Rain, rain and more rain. Is it raining in Raleigh as well, Lanakila?
No work today, and I was in the swing of getting the garden fully rid of weeds and noxious invasive plants.
And I don't feel like sewing!!!
Sue, so proud of you gal, for sticking to your exercises and especially your chosen diet. You have some will power!
Hoping that your new rheumatologist may help your knee, Susan. Good luck tomorrow.
As long as Kim's a teacher, she'll be exposed to germs and viruses. Marion, tell her she needs to wear a full body armor, and one of those welder's helmet before she step into the school.
I saw your posting on FB LK. That is certainly no sunflower! You'll be reaping some squash or zucchini in a few weeks time! Free veges!
Summer will soon be here, and I pray for my sistahs' sake, that there'll be no more brush fires in California.
Sis Kathy, what are you up to?
SWEET INTERRUPTIONS # 259
ohhhh Jaye, that iris is bea-uuuu-ti-fuuullll
I had a hard time with muffin man last nite. his throat kept closing. took him to the vet today, he was wheezing and his bronchial tubes were very inflamed.thus, he has bronchial asthma. gave him an allergy shot, and a shot to sto[p the inflammation. he has to take pills 2 times a day, one for his bronchial tubes, one to keep him from coughing.
Michael asked my why I can't ever have a normal pet.
I still have kaden here and am doing his nlaundry.
Thunder that iris is such a deep burgundy, that when the sun's not hitting on it, it's black!
This is one that Bonjon had given me, 5 years ago.
Darn, Sis Kathy. You need to sue the seller for dog support!! Poor Muffin man.
Hope Muffin cooperates when it's meds time.
Hi Kaden!!!
Thanks, Jaye - looking forward to the interview :-)
Sending lots of thoughts and prayers for all those in the OK City, tornado's. They are still looking for 3rd graders in the school!
Hi Sue!
They are now removing 24, 8 year old children from the school,,that drowned in the basement of the school! So sad!
Evening all, long 4 days, haven't stopped sightseeing for 4 days..Jaye, gave cookie your hug!
Hello Ladies,
Just checking in so I don't lose you...........
So sad all the horrible things happening this year......................It has been a bad year from day one.....
Still working in my little yard, made two stepping stones have 5 more to go, these will be walk way thru little yard. Germinated some Lavender Zinna seeds going to transplant today I hope....the winds have been horrible...had a bud on my Angel Trumpet and wind broke it off before I was able to get tarp put up around plant, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Lily that bloomed this morning, have no idea name..............
Hey Cindy! Love those stones! Do you paint them too?
Hi Sue. Hug your twins for me please.
So sad as I forced myself to read what's going on in Oklahoma.
Cindy you do lovely work! Love those stones. You need to do more pavers too.. they will be a hit if you sell them at crafts show.
Betty, give Cookie another hug for me please!!! And Cookie if you're reading this.. HUG Betty and kiss her on both cheeks please!! Yep, from me :D
Sun is out, I'll inspect the mosquito puddles. Gonna drop some grease in them :D
Can't do any trimming, but I can start picking out places for the new plants.
Have a lot of pavers, just wish I could get busy and decorate them. And, what kind of paint do you use? I've had buds on my angel trumpets that wind broke off, and it is a double grrrrrrr for me.
I agree this has not been a good year from day one. So many heart aches. I really could use some rain too, but there just isn't any in for forecast.
hearing about OK and the children makes me sad.......
I just got home from interview at U of C - 1'm one of 4 (80 applicants!) that are being considered.
I called the other job I interviewed for at U of C, and they will call this afternoon to let me know if I will go for a 2nd interview with them.....
Good luck Susan!
This will give you happy tears for this lady and her dog!

Lk, I do paint stepping stones also, as a matter of fact I have one at my mom's I need to bring here so I can finish it.
Yes Jaye you are so right about the pavers....I have a few I need to get painted..........hmm like snails, lady bug, etc, lol
Those flowers are pre-cut kits I got from Delphi Glass, they were having a clearance sale and I bought up all of them, lol and the little butterflies too.
I am taking a few of the kits to Oregon so Sissy can make some stepping stones too. LOL she bought a small size cement mixer....guess we will be making LOTS of stepping stones
I saw that, LK - when someone is missing a furbaby, it's a BIG deal, so am really glad she got her dog back..
Pegi,
The best paints to use on pavers are Patio Paints. I soak my pavers and stepping stones with Thompson's water sealer. Then on the painted pavers and stepping stones I spray with acrylic sealer or Man O' War marine varnish, help keep paint from bleaching out or flaking off.
I just wanted to check in. I'll be away from the boards for awhile. I can't handle disaster chat, so it's better for me to avoid it.
I have some patio paints, think I need to get a few more colors. Everyone is so creative.
Watched that video of the schnauzer coming out of the rubble, oh what a happy moment.
Don't go too far Lanakila!
hoo boy.... going be SOME rain on Saturday when we're in the motor home...... !!!
and Driving rain. glad we'll be inside....
Morning everyone!
Susan, you guys be careful driving in the rain!
morning limda, pass the Excedrin migraine please
Morning!
Hope the weather's co-operating in your area sistahs.
Weeds are laughing at me. Itching to go out there and do something about that! But yes, got to respect the rains. :D
How about some Tylenol Extra Strenth sis?
They've downgraded the rain on Saturday, thank goodness - and we're driving on Friday, not Saturday. It'll still be raining on Friday and Saturday however........ ah well, we'll be inside.
Bob's getting off at 2pm Friday, and I'll pick him up so we can get going.
Just have to make sure the *)#& fella who parked in front of our MH in the compound MOVES so we can get out lol
It's supposed to be gorgeous on Sunday, so it will be nice coming back home lol
Getting clothes ready for my 2nd interview at the U of C this morning....... looking forward to meeting my potential boss....... John
Dress to impress Susan! That's what they say here when going out looking for a job! I know you can do this!
Kathy, sure hope your headache goes away soon!
yes, apparently I do lol
I was told, by an agency, that I should wear something with a collar.... and not to dress so I "arrive by clothing, before I do...."
Kathy - take care of yourself..... water is always good for a headache, cuz headaches are caused by constriction of blood vessels and hydrating them is good :-)
OOh that's good to know, Susan. I'll stop slapping Kel's head and hand him water instead!!
Sending alarming vibes to that *)#& fella in front of your MH, so you could move without offending him!
had to take 2 nerve pills last nite. kaden had to leave and he had to be carried out kicking and screaming. have had a headache ever since
Michael goes to skin dr. tomorrow. we are both scared to death
Sorry to hear Kaden had to leave that way!
Sending lots of prayers for the Dr. tomorrow for Michael!
Sending lots of ((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) for you, and praying that your stress level comes down soon!
thanks linda.
Kathy, how old is Kaden? In Texas a child 13 years of age can decide where he wants to stay. Check with the courts or lawyers, and see what can be done?
he is 7, and very stuborn
Doctor will tell Michael to stay out of the sun, or at least use some protection.
Sending prayers sis.
LOL Jaye, I am just itching!!! I found a patch of poison ivy I hadn't treated to a special drink of liquid!!!! Trying to keep my hand coated with the meds the doc told me to use now. Dumb me, didn't have my gloves on.
Safe driving Susan.
Kathy, I beez there with you dear, holding your hand and saying prayers that the news isn't as bad as you think.
Oh Marion, sorry to hear you have poison Ivy, that is not fun!
Head's pounding.....my 2nd interview started ok, but I don't feel I did well enuff for what they wanted.
it was a woman from HR, John (potential boss) and Don (HIS boss). Intense, hard-hitting, and high pressure questions. Cuz they said it was a high pressure job, I guess they wanted to test me. And test me they did...... 3/4 hour, with intense questions about behaviour and "what would you do in this situation" stuff (t's a BDI - Behaviour Development Interview). Those are usually tough, but this was "ramped up"......
They'll let me know my standing by end of the week. After being told I was one of two being considered, they now are saying they may "re-visit" previous applicants. Sounds like they didn't find what they wanted, in me. Still, I may be harder on myself than I should be, but it didn't "feel" good.
Keep thinking positive Susan!
