Betty, I'm in line with the others here......Please take good care of yourself.....if you're needed to see the doc please call today & get taken care of......You're dearly loved by this crew, I can see that !!!

Glenview, IL

Oh Goodness!
Betty, it sounds to me like you way over did it on all the work you did, ehem, by yourself.
I sure hope a good night sleep is all that is needed...

I Hope you all had a Wonderful Canada Day! I was celebrating with you as I remembered being with Betty last year, what fun it was!! Sorry I was not able to get on line yesterday to celebrate.

Very gentle Armwraps Debbie...holy crap, you sure have a lot of allergies. I sure hope something can be done.

Barbara, gentle hugs to you, glad you are feeling a bit better and i too hope the tingle toes are from the nerves, sure beats the alternative.

I want to Thank you all for celebrating my new job with me!!! heheh, I'm still just as happy as can be. It was a gruelling day.

lol this morning I can't believe it, but I actually slept until 6:30...lol went to bed the night before wondering what top I should wear, so I played it safe and wore just a nice printed pullover. Everything was right on schedule as I did things to get ready checking off my mental list, loading my pack with all the essential to get me through the breaks and lunch, my lunch and now time to get shoes on and wake Jake. Decided I better stop drinking coffee too, so not to be shakey...last thing to do is put the teeth in, right? Go for them and they are not there!!! OMG, where the heck are they...so i race around the house search pockets...sudden fear, anxiety the works....Search pockets again and the cup, scratch my head...good gosh, why didn't i just leave them in? Oh begging the please don't do this, sigh...finally found them, realized they fell out of my pocket as i was going around, eating my breakfast, whew....do another quick face wash, rinse them up and shove in and off we go, all with 5 minutes to spare.
Arrived to work 15 minutes early, end up waiting an additional 15 minutes. Finally my manager comes in and we get to filling out the paper work. this takes all of 15 minutes, it was a good thing i checked everything the title said production associate, I said I thought I was hired for the Supervisor position, he said oh I need to chance that, meantime i was filling out a form and I asked what i was to put in for the title, he replied, Production Expert, apparently that's what they call the Supervisors are the same as experts! He says ok, so well see you on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for training, uh ok? Were done? Yes for today, So I asked if I could see the work area and the machines...The one manager teases NO you can't, and we walk over...a few machines are different, but I am sure I'll pick up on them quick. That was that!

I came home and got to work on the rental stuff`...I rented the house for all of July with the exception of a few days in between and working on August!! This is good. Also talked with one of the original dream team, My partner Marge, and another friend about getting the job. Marge was especially happy that I got it and we talked for quite a bit...
So, now I am wiped out....lol, I was teasing about it being gruelling.
Tomorrow I will get caught up with you.

So off to finish a few things before i go to bed, goodnight and again
THANK YOU my friends for your constant and ever loving support!

Tough first day Judy....LOL still so tickled for you.((HUGS)

Hope everyone has a comfortable day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, moving but carefully..just that when I move my neck pain shoots down left side of neck, shoulder, arm and a lot of ouch going on..much better this morning.

Kathy will see if biofreeze is carried here in Canada if not then will look for it when in USA. Doctor is on vacation and am not sitting in emerge for them to tell me to take it easy. Much better, likely tomorrow I'll be step dancing lol

Overcast today, love it in high 60's and low 70's and no humidity..

going back to read yesterdays posts and will be back

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

if you cant get it I will send you some. and listen to people who care about you. don't make me come up there

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

That is "good" stuff Betty, do as Kathy says.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, my chiroprator sells that bio-freeze, it really does help for muscle pains!
Betty, you have a pinched nerve, and you need to have something done about it! Go to a different Dr. You need an orthopedic Dr.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty .. Biofreeze IS available here in Canada. I get mine from a Hand and Upper Limb clinic, but, if you call around I would betcha a chiropractic office might have it.
Love the stuff.

Leah's funeral is this morning, been doing a lot of supportive talking with son and daughter in law, they certainly stepped up to the plate in this situation, but, I can see it's taking a toll on them.

Judy, sounds as though you were WELL prepared for your first day .. good luck over the weekend.

I know I should join in the toe tappping and finger shaking at Betty, but, I can't as I am as bad :-(
The dogs are 'babysitting' me at the moment as Gord and Lorna have gone to get gas for their various machines, AND, they are stopping to have my SUV washed .. I haven't driven it in 3 months, miss being able to get out and have a drive around.
Guess I'll count my trip to the dentist tomorrow as my day OUT .. realized last evening that I likely broke my tooth from gritting my teeth with the pain when I have to get up and 'walk' .. just hope he can fix it and deosn't say .. uhhhhh .. ROOT CANAL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beauty day here .. a bit on my plate .. shower, hairwash, sleep (LOL) and, perhaps, I will attempt to get outside ..

Stay safe and well everyone...

drats, wrote an entire novel and zap, Jackie from Husqvarna called re receiving my Saphire 835, discussed some issues and she asked for Husqvarna dealer in Midland, must have changed screen and lost my post.

I've read everyone's posts more than once, answered each and everyone of you honest I did!!!

Kathy, will start calling around to look for it, am sure I can get it somewhere seeing "M" said she was able to purchase it, anxious to give it a try..using IBUPROFRAN (?) voltaren, Tylenol 333, either I'm on the mend or I'm doped up and not feeling a lot of pain..likely another few days and I will be dancing a 'jig' lol

Did I miss update Debbie re yesterday findings..

waiving to all others, coming back in a bit

Prayers for your family "M" will be a heart wrenching day for them all, not something I'd want to have to face. ouch, here's hoping dentists can fix without a root canal

Did laugh out loud at Judy, always losing her teeth..imagine, them sitting on the table eating away while she was running around fretting. Lordy Judy, how will you manage working on a weekend..will your schedule include weekends or will you be Monday-Friday?? hope it's the latter.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thought I'd share a pic taken this morning prior to the family (my son and his family) going to the funeral.
Typical. my GDaughter is barefooted, like Gramma LoL

Glad to hear you're up Betty .. voltaren is an aspirin type of medication, it's actually quite good, altho, in my experience the 'rub in creme' isn't too effective
As for the biofreeze .. hang tough, it's out there, perhaps a pharmacy (Shoppers) might know ?

Still haven't had the shower, headed there though .. was putzing with resizing the pics Murray sent ..

Lovely family "M", makes the death even more tragic when you see how young the children are and so close to Leah's age..bet you've been hugging them even more so these past few days.

Meant to say Jackie asked me this a.m. who at the Husqvarna shop in Midland said the warrantee would not be covered, told her it was her own Husqvarna office and head office in Toronto Canada..she said she chequed further and it is vague..North America does cover Canada. I e-mailed her the note I got from Husqvarna USA..says she is going to battle on my behalf..she says she cannot believe this as a lot of her supply orders, machines/attachments are sent to her via Toronto..

She wasn't sure that they could send me Saphire 835 new in a box, that's why they gave me a replacement that was showroom model..explained I bought new and expect new in return..

It will take at least 2 weeks for the one I sent back to be repaired..told her that was fine because it isn't to be sent back to me...NOT being difficult but what savings I did save in original purchase has now been taken up re airplane weight cost when I went to Florida in March, the $80.01 on Thursday, trips to various Husqvarna shops etc.

Her main objective is get things sorted because like she says, she sells a lot of machines at her shop to Canadians who spend the winter..

Feel badly for the agent..

Guess all I can do is see what she can do for me. She take take Juanita in Midland and Michelle Sewing in Barrie..wouldn't it be something if they said I could pick up a replacement machine in one of their shops, dreaming aren't I???

Verona, ON

M you made me chuckle with your sign off of 'toodles' - that is something my mam used to say. Also had a big smile when I saw the pretty bare footed young lady. A girl after my own heart!! There are a few of us here on this thread that love to go barefoot. Heavens I have been known to run outside in the snow in my barefeet if I needed to get 1 of the dogs. Not just because I was having a hot flash. Lovely family pic!

Betty have you asked for a referral to a specialist? I know I am one to talk but I agree with others that this has gone on too long and someone a little more specialized might be able to help. Realize you had an injury several years ago but medical science has come a long way Betty and you shouldn't be settled with 'you have to live with it'. Can you take something with coedine in it? There is an OTC pain med that I find sometimes works better than the Oxi or morph I have on hand. It is called Mersyndol and you have to ask the druggist for it. Comes in 20's and 100's. I get mine at WM.

Now Judy do you expect every day to be as hard as your first day? I bet you were exhausted though just from all the anticipation and excitement. Hope your first full day goes by quickly and as Santa Warren used to say that it will be an 'uneventful' shift. When he and I worked at the IGA the computers, meat scales, cash registers .... all those things that have no importance to your job broke down on almost a daily basis. I knew at 7 am if I couldn't get the safe open exactly what kind of day the store was going to have.

Debbie now that you have had a night to think about all the info that was thrown at you yesterday how are you feeling? Lots of decisions will have to be made I am thinking. (((Debbie))) How's Franky today?

Barb how goes the battle today? Hope the pain isn't too bad for you today. How is our Norman doing these days?

LK I chuckled when you spoke about Luna. They really make their mind known don't they? Diesel is anything but subtle. Poor Diesel had his feelings hurt this morning. He just loves everybody and thinks they should love him back. We stopped at a neighbour's to talk this am and they have a new rescue dog. Dixie was maltreated and is having some problems adjusting to all the love this family showers upon her. I am positive she will catch on quickly though! Anyway Dixie decided to take a bite out of Diesel's neck. To say Diesel was shocked would be an understatement - he looked at me with his big eyes as if to say "What just happened?" Thankfully he didn't react in kind. No blood was shed so things are fine. I hate to think of what could have happened if Diesel wasn't so good natured.

Jean I was just listening to the CD Tedeschi Trucks Band Live. Are you familiar with them? Interesting sound.

Susan do you have any more info on when you will be able to get your motorhome?

Just realized I am supposed to meet a friend for lunch today. I had better get my rear into gear or I will be very late.

Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

went back and read your post Debbie, OMG what shall you do being allergic to cats/dogs???? here you have a house full if them??

Katie, you feeling better..

How about you Barb, were you able to stay up a little longer today?

Deb, don't you be worrying about me, you look after yourself, how's the pain today?

Poor Diesel, just when he was trying to make friends. Thanks for Mersyndal info..will get to Shoppers Drug Mart and see exactly what they carry.

Meant to ask, Dianne is your water level down?? are you finding lake to be as busy as it usually is??

marina's in Victoria Harbour and Midland sure are hurting to to low levels..Jeff is thinking of taking the Foxy Lady up the trent last this month for a week or two, yet to be decided..here's hoping, tired of having her as my lawn ornament. lol

Kathy/LindaKay, are you sweltering?

You are all so helpful...

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

it is humid as hell. the air conditioner can't keep up with it

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Got back from the doctor a bit ago and here is what is happening. The sciatica started a chain reaction down the leg to the foot. Once it hit the foot it reacted on a nerve there as well. I am healing (slowly) from the sciatica but the foot now has to have it's own treatment. I have what is called Morton's Neuroma. Quite painful at times and the toes and foot are always tingling. So now I will be on prednisone for a week and then see the foot doctor. My PCP thinks it may be able to be taken care of with cortisone shots. Sure hope so. I really don't want more surgery.
Off to have a bite of lunch - waving hello to all and sending gentle hugs as they seem to be the order for today.....

Verona, ON

Do you have lots of healthy snacks and some not so healthy snacks on hand Barb? Both Warren and I when we were on prednisone were starving all the time. At least for a couple of weeks Warren didn't lose any more weight. Sure hope they can get this pain level lowered for you.

Yes Betty the water level is way down. The prop shops are doing a booming business this season. A couple of nights ago someone hit a rock close to our dock - unheard of before this year - did so much damage he had to call someone to come give him a tow. I had told them they could anchor at our dock if need be if they couldn't get someone with a boat to come rescue them. Probably would have been a long walk home for them! I had the dizzies so couldn't even offer to give them a lift.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Dianne, I have been a fan of Susan Tedeschi-Trucks since I saw her at the Hog's Breath saloon in Houston in 97 or 98....have you heard her solo album Just Won't Burn? She and husband Derek Trucks got together in 2001.....Blues for the new age....GRIN

Verona, ON

Haven't heard the solo album Jean but I like her well enough I will order it the next time I order from Amazon. Yep blues for the new age is so right!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Because I'm heading New Orleans way, got the blues on sirius XM blasting..rather like it..Paul is a fan of blues maybe I'll look for her album as well!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

It was her first album, released when she was 28. We were so tickled for her. Prior to that I had a demo cd that a friend who knew her sent me....Susan was just starting to get a little recognition and then she got the deal with Tone-Cool records. So happy she is seeing success.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, wanted to add that Bio-Freeze is amazing! our entire family has used it, and with my sensitive skin, I do
not have a problem at all. It helped me so much through my tough days.

I have no idea what to do with the furbabies.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks Debbie..

think I'd keep furries I have until bless their souls they pass on then not get more..know you would never part with Izzy or the kitties. On the other hand, if your health is being threatened to the extent it is ????

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh meant to add, you all start a 4 day weekend tonight, what kind of plans do you all have??

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Putting on my galoshes and making a trip to the cemetery......well maybe depends on whether or not the roads are closed due to the heavy rains. Major flooding in the area and rain has been coming down pretty hard all day. Heaven help Florida if a hurricane should develop or any where up the Eastern Seaboard. Planning on having something I only made when the kids were younger....beanie weenies..yum good!!

I just found out a bit ago DH has to work tomorrow. So that really stinks!

Shannon has been pitching in to help clean up.

Betty, several of our cats are getting up there in age, as is Isabelle for a large breed.
IF Shannon ever is able to live on her own again, two or three of the cats will go with her.
Lexi is hers....and she is now 10 years old. Franky & Dexter are 13 & 12.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's hope then Debbie that meds/needles will help until time comes when you can visit furries in a zoo rather than have them at home..know that will be a sad day!

Shannon gave up her apartment right?

Drats, not good that Paul has to work tomorrow,of all days!!!

Lordy Marion you sure are getting your fill of rain..let's hope you are able to make the trip to the cemetery.

weenie beanies (weiners and beans) sound delicious..I absolutely love bean sandwiches, always a treat.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Flooding is getting to be serious around here now. Many, many rivers are flooding and those in low lying areas are in for it. Thankfully I am high but the highway I travel into Tally has several bridges that I cross and the water is starting to get really high.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

having a bbq in the rain. have 10 people coming.
menue
smoked boston butt
fried turkey
babyback ribs
shrimp
deviled eggs
potatoe salad
baked beans
burgers
hot dogs
lemon merange pie
chocolate poke cake
cheese and peperoni
spinach dip

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone!
Betty, right now it is 92, and that is supposed to be our high for today and tomorrow. Not to bad!
Dianne, so sorry to hear that Diesel got bit, and really glad it was not a serious bite!
Beanies and weenies sound good.

Andy and Family are on the way here, they should be here about 6 or so, easy dinner tonight, BBQ baby back ribs tomorrow with potato salad and baked beans. Then fireworks when it gets dark!
Pool is set up, so the kids can have fun!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Goodness Kathy, that is a lot of food!

Betty, I sure hope you get a phone call that says you can go to someplace in Canada to pick up a new machine!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Marion, you won't take chances going in for your annual 4th of July visit with hubby is rain continues, much to dangerous..weather sure has played havoc with USA and Canada this year.

Holy wah Kathy, am hoping you aren't doing all the cooking, everyone bringing something..my mouth is watering for fried turkey and ribs with a piece of merangue pie!

LindaKay bet you are watching the clock waiting for the arrival of the family, what fun watching the kids excitement..not too dry to set off firecrackers, no ban??

Had a call last night about 10pm, was Bernice across the street, said she had something she wanted to give me for my garden..walked over awhile ago, Lordy it's over 6' tall, in the shape of a cathedral window, wood and screen..guess it protected stained glass window at St Mary's Church..good part of the church burnt years ago, she bought a church pew and this piece, thought I might like to make an area for it, sort of a ?? Hmm the word, mind not working, meditation/ prayer area?? I'll remember later..not about to try carrying something anout 3-4' wide and over 6' high..nothing I could carry!

Greg took Noah to soccer, will stop in on his way home as I told him with Mel working night shift I had hot rolls and container of spaghetti for their supper , am sure it is worthy of his taking 5 minutes to go get it...

can so hear Greg say "mom, now tell me what are you going to do with this big piece?". Likely means creating another garden area when i am feeling better but wont tell Greg my ideas though. Lol

mulege, Mexico

Hi Everyone, Hot as blue blazes here. The igloo is coming along. I'm almost over the cold and am sleeping more than usual recovering from it and the trip. It usually takes me a few weeks to get back to normal, whatever that is.

Very hot and humid here. Kitchen temp (where computer is) is about 100 so I'll not linger.

In this weather, any progress is good. I'm able to do a little to help Tony along and am gradually organizing craft stuff.

hugs, katie

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

yes, I have been cooking and prepping all day
my back hurts so much from being on my feet all day, i'm going to take a oxycodone. don't like them cuz they make me stupid

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Kathy, do you have to have so many items on the menu, you'll pay for the hurt for days to come.

Katie, glad you checked in..wow, am sure you eat cold cuts and fruit, who would cook in that weather? Will you celebrate 4th of July with your USA neighbors? Does Mexico have a special day like our Canada Day and 4th of July?

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Absolutely not Betty. If it is raining like it is today and depending on the flood situation, I may or may not go. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Katie, I am the same way about recovering from trips....takes more and more out of me each time.

Kathy, I will be on my way to your house so make that 11.....oh how I wish I could but need to stay and take care of the kitty babies.

Lucky you LK, my 2 are at the beach camping....well I think they are. I talked with their dad this morning re: weather so I don't know if they stayed or not. They have been having rain each day and being cooped up in a camper trailer with an active 10 and 8 year old just might be getting old.

More rain...yet, still or whatever........................
