Lyndonville, NY

Good morning, going to be a hot and humid one.

Prayers for Joyce & Bill

Marion, that dang chair jumped right out at me...twice! Its a pretty purple today. lol

I have a feeling DH set it up to happen....there is a BIG craft show in nearby town that
the girls and I had planned on going too. Both sides of the street, covers about 3/4 mile
total, and lots of goodies to look at. It is hard enough to walk in the heat...now I don't know
if I can get a shoe on. lol

Not sure what the day holds....but going to keep busy!

Debbie

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I so understand about those moving chairs!!! :-) I also have a problem with stairs that shift.

I am sure you will find a way to make a shoe for walking Debbie. Sounds like a fun trip and if I were closer I would be begging to go with you. Our shows are mostly in the winter and early spring...bummer!!

I am also adding my prayers for Joyce and Bill.

Betty, behave yourself today...tall order, I know, but you can do it. LOL

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hi all,

My thoughts and prayers are with Joyce and her family, especially her father in law. I hope his passing is peaceful, with the ativan and morphine on board it should be.

OUCH Debbie, taping the owie toe to the one next to it works quite well. Speaking from experience here LOL

Looks to be a stellar day here. Near 80F
Had a thunderstorm last evening, and it looks as though our Canadian long weekend is going to be a soggy one right across the country.

Spending the day in bed, so far. Kinda overdid it yesterday. Stayed up in the wheelchair too long. THAT was what I learned yesterday, my sitting limit is 90 minutes.
I may try to get out and sit on the patio for a while, look at the flowers.

Whatever you're doing today, enjoy

Marion, you know me too well, I can stay in the house and still end up in trouble!

Debbie/Debbie/Debbie, shaking my finger at you, had I known about such a craft sail I would have headed over, mailed my sewing machine from your side of the border. Here's hoping you won't be in too much pain for walking. There you go, blaming that poor Paul again lol

"M" its 75 here with 65% humidity and Feels like 86..hate walking on the floor in bare feet, feels as though I've just washed the floors. Missy/Riley are taking it easy as well, that's when you know it's hot outside.

they did call for rain all week and it didn't happen so let's hope the weatherman is telling tales again and it will be sunshine..I know last year was 100% sunshine the entire weekend and great company at my house to enjoy...will miss that this weekend.

Suzanne just asked if I'd like to go to Midland Saturday for July 1st festivities, I must be getting older, crowds are tempting me to go.

Thought came to mind as I drove in this morning, with going to Kyle's graduation likely will come across ex and his daughter as they have one graduating as well, NOT, looking forward to that..haven't seen him in 8 years.

I'll be in and out before I can be seen..lol..

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Talked to Joyce last nite, she said he stopped breathing for 45 minutes, then started again. It should be soon. Bill is pure wore out. His gout is flaring up, and can't take pain pills because of the cumidin. Many prayers going to J oyce, Bill and the family

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thanks for the update..waiting is so hard on the family!
Joyce must be exhausted, had her trip here with me for a week and didn't stop, got home and Bill was deathly ill and now this. Know she was to go away again I'm not sure if it was Michigan or Minnesota on a bus trip, guess that has had to go by the wayside...if you talk with her again, please let he know we are all thinking of her!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I will Betty, as soon as I hear anything

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I found out yesterday that my stupid exhusband is putting my son in Go-Cart Racing.I am fixing to try to put a stop to it.May end up taking him to court over it.He just turned 8 years old this month. That is something my child should not be doing. That is very dangerous and i don't want him hurt at all.

I agree with you. I wouldn't allow my grandson to do it either

This man has done nothing but put me through hell since my son was born.He has tried every lie in the book to have him taking away from me.Til this day my son still lives with me.This is just how stupid them people are. They race to and my son has watched his dad, wreck a 4-wheeler and go-cart.He wants to put my baby in this crap so he can get hurt.I told him and my lawyer that if my baby gets hurt before i can stop this that i was going after my ex.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

you go girl, and stick to your guns.

This child is my world and he does not need to be go-cart racing.

Sorry to hear your going through so much. Hope you can cancel this.

This is my son

Thanks y'all.I am going too.My lawyer already knows about it.

Jody, seeing you have custody he should abide by your decision.

I cannot speak for the 'un-safe' things men and boys do, my children always partook in such things, were taught the safety, wore proper equipment and never had a broken bone, grandchildren have done same..I always felt they would at some time try it, better they learned the safety of it al!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Southgal
Your son looks more like a baseball kinda boy, what a cutie.
My experience with GoCarts has been more on the dislike side, but, my son was 15 when he was involved with them.
Hopefully you'll be able to make your ex see sense, and cancel the activity.

Yikes..a big old thunderstorm just went through Thunder Bay, earning our name the past few days.
Piper is not happy, sleeping on the LayZboy with Dad!

Got me butt off the bed and into the wheelchair for about an hour, nuff for me.
Crazy nurse that I am, I keep thinking about blood clots if I don’t move around.

Betty i don't have full custody, but i do have the major say so,because he lives with me.Thats why i will take him to court.Yeah i know boys want to do that stuff.I just don't want my son to do it.To me that stuff is dangerous and he is my only child,When they do that stuff they keep my son out until 1 or 2 in the morning.A child does not need to be out that late.I am sorry, but thats just how i feel.I am sure their are alot of parents in this world that does not allow that and i am one of them.

Oh Debbie your poor toes. Have done the same thing - not walking into a chair but a box spring but I swear it just jumped right out in front of me while I was walking. What is the name of the show you were thinking about going to? I might drive into Kingston this weekend if I feel OK and go to the show we went to last summer.

sending positive thoughts and prayers to Joyce and Bill. Poor Bill - Warren suffered from gout too and it is very painful. In fact Warren complained more about the pain from his gout than his cancer.

The dizzies are not getting any better in fact more intense. Have talked with my GP and we have a game plan but it doesn't matter as nothing will happen till early fall. *sigh*

Barb how are you feeling now? Pain settling down at all?

I had a visitor yesterday and it was the best visit and news I have had in weeks. My new cleaning lady who starts on July 2 came to look at the house and give me a quote. I was tickled pink with her quote and what she proposes to do. She had a large cleaning service in Ottawa before she and her family moved here. In fact one of her crews cleaned for a friend of mine in Ottawa. Small world, eh? She is working by herself and just takes on a few jobs to keep herself busy and to get some extra pin money. She cleans for 1 of our seasonal residents here on the lane and they highly recommend her.

we have had heat, humidity and lots of T and L over the last week. I caved and turned the AC on last Sunday. I won't be shy about cranking it up again this summer. I don't know what it is but I have such a thing about turning the AC on for the first time. Debbie is your AC in now?

Betty you sure have had bad luck with that Husky. Here's hoping you either get a full refund or a new machine. I hate how these large companies think they can treat their customers so badly. Will you be able to get the quilt finished in time? Looking forward to your photos from the graduation. Congratulations to Kyle!!

Diesel and I are going to head out and dodge the bugs while we walk. The skeeters are like jumbo jets this summer and very thirsty.
Dianne

Thanks Marilynnes,my son plays baseball, basketball and golf. Its not like he doesn't do anything. He has 4 golf trophies,2 baseball trophies and 2 basketball trophies.

Lyndonville, NY

Hi Dianne! yes, we have AC in as of last weekend when DH got the VERY suttle hint when I moved
the 500 lb. entertainment center (Shannon and I just pushed it down the wall) , complete with equipment, and the loveseat....so he had full access to the needed area for putting it in.

It is the Lockport Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival in Lockport NY.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Debbie, where is Lyndonville located? i'm from the albant area- taborton mountain

Verona, ON

Debbie is there a show called Chapel Hill near you? I can't remember if it is in July and August. You had to pay $100.00 to be juried for it and the money was non refundable if you didn't get in. Our cottagers from Rochester used to rave about the festival. Glad your AC is in!!!

Marian when you lived in London did you ever go up to Collingwood to see the Blue Mountain factory? It has really changed over the years as I guess we all have .lol My mam had several pieces of the pottery but I have no idea what my DB did with them. Sore point there as my DB closed out my mam's apartment and put her in a nursing home without telling me.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice seeing you post Dianne, you've been looking for some time for a cleaning lady, glad she is perfect for the job!

Here's hoping your dizzies subside so you can get to Kingston this weekend.
Must be you sending me these skitters, big enough to carry me away..been my excuse not to be working outside of late. Did have a fogger when on the farm, might drop in to Canadian tire and see what the charge for the fogger and the chemical. Crossing my fingers here as well Dianne about the Husqvarna..made a big mistake, last night i went down and took it off the quilting frame, started to pin, didn't do a great job, lots of puckering, thinking tomorrow to put it back on the frame then pin as I roll to get a taunt finish. Might be in trouble, big sigh!!

Jody, you've got yourself quite an athlete and yes everyone has different interests, that is what makes the world go on..lots to do as well with how you were brought up yourself, country vs city plays a big part of it as well! 1 or 2 in the morning doesn't cut it!

Debbie, look for something exciting for me will you..something that's not the norm!
you know me, need ideas.. was going to say for our DG workshop that I send out in November but know you'd all like to slap me silly even going towards the topic of Christmas.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, did you know that the Blue Mountain Pottery has closed!

When I went to see Aunt Muriel it was all the sets of her blue mountain pottery that she wanted me to have..dolhins, elephants, bowl etc. Have to try and go this weekend or next to pick them up, not sure what I will do with them once I pick them up, we'll see. The pull taffee store was across the street from BlueMountain Pottery, remember stopping there quite a bit

Lyndonville, NY

Jo....I am right between Buffalo and Rochester. North of Medina NY down by Lake Ontario.

Betty if I go I will keep an eye out. They won't let me take pictures so will have to be sly if I can.

Next week on 4th of July, we have the craft show....not as big...but down here on our School yard green. Along with town festivites for the day. Between the two, I hope I can spot something for you.

Lyndonville, NY

Dianne, do you mean Corn Hill? That is I think July 12 & 13, we went last year and it was so so nice!

Verona, ON

I had no idea it had closed Betty. I figured it was one of those things that would be around forever. I remember the taffy store. Yum! Now my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Understand your dilemma about bringing home Aunt Muriel's gifts. I have a feeling you are much like me in that if you see something you like you buy it ....... thus we have no room for any additions.

Chuckled about your lawn and weeds Betty as mine is the same. In fact Debbie's fleeds are doing much better than the flowers in the garden.I've just let the wild daisies bloom - they look great in the garden. I thought I was going to have an extra tree lily bloom this year but I see this morning the deer have fixed that. Diesel was restless in the night but didn't scare the deer off until they had eaten the tree lily and one of my hostas. There is 1 rabbit (Debbie close your eyes for a moment) who is quite bold and Diesel will get him 1 day. The rabbit doesn't move until Diesel starts towards it. Great exercise for Diesel but 1 day the rabbit isn't going to be so lucky.

Susan thanks for sharing your adventure and photos with us. That's a trip you won't forget for awhile. Very happy for you that things were A OK at your home.

Verona, ON

Yes, yes, yes Debbie, that's it!

Lyndonville, NY

Dianne, how could you....Spencer is crushed!!!

This is his "shocked" look!

Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy Thumbnail by DebbiesDaisy

Thanks Betty,i have alway lived in the country. That goes to show what kind of stupid people they are. They have always kept him out that late.He knows i don't want my son out that late. That goes to show what kind of parents they areThey have kids of their own.I was brought up being over protected, because thats how my father raised me.My father lost his parents when he was 12 years old and a year later he lost his brother. So thats why he was over protected of me growing up,because i am the youngest of my sister and brother.

Thats why i am over protected of my son, because he is my only child.

Debbie I showed Diesel Spence's shocked look ........... Diesel says he looks nothing like the rabbit outside of the house. Diesel had to admit Spencer was just too cool for him to chase.

mulege, Mexico

what is the purpose of the new format except to leave big blank spaces on both side of whatever I'm looking at?

Still gasping for air so I'm not doing much of anything. The insulation on the north bedroom should be in tomorrow and I may be able to move my bed there. It will be a huge improvement as it has the better a/c unit and no southern sun. West side has some shade and insulation.

My head cold has moved to my lungs. I got lots of sleep yesterday and last night so am feeling better but no energy due to shortness of breath. My knee is almost all better, formerly frozen shoulder is almost all better, little arthritis pain (thanks to heat, I think). All in all, doing well and looking forward to complete recovery.

We are calling the bedroom which is being insulated "The Igloo." I got bamboo fencing to put under the insulation (great idea from Pinterest).

Big hugs and prayers for all of my friends here, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Dianne, so nice to see you posting. Sure hope you get an answer for your dizzies soon! Are they from the meds your taking?
Katie, please go to the Dr. If you have pneumonia, it needs to be taken care of!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Katie, be careful. from what you're saying you might have pneumonia. that's how it started when I had double pnumonia

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes, Katie, please do see your Dr....there are a number of unpleasant respiratoy viruses going around...good to know things are fixing to cool down for you. Do take care.

Nice to see you Dianne. Sorry you are still having dizzy spells. So good you have found a good affordable cleaning lady. More free time for Diesel, Eric and Joe.....grin.

Verona, ON

Dawn my new cleaning lady fell madly in love with Diesel. Going to have to check the back seat of her car before she leaves each day. The arrival of Dawn has spurred me on to a purging of my closets and laundry room. Not that they needed it ..lol

Katie take good care of yourself, don't let this cold get a hold of you. Chuckled at your igloo room!

LK we know it is not my meds. That was the first thing the doc did waaaay back when these dizzies started. I did an elimination of my Rxs and there was no change.

Oh Betty I sure hope there is AC at the Graduation ceremony.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne I believe it closed in 2004 as they couldn't compete with the market. I believe just recently the man who last owned it passed away. Sad isn't it, as it sure represented our blue mountains. As for the pottery, I have to find a place for it, sad to see that someone who so appreciates their collection can't give it to anyone..guess I am the on.

Oops ride is here
Dressed and ready to meet up with family!

Even though temps are cool in the house there is hardly any air to breath, soo humid.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Good to see you post Dianne. So you belong to the same club Debbie and I belong to? "The moving chair, shifting stairs club". Yes, I did visit the Blue Mountain Factory when I lived with my brother. We went through Collingwood on one of our many trips around Ontario just seeing the sights. I was fortunate enough to bring home a few pieces from that trip. I also have some soapstone that has been sent as gifts at various times from my family in Ontario. I treasure each piece and have such great memories of that time.

Katie, I am joining the other and saying please take care and see a doctor.

Just talked with my sister in south Florida and she said they had just had a horrible rain storm.....5" standing water in her pasture ditches and her lawn (what there is left from all the rain) in under water again. Sure wish some would come this way as my plants are wilting again.

Well off to watch a movie with Kim. Have a great evening everyone.

mulege, Mexico

Saw my doctor in San Diego two weeks ago and I'm doing well. My temperature is a little below normal and the mucus I'm coughing up is clear or white (Yellow or bloody say get to the doctor, clear or white do not indicate infection). Doctors are in short supply here in the Mexican desert and I do seem to be improving as indicated by being able to sleep more. cough less and wash the dishes. The laundry is next but not until I'm feeling better.

I appreciate the concern but think I probably picked up a cold or flu while with the thousands of people around Amma.

If I seem to be getting worse I'll have Tony take me to the clinic in Santa Rosalia but for now I think I'm better served by resting at home.

hugs, Katie

P.S. three days ago I broke a dish, a lamp and a glass mug all within a space of a few hours. Was definately not functioning well. Much better now.
