see how much fun we had..lol
Jody is Alex gone for just the weekend or for holidays? Bet you fret all the time he's gone.
"M" seeing as surgery is tomorrow do you get admitted today or early tomorrow morning? You were so lookng forward to seeing the wedding party, disappointing it was too cold..actually last night all were looking for jackets, certainly a chill in the air.
Barb, hoping I hear from Ann today..guess you are starting boxing everything up again..shouldn't be much purging as likely you did it recently when contemplating the other move.
Crissy, August 1st is only weeks away, not a wonder they would find it difficult to do so..prayers for the couple, must be overwhelming for them
When will the closing date be? Am sure you can hang on till then.
Katie, how are things going?
Susan, how's Calgary doing with the clean-up?
Off to get myself a coffee and get energetic
Morning everyone! Light rain falling here. 76 with 82% humidity.
Crissy, good luck on the new home!
Sending my morning prayers to Canada....
Things will go slow and easy here regarding the move. We will have the month of August to switch from here to the new place. I will post an address for mail after the 1st of August. We purposely wanted the whole month to do one room at a time. Purging to keep or sell, donate or toss. Purging comes first with things for those who want them and then we start the rest. Norm is working full time with OT as well so I need to keep his work to a minimum during the week. But OH the weekends!!!! Hopefully this will make the move easy for us. Trying to go from a single family house with basement and garage to a 4 room apartment will not be easy.......
So think its the right chice you've made even though you love where yu are..anything to make it easier for you both. Great way of dong it Barb, one room at a time.do you live in an area with enough housing that you can put 'free to good home' at the curb?? Know things go quickly here, sometimes within the hour.
On the good side, will be easy to clean!
Lndakay, bet you are enjoying the milder temps, it's in the low 70's, don't feel the humidity and a nice breeze, really nice for working outside.
Are the grandkids still with you LindaKay?
Well, got all the grass cut, even raked the dead leaves and picked up branches..about another hour with trimmer and I'm back in business...here is hoping that with the ran we had Friday and with more mid week the lawns will turn a pretty green.
Darlene is still at the old house with movers so likely I will drop into see her on my way home tomorrow vs today which is great as I can get my housework and finish yard, all lawn furniture needs wiping..work day with few breaks that I can sew.
Enjoy your day!
Good morning everyone ..
Thoughts and prayers from me to all in need of them, most especially the twins.
Crissy, that elderly couple certainly does have a bumpy row to hoe ahead of them, how sad.
Betty, good to hear you had a nice time at the 'do' :-)
Apparently the one I missed was as nice, lots of family on DHs side (big family) and many good wishes sent back to me, as well as roses from his cousins rose bush, a beautiful pale pink. Wish I could smell'em.
Tomorrow I am to be at the hospital for 7am .. admitted .. then off to Surgical Day Care where I am given an IV as well as IV antibiotics prior to surgery .. around 9am I will be wheeled into the "PLACE" .. and, hopefully I will be OUT OF IT!! I am certainly NOT looking forward to ANY of this , but, the pain is becoming more unbearable by the day. Am hoping I am going to have a bladder catheter in place for a bit, as my OVER active bladder is NO fun at all when you can't beetle to the BRoom.
Supposedly I'll be in recovery by 11am, and, into a room by 1pm .. seems cut and dried, but, I am sure it won't run as smoothly as I have made it sound.
My brother just dropped by for coffee and toast, he can tell I'm some worried ..so, we had a visit, and, I feel a bit better now .. A BIT!!!
Anyway .. I hope everyone is having a stellar day, enjoy, be safe.
~M~
M, it will be over before you know it and they will most likely put in a catheter as a routine part of the procedure. Please take some deep breaths and relax as much as you can. The decrease in pain will make it all worthwhile.
I'm having a lazy Sunday, washing dishes and doing general cleanup, most of which is long overdue.
I woke up at 5am and couldn't get back to sleep. This did give me some cool weather time.
Saying prayers for the little twins and others.
Back to the (seemingly) endless cleanup.
hugs, katie
Marilynne yes they do have a bumpy ride. Very sad, must be why they're selling.
Betty I hope you hear something from Darlene today, I'll be glad when she gets all of this behind her.
More prayers are going out to Ann and the twins, looking forward to a better update soon!
I'm going to grab a shower, and I think that it's raining!!!! Woo Woo!!!!!
Afternoon everyone. Yes Betty, I still have the kids. Andy and Heather will be here tomorrow afternoon to pick them up. I have really enjoyed having them here, but will be nice and quiet when they leave.
Marilynne, sending lots of prayers your way! You should be up and walking in just a few days from now.
It was raining about 5 this morning, and it is raining again now. Kids are upset, I won't let them play in the rain. Not when there is thunder and lightening.
I just laid Dylan down for a nap. He is still fighting his sleepy time, as he does not go to bed with a bottle, and if he wants a drink while he is up, I give him a regular cup, as he does not like the sippy cups. I just hope Heather will keep the bottle from him when she gets him back home.
Wow kids grow so fast! No, they don't need to be playing in an electrical storm, that is not good.
Worked my but off, so much so, will go for afternoon nap, something I never do but like Dylan I'm fighting my sleepy time. Kids, always find running threw puddles an exciting thing to do, too bad it's storming! Wont Heather b pleased you've weined him off the bottle? You won't know what to do with yourself when they leave. Been missing your sewing?
Crissy still raining there? Lol,
What did you and Joel end up doing today?
"m" glad your brother was able to give you a sense of calmness, think both my brothers would end up increasing my stress levels. We will have to make note of just how close you are to your scheduling prediction.
Cody, am sure it's a worry not knowing if he is being cared for as you care for him but likely he is enjoying his time with dad.
Katie, can't picture you just sitting, on a lawnchair, feet up, you always seem to enjoy cleaning and making your home YOU!
UGGgggggggggggg .. just had my PRE OP bath/shower .. I have to use a bath bench right now, anyway .. I had to us this anti bacterial sponge typa deal, ordered by the doc .. shalzbat !!!!!!!!!!!!! I am all dried up, look like a flippin PRUNE !! AND, no can use any type of creme or lotion. ITCHY !!!
I also have ONE other prediction re tomorrow .. are ya ready ^_^
Kate and William will have their baby, a girl, 7.5lbs, and called . either .. Alexandra Victoria, or, Victoria Alexandra LoL
I dreamt that last night .. weird huh ?
LindaKay .. enjoy the babies while they are still messin about around your feet, too soon they are MALL BOUND to 'hang out' with friends.
My 2 are 15 and 12 .. grew up when i wasn't looking !!
Should get outta this whchair .. Gordon and Lorna are out trimming and cutting grass .. and, here i sit, staring at the cat !!
TOODLES

Missed ya all! Have had no hydro since around 5 Fri afternoon. It just came on not too long ago.I was watching th start of the 5 pm Toronto newa, they flashed a pic of devastation in Betty's area and BANG I was in my own world of devastation. Very thankful though as hydro crews thought they might not be able to get us up and running until about 9 pm. Rain has stopped, quite warm.Lots of limbs and a few trees down.
Crissy what is the word on the house? Answered my own question.Woo hooo, ver happy for you. So sorry to read about the old man. When we bought our first tome (for the price of a truck these days up here) the gentleman was very ill. Lots of goings back and forth between lawyers as there was a concern the vendor might die. Sending positive thoughts he will improve daily.
Katie you keep puttering around at your own speed = you will get everything done in time. Remember- no falls!
Marilyn, I bet this time tomorrow you will have a wide grin on your face and wishing this procedure could have happened months ago. Just remember but something tells me I need not worry about this - do those exercises everyday. That's really the key to get back up and running full throttle like you were used to doing.
Betty what's for dinner? I think I am going to be cooking up meat either for me or Diesel for the next few days.
My big news of the day .... ta da, the extra sleep I have been having obviously helped as I drove myself into Kingston today and went not to just 1 store but 3. Woo hoo!! While I still am sleeping a fair bit I haven't felt this good in a long, long time.
Time for a much needed shower. BBL
Dianne
Well we had our house showing. Very nice couple from Boston, They seemed to like the house and asked a lot of questions. Hubby even took them for boat ride around the lake. as we are leaving the pontoon with the house. They really didn't seem like the kind of folks who would like this kind of place, but you never know.
Dianne, wondered if the storm reached you, yes, we were really hit..finally got all the limbs cleaned up! Took a long time to get your power restored..we were lucky, few hours at most..Coldwater and port Severn region just got some of theirs on.
With all the power outages you have I would imagine you don't fill your freezer.
Nothing much for eats here, had some mac salad from yesterday's gathering , cereal and likely will make a peanut butter sandwich..save cooking for restaurant tomorrow.
Sounds as though all the sleepless nights are now behind you, great that you got to drive into Kingston and shop..even just browsing is nice sometimes. Does Diesel get to go with you?
Karen, wouldn't that be something if they made an offer, maybe they want it for family retreat, away from everything..let's hope tomorrow will be your day then Tennessee bound..you didn't unpack everything now did you...know you had all but gotten rid of everything that kids didn't want.
Had my bath, in my Jammie's, aching. Ache, not liking the not being able to do all I could do even a few years ago.
Saw Cliff/Bernice drive in from church so put my rake down and went to see .
what was done on their granny flat..it will be spectacular. Her SIL actually made the side facing the garden identical to the back of their house with garden wide window and kitchen setting will also be much the same so she will feel right at home. Cliff is suffering badly with sciatic and can do little, walking with a cane , everything new..now i could go for that..the granny house will be answer to all their prayers, they wont have to relocate,,will have a 1 bedroom house, walk in tub for Bernice, she even gets to keep her gardens!
Did mention them staying here the 10 days I will be gone, said they would talk about it. Know they like quiet and with Michelle and family's schedule the last thing the house would be is quiet.
Know they are going to Mantoulin Island again for a few weeks so I if they could deal with the next 2 weeks, then almost 2 weeks here, then the 2 in Manitoulin the granny flat likely would be ready to move into.
Hard making these life changes, but it's something we are all facing.
We went to Manitoulin one year early in May for perch fishing. We were in a motor home with my Mom and Dad. Froze our tushies off. we all wore heavy hunting suits over our clothes over long johns. Snowed most of the time we were there. Then found out the camp ground that advertised showers, didn't have hot water. Winds were so high that people were locking up their anchors at night to keep them from being "borrowed". We still had a good time, caught a ton of perch, enough to eat on all year.
Hi Betty, yes i do worry about him when he is over their.Thats so true!!! I do call and talk to him everyday that he is over their.I made sure of that, before my baby every started going over their. He started going over their at 3 month old,you know how a first time mom can be,knowing he was just a baby at the time.I would cry and cry and cry for days while he was gone. Now when he is over their it so very nice to hear his voice on the other end of the phone when i call him.
Karen, smilling here, showers with no hot water? Lol
Is a beautiful island..had we had more time when Joyce was here and already in Tobermory think we would have taken the ferry over then drove home via Sudbury..perhaps another time..have to go look at the map to see where you would have crossed over..we're you lining in Traverse City then?
Jody, much better now that you can speak with him, you could sense if something is wrong by one in his voice.
"M" early night for you, if you leave before I get to post knows thoughts are with you..sending prayers..here's hoping you can sleep tonight!
My parents were so we picked them up in Traverse City and on up 75. across bridge then cross at the Soo and turn right. to get on the Island we drove across a bridge that was for cars and trains, a bit nerve wracking that.
Just checked, not a bad trip Karen..checked mileage, about 10 hrs from here to frankenmuth going northern route, going 401 to Sarnia & across just under 5.. Likely be a scenic trip if one had the time.
Jody then at least when he hears your voice you can cheer him up..
Dats nauseated last few hours, hope I'm not catching something
Hi Betty, yeah he does tell me he misses me and that he loves me.I tell him the same thing back. The day he comes home,he has a big smile on his face and he trys to get out of the truck and his dad get in front of him so he can get his hug. After that alex jumps down and runs to me with open arms with a smile on his face and hugs me tight.
Cody
We have a week-end visit situation with some of the greats. We send them off with a smile and "have fun", and welcome them back with hugs. Sadly Dad is still attitudinal and has to make a small scene all the time, roars away fish tailing down the road. Too sad for the kids sake.
When my oldest son and his wife divorced after 12 years, it broke my heart. It took us about a year to realize the best thing for the kids was to all try and get along. It wasn't easy at first but we have settled in so we can all spend the important events together. At times we even have fun. Both have remarried and are happier now, The kids have two wonderful step parents. Children of the second marriages just blend into both families. They all consider themselves siblings.
It is not easy when someone divorces with little ones in the picture.
Morning everyone, coffee is ready!
Hard to keep up with you peeps! Been reading and finally made it through. Am sad about the news on the babies, but praying hard that God's will be done. Hope it's not too much on Ann. She's been through so much.
Betty, when do you girls leave for your big adventure? We're having a little rain here, but looks like I'll have a few hours to work on the garden. I'm going to take a picture of how bad it looks. Geesh...I also counted and I have 25 pots that need to be planted and that doesn't count the two good sized trees I bought. Sigh...hope my DGS will come work today. The two DGDs are here, but 14 and 11 aren't a lot of help!!!
Prayers going out to all of you rather you want them or not!!!! ^_^
Morning cookie! Sounds like you will be busy planting, sure hope you get some help!
Betty, where are you? Sure hope your not sick?
Morning all,
Was a hard decision this morning, was sick all night and so tempted to be home.
Imagine "M" operation is almost over, she was so anxious about it, glad its behind her. If I don't see her posting today I'll call tonight to check up on her and update.
Still no news from Ann, that concerns me..
Joyce we leave here Aug 2nd and are gone for 10 days..will keep you updated , trying to fit in a pit stop at your house, likely would be early Sunday...getting emails from them, counting the sleeps and all anxious to leave.
Suzanne did something g to her leg, she's hobbling around, nothing will stop us though.
Good Morning!! Thanks for the coffee Lk!
Betty I hope your feeling better, wonder what made you sick. Let me know if you come my way, hopefully I'll have the day or days off. Oh Suzanne!
Karen did they make an offer? People are weird, we never know what someone else will like or not like.
Well I'm going to redo a resume and send it out, maybe someone at sometime will hire me for an IT position, although retail is fun lol
One never knows where we'll be Crissy..Suzanne came in this morning and said if we changed plans a bit we could go to Tallahasse Fl. for a day or two on the beach..girls..sometimes I don't know what we're doing until almost that day..will keep you updated though.
Had something to eat, helped settle my stomach..just so much going on..
June just called, wanted to know if I've heard from Ann..nope.
Oh Jeez! Now that's quite a direction change! LOL Glad your feeling better. How is June doing? Do the ladies still paint at your house on Tuesdays?
would mean going that way from New Orleans so not MUCH of a detour lol
we are having another meeting next week just before we leave and we know about the weather.
June is doing fine..yes they still use my house but are doing a mixture of painting and sewing..
LOL Those ladies crack me up! I'm glad to hear they're still doing that. You all are going to have a blast no matter where you end up, but I don't want to hear of anyone getting any whiplash lol
I'm still dealing with whiplash..maybe if I party with University Students again they just might put neck back into the right position.
LOL, oh Betty, you would do that, wouldn't you!!!
Hoping you'll stop by. Anytime is fine. Just let me know so I can be sure to be here! I must admit, I do have a tendency to gad about a bit! ^_^
I forgot to take the before picture, and I so wanted you to see the change. We were all working, (Luke, Bryn, Emma and me) in the misting sprinkle, but now it's a downpour so I'm off to Taco Bell for some lunch. Radar looks like it will pass us by in a bit.
Bill is having some kidney pain. I sure hopt that 1 1/2 inch kidney stone doesn't decide to move about. Ouch!!!
