Sissy...hope your appt. went well and he gave you some good stuff.

The reason I'm actually on here is to thank Pegi for sending it, and for all you sistahs for thinking of me at this time. I got the "armwrap" quilt and I put it on immediately. Turns out it came just in time. Got it in yesterdays mail same time we got the call that Bill's dad had taken a turn for the worst. So we spent most of the day there except when we went to the airport to pick his sister up. We came home about 9:30 last night. Sister, Aunt and MIL spent night there. Sis says at 8:00 this morning, better come. So off we go. He's on atavan and morphine now. Won't be long, but he's still hanging on tonight. We came home to get some food. Only junk available to visitors.

Bill's gout has flared up and he can't take the medicine he usually takes for that because of his blood thinners. Dr. says take Vicodin, but he doesn't want to do that either....so he's just pushing fluids and grin and bear it.

Today, Bill's dad stopped breathing twice for about 45 seconds...then he started again. At one point there were 11 of us in the room. Thankfully, they moved his roommate out until this is over. It was really crowded yesterday, and the guy had his tv blaring. NOT GOOD!

Sue, sorry you're having troubles with your house guests....want to run away?????

Again, thank you all for your hugs and the quilt. I will send it on it's way to the next lucky girl after it's served its' purpose for me!

Yes you sistah's are right . It is the parent , I tried to make my rules apply to this boy , but Jesus save me ! I almost took the boy by the arm , hung him upside down outside and well...... i decided to be calm about it :) yes come on down ladies :) i need sistah's and we can visit Cookie too.
the Devil child and his family are gone. Unfortunalety we may see them july 6 th at my parents when we are in CA next week. oh lawdy lawdy .

So sorry to read about your FIL Joyce. I am the extra weight you feel on your shoulder who is holding you tightly!!! I am beginning to hate this part of the year as it brings so many memories flooding into my mind. Life must go one so I will try to only think positive thoughts.
BTW, you might as well send a kitty too but no "sending" I only accept deliveries in person!! :-)

Cookie, that prayer shawl will envelope you with hugs, love and comfort that you're needing. It's incredible how sistah Judy sewn all those hands and when I first put it on, this rush of emotion came over me.
So many I haven't met, and yet I feel their presence. Sistah Judy never thought that a birthday gift will turn out into a sistahs' comfort and prayer shawl. We share our love well after all!

Sorry Marion, here I was teasing you about sending you some kitties, and tonight, Patches.. my diluted calico.. died in my arms.
She was at the vet for check up this morning. She had slight congestion and he dewormed her and started antibiotics treatment..
I know I'm not talking of a child, but each time one die, it hits me hard.
Maybe that's why the feral cat abandoned her litter, knowing they're too sick to survive. Plus respiratory illnesses in young kittens can be fatal.
At least Patches had three weeks of cuddles and love.

Kel's at work, he'd be devastated with this sudden turn of events. The nights when he's home, he would hug Patches close to his chest and they'd both fall asleep.
The bed now is all Lola's!

Oh YAY!!!! Look at our temps starting Friday and lasting at least 6 days not liking that at all. I hear the river calling me and the dogs!!!!!

I'm glad the prayer shawl arrived safely and you are feeling all the sistah's love. I know it will bring you a lot of comfort as it did me.

Cindy, not good news about the hot days ahead. I'm surely not looking forward to any of it. I'm not about to go out and try to paint in this kind of weather. It is either early in the morning and later on toward evening. I'm still thinking about the placement of the flag, should it cover entire doors or not. Been so busy running to doctors with DH I don't have time to do any of my projects. He is seeing a pulmonary doctor tomorrow afternoon. He has some disease of the lungs now, eye doctor told me the name, but don't know how to say it now. When it rains, it pours.

Cookie, the first to get some comfort from it was Faye (Dahtzu), then it went on to Barb, our Sue before Pegi.
I don't think no other group in DG has a communal token of comfort while giving the wearer hope.

Barb, if you're lurking, I do hope your pain lessen with each day. Have you tried seeing a chiro?

Kel took it very hard this morning. He spent an hour on the floor, cradling Patches' cold body. .
Under his favorite Pawlonia tree she'll be buried.
Patches truly was a heaven sent diversion that he need for the 3 weeks of mess he faced with his parents..

no jaye, still no sleepy. fell asleep around 11, and have been awake since 2

Talked to Joyce last nite, she said he stopped breathing for 45 minutes, then started again. It should be soon. Bill is pure wore out. His gout is flaring up, and can't take pain pills because of the cumidin. Many prayers going to J oyce, Bill and the family

Oh my, I can only imagine what the family must have gone through after not breathing for 45 minutes. Ross did that twice but no where near 45 minutes....more like 5. That was so hard and I know it was for Bill and his family. So wishing I could make this all easier for Joyce and family but alas it is not in my power..or any of ours for that matter. Just saying prayers for the best.

Jaye, so sorry to read about Patches. Yes, for 3 weeks it was a well loved and cared for kitty. Make that what was intended all along....part of a bigger plan. A hug for you and one for Kel.

Trying to get last minutes things taken care of for Kim's trip. More problems keep coming up...now dealing with new contacts that came in but doctor forgot to label which is which. For some reason, Kim is having problems telling also. Give me good old glasses, thank you.

Kathy, when do you go for your sleep test? When you do just remember there are some of us who are right there with you in that "tangle of wires and electrodes". Well worth it though, I can't sleep at all with out my CPAP now. Just wish I have been sent for the sleep test much earlier.

took a few pix. of my new flower bed i'm trying to do. my painted ladies are pretty, but only have came up, and the sweet peas are growing slow. they are about 3 inches

Bill's dad passed away this morning. Funeral is monday.
i hope its ok i post this info . i didn't have time to ask her as bill was on the other line.

Good morning, dear sistahs.

Bill's dad has passed away. He did it peacefully in the middle of the night with no one around but his sister. Everyone else had gone home for some sleep. The Hospice nurse told Bill that big, burly mean often waited until the family was gone to let go. That's just what happened.

Yesterday was the day for making arrangements. The funeral was pre-planned, but the cemetery hadn't been decided on, and the final arrangements. Viewing is to be at 4-7on Sunday eve, and funeral on Monday at 10:00. We expect it to be a big one as he was mayor of our town for 12 years, then city manager for 4.

I just want to go to the garden and work, it would feel so good and temps are only to be in the low 80's this week. But the house calls, dog gone it! Maybe I could do both.

Bill just asked if I'd make him some breakfast and he did it so nicely that I guess I will.... ^_^

I got to tell you, You are the second person i sent an Armwrap to, and i have to admit, I am so happy you decided to share our love, instead of putting it in a box under the bed, lol. You know the first feeling when you received it, that was exactly how i felt as each set of hands went around, and not only did I wrap my self into it, but around it before it was forwarded. Every time I have shared a photo of whoever has it, my family just beams with happiness that it brings such comfort around the world, wink who'ld a thought?
