well i dropped a piece of lumber on my foot yesterday. no gym for me this week. sure puts a damper on my routine.

Hubs and I went to Rainbow springs yesterday. it was a fantastic day "away from it all".
the place was a booming tourist trap in the 30's water features, a small zoo with deer, fox, raccoon, a very large aviary, green house, many gardens. walkways with little tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the scenery...

Now has water, spring at the end of a river. waterfalls within walkways, with ruins of animal habitats, foundations of buildings....nice place to wander around and enjoy much local floral and fauna. old butterfly garden semi kept up....many plants labled, many not....

it was a wonderful day. Hubs took a dunk in the water !! not I way to cold for me.... water is a constant 72 all year.

I have to switch to my phone to send pictures, but easier to type on the computer.

I don't know, he will have to toe the line for a few years after he gets out as he will be on parole. can not be around drugs, booze or guns. He plans on doing a lot of things and going a lot of places with mom. He has lost 18 yrs of his life.......................

Jaye - there were many shining moments in our camping - at the end of it, the sun and weather was glorious and could wish we were staying lol
We walked so much, enjoying the scenery, took pics of bears, moose, and other critters, as well as those sharing our "adventure" lol

omg - just realized the "plus" side of this Calgary flood for all the residents of our trailer park........ and I hate to think of it that way, but it is....
The City will not be able to afford to move us. The news said it will take Calgary 10 years to recover, and $1B to repair the damage caused in all the communities and downtown.
So, bad as it is, there are some.....dare I say it..... good things that happened from a disaster of mega proportions........

what I learned today

I bam a bad mothers. took kids to vet for check ups, allergy shots and nails. muffins nail were so long one curled under so far, it embedded in his skin. it had to be cut and pulled out then cleaned.
now i'm even more depressed that I let that happen to one of my babies

Kathy - u are Not a bad mother, and u know this in your heart.
You were taking them to the vet for a full-maintenance, and this was found out. What did the vet say to you? I'll just bet it wasn't that you're a bad mommy!!!!!

vet just told muffin to stop squirming, he wasn;t gonna die

oh this family visit is not a good one !
my cousin has her two kids with her and let me tell you , they are a piece of work ! i m so frazzled !!
her son is the DEVIL l !!!!!!!!! and the little girl ain't to far behind.
big big problem last night. Her son was hitting my son with a toy. The boy would not stop and just kept going at it . my son jumped up on his bunk bed to get away. the boy left and started to play in the other room as if nothing happened ??? my son closed the door and locked it .
The scary part is , the young boy made excuses for his actions and blamed my son .... yea i know right... scary
My cousin interviened and took her son aside and talked with him but honestly that don't fly. That is all these kids get for discipline is mom saying
" no we don't hit, no computer "
man if my son did that to another child.... oooohhhh lawdy lawdy , fear of God in that boy for sure.
its so sad to see these kids be like this. so socialy unacceptable . no one likes them .
mom makes up all excuses for her son's behaviour . He can't even go to public school cuz he is THE DEVIL CHILD ! very sad to see. :(

My DIL does that to my Granddaughter, if she acts up, she pulls her aside, and wants to know why she did that. She says now lets talk about the reason you did that, that is not good, and don't do it again! She have never had a hand to her backside in her 14 years! Pretty sad!

yep, gotta teach sue how to handle these situations

hells bells, went to frrd the peacocks and had an escapee. one of the babies was out. I was able to catch him and put him back with mama. they are starting to roost, and are getting curios so they will be getting in trouble

I called the shrink and told him I didn't sleep yesterday or last nite. out of no where he had a 1:30 appt. today!

My cousin and her two unruly children would have been bounced out of my house in a hurry. Your home, your rules. Simple as that. She's the exact kind of parent that will be wringing her hands about "how hard I tried to raise them right" when they become criminals as a result of that lack of accountability.

...and they are the "problem child" for teachers to deal with and then have conferences with parents who insist it is the teacher's fault....she raised them right!

Kathy, I am glad you have an appointment. It helps more than you can imagine to talk to someone who is "outside" of the situation to help you get prospective. Hang in there dear one....I and all of us need the old Kathy back. Luvs U!!

Ex' niece once paid me a visit, bringing along her rambunctious 8 and 10 years old. Yep old enough to behave right?
They were touching everything in sight, and mama's idea of making them behave was to tell them to sit still.
Of course, that went on deaf ears. When one of them broke an Austria crystal basket, and all their mama did was tell the kid to apologize (kid refused).. I held the mother responsible. Told her that she had to repay $50, and I told her that it's a discount as I didn't charge her the Lafayette, La-- Vienna, Austria round trip ticket.
You can bet, I don't get visits from her anymore!

Let us know what kind of new meds or therapy the doctor recommends, Kathy.
Just being here and unloading is therapeutic, and it's free!!

Darwin has a chemo treatment today. Let's pray that he'd be fine from it.

jaye, I always spoiled kaden rotten, but he would never act like that at somebodys house. he knew I would not hesitate to pull his pants down and give him an old fashioned spanking. people blame the kids when its really the parents fault. having a bad time with sara lying to my. I finally asked her who taught her to lye. she said her mother.
now is my point proven? its the parents

Lonely? I think not but if you want to send a kitty to add to the 3 I have here, that is okay also. I have so many things I want to work on while she is gone...not to mention just catching up on some reading! :-)

First chore: sanding down the dungeon for priming; then painting ceilings and walls getting ready for Charlie to put up the trim work. Anyone want to join me and help? LOL
