Morning everyone. Debbie, thanks for the update on Susan. Can't to hear her story on the helicopter ride! Susan, sure hope your home is doing OK!

Debbie, sounds like you really like those little ones! Don't over do it.

Lyndonville, NY

Linda, I love kids on "short" intervals and when it doesn't interfere with my new routines in life.
This 5:30 a.m. business just doesn't work with me. LOL I do have a bad habit to break with this one
already....she is glued to the TV when it is on and would say 10 hours right there. That I don't think
is right for little ones.

Breakfast is on the way.....so have to get her dressed and we are heading out to do some errands.

Picturing Betty on the Spider gave me a smile!

Debbie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Checking in too from NH. Glad to hear that Susan is okay. If they had to be rescued, now I'm worried about her camper!!!!!
Hope Dianne pops in soon.
Waving to all......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh happy days re Susan, just like family, worry when one of our chicks goes missing!
Can't wait to hear her story as well.

Debbie, I loved the spider, I want one, really want one..thinking I should get my spider permit so when Greg is off on holidays and I'm watching the dogs I can go for a ride..lol

OMG Debbie, with all on your plate you agreed to babysit 3 days a week??? did you have a glass of wine too many?? kidding, know you don't drink

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I agreed to babysit my grandson for a couple weeks...almost 18 years later he is still here.....grin Is this a temporary thing Debbie?

Victoria Harbour, ON

lol Jean, you are a character..know you are loving every minute of it!

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
OMG, waiving Hiya Crissy, so glad to see you post. yippeee on the sale of your house and move. I hope that you will be happy in the new location.

Oh gosh, can't wait to hear Susan's trip. So glad she is home and i hope can check in soon.

Glad your feeling a bit better Barbara.
Sure hope the dizzies pass Dianne, that's got to be pretty obnoxious as is the sciatic pains for Barb. I have had issues with the nerves in my leg, can't walk for very long, it gets so frustrating for me. So hope you both get over that.

checking in here too!!

So, I have am almost done with my organizing, for which I am pretty excited. This has been such a long tedious job. But now i can focus on a few other things.

So today I have got to get to library, my books were do yesterday, yikes! Oh i sure hope they have the last book of the series. Also i have been looking for the first 2 books of the People series, Sistah Jaye has sent me the the third of the series to read and i just cant make myself read it without first reading the first, lol.

Did most of the house work this weekend so I've a little bit of free time, speaking of, I am just so delighted because my Very favorite Drop Dead Diva is back and also, Americas Got Talent!! Oh my gosh i will be in heaven once project Runways starts again....LOL

Well, Debbie, I so agree that little one should not be watching that much tv, but yikes it sure is addicting. Gosh so glad Paul got the AC working for you. We just put ours on friday.

Linda kay and everyone, were you able to see the Super moon last night? We it was a big bummer hear, stormy here so no awesom visual for us and we were all pretty bummed. But for the first time in a very long time We were all together and each of the kids had their boy/girl friends over, we had such a great visit.
Thought about you and your day at the beach! So my 18 year old has taken to going to the beach pretty regularly, He asked me yesterday where the sand buckets were and helped himself to my garden trowels. LOL, I laughed, as i said wow you all as adults play in the sand more now then when you were kids!

Emily is a sweet girl, very quiet, She and Jacob just went to dinner to celebrate 1month of dating. LOL, I said congratulations and she laughed and said she didn't realize the date, but she was tickled to know Jacob kept track! She will be attending the UIC, we call it Circle campus, she will be studying Special Education.
David has been super busy still working 2 jobs and now they are getting a Kitten! Any way, he is applying to a job he is hoping to get in. If he gets hired, please cross fingers for him! Then he will end both the jobs he has now, as at the place he applying for has normal 9-5 mon thru fri working hours and not to mention the money is fantastic!
Then we have Sabrina's "just" friend, Patrick! lol they have been hanging out for quite sometime, well they finally decided to be a couple. I am really happy for her and well, he is just a sweetheart, not to mention he treats her like a princess which of course she is, haha. He has a great job working with computers, drives a sweet car, and now totes her to where ever she wants to go. They just signed up at a health club because she decided they need to loose weight.
My honey just finished a major project and starting a new one. He had a slight lull and wham! Things are getting Busy for both of us. ROFLOL, only thing is im still working for free, he says i'm working for the cause, sigh I guess he's right for now!
OK I'm off to send a note and head to the library...enjoy the day, stay cool.

Betty, i am so glad you actually took time to rest!! LOL, never thought i'd read that you were doing exactly that.

Woohoo...Blackhawks won!! That mean they move on, I don't watch hockey but, certainly cheer our teams when they are doing so well. And if they continue, i will watch the final game...
Ok now I really got to get moving!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I did see the super moon, it was so pretty, but I don't have any pictures.

Lyndonville, NY

I so hope this is a temporary thing as I have realized I am NOT cut out for this. Maybe it is a good thing I do not have grandchildren.
This little thing is a mouthy pistol today!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon,

lordy, it's 93 here in Barrie not counting the feels like 101 yikes, glad I put the a/c on last night!

At least Debbie did you take it on as a paying job, little bit of pocket $$$..amazing at that age how they can be mouthy..pepper/soap on the tongue or neal on a pie plate of peas..so funny, used to tell the boys that now if you threatened such a thing in jail you would be.

Lindakay, now where was your camera?

Judy, omg one of my favorite shows is Drop Dead Diva, what night will it be on..doing happy dance as well. Glad you've gotten caught up and can now visit with us..
Go Blackhawks, now that MapleLeafs are out of it, I'll cheer along with you...used to watch hockey but that was when there was about 8 teams playing, forget it now. Maybe I watched when young because a neighbors daughter would sell tickets on the game and if you won you got a big $25. and $50 during play-offs.

Sounds like the family are just gung ho for the summer, got their lives together..here's hoping it's a sign of good things.

Suzanne called me last night, told me to remind her this morning that there was a major project to do so didn't bring anything in to work on..get here, change of plans so here I sit.

have been busy though...

disappointed in the fabric shop that services machines, dropped my Husqvarna off on Thursday, repairman was coming in on Friday to check it over, called this morning, he had a family emergency and not sure when he will get into the shop...might just have to get up early Saturday morning and head to Buffalo for the day, was hoping not to.

this check in works well!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Camera was in the house. I had my new smart phone, but it does not take good night pictures!

Just heard that another fertilizer plant in Indiana exploded, one dead so far!
What's up with all these fertilizer plants?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry to hear about another explosion, how odd! what is the weather like in your neck of the woods LindaKay

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Home now, just tired out after all that's gone on since Thurs:
1. water shut off at campsite cuz the water was "compromised"
2. Told we wouldn't be able to leave the campground because of mudslides taking out 5 bridges on Highway 40 out of Kananaskis
3. No idea when we'd be able to leave. Got one message out to friends in Calgary, but then the phones went down, and no internet to email anyone.
4. At 10:50 Sat night told we had to be "mandatory evacuated" by helicopter - 1/2 hour to prepare 2 bags to take (one each)
5. Arrived at helicopter in parking lot, then told the pilots had used all their hours flying and couldn't be flown out until next morning. Went home and repacked with more thought. Went to sleep at 1:30 am, and woke at 6:00.
6. Waited by sde of the road to be picked up to go to Lodge and get re-registered for being flown out.
7. Nine am - picked up and taken to Lodge, arriving at 9:15am.
8. Told that people from last night, already registered, were to be first out that day and we were late........
9. Bob & I were put on two different helicopters, leaving at different times.
10 Bob arrived where I was, at helicopter pad, without his suitcase, which was left on the side of the road where helicopter picked him up.
11. Choose to wait at hanger until our luggage was brought - 1/2hr later they brought it.
12. School bus to Calgary, then Red Cross sent us home by taxi. Got home at 4:15.
13 Ordered pizza and tried to call everyone who was worried, both in Winnipeg, and Calgary.
14. Still getting calls and requests today.

Very tired......

No flooding at our home in Calgary - we're high enuff.....

Betty - are u using old Shaw email, or new-since-oct Telus email address for me..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I Hope your camper is okay Susan and I'm thrilled that both you and Bob are home safe.....God Bless...

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks
Camp managers are staying, and rv is all locked up, food given away to the Lodge in next campground, and we've gone grocery shopping for replacement supplies here.

I appreciate the worry I put everyone through........ and I'm sorry.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nothing to be sorry about, we were all worried..now try to beat that camping story. Lol. You will rest well tonight!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am watching the rain showers. Had a downpour here for about an hour.

I gave up and made coffee, it is so hot out I didn't want it...but then thought I would get a headache,
so just used my "one cup" pot. Glad I did!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

I'm here, got caught up in an 1 1/2. Show of 'scared straight' for young offenders..sent link to Greg and told him to sit with Noah and watch.

Worked a bit on my trip, Linda reminded me this morning that 36 more days and we will be on the road, are they anxious or what??

Was 73 when I left at 7:00 this morning, everything feels so wet in the house even though dehumidifier is going

Debbie, you resting today?

Judy, Judy did you see Chicago win the cup last night?? Cheers

Susan, you still sleeping..hear gmt is issuing bank cards to all involved in flooding for approx. $1,200 per adult, sure would help kick start those in need of funds..kudos to them

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thunder, are you off today?
Debbie, feet up and play at being a lady of leisure.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I have no plans to travel today, and so far am home alone. Shannon had to go to the college for paperwork, so
I am enjoying my coffee and peace and quiet.

Have my meds in me and waiting for BP to calm down. I think it is the dang humidity!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hiya
Popping in to say 'hiya'. Don't think I've been on this forum since, hmmmm, 2010!!
I seem to post exclusively on the Canadian Gardening forum with the lovely Betty.
Guess I just felt I should announce our expected HIGH today is going to be 30C, or, 90F....lawsie.... Thank goodness for air conditioning even though my joints hate it.

Enjoy your day, so happy Susan and Bob are ok :)

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh "M" glad you dropped in here as well as our gabbing on the Canadian thread.

Everyone, "M" and I have been friends for years..these past months has been waiting for a surgery date and confined to a bed a good part of some days..she's a champ, been a struggle but always in a good humour..wish she didn't live so far north in Ontario where I could visit and offer a hand..don't be a stranger, keep chatting with us!

Think "M", Debbie and I are swelling due to high humidity. All winter we 3 moaned about the snow and the cold and look at us now lol more moaning..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey MarilynneS, glad to meet you. I am Linda from Texas. it is hot and humid here today too. I just washed the mustang, and came in soaking from the humidity. 81 degree's and 71% humidity.

Lyndonville, NY

It is your fault it is raining Linda, you washed the car!!!

Hi Marilynne, do I recognize you from Pets thread? or a different Marilynne?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yea, that is how it works, if you want it to rain, wash the car!

Lyndonville, NY

If I washed my van, it would fall apart....dirt & rust only thing holding it together. I "turned 200,000" yesterday.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hello. To all

Thanks for the introduction Betty.
Have to say today is one of those 'not going anywhere fast 'days
Was up in the wheelchair for about 90 minutes, but, me butt went numb! Gotta luv, numb bum, NOT!!
Plan to do some reading this afternoon, maybe try and get outside with hubby and Lorna and the dogs, depends on how far I can hobble.

Hope everyone enjoys their day, wherever you may be :)

M

Victoria Harbour, ON

One of the trees in my yard, right where I park my car is bleeding sap like crazy in this weather so after washing it twice I've had to park it near the roadside..I did get ambitious on Sunday and vacuumed it at car wash..talk about sand being hard to take out of the rugs.

Couple just came in and said it was beyond hot out there..should go down and bring the case of pop upstairs that I bought this morning before it's all over the car.

"M" you remember you are ONLY watching not working

Lyndonville, NY

Marilynne, do you still have little Lilly????

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hey ~M~!! So glad to see u here!!

Betty - what's gmt? We sure don't need the help from it, but I agree "kudos" to them for helping those in need.
