As I had posted on the previous thread, I'll be MIA tomorrow till late evening.
Ooh.. forgot to mention that dummy me took a risk in repotting a brug that I've seen a couple of red ants on.
Yep.. got bitten. There was a colony in there!! Rinsed off my hands then applied hydrocortisone cream. Seems to work.
SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 261
Ok so I'll bring my post here...................
Hello Ladies,
Yup I do have Voo Doo Lily...lots of them!!!! They are so cool when them bloom but OMG!!! they stink like dead animals and the FLIES love em...so plant far away from your house. LK they like cool, shady and damp areas. They can't take any heat over 85, at least these that I have don't
Beings I'm just getting started with plants here Doug does not say a word, but he don't like having to water when I'm gone. I leave July 15th for Oregon and won't be back until the 25th, sure hope I don't come home to dead plants. My Tiger Lily has bloomed, My Stargazer Lilies are opening up, and soon will have some Zinnas
Going to mom's tomorrow, Taylor has a dance performance, then afterwards taking mom out for a late b'day dinner, then Sunday to visit my brother. He will be surprised, his oldest granddaughter is going with us he has not seen her in 3 1/2 yrs. Just wished his selfish daughter's would go visit him also. He thinks he may be getting out in Sept. The Gov here in Cally has to release 10,000 inmates by end of July. he keeps putting it off and federal Judges are going to fine $50,000 a day for everyday puts it off. This is his game plan (he's very STUPID). Instead of releasing the inmates he is sending them to other state prisons, then in a couple of months bring them back to CA. Now how the heck does he see that as saving $$$$$$$. He wanted to send the young violent ones to Fire camps but they are filled up. But my brother falls in a different catagory, he is over 55, needs medical attention daily, and has served his time. This prison he's in has a bunch of no good lazy COs. On weekends when the warden is not there they won't let the inmates have yard because they don't want to stand out in the heat. The things they do and get away with are just not RIGHT. I am writting a letter to Life Support Alliance, they are people who fight for the inmates rights. Hope it does some good.
Thanks for the new room Jaye, have a good trip tomorrow!
Cindy, sure hope your brother gets out too!
Cindy, I love your hair! It is so pretty!
Yesterday when my friend had her hair cut she talked me into having mine cut too, said she would pay for it. OMG, DH says I look like I just got out of prison, he can't keep his remarks to himself. My hair is so straight. I may have to get a perm, I'm so used to curls. Good thing I have hats. LOL At least it is cooler in all this heat. Wish I was given some permanent wavy hair. I do love your hair Cindy, mine is almost all grey and I just don't want to have to color it all the time. I'm just too lazy for that.
Cindy, you have a lovely face! The hairdo isn't too bad... wish I can grow hair like that!
Pegi, my head's too big for any hats! Lol! My hair haven't been permed since a hairdresser burnt it 40 years ago. Don't trust any permanent chemicals, as for coloring, I've been doing that myself these days.
God is so good!!
I prayed hard over this trip. Was so afraid that we won't be making it, as you know the situation with his parents.
God is soooo good.. He moved his brother to come down for the weekend and stay with Murdock. No, Kel didn't ask him as he knows his brother would refuse. Ain't God good???
Poor Kel still have to lie that he had to work the morning shift, in case they see the truck gone.
God IS good!
Weather's beautiful, had a little rain, but stopped when we got there.
The expo was more for long arm and sewing machine vendors so Kel had a very good time trying out the different brands of long arm machines.
I was too impatient to go through tons of patterns, but was fortunate to catch some demos of special rulers made by Creative Grid. I've seen them sold online, but can't seem to figure how they work. Well, more on my wanted list now!
More wool fabric sold there than cotton.
Since it's the last expo day, some were offering discounts on fabric. Yep, got a few precut bundles, and saved $$$!
Other thing I purchase was for my RWB buddy.. hope she knows how far I travelled just for that! lol!
I had so many ladies stopping me just to see what's written on my tshirt!
"Behind every quilter is a huge pile of fabric". Had to tell them where I got it, and I'm surprise there isn't a booth selling such, there!
Most of the time, since I'm slow walking with the cane, Kel would go about his own ways.
While I was busy watching a special presser foot demo, here comes Kel out of breath!
His face was red! Marion, you know Kel right? Like a child he had to report to mama what he had seen.
He said, he was curious with a booth that said "Stop sagging. Start bragging".
There were chairs lined up, so he sat on one, thinking it's a special demo.
He got up so quick that he almost turned over the chair when he saw the owner bringing out bras!!!!
I can't help but laughed later, and told him that they should be bras for male genetilias!!! Lololol!!
Sorry sistah Kathy.. you can now stop reading the rest.
Brought with me this behemoth bag with a huge LSU logo on it! Never expected to get high fives from LSU fans.. in all places.. Raleigh, North Carolina.. at a sewing expo!!
And these are serious fans. Got a few that were pissed that Alabama beat us, Kel made them laugh when he told them he's a Ga. Bulldog fan!
Goodness.. God is so good.. meeting real life LSU football fans and reminiscing on the glory days!!
Sounds like you had a great time Jaye! Glad you were able to get out and enjoy the day!
Now tell us where you got that T shirt please?
What drew their attention, were the large bold letterings "HUGE" across my chest!!! Since mine are endless Ds.. until I was stopped and allowed the curious to read on! Yes, some men gawked too! Lol!!
LK, I got the ts from http://www.twochicksdesigns.com/ Watch out for special offers.
ROFLOL at the thought of Kel and his trying to get out of the bra booth.......just to funny!!!!
Oh Jaye, Kim ordered me a couple of shirts from that site. "Queen of Unfinished Projects" and "A Fat Quarter Is Not a Body Part". I love to wear them and see the reaction of others. I wore the last one to see Mom and one of the social workers stopped me to ask "so what is a fat quarter". I explained it to Him...yes a guy! He really thought it was funny after I explained. Yes, they do have some good sales every now and then. LK, you need to just pop into the site every now and then.
The King of Thunder is constantly rumbling today but so far no liquid had come down. Sure wish he would spill a few drops our way.
I think I'm going to see a black eye for a very long time. I really think the black & blue is getting worse. I have to get prepared for a come back when he starts telling people I gave it to him. I wish he would put his sun glasses back on. LOL Glad he isn't seeing the eye doctor this coming week, maybe by the next week it won't look so bad when he has to go back. I told him it was a good thing he went to DMV before the fishing trip.
Sun didn't come out until noon and all I did was check on my tomato plants. I have a couple tiny ones starting. Just hope I get a decent crop this year.
I have that Queen of UFO, Marion. Need to get that fat quarter t..."Run with Scissors" and "Group Therapy". Will wait on sales though!
There were guys demonstrating a couple of long arm machines at the expo. Never know that social worker might take up quilting wanting to meet more fat quarters!!! Lol.
Supposed to be thundershowers yesterday and today, but not a drop. Will have to gather some Bounce and wet the pots!
Pegi, I didn't see Darwin's eye on your FB page. Did I miss it?
I doubt he will take up quilting as he is an avid fisherman.
Speaking of wetting pots, I read recently in a post I get from Proven Winners that you should but a baby disposable diaper in the bottom of her hanging containers to help reserve moisture. I tried it and guess what? It works!!!! Of course I did feel stupid checking out with this huge bag of large diapers but if it works.....who cares!!! After all they do hold dampness on babies so why not in a container? Okay, that is my gardening advice for the day. LOL
Thanks for the tip, Marion. Think I'll do that.
This is what Kel said I need to get for him..
http://www.twochicksdesigns.com/Wife_Quilts_Broke_T_Shirt_p/q172.htm
Fortunately it doesn't come in 4X!
ROFLOL now why am I not surprised at that! If Ross were alive I am sure he would want the same one!! :-)
Thanks for the link Jaye, you know now to get one into trouble! I posted one to Facebook, and I got a 10% discount code, if I use share10 in the check out.
You're just as bad, LK. I did it!
Now to find some change in the couch!! Lolol!
Funny isn't it how we all are so easily swayed to get into trouble. :-)
HAPPILY so, Marion!!! Lol!
Cindy great hair !
just a quick check in
hello and big ~~~~~~ to you all
not much going on here.
just busy getting house ready for relatives to come and visit tomorrow.
i have had some bad bouts of depression so i have been quiet.

"
many hugs and i promise to be checking in more often
sue
I'm not laughing, Sue. Nothing wrong in wanting to be a sex therapist.
One of Kel's customers moved here from Ca., thinking she can set up her practice. Unfortunately she chose a Baptist county!
Undeterred, she went into a related business..selling sex toys online.
Town folks got use to seeing a little red car in town with "Dr. Love" sign on the rear window and the front doors for a while!
Last we heard of her, she had moved to a more 'progressive' town.
((((((((((((((HUGS SUE))))))))))))))))))))) Know that we love you, and we're here for you.
Hey Sue, wishing you lots of luck in your new career!
Ladies, for those of ou that knew Joeswife, Debra, she lost her Sister a few hours ago. Please say prayers for her.
https://www.facebook.com/hondagrl57?ref=ts&fref=ts
This is her Facebook page.
Sorry she lost her little sister, prayers for the family.
Morning ladies!
Did you all see the full moon last night? It was very pretty here, no cloud cover.
Thanks for the prayers everyone.
Even though Debra's prepared for Sherry's death, it will still be hard for her and the family, the final acceptance.
She's a lovely woman, and this C devil will never win. May take lives away, but God has the last word, and Sherry is in Heaven now in eternity pain free in a new body.
Want to share this with my sistahs.
There's this farmer in our county, who each year, would dump a truckload of surplus sweet potato in town, close to WM.
He'd announce it on the local radio, where and when to expect this bounty.
A few days ago, I witnessed happy folks with bags gleefully helping themselve. Would have stopped to gather some, but Kel was in a hurry to get to point A!
I know this man is blessed a thousand fold by our Lord.
Cody, hope all is well with you.
Sis Kathy, are you feeling better now?
Enjoy your company Sue. They will cheer you up much more than a bunch of us that's stuck in your computer!! In other words, they're able to physically interact with you, whereas we can only give you virtual hugs.
Pegi, did you finish your painting project? I didn't find any bloop paints at Lowe's so, got some cans of spray paints. Gonna try do paint some wire baskets one sunny day.
Give me some sun LK.
Not a good day to be outdoors today, but I WILL not be defeated!! Have umbrella, will be travelling!
Lol.. to the vet for one to pick up kitties' milk and then to the post office for more boxes.
Then gonna start sewing! Birdhouses that is!
Jaye, with all those kitties you have, why do you have to buy milk?
One of the ferals had abandoned her newborns in the yard under some brushes.
One died, and of course, we rescued the living one.
She needs the milk.
Nubie, the other rescue which Kel brought home, when she's already pregnant, gave birth to 5 kittens. Kel's thinking of putting this one with her, but I told him she might be rejected.
Behold the miracle baby, Patches. Very light calico colors, already starting to be a fashionista. Had to cut out shirts from Papa's socks!
Patches is quiet when Papa's around.
We haven't seen the feral cat around since she dumped the babies.
We isolated Nubie and the kids. They are all living in Kel's workshop. As soon as the kitties are weaned, Nubie will be seeing the vet.
Hard to catch the ferals to get them fixed.
With everything that's going on.. this is actually Kel's therapy. His face always lights up if he's handling a cat.
When we were gone for almost a day, you should see how the cats react when we got home. Now I can't say no one loves me in North Carolina!!
Marion, guess I laughed at Sue a tad too loud, look who wears the crown now!
Awe Jaye, you and Kel both have hearts of gold! Bless you both for taking care of all those kitties! How many does this make now???
So I missed the Sewing Expo (long story), and thought I had saved myself a little $$ by not finding things I "needed". Nope! Today I get an email from Plant Delights Nursery that they are having a 20% off sale. PDN is about 5 miles from my house. So much for any vacation budget I might have had....
PDN Sale: http://tinyurl.com/mv9bejm
Say Hi to Tony and the cats for me please!!
Bring all your credit cards with you... Lanakila!
Sssshhh LK... we quit counting at 24!!!! Lolol.. somehow God always make sure we can afford the vets cost and food.
Had a friend that once helped us with the food via his sister. That stopped when she had to quit her job. Still God provides.
So we have a new "Queen of Cats" ? I think with Mom being sick like she has and the reality that there is no family really close has made Sue not adopt anymore. She has really been talking alots about what will happen when mom is no longer with us.......so I think there will be a real possibility she will move up here to be with us. Time will tell.
Love the picture above!
Ianakila, I feel your pain. I got their email also this morning and I am fighting temptation but feel like I might be losing the battle. :-)
Waving to all.
Hi Ladies,
Back home, Taylor's dance performance was nice. She only danced once and it was so hard to pick her out cuz they all looked alike. So glad I recorded it and watched it this morning. She is going to dance next year, and will be in more perfomances. After that we took my mom out to dinner for her b'day she is 86 years young and still bowls 3 -4 times a week.
Had a real nice visit with my brother, we surprised him!!! His oldest granddaughter went with us. He had not seen her in 3 1/2 yrs. Our Gov. has thrown up his hands at releasing the inmates, so the FEDS are taking it over. my brother could be coming home next month if not by the end of Dec for sure. We will know more about the 5th of July, when things start happening. These visit to him are very costly, between gas and food I spend about $80 I'm not happy about that. The food in the vending machines is very high. Mom got a BBQ Chicken sandwitch two pieces of bread and a piece of chick $3.75.
Thanks for the compliments on my hair. I need to have the top cut short. Because it is layered it seperates and looks funky. so I'm going back to my old hair style and be done with it!!!
Happy Birthday to your Mom Cindy! Glad to hear you had a good visit! Sending prayers that your brother will be released soon!
Home now, just tired out after all that's gone on since Thurs:
1. water shut off at campsite cuz the water was "compromised"
2. Told we wouldn't be able to leave the campground because of mudslides taking out 5 bridges on Highway 40 out of Kananaskis
3. No idea when we'd be able to leave. Got one message out to friends in Calgary, but then the phones went down, and no internet to email anyone.
4. At 10:50 Sat night told we had to be "mandatory evacuated" by helicopter - 1/2 hour to prepare 2 bags to take (one each)
5. Arrived at helicopter in parking lot, then told the pilots had used all their hours flying and couldn't be flown out until next morning. Went home and repacked with more thought. Went to sleep at 1:30 am, and woke at 6:00.
6. Waited by sde of the road to be picked up to go to Lodge and get re-registered for being flown out.
7. Nine am - picked up and taken to Lodge, arriving at 9:15am.
8. Told that people from last night, already registered, were to be first out that day and we were late........
9. Bob & I were put on two different helicopters, leaving at different times.
10 Bob arrived where I was, at helicopter pad, without his suitcase, which was left on the side of the road where helicopter picked him up.
11. Choose to wait at hanger until our luggage was brought - 1/2hr later they brought it.
12. School bus to Calgary, then Red Cross sent us home by taxi. Got home at 4:15.
13 Ordered pizza and tried to call everyone who was worried, both in Winnipeg, and Calgary.
14. Still getting calls and requests today.
Very tired......
No flooding at our home in Calgary - we're high enuff.....
Goodness, you have been through a lot! Did you enjoy the helicopter ride? How is your motor home, do you have to go back for it? Glad to hear your back home safe and sound!
really enjoyed the helicopter ride - could almost "touch" the mountains it seemed. Took a "movie" of it on my camera.
The campground managers are staying - for one, it's their home, not sure about the other couple of managers (2 husband/wife teams).
They'll let us know when we can come across highway 40 and can get to the RV to bring it back home. Glad we didn't bring our only vehicle with us, towed behind, because then we wouldn't have a vehicle at home now.......
I'm going to see if there's a way we can be taken out by bus, so we can drive it back home instead of having 2 vehicles to bring back.
