Hi guys, didn't want you to think I've dropped off the face of the earth.....still dealing with med problems, looking more & more like bladder cancer.....go for a biopsy on Monday @ a hospital in Clarkston WA.....two urologists looked around inside again today & talked to me about the possibility.......after all these treatments with no good results, consistent results it's sorta ruled everything out....anyway, just haven't felt chatty.....today was tough, I was over there alone & it's a long drive home thinking.....this will be my 4th go round with cancer....I sure wish I had someone to sit down with and pour out my fear.....God, I miss my Mom tonight.....anyway, just wanted to tell you I haven't forgotten you......

Lyndonville, NY

((((Depsi))))) I am so sorry you are facing this. Praying they are wrong....and for a cure of whatever it is.

Hugs,
Debbie

Morning all,

Deb I'm so sorry you have to go through this alone, how overwhelming it must be for you. Along with Debbie praying that doctors have missed something. Know each and every one of us offer a hand should you need us, if not on this thread then by d-mail or phone, I'd by phone just you d-mail me your number and I shall call..big armwraps from all of us. You are indeed a brave woman..remember you have beaten it before!

Verona, ON

Betty you must be pretty excited right about now anticipating your company today. Safe travels to all of the ladies driving to our Betty's. Whatfun you are all going to have.

Have power, came back on late Monday but it has been off for a few hours a few times since then. Lots of high winds..... how about you Betty and Debbie? Steve will come 1 day during his week's holiday in June and build a permanent structure for the generator right close to the generator outlet. Will be nice to crank up the generator and then flip a switch the next time the power goes out for an extended period. This is just another excellent example of why you should never put a task off ...... it was fine when Santa Warren was alive as he could manhandle the huge generator from the shed down to the outlet. I just can't do it. SW had the best of intentions about building that shed, talked often about doing it..... he just ran out of time.

BBL to comment. Sounds like lots of hugs are needed here today. I've got lots to give and will gladly take some in return.

Sun is shining, wind is whipping enough we have small white caps on the lake, Always makes me laugh to see these white caps as they are so small - I grew up spending all of my summers on Lake Huron., Now those were white caps!!

(((((((Dep)))))))) sorry you're going through this - you're being strong, but it can be overwhelming.....

Love to all! I have Bible Study this am, and a job interview at the University this afternoon, so won't be on much......oh yeah, and Choir practice this evening lol
Hope to let you know what results are of interview - there will be 2nd & 3rd interview if I do well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

waving Dianne, I'm so glad you'll have the generator properly installed..Darlene has similar set up, minute the electricity goes off at a turn of a switch she is back in business.

Was really blowing last night again, this morning was out putting lawn chairs back in order.

You would be shocked right now Dianne, the water is soooo low that many of the cottagers I know on the islands and shoreline in Midland/Penetang and area including mine won't be able to park boats..not sure what the answer is.

Know you watch local news, did you hear about the young man and the bear up in Cochrane..he spoke for about 10 minutes yesterday on 1010 radio..omg what an ordeal, if you haven't heard let me know and I will tell you about it.

Linda Kay you've had terrible weather, so hope all the tornado devastation wasn't in your area..if I remember correctly travelling Texas, Fort Worth area is quite north of you.

Guess who'se coming to dinner? Joyce d-mailed me as she was out the door, was raining, but it's SUNSHINE here..lol

Good Morning.

Wow! Sounds like everyone could use a great big old Bear HUG today. (((((HUG)))))

Good thoughts to you all....Life can certainly hand out some challenges.....nice to know there are lots of sympathetic ears/hearts here to share with....when the lemons keep coming, I say let's make some lemonade and margaritas and rejoice in the fact that none of us are truly alone.

No Cody...never really got into reality shows, but I can see why Alex would get a kick out of it....grungy guys, alligators and lots of action. A "Boy show" for sure.

Susan, fingers and toes crossed for you...hope one of these interviews is a great fit for you....(getting hard to walk with crossed toes....GRIN)

Hope we hear the sound of Grandma cheers today Thunder. Hope all goes well and Miss Ryleigh graces you with her presence.

Dianne...good to see you back. Glad Steve is going to move the generator for you....he is a good friend.

Betty...don't let your excitement scatter you today...we want you happy and basking in good friends and good times.

Sending good thoughts for happy moments for you all.

Thanks Jean..

You know how it is when you are sooo excited, keep looking at the clock!

talk about mega pain in my shoulder, I AM MY OWN WORSE ENEMY!!! paying for it..
Took pain meds, have voltaren on my shoulder, heatingpatch, don't dare take another pain killer, can you imagine Joyce arriving with the girls and me higher than a kite..

might not hurt though to have a cooler or two lol

ahhh forgot lemons, not sure how to make a marguerita but I can soon try and learn if this keeps up. Suzanne is in a tissy also, checking her list to make sure she has everything..they leave tomorrow..

should e-mail Jeff/Julie and wish them a good trip also

Verona, ON

Oh Thunder I am so glad and happy for you and your DH that you can be there for your family. Your son must feel relieved that someone he loves and trusts is there with the 2 now almost 3 loves of his life. Anxiously awaiting news of the arrival. You know all of us cyber aunties here will be chomping at the bit waiting to hear Ryleigh has arrived.

Betty, no I didn't hear about the bear. I bet that is some story for you to tell us. One of the people on the lane had a bear in their yard on the weekend. They are getting a little too close for comfort. I don't walk Diesel as far after dark as I used to because of the bears but also because of the maurading coyotes. They are getting so bold!! Although talk about bold and sassy I had a beaver slap its tail at me this am when Diesel and I were out. Guess we interrupted its destruction of a tree and it was just letting us know there was work left for him to do so get going. I am going to have to call my neighbours from Webster NY as the beaver has stared a tree right by the front of their cottage and abandoned it. I am afraid that one of these mighty winds will topple it and down it will come right into their huge picture window. I will get someone to help me take it down but don't want to do that before I contact them. I know they will say go ahead but I don't feel comfortable doing that. This is an older couple ( in their 80's) and hopefully their children will come up Memorial weekend and do a clean up on their property. The beaver have taken down dozens of trees and not taken them away. That irritates me to no end ... why do the beaver do that? Jean betcha you can find an answer to that question.

Glad to read you are starting to feel better LK. Hopefully you won't have another attack for a long, long while. How is Luna doing?

Kelli I so understand what you are feeling and my heart goes out to you. There are many of us here who have lost a loved one to cancer, have had cancer or who has a loved one suffering from that dreaded disease. We are all good listeners - hear that Depsi - and there is almost always someone here to listen and talk with you.

Katie I am glad you are keeping up your end of the bargain about not hurting yourself. I was going to get the big ladder out this morning to do something and stopped myself. In my head I was saying "what would you be saying to Katie right about now?" lol Left the ladder where it was. How's the headache?

(((Debbie))) I am so sorry there wasn't something more positive and proactive that came out of your appointments in Cleveland. At least you have some answers..... doesn't do much to help the pain I know but in 1 way at least you have some knowledge of what is going on. Chuckled rather evilly I might add about Shane and the ER. Yep Karma is a -----. Not to make light of the situation but maybe it will help him have a second look at things and decide they weren't so bad after all.

As I was weeding Lambs' Ears this morning Mary I was thinking about your meeting with the boss. With each tug I was saying to myself "take that" Did you see the boss twitching at all? Had no idea how invasive Lambs Ears could be - WOW!!!

Sending positive thoughts for your interview Susan.

Tell Jake he should take you as his date to the prom Judy. I hope he doesn't miss it but if his mind is made up there isn't much you can do is there? After the sweet way he asked his date to go to the prom I can't imagine what could have got in the way. But I guess we all forget about all that HS drama. I graduated HS way back in 67 - heck back then you had to have a note of permission from your parents if your date was from another HS.

Think I might try to have a nap. Not sleeping again and when I do want to sleep it is during the daylight hours. Worse than a newborn baby getting my days and nights mixed up!

Joyce, have an excellent time at Betty's. We can hardly wait to hear all about your activities. Enjoy Casa Loma, one of my favourite places in TO.

Dianne

Verona, ON

Betty is that a pain patch or a heat patch you have on? If it is a heat patch you shouldn't have the voltaren on too - you could burn your skin. So sorry you are in pain!!

Yes Jean Steve is a good friend. He is like the son I never had. He and his family are just a delight. Warren and I used to make light about being childless orphans but let me tell you being a widowed childless orphan is no fun.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone, wow, your all busy this morning!
Dianne, Luna is doing so much better! She knows I have been sick and hurting, and she has been the gentlest 56 pound cuddle dog there is!
Betty, so sorry to hear your not feeling well. Please listen and have your Dr, refer you to a specialist, there has to be something someone can do!
Debbie, so sorry to hear this may be another round of cancer for you! Praying the test are wrong! But stay strong, we are all here for you!
Sending lots of ((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) to all, whether you want them or not!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, here is a recipe for margarita's. They take limes not lemons. Don't substitute, it makes a big difference!
And lots more on this site...
http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/margarita-recipes.html

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz tequila
1/2 oz triple sec
1 oz fresh lime juice
Lime wedge for garnish
Salt or sugar to rim the glass (optional)
Preparation:

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. If desired, salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass.
Pour contents, with ice, into the glass. Garnish with the lime wedge.

Why Dianne....did I detect a challenge there? LOL

Beavers fell small trees in order to provide a constant food source....it is called coppicing

The habitat of the beaver is the riparian zone, inclusive of stream bed. The actions of beavers for hundreds of thousands of years[not specific enough to verify] in the Northern Hemisphere have kept these watery systems healthy and in good repair, although a human observing all the downed trees might think that the beavers were doing just the opposite.

The beaver works as a keystone species in an ecosystem by creating wetlands that are used by many other species. Next to humans, no other extant animal appears to do more to shape its landscape.[19]

Beavers fell trees for several reasons. They fell large mature trees, usually in strategic locations, to form the basis of a dam, but European beavers tend to use small diameter (

Verona, ON

These beavers ovbiously don't know whether they are European or American as they fell whatever suits their fancy. Its come to the point I think people will start shooting them. Across the lake there are a few places that are still summer cottages so people are not there for weeks at a time - some of these places are almost clearcut across their lake frontage. It's sad to see especially when the beaver just leave the trees and move on. Thought you would love the challenge Jean! One of the beavers is the same size as a mature Lab so is a fair size. Come Spring older beaver can be kicked out of the den and start to wander searching for a new home. When we lived in the old farm house on the township road I looked out 1 day to see a beaver strutting its suff right up the centre of the road. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it as it turns out just elderly. Sort of like the Eskimos putting their very elderly adrift on an ice flow as historical lore used to inform us school kids.

Thanks Jean I enjoyed reading what you found.

Are you trying to encourage me to tie one one Lindakay ? lol

Wondered Jean.....lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

GRIN...man I hate it when that happens....

I also mentioned to LK that yes, lime juice is very necessary for margaritas, but I rarely have fresh limes for garnish, so use lemons to garnish and chase shots...grin

Victoria Harbour, ON

well maybe those gals tonight will want a drink..have to go look again at what's needed..might be easier to buy marguerita coolers..not sure if they enjoy a drink..have to stock up if they do as our LCBO is talking strike, 1st time in its history.

anybody look at the link?

Encouraging her to "tie one on". Isn't that how this all started in LA dancing on a table...to cause injury!!! She needs no encouragement.!

doing the happy dance..

Debbie/Debbie, shaking my head here..you know I don't drink!!!! That is why when I have an odd one it hits me like a ton of bricks..lol

Lyndonville, NY

That is her story...and she is sticking to it! AND....what could be worse....her not drinking and still dancing on the tables!

Beautiful out here but the wind is really picking up again and "whistling".

Found a couple surprises in my garden

And the "fountain" at the doctors office in Ohio. Requirement to provide entertainment for me at these places.
It was from top floor (5 floors) down to lobby.

I will get even you know Debbie..you just wait and see!
Love the Iris, you do indeed have pretties. That hospital lobby can hold it's own with a 5 star hotel..Think I'd go sit and enjoy even if I had no tests.

Just getting ready for lunch, thought if I put it off a bit by the time I get back it will almost be time to go home..method to my madness

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Congratulations Grandma Thunder. Nothing could be finer than a Babe in Carolina....welcome to the world Ryleigh.

wow Betty...that was some story....that bear had to be either rogue or rabid....SHUDDER....the ladies were indeed angels.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh wow oh wow Thunder - how exciting!! your new little grandbaby is HERE, and she's beautiful, I'll just bet!!

Well, the continuing saga of my job interviews....... it's now up to 4 - one this aft, one tomorrow am, one Tues am, and one still to call for day and time but has confirmed they want me to come for interview.

Verona, ON

Woooo Hooooo Thunder! Congratulations!!! How is mom after the Csection?

That's some irritated bear. When it first started out I thought the guy was going to say the bear wanted his breakfast. That really will have me on the lookout when I walk DIesel now. One morning I had my heart in my mouth, thought it was a bear in the bush with all the noise turned out to be 5 wild turkeys.

Oh Debbie I love the lilacs. Sadly I have none here at this house.Of course the doc should have some visual entertainment. Dang we all spend a lot of time in their offices.

Putting the Tang on the road Sunday. Hope the sun is shining so I can get the top down while I take my first cruise. Doesn't matter if it is chilly I can turn on the heater. Can ya tell I've done that before? lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

WHOO HOO! Dianne. Yup...I'd believe you running the 'Tang's heater with the top down....GRIN

Do keep an eye out on your walks Dianne...don't want you or Diesel hurt.

Way to go Susan....hope you get the one with the best hours and highest pay.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol University doesn't pay all that much, but great benefits, and it's an easy drive to work!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I consider really good bennies as income ....they do make life easier. Being close to home means less gas used which is also coins in your pocket.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm with Jean Susan, benefits and closeness to home are what counts..now look at you, surely one will develop into full time job.

Kelli, hoping today is a sunshine day and that something brings a smile ..hugs

Dianne, actually did think of you and yes, bet they find out he had rabbies or something..would think that with over 300 stitches and concern of rabbies, they would have given him shots.

Dianne, Darlene is one week ahead of you, she took hers out last week..
nothing like feeling the freedom riding a convertible (taken last year) ..hey wait, does Joyce travel in a convertible???
